the concert was okay ,but it looks like don henley has done this so many times he could do it in his sleep. he came off as very robotic and insincere. or probably bored to death of playing the same songs for thirty years. he was all business and knocked it out before I could sit down with my second adult beverage.

Great show and sound system was excellent. Only problem on main floor was two rude women that insisted standing during entire performance even when the balance of the audience was sitting down. So a lot of the time all we saw was their wiggling behinds!

I thought it was a wonderful show. I was sorry to see it end, I could listen to him all night. I would definitely go see him again, and I hope he comes back soon. I liked that it was a smaller venue and kinda casual. The ticket prices weren't bad either.

It was a great mix of some old eagels songs, his solo work and some funny stories. Yhe sound was great . I have seen him play with the eagels and I have seen him before by himself he always puts on a great performance.

Saw him earlier in the year with the Eagles, but to get him in this more intimate venue with just the right mix of his solo work combined with the Eagles oldies was a night to remember. Still the problem with the accoustics in this Hollywood setting, but Henley's talent overshadowed those technical problems completely.

I have seen Don Henley play in bigger arena's and it wasn't as personable as it was at the Hard Rock. He talked to the audience and he became a friend instead of a performer. It was great!!

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the concert overall and the Hard Rock venue is the best. It beats Bank Atlantic Center any day! Don Henley still has the voice and talent but I was disappointed that he only played for an hour and a half and did not introduce the members of his band.

A no-frills top-notch concert. Henley played all the hits, his own and from the Eagles, and interacted with the mostly 40 something and older crowd. From the opening number, Dirty Laundry, to the last encore, Henley's voice was perfection. His band was exceptional performing at their best. The only negative I saw was that Henley never sat behind the drums. I would've loved to see and hear his expertise there as well. If you haven't seen Don Henley in concert, I recommend watching, listening, and remembering all the good music he made with the Eagles and as a solo artist.

Don Henley was great! Every song was performed to exceed my expectations. He not a young guy, and yet he hit even the toughest high notes. His band which I know is the band that it is used when Don performs with the Eagles was tight and very together. Don Henley is such a fantastic song writer. I would have like him to play one song while playing the drums. Overall, a GREAT SHOW!!!

If you get the chance to see Henley don't miss it because it will be the best show you ever saw, one hit after another. You won't want to leave your seat because EVERY song is a major hit.

The show was not as good as expected. It was very low key, and short. He only played for about 1 hour and 15 mins including the encore. The show was not sold out, because tickets were over priced. For such a short show, tickets should have been about half the cost. It felt like Don Henley didn't want to be there.

Frankly, a sub-par performance (disappointing) for Don Henley's high standards (or better said, for the high standards I have learned to expect from him!). With all his viruosity, Mr. Henley should be less concerned about staying true to his studio recordings. With the exception of a fine cover of Tears for Fears' "Everybody Wants to Rule The World" (in which he's so true to their version, you would almost think it were Tears for Fears performing!!), the rest of the show could've been mistaken for a lip synch! What's more, Mr. Henley did not include one song from his latest album, "An Inside Job" (which was yet another masterful piece of work by him). I heard this remark also from several audience members as we were filing out from the arena. Mr. Henley has such an extensive, well-known repertoire from his Eagles and solo career that he should be able to re-work and add new twists to his songs when performed live (his "Inside Job Live" DVD proves that he can do just that if he wants to, and very well - check out his reggae version of Hotel California as solid proof. Otherwise, I can't help but feel like I've paid hansomely just to endure 2 hours of classic rock radio focused on one artist! My wife and I will keep going to your shows, Mr. Henley, but we know that you can do better. Next time please treat us to something new, and get off the beaten track(s)!!

Don Henley is one of the best musicians around, and that is why he still continues to pack arenas after 40+ years in the business. The show was good, but we could have done with less Eagles and more Don Henley. However, I will still go see him every time he comes around. The tickets were very pricey.

in today's economy it would seem that a artists would like to give their fans more for their money. such was not the case with don henley at the hardrock. its difficult to understand paying 150 dollars for a 80 minute show. Don rushed through 12? songs and lectured the audience on using cell phones. what a disappointment.

I have seen Don Henley many many times in concert. Even The Eagles as well when they had their Farewell tour. I am still amazed out how he can continue after all these years to perform great, almost seems flawless. He is accompanied by a great band who I'm sure has been with him on tour for many years now. Don Henley will sing you almost any song you have pretty much fallen in love with, he sings Eagles songs, you wouldn't even know that he is singing solo when singing Eagles. He interacts with the audience always, tells stories of how he came to write each song. And he is camera friendly, he doesn't mind us fans sneaking in our digital cameras and walking up to the stage to snap a shot. He posed for everyone in this last concert at the Hard Rock Hotel. I would continue to see him as long as he's coming around. It's worth the expense and I still think about this last concert til this day! Made an impression on me..

