I would sit in an oven for 6 hours, just to see this concert again. The audience was great and the people around me were very cool. The light show and videos from Tool were psychedelic. And Les Claypool of Primus was phenomenal. I really enjoyed myself.

Tool was outrageous! Powerful, intense, very loud (but fitting for their music) and a hell of a show. Both visually and sonically engaging AND entertaining! Maynard, as usual, sang in the shadows near the back of the stage in his insect/militarized looking get-up. His crawling animalistic poses and haunting vocals (although merely a silhouette) were the focal point of the live human performances. The backdrop was filled with visuals similar to their videos along with amazing lighting and lasers which matched the intensity of their music. Danny Carey has to have THE most powerful drum kit that I have ever heard. And MAN can he play! He even did a (sort of) new age drum solo that built to your typical hard rock drum solo while the others caught their breath for a few minutes. Justin and Adam's intricate lacing of guitar play was even MORE integrated live than on the studio albums. Now THAT's impressive! I never realized how much bass filled guitar leads. I was disappointed that there was no encore, even though they did play for nearly two hours. They also did not play MY fav: Lateralus☹️ Over all, I would pay to see them EVERY chance I can...again and again and again...!!

My husband is an avid TOOL fan and we have been to their concerts for the past three years- this year it was held at Engery Solutions Arena and it was amazing. They were so good this year and the venue was so much better. We had wonderful seats and could see Danny Carey and Maynard perfectly. It made my husband so happy- he loves Danny Carey. We brought some friends who aren't super in to TOOL- but after last night they definately changed their minds. We will continue to go every year... We love TOOL.

I am a huge fan and was quite disappointed after last nights show. There were too many just long instumental music breaks with nothing going on. The sound was also off and I could not understand what he was saying or singing. Plus he stayed on this little stage next to the drummer and there were speakers behind him. So with him all dressed in black at the begining, I couldn't even see him for the longest time! I kept hearing his voice but had no idea where it was goming from till he moved a little bit away from the speaker and then I saw him. I have loved TOOL forever and will still be a fan just don't think I will rush out and buy tickets next time.

Not the best Tool show I've seen. The acoustics at the venue were terrible and Maynard just didn't seem into the show at all. They took several breaks during the hour and forty minutes they played and didn't even come out for an encore. It's still Tool and they did play some good songs, it just didn't measure up to other shows they have put on.

i've been to plenty of tool concerts in the past. normally the opening band is just okay, but this one Tweak Bird was horrible. i couldn't even tell where their songs started or stopped. and tool was not on long enough. they started and nine and were done by 10:41. and the song selection was terrible, it was all of their longest songs, which were made even longer by adding long drug out nonsensical alien sounds.

Tool was great when they were playing---short set of 11/2 hours filled with alot of instrumental playing as if they wer biding thier time. This is not a great arena acoustically and from where I sat I was unable to hear maynard's vocals. They id play a song form every album but the EP so it wa a nice diverse set---just wish it was longer with less filler.

This is the 4th time I have enjoyed the Tool concert experience. The background screen and lazer light show was fantastic. Good mix of songs chosen for the show. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars, is that I wanted to hear them play longer. Seams like all their shows I have seen, last around 1 1/2 hours of music. With all their great songs, you know they could play well over 2 hours, but never seam to do. Great concert and music experience. If you have never experienced a Tool concert, I highly recommed you check it out. You will not be disappointed. :)

Tool was good as usual. The light show and solos were amazing. However the acoustics and sound quality of the vocals at energy solutions arena made it hard to hear Maynard over the drums and guitar. Granted it's been some time since the last concert attended but my anticipation was relieved when Tool took the stage. The first band was ok, but energy level left people with a question of what to expect next. When Tool came on, the real show kicked off and they didn't disappoint in the main event. Great songs, solos and visuals. No encore though, was it too late on a Sunday in Salt Lake, really? B-

The show was good, but too darn short. I'm spoiled by Nine Inch Nails and 2 and a half to three hour shows, but still, this was lucky to have made it to an hour and a half, and that's giving them credit for the ten to fifteen minute break when they all exited the stage and left the music rumbling the arena while they were taking a break. I also was surprised by the lack of an encore, but maybe that's something they don't do. On top of that, Maynard never once got onto the main part of the stage and into the light, but maybe that's the norm for him. He stayed back on the drum riser platform, in the dark, which did make a sweet silhouette against the video background, but I thought sooner or later he would come out onto the big vacant center of the stage. It was a good show, some amazing music, but an awful lot of my time and money spent for such a short offering of entertainment.

