Finding Neverland (NY)

Finding Neverland (NY)

Based on the Academy Award®-winning film of the same name, this breathtaking show follows playwright J.M. Barrie as he summons the courage to become the writer - and the man - he yearns to be. Barrie finds the inspiration he’s been missing when he meets the beautiful widow Sylvia and her four young sons: Jack, George, Michael and Peter.

This is a magical show, I thoroughly enjoyed it ! It can warm your heart, as well as tug at your heart strings. It's the beautifully told story of "How Peter became Pan". Sad that the Broadway run has ended, but a must see as it tours the country. Maybe just maybe you will be lucky enough to find the Peter Pan inside of you.

My mom and I had a wonderful time seeing this show. Anyone who has a fondness for Peter Pan or the movie of Finding Neverland will surely love this show. A lovely score with standouts such as Believe, All That Matters, and When Your Feet Don't Touch the Ground, beautiful costuming and set design, and inventive special effects (no spoilers, but you WILL cry), all should have received Tony nominations. Why this show was snubbed is beyond me. I would definitely recommend seeing this before it closes or catching it on tour.

This was the best performance i have ever seen. It was perfect in every way. Laura Michelle Kelly is a goddess, and Kevin Kern played a specktacular J.M Barry. This was an unforgettable experience that you can't miss out on.

Show was delightful. Matthew Morrison did a great job but Kelsey Grammer had the best part and did it with his usual professional aplomb. Loved his performance. Very enjoyable.

I purchased a discount ticket out of curiosity. I knew little about the show, but wanted to see what would be done with Peter becoming Pan. It was so much more than I expected. How refreshing the plot was, how amazing was the acting, how beautiful the music. I loved it and want to see it again.

I've seen many Broadway plays and musicals over the years and Finding Neverland is now at the top of my list! You'll laugh, you'll cry and you'll walk away a more cheerful and hopeful person than when you arrived. The dancing and choreography is up there with any Tony Award winning production. Do not miss Kelsey Grammer and Matthew Morrison!

Finding Neverland is one of the best musicals I have ever seen on Broadway -- and I have seen hundreds! The music, choreography, voices, acting, and sets are all just phenomenal! I have seen it twice and cannot wait to return (and really cannot wait for the soundtrack to be released -- the songs are just all so amazimg and memorable!) I laughed and cried so many times throughout this fantastic show -- can't remember another show that ever elicited that kind of an emotional response from me! Truly a masterpiece -- do yourself a favor and just GO!!,

The first act was a bit slow but set the foundation for one of the best second acts I've ever seen. Laura Michelle Kelly is astonishing in the role if Sylvia. I truly wish she had more to do!! The entire cast is fantastic though and after seeing every other show on Broadway this season, Neverland is the only one to deeply touch me... Due in no small part to Ms. Kelly's performance.

I absolutely loved Finding Neverland. The story is engaging and absolutely heart warming. It did not only bring me to tears but also about 80% of the other people in the audience. The staging is simple with some very powerful visual effects at some points. The actors were outstanding and really convincing. I especially loved the music and I've been humming the songs ever since I left the show. If you want to laugh, cry, listen to good music, see some amazing choregraphy then don't miss this show.

They try really hard to put on a great show, but fall just shy. The singing is a little uneven. Some voices more operatic and others musical theatre. The sets are good and transitions nice. Some of the dancing and choreography seems forced and too staccato. They do a few dry and droll jokes which are good, but eh. It's funny, sad, and poignant at different times. Ends on a nice high note. It's a big Broadway musical. If you like that, you'll enjoy.

Finding Neverland is Wonderful. Please do not listen to the critics. My wife & I loved the show. The whole cast is brilliant, especially Matthew Morrison, who never sounded so good and does a great accent, Kelsey Grammar who delivers the funniest lines better than anyone, the 4 wonderful child actors and the entire troupe who put on the show within the show. I Would be remiss if I didn't tell you that the show is also very moving. As a 67 year old man, I found tears streaming down my face several times . My wife & I are avid theatre lovers and often disagree with the critics. We loved Chaplin, Bridges of Madison County & Merrily We Roll Along all of which did not get the greatest reviews but were loved by regular folk. On the other hand, last evening we saw," On the 20th Century", which the critics loved and which we found boring. That's life. Finally, Mia Michaels- we love your talent and hope that you don't let the critics get you down.

Went to see it with my 10 year old daughter and we both absolutely loved it!!! We didn't want the show to end. Excellent performance by all of the cast members but Mathew Morrioson and Laura Michelle Kelly definitely deserve standing ovation. It was magical, entertaining, very emotional and clever. I was also moved by the young talent on the show especially little Peter who was played by Noah Hinsdale that night I believe. This is a must see if you are in NYC for few days! Go see it you won't regret.