Don Henley and his band were amazing. It was like 2 concerts in one...Don Henley and The Eagles. I feel like I saw history, Don sounds as good as ever and his band is just as amazing. I appreciate that he brings along such a large and talented group to his performances, a lot of artists cheap out and bring the bare minimum, but he spared no expense in talent. This is a must see concert! I would go again if I could!

Wow.....what an evening! Don Henley knows how to throw a party for his 70th birthday. A show that had something for everyone.......songs from Cass County, hit songs from his solo career and songs from his Eagles days, along with guest performers. It was a trip down memory lane for everyone. Don's three backup singers each came to the front of the stage to sing with him, and they are all talented ladies. Of course, the highlight of the evening were musical numbers with his guests: The Eagles' Timothy B. Schmidt and Joe Walsh, Patty Smyth ("Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough,"), and Stevie Nicks ("Leather and Lace.") For a seventy year old rocker, Don still can sing those notes and we especially liked the back notes he shared about some of his songs. Can't wait to see Don Henley again!!!

Don Henley's 70th birthday concert, he played his normal full set, Stevie Nicks joined for "Leather and Lace", Patty Smythe for "sometimes love aint enough".. Joe Walsh hammered out "Rocky Mountain Way", while Timothy B. Schmidt chipped in with "I can't tell you why"? historic, I hope a Blu Ray is forthcoming. Walsh burned on guitar for the Eagles classics, "Hotel California" and "Life in the Fast Lane".. my 7th time seeing Mr. Walsh, the first was opening for Ms. Nicks in 1983, who in turn I had seen with Fleetwood Mac 40 years and 12 days prior.. she still looks fantastic!

I saw Don Henley in 2016 at the Minnesota State Fair, and this birthday concert in Dallas had a very similar set list. However, the birthday concert also had special guests Joe Walsh, Timothy B Schmidt, Stevie Nicks and Patty Smyth. Where has Patty been? She looked and sounded great. Don seemed in great spirits, was talkative with the audience, sounded great, and had a great band of musicians behind him. He played for 3 hours - amazing. What was not to love?

Great birthday party/bash by Don Henley Saturday night in Dallas. He rocked the house & had the crowd singing right along with him. From his early hits with the Eagles to his newest stuff on Cass County, he proved he's still got it at 70. He brought guests, Patty Smyth, Stevie Nicks, Timothy B Schmidt & Joe Walsh to join him with some fan favorites & ended the night celebrating his birthday singing the Beatles Birthday song while releasing balloons to the crowd. Great way to celebrate a milestone birthday.

Don Henley was in a rare mood Saturday night. He actually smiled once which is unusual for him. He's usually very dower and somber. The usual security that patrols the arena for photo takers was almost absent. And, he only admonished the crowd twice, a new low for him. I've seen Henley with and without The Eagles for decades now and this was the happiest I've ever seen him. Maybe he's aging gracefully. It was great seeing the surprise guests that came out to join him. Timothy B. Schmidt, Patty Smyth, Stevie Nicks and Joe Walsh. It was an amazing show probably the best one I've seen him do. And, it lasted for 2 1/2 hours, definitely the longest solo show I've seen him do. If you get the chance to see this version of his concert tour it's worth the time and money. I wouldn't say that about his other solo tours.

Don Henley has always come across as very professional and businesslike. He respects his craft and consistently strives to deliver a quality product. Tonight, on his 70th birthday, he was still professional and businesslike, but this time he appeared to be really enjoying the concert and having FUN! I like this version of Don Henley! Every song and every production was outstanding....Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmitt, Patty Smyth, AND Stevie Nicks joined in the FUN. A great evening!

Don Henley put on an amazing show! His voice was still just as sweet and clear as it always has been. When he got behind the drums, I thought I would die!!! Having the opportunity to hear him sing with Joe Walsh and Stevie Nicks was something I will never forget! I was quite disappointed and embarrassed by the crowd for not giving him the respect and ovation he deserved. Some of them acted like clapping was not necessary. That's okay, I screamed and yelled and clapped as loud as I could. Despite the geriatric behavior of the audience, Don put on an unforgettable show!

Stevie Nicks was his back up dancer for All She Wants to Do is Dance. How often do you get to see duets recreated live? Both Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough and Leather & Lace were performed. The 70th birthday celebration concert with Don Henley was great. My wife and I sang along and danced in the aisle to songs woven through the threads of our lives since the early 70's. The musical guests appearances by Patti Smith and Stevie Nicks were cool, but Joe Walsh tore it up with Rocky Mountain Way and continued to play with the band until the end. As always Don Henley doesn't tour too often but when he does he reminds his fans why he's worth the wait. His banter with the crowd is smart and funny and pulls the audience in. Nowadays it is rare for an artist to perform for two hours but Don did so heartily and the time flew by. Quite frankly I didn't want the show to end, packed wall to wall with most of his major hits which had everyone singing along. His band numbering what must have been 15 people were a talented group and I swear each song sounded like you were listening to one of his CDs.