Tool and primus kicked ass BUT the 140 dollar 3rd party nosebleed seats made it bad for me. My seat was do far away from the band that I couldn't hear they way you should be able to hear a metal/rock show. A couldn't see the band's either. The screen they use for basketball should have been utilized. When I saw the guy with binoculars I thought that I shouldn't have to go to a show and use binoculars. The band's were great, fools light show was un like any I've ever seen but I will never go to a show like that again where I am forced to sit in a seat. I want to mosh and be part of a crowd. So I learned a lesson, basketball arena suck for shows like that.

I would have only been able to see better if I had an end seat or a seat closer to the front. This is my second time seeing Tool live, the first in a large venue atmosphere (first was a the Live Oak Civic Center back in '96). No question, the guys can play, and sound amazing live. They played a good number of their radio hits, which for those who aren't all that familiar with the band would love, but for those who have closely followed them throughout the years, it would have been nice to have heard a few off of Undertow, or others which aren't so mainstream. One odd, and rather impersonal aspect of the show, is the fact that Maynard never made a visible presence to the crowd, almost like it was strategically planned, which I'm sure it was since the lights never once crossed through the dark section of stage he stood in next to Danny's drums. I've seen photos from the San Fran and San Diego shows where Maynard is wearing some sort of military suit, it would have been cool to have seen that, as well as him act as if he is part of the band. But instead, it took more of the impression, at least to me, that Maynard was saying Danny, Adam and Justin are Tool, and he's just taking time away from Puscifer to add his part to the show. Maynard is a huge part of the live presentation for this band, and him just hiding in the shadows was a dissappointment. And even worse, the lights come on at the end of the show and Maynard quickly steps off the back of the platform and exits the stage. These guys are selling out venues at every stop, you'd think the front man for the group could at least step forward and thank the crowd, or at least show his face...what the hell? The second let down, now that I've read reviews for other stops on this tour, is that they cut the San Antonio show short. After 46&2 the band takes a 12 min intermission break, comes back and Danny does a really cool drum solo, then they round out the show with Stinkfist. Come to find out, the other shows have included Vicarious, which was one of the only main stream songs I was hoping to hear live. That sucks! But even with the few disappointments, I would definitely see them again, especially when they come out with a new album. Ten years is a long time to wait for a group to produce new material, and though this show was more like a reunion tour, it just means that, hopefully, Tool will be making their way back through San Antonio next year with a different show and new music, which I will plan to attend.

Nothing is more jaw dropping live than seeing Tool live. HEAVY, crunchy, beautiful. Primus and tool is the best combo ever. The sound was great, but reverberates off the stadium's cavernous walls, causing a muddy echo. Its tolerable but would sound much better is there was some sound absorbing foam or carpet in the at n t center. Primus was, and always is, a meltdown. Too bad they only played for 50 minutes. "Southbound Pachyderm" was epic.

Great to see the boys again, I see them whenever they are in town or the general area. The show was epic, although they really do need some new material, which they played a brief few minutes of both nights. The stage production was exceptional as always, with some really cool lasers I hadn't seen before. I've been following this band since the start in the early 90's and they seem to still enjoy doing this rock thing (Maynard's got many other interests these days) so a new album is a much welcome thing that they say will be sometime this year. Hopefully this little month long run of shows is for the band to tighten up before going into the studio for recording! Sounds like a perfect plan, see TOOL if you can!

I know it's been a while since the show, but I felt that Houston was under represented in these reviews! I've seen Tool approx. eight or nine times. This show was a little above average in terms of lighting, effects and song list. I especially enjoyed the translucent light effects screen that unveiled in front of the stage at one point. I'd never seen that used at any show. The opener was pleasantly unexpected and we all enjoyed the first Danny Carey drum solo (outside of an extended song jam) that I have ever witnessed live...awesome! I brought my two teenage boys to their first Tool show and they both were impressed and say they're going back with me on the next tour. That is, if I haven't passed on from old age by the time they get around to finishing another album....heh

Not only was it a masterpiece but how they electrified their songs was incredible. Schism was different. They added a kick to it and I loved how spicy they elaborated on the percussion. Very talented as always but this show was special. The sound engineering was remarkable! Even up in the balcony it was crystal clear digitally mastered! Imagery on the screens syncing with the music was potential and you could definitely see it perfectly. I was blown away and happy with the venue as well. The seats were easy to find and oh! The intermission? Who does that? Just like in the old days with the movies at the theater, Maynard added a 12 minute intermission for those of us who need to pee or "smoke" or hey ! I need another round to finish off the show he's making me thirsty for more! Loved it!