We read some tepid reviews before we went so our expectations were lower than they should be. Boy were we surprised. There were 6 of us. My 14 year old has already seen over 25 Broadway shows in her lifetime and rated this show in her top 3!! From the first number to the last, we were blown away. It really is a great family show. Forget the reviews. Just see it!! We're planning to see it again this Summer.

This show has been rather poorly received by the critics. I must say I don't know why, for me it was the best new show I've seen this decade. The music is expertly crafted and fits the style and the story perfectly. Every member of the cast, principles and ensemble alike, is exceptional, and plays their parts to perfection. I would absolutely recommend this show to anyone. However, I would suggest not sitting at the back of the mezzanine if possible (where I sat another night) as you may feel a little detached from the action.

This show awakens the child inside of you. You would have to work hard to get to the superficial things to critique. This play has many more wonderful aspects. It reaches deep inside of you. You'll laugh, you'll cry. It's truly magical. The power of the performance of the cast is both moving and fun. They come together as a collective whole, woven together by love ... and you feel it as you are swept up in their energy. The music and the scenery are amazing. At times powerful. There are moments that are jolly. Moments that are tender. Some that are sad. Once again, Magical. A performance for a lifetime. Well done! Can't wait to see it again!

The sets are quite lovely with clouds moving across the sky. Mia Michaels choreography is perfect, combining traditional dance with lively movement using props as she is known for. The music is lyrical, particularly "in the Circus of my Mind." We sang it all the way home. Theatre staff were so helpful to me. I am handicapped and had mezzanine tickets which were impossible for me to navigate. They set up special orchestra seats for my companion and myself and we viewed the play in splendid comfort.

This was the most magical, unforgettable experience I have ever had at the theater. I went with my 19 year old niece and we both had an incredible time going through the journey of JM Berry. The music was incredible, and very catchy. I've been singing one of the songs in my head since I left the theater. The acting was perfect, like every actor was made for that roll. Our 11 year old granddaughter is a budding writer and she loved this look at a writer's process. From exploring writer's block to understanding how a sweet man conjures up a character like Captain Hook, this lovely play reveals how a writer's experiences join with his imagination to write an abiding piece of fiction. The adults in our party enjoyed it thoroughly. We all need to stay in touch with the hope and optimism of our childhoods. This play is a sweet, welcome respite from the hot bustle of Times Square.

High expectations and whilst we had a fabulous evening, this show did not blow us away, Alfie Boe and Laura Michelle Kelly were superb, with some strong supporting actors. Matthew Morrison and Laura Michelle Kelly are sensational, and the Peter Pan/Pixie dust elements of the show are beautiful, sadly that does however not compensate for the numerous shortcomings this show has. The writers seem to have had a hard time deciding which direction the show should take, which results in fast and poorly directed turns from big, dramatic ballads to cheap slapstick. The actors are constantly visible in the sidelines and behind props long before they are supposed to enter the stage, which at times make the production look like a high school production rather than the Broadway show you paid 160$ for. If you have already seen most of the wonderful shows Broadway has to offer right now and happen to come across half price tickets, go see the show as an opportunity to see Matthew Morrison on stage. In any other case, you can put your dollars to better use by witnessing Disney magic in Aladdin, jaw-dropping performances and visual excellence in The Color purple, the King and I or An American in Paris or sell your soul to get tickets to Hamilton, which definitely is worth its hype and more.

I enjoyed the show very much. I appreciated Kevin Kern as the understudy for Matthew Morrison and he was very good.. even reminded me of Morrison. But the main reason I picked this play besides the fact that the theatrics and the story were compelling, was that I wanted to see Matthew Morrison in person and I was very, very disappointed he was not on that night. I had no idea Kelsey Grammar was not in the show any more so I missed out n seeing him as well, and at the same time I have to say the actor who took his part was excellent. The children were great, the other actors were very good and carried out the humor and the serious parts very well.

From the moment Tinkerbell's light hits the stage to the final curtain, this show kept us captivated throughout. The songs are wonderful, the choreography stunning and the performances were stellar. We had purchased these tickets a while ago and traveled from DC to see the show. Unbeknownst to us, Kelsey Grammer went out on hiatus so we were somewhat disappointed that he was not in the show. However, Anthony Warlow was fantastic as was the entire ensemble. And it is impossible to take your eyes off Matthew Morrison as he really does own the stage throughout. My knowledge of Mr. Morrison s work had been limited up to now, but he went above and beyond all my expectations. Everything about this show works. The lighting, the set design, the music, the costumes. They all combined to create a most magical night at the theatre. I would highly recommend this show for audiences of all ages. As this show centers around children, I know that children would be kept wide-eyed as they learn how Peter becomes Pan. Thanks for a great night of theatre. I LOVED IT.