Don Henley is one of a few dying breed from rocks best era. He sounds as good today as he did 10 years ago when I saw the Eagles during the hell freezes over tour. He loves what he does and it shows. Two plus hours of uninterrupted music throughout Don Henley's amazing career. With three of the key backup band members from the Eagles, the songs were musically equivalent to the Eagles concert last year. Stuart Smith was top notch and did a fantastic job on Hotel California, as always. Don also included a few songs from his newest album Cass County, which sounded better live. Overall, the songs from his solo career were the best. The amazing thing was Don could still hit the high notes, even though this we towards the end of this tour. Review of Don Henley Concert at Greek Theatre on UC Berkeley Campus July 23, 2016 The Greek Theatre on the UC Berkeley campus is a stone auditorium overlooking a Greek parthanon stage that has been in place since 1903 (see pictures). So unless you want a sore bum you better buy or bring a pad to sit on. Add to that the crazy Don Henley rule of no electronic devices on during his main set that was strictly enforced and you have the most darken audience performance I have seen in decades. (Actually this is an Eagles thing too, but the venues were so large it made enforcement near impossible). Add to that the one heckler who jeered out at every pause, Hotel California (which irritated the heck out of Don Henley), and you have an audience that is a little on edge and feels a bit controlled. The temperature of the venue also bothered Don, who complained of being cold and performed with a flannel jacket….which explains in part why the opening number was Seven Bridges Road —the Eagles warm up song. One other thing about this performance….there were no big screens, no video footage playing in the background which has become more the norm than not at concerts. At this performance none of that, only variations in lighting. And if you looked closely you could see Don Henley wearing spectacles, reading lyrics from a monitor up front….which explains why he did not move around a lot. At least he did not sit down like at the Eagles concerts. One final note about Henley s appearance…he was clean shaven including no chin stubble, like he just stepped out of the barber chair and onto the stage. The concert opened with audio snippets from radio dating back to the early 1900s to modern with lights focusing on old radios hanging from above the stage….preparing the audience for a Cass Country performance. Besides those included in the encores, Eagles songs included Witchy Woman and Sad Café. However, the night was more focused on two types of Don Henley songs….his new album Cass Country, and his greatest hits. He brought an ensemble of 15 people including a horn section to accompany some of his solo hit numbers. Songs from Cass Country included Bramble Rose, Words Can Break Your Heart, and Train in the Distance. Each included a short story from his childhood. He avoided completely the most popular songs from the album including The Cost of Living, Take a Picture of This, When I Stop Dreaming, and Praying For Rain. So this was side B night for Cass Country….and the crowd of about 10,000 (2/3rds of capacity) was not amused…they wanted the good stuff. Songs from his greatest hits performed included Dirty Laundry, The Boys of Summer, Sunset Grill, The End of Innocence, and The Heart of the Matter. The audience really responded every time each of these were performed, and well done at that. After the main set, all the policing faded away for the two encores, with two songs each. The first Encore included two Eagles songs—Life in the Fast Lane, and finally Hotel California….to which after all the build up by the heckler the now unrestrained audience erupted. It was interesting to see Don Henley shadow drum during Hotel California (reminding Eagles fans, oh yeah, he is really the drummer we are used to seeing)….prompting Don and company to come back for a second encore that included All She Want to Do is Dance and finally an Eagles Desperado

This man has lost nothing with age, in my opinion. His voice was exactly as you've heard it on the radio, there certainly was no lip-syncing or mechanical enhancement beyond a microphone. Simply talent. On point in every song. The light show added the right amount of drama to the stage. It was my first time at this venue and my first time seeing Don Henley live, although my memories of him start in the 80's. I am especially found of "Dirty Laundry", which became especially poignant during the Michael Jackson trial. Henley's work has given me comfort, daydream, and inspiration. How appropriate to finally see Don in person under the stars. I want to give a shout out to the people behind the scenes too; all were polite, professional, knowledgeable, and in a good mood!

Don Henley, even at 68, sounds spectacular. He is so classy. The venue was historic and the sound system was perfect. He mixed his songs well with classic Eagles, his solo music and played other artists music like it was his own. It is so nice to be able to sit down and just chill while appreciating the legend, the voice and the harmonies with the mature crowd at the Greek Theater. Loved the artist and the venue!

Show was overall good, but weak compared to his past performances at the same vennue. Was expecting more given the number of supporting artists he brought along with him on this tour. Did not care for the new "absolutely no camera policy", which was new for this performance.