I'm not a die-hard Tool fan, but for some reason they were one of of my bucketlist bands to see in concert. Without really knowing what I was in for, I have to say that this was possibly the best concert I have ever been to. The visuals were trippy, huge, amazing. I didn't care that Maynard stood toward the back in the shadows. I think it added to the experience and you couldn't stop watching him. The entire band was tight. Since this was the last show of the tour, they invited The Melvins, Fantomas, Clutch, and Primus to play at this event and everyone was so good, despite some technical difficulties. Even the burning hot 100 degree sun couldn't put a damper on my day! If Tool ever comes back around, I will definitely be there.

I keep my ticket stubs for nostalgia sake. I have been to 64 arena metal shows since 1992. I saw Tool in 1998 and it was still to this day one of the best shows I'd been to. Unfortunately, this recent show was the worst I've ever been to. 1. I am a firm believer that a live show should involve some form of entertainment from the band other than the music. (I can listen to the music as loud as I want anytime I want) 2. Never should a arena metal show have seating on the floor. That being said, Maynard (one of the most influential personalities in all rock genres) stayed back near Danny (the drummer). Both guitarists were inanimate. Yay, they used laser lights, yawn! To look down and see rows of people on the floor just standing there was sickening. See picture. The energy in the arena was so flat that I actually enjoyed walking around the consession areas more than sitting in my seat.

Tool was amazing although they didn't play any songs from Undertow so that was a little disappointing as this was probably the only chance I'll get to see them. Opening band was just okay and I couldn't remember their name without looking at a picture.

The concert was amazing. My friends and I waited for Tool to come back to the Western NY area and 15 years later we were all lucky to score tickets to this sold out show. The light show paired with the music brilliantly. I was able to purchase a Tool poster (see photo) to commemorate the evening.

I saw Tool back in 2009 and they were absolutely amazing then and this time around, I feel like they absolutely topped themselves (if that's even possible)! It was an awesome show and I'm very glad I was able to experience it again!

Tool was everything and even more than you'd expect. Imagine the best audio you've ever heard of them and then multiply that by 100. They are sonically perfect with an amazing visual presentation as well. The performance is VERY intense musically and visually and certainly not for the faint of heart! Maynard, typically, shies away from the spotlight...in fact, he was behind the rear stage screen for the entire show and could only be seen in silhouette. I don't know a ton of their songs, but it doesn't matter. Each song seems to last forever and this band for me is far and above anyone else. Don't be fooled when the house lights come on after about 75 minutes and they disappear. This is vintage Tool and they build in a break into the set and they will be back for a second act. The entire performance clocked in at about 2 hours. Worth every damn penny and mile driven to see them.

This review is on the band Tool, and not the venue which I reviewed on their website. I told a friend who never heard of Tool, that they resemble Black Sabbath meets Pink Floyd. That clearly doesn't cover them as their talent and creativity is hard to label and this show again demonstrated that fact. Fun show, took my 12 year old kid who never heard of Tool and really enjoyed himself. The set list, stage show and grooves were top notch. I caught APC at Hollywood Bowl a few weeks ago, and Puscifer at Ace Theater in LA in Dec 2015, and I have much respect for Maynard and his talent. Look forward to the "upcoming" album.

I don't have the time to type every single awesome part about this show. They all sounded incredible. Whoever runs their lights is an incredible person, with such precision. The setlist was good, not the best I've seen from Tool, but still very good. Managed to get a few signed posters as well right when doors opened. Shirts are kind of expensive at $40 each. But the show itself is AMAZING. I drove 13 hours from Minneapolis to Little Rock, Arkansas for this show. No regrets at all!!

My third Tool concert wasn't the most memorable, but still a worthy show to attend. The played the usual hits, and didn't bother to tease from what might be their "new album." The band members are still in their prime, and effortlessly get a rowdy crowd going. Tool is the perfect response to what stirs your inner beast.