This is an incredibly moving story of J.M Barrie and his life. It's so gripping that I was in tears for most of act 2. The scenery transfers you to a dozen different places and each scene is more unbelievable than the last. Mathew Morrison and Laura Michelle Kelly had my heart from the start and they are easy to love in every note they sing. Remarkable singing from the whole cast. Mia Michael's choreography does not disappoint. It's so edgy and contemporary as well as precise and effortless. My 8 year old and 5 year old were frozen to their seats in wonderment and loved the whole show! If Peter Pan wasn't your favorite story before, it will be after you see the depth and inner reflective soul the play was derived from. Laura Michelle's death scene wind & confetti funnel was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.

Going into the show, I didn't have high expectations. However, I was completely blown away. The show was absolutely amazing! The songs were incredible (I bought the album the next day and I can't stop listening to it!), the sets and choreography were awesome, and the cast was wonderful, and so nice and kind at the stage door. I would recommend this show for people of all ages, but be sure to bring some tissues. Absolutely wonderful and unforgettable show! I'm so glad I decided to see it! This is a show I would jump at the chance to see again!

I must be honest. I went to Finding Neverland with the idea I would be bored with another legend of Peter Pan. But I was wrong. It is a Great Play! I would suggest to all family and friends that if you can go and see it NOW. It was well worth the price of admission. The music was wonderful and haunting. The cast GLORIOUS! Great singing dancing and characters. The stage effects were simply marvelous and breath taking at times. This play, since we go often to Broadway productions, is in my top three that I have ever seen. Believe me if you want entertainment and a great story line go see it now.

I have seen a couple of plays this past year, but Finding Neverland takes the cake! Matthew Morrison is amazing! !!!! And the crew is absolutely hysterical and heartfelt. It was so emotional for me I almost cried! And I NEVER cry!...definitely recommend it for anyone who is a kid at heart and is curious about the story of Peter Pan. Great Job!!!!

I had no expectations going into this show. I had never seen the movie, I knew it didn't receive any Tony Nominations, but it has gotten great reviews with theater audiences and not so much with critics. I have to tell you this show was FANTASTIC! It is an emotional journey, the actors Matthew Morrison, Kelsey Grammar, & Laura Michelle Kelly, and supporting cast are amazing! Melanie Moore is in the show if there are any So You Think You Can Dance fans out there. The production and staging of this show is gorgeous. The story line flows very well from the author of Mr. Barrie to how he created Peter Pan. All the songs are so good but my favorite was What You Mean To Me. The show is family friendly too. You will not regret seeing this show it is a must!

Finding Neverland is joyful, yet heartbreaking story of a family with a big imagination. The story of how Peter became Pan will make you laugh, and make you cry, you'll be on the edge of you're seat the whole time. The theatrics of it all were absolutely stunning. The cast and crew do a phenomenal job bringing the scenes to life. Perfect show for the family and attracts an audience of all ages

As an obsessive theatre fan, and having seen hundreds of musical I can honestly say this is the best show to ever come to Broadway. I had been waiting to see this show since it premiered at the A.R.T last summer, and it did not disappoint. The musical captivated the audience though its entirety and had one of the most amazing casts I've seen in my life. Everyone was spectacular, but some standouts were Mathew Morrison (of course) who delivered an awe-inspiring performance, Laura Michelle Kelly who has one of the best voices on Broadway and acting skills out of this world, and last but not least was Aidan Gemme who played peter, he was PHENOMINAL and was responsible for a lot of my tears shed. The music had the power to make you feel overjoyed and then make you cry a river in a matter of minutes. This musical is a must see!

On our first trip to NYC we wanted to be sure to see a couple of shows. We have a great Broadway touring community in Cincinnati, but we wanted to see FN on Broadway. We were not dissapointed. The production was fun and moving...just beautiful. We would totally recommend it to anyone.

We wanted to see this play on Broadway before it closed. It definitely wasn't what we expected, as it was based on the story of the author of Peter Pan rather than any movies about Peter Pan like Hook. Some great sets and child actors and it definitely touched the heart. Would have liked to seen it with original cast, but well done by all. Water is allowed in the theater but nothing else. My son had to throw a closed soda away we had in our bag for the next day. That was not enjoyable.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed this show! Everything about it was fantastic and the price was unbeatable. We are glad that we got to see it before the end of it's Broadway run! Now that Finding Neverland is going on tour we are planning to see it when it comes through Orlando early next year!

I felt the special effects were quite good and the plot intriguing enough. However I felt some of the best reforms few were flat and many jokes were lost through poor delivery/direction. In general, may of the production numbers fell flat, although the number Stronger at the end of the first act was quite good.