Unbelievable concert, the new music was so good and I'm not a country fan, but listened to his new CD for a couple of days before the concert so I'd be familiar. I would recommend going to everyone who is a fan of Don or the Eagles. It was a truly fabulous concert

Don Henley has long been one of my favorite artists. I live in Reno and I'm still curious why he chose Reno for a one night show. Guess it was just my good fortune. I raised my daughter listening to and singing Eagles and Don Henley (among others) songs. I'm 55 and she is 26. She flew into town for the event from Santa Cruz, Ca. It was our Father's Day event. Sat in our seats for about two songs, then danced our butts off down on the floor level for the rest of the show. I'm scratching one thing off my "bucket list" now. Thanks Don!!

I really enjoy Don Henley's music! After seeing him perform live, however, I realized he is a talented singer and musician but not much of an entertainer. He rarely engaged the audience or spoke of the songs he sang but he did SING--song after song of some of his and the Eagles biggest hits. He is still one of my favorite "boys of summer"! :)

Mr. Henley hasn't missed a beat over 40 years of performing with and without the Eagles. I saw his show this weekend in St. Petersburg, FL and he was truly amazing. His personality shows through more when he performs alone. He sang all the hits and a few new ones, while conversing with the audience and telling a few stories in between songs. Worth every penny of what you pay for tickets! This was my fourth time seeing him in concert and it won't be the last!

Great concert - it appeared that Don may have been a little under the weather, as he didn't work the stage much but it was a great show.

Don Henley and his backup band provided us with stellar entertainment at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles Saturday night. The evening was full of surprises from the very first song, which was a cover. (Sorry I can't remember the title, but it was an oldie.) He included samples from all of his solo albums and several of his Eagles hits. I appreciated it most when the band deviated from sounding exactly like the record with extended guitar solos. Henley also mixed things up, such as the creative way he started End of the Innocence with a slow rendering of the verse rather than the piano solo. Just as we were starting to cool off in the evening air, they upped the tempo and got us on our feet with "All She Wants to Do is Dance." We thought he was done after "Desparado," but they came back out for a couple of more. "Might as well," said Henley,"we've busted the curfew anyway!" Thanks for a great performance! Lucinda Williams gave an interesting opening performance. She has some good material but nothing I would call a solid hit. She would have benefited from a stronger stage presence, daring us to pay attention to her songs rather than apologizing for being the opening act.

Don outdid himself on this one! I've been to hundreds of concerts, including at least a half dozen Eagles concerts, and I'd be hard-pressed to find one I enjoyed any more than Henley's 70th birthday bash!! A 2.75-hour mix of my favorite Henley solo hits, along with a mini-Eagles concert with Timothy B. Schmidt & Joe Walsh, Joe's Rocky Mountain Way, with some Leather & Lace by Don & Stevie - OH EM GEE!!! Worth every penny of our insane ticket prices! Can't stop thinking about it.

Don has one of the greatest voices ever and his songs are beautiful. That being said, his stage presence between songs could have been better. I want the artist to look like they are having fun up there (even if they are not). Don's energy level did seem to go up as he was joined by each special guest including Patty Smyth, Timothy Schmidt, Stevie Nicks and ultimately Joe Walsh. I am being picky, it was still an event i would not have missed. The band backing him was great. I was blown away by the talent of the back-up singers. That is something i rarely would notice. I liked the fact that Don gave each of them a chance to join him on a duet.

The only thing that could have made this show better, as it was very nearly perfect, would be if we could hear Don's speaking more clearly. That, and if Jackson Browne had joined him.

I can't believe this "70" year old man gave that kind of high-energy performance Saturday night! Nearly 3 hours of intense energy and a performance most 40-year-olds wouldn't be able to give. Worth every penny.

The concert was amazing! To be able to see Don perform with his all star band including long time players Scott Crago on the drums and Mike Thompson on Piano along with longtime guitarist Steuart Smith and John Corey and all of the fantastic singers and horn players. At one point I think I counted 16 of them playing the music and putting out sound for all to enjoy! That along with bringing in fellow Eagles, Timothy B. Schmit and Joe Walsh and then for whip cream on the pie having Patty Smyth and Stevie Nicks come out and join in the fun.

Don Henley tried hard but the only songs we enjoyed were the ones with his special guests. The reason is because we could not understand him. The sound system was really bad. The music echoed. He mumbled into the microphone. He would chit chat and drag on his stories about an old girlfriend. Just not the performance I expected. Just not the right venue either.

Similar to the show last year with almost the same identical set of songs. That's the good news as I really liked Don's progression to some country flavored material. He seems quite natural with it. The show itself was a trip through the last 45 years as Don said at the outset. Both his vocals and band were excellent. Song selection was quite enjoyable to say the least. I would strongly advise you if you get a chance check out the show. He plays well over 2 hours and a good time is had by all. I hope he goes back on the road soon as I would check it out again for sure.