So I got these tickets as a Christmas present to my husband He had convinced himself that he would never get to see them even if they did happen to come here. He was thrilled when I showed him the tickets and hugged me so tight. They were in the nosebleeds but were determined to make the best of it. So January 31 comes around and we drive down to the smoothie king center super excited and expecting an amazing performance. So we sit down in our seats and listen to Primus and 3teeth. They aren't our favorite but tool is next!! So Tool takes the stage..... Without Maynard. So we tried to still enjoy the performance but ended up leaving right after they took the stage. So long story short, we were extremely disappointed that we spent all that money to see someone who wasn't even there.

Parking and concessions were overwhelmed at the venue. I got there late and it was still jammed. I had a ticket for the 2nd floor and as I walked up the stairs from the lobby, I thought I was there. Took my seat along row L and waited until a guy came along and wanted his seat. Awkward. Two seats away and row done was an empty seat. One of the few in the sold out show. I jumped down. TOOL came to life with Zeppelin's 'No Quarter' and proceeded to blast everyone with insane renditions of their work. The lasers and animation were brilliant. The venue was the perfect size - I sat on the far side of the stadium and had a fantastic view. The show lasted 100 minutes or so, including a 15 intermission and a long, amazing drum solo. TOOL ended the show with 'Stinkfist' to a roaring crowd. Or as Maynard called it, "a love song."

The light show and lasers were amazing! Awesome set list I only wish they would tour more so I can see them more! Love MJK in his tutu! The only negative is the security was SOOO strict about picture taking..you couldn't even take a selfie without them threatening to kick you out!

I have been very fortunate to have seen thousands upon thousands of bands live. I've seen some the of the best bands in the world and some of the greatest stages I may ever have a chance to go to. Out of the few thousand bands I've seen live, I might give 5 Stars to ten or so bands. TOOL is now one of them. This show floored me and I went in knowing this concert would be one of the best, and I was not disappointed. From start to finish my jaw was on the floor. The lights, the imagery, & the sheer talent of the band, puts them in a different league. The crazy thing is, I'm not even a big Tool fan. I'd call myself a casual fan, at best. So for a band to impress me that much and keep me engaged without knowing a lot of the music, is very impressive. Tool is a must see show (which I'm sure you've heard that before). If you're a concert aficionado, and you haven't seen Tool yet, then add them to your bucket list ASAP. Also, keep your eyes on the drummer, Danny Carey. It was a privilege watching that guy play. Maybe the best drummer I've ever seen live, and I've seen some of the best. Bottom line: Every awesome thing you've ever heard about Tool's live show is true.

So yeah this was the first time seeing TOOL since their 2007 Tour. I was not only happy to be at this show but I was happy to have started my new year of 2012 off with TOOL. I went with a really dear friend of mine and I had a real good time. As usual TOOL is a spiritual experience for me. I would have never known that a exactly a month later from this show my mom was going to kill herself. So this was the last show that I had seen with my mom in my life. Looking back at that now, I am happy to have a positive moment like seeing TOOL before my life turned to chaos. Maynard as usual comes correct on his vocals. I have seen TOOL so many times that seeing them each time is like the first time all over again. I feel like the stage set up in 2007 was better than this tour. I think people would agree with me that I was just happy to get the chance to see them again. I didn't think they would do another tour again for a while.

The show was amazing! I mean point blank I don't know what else to tell anybody who's thinking of going to a Tool concert. Their music was AMAZING. And the thing about Tool is the visual show that they come with, which reflected their music so fluently. Their opening act, YOB, was pretty sweet. good enough to check out but that's all on the individual listener. Pretty mellow doom metal band I can personally dig.

As always, Tool never fails to impress. They sound better now than they did when they toured Ænima. The set list was great, the light show was phenomenal, and they rocked so hard. I didn't have a voice for a good 24 hours afterward, and their new babydoll tshirt selection was exciting - dropped $ I shouldn't have on some shirts, but they're my favorite band so I couldn't help myself. Maynard, Adam, Justin and Danny - thank you. Stellar show, fantastic time, can't wait to see you all again.

Aboslutely amazing! I have loved Tool for years but for some reason never saw them in concert. I wished I had seen them sooner! The visuals and audio were the best I HAVE EVER SEEN! Vocals were clear and each insturment was audible and not overpowering like so many concerts. Also, in the quality of art I expect from Tool each song on the set list was written to flow into the next connecting three albums worth of songs into a seamless set that would make you think it was meant to be that way. If you like or love Tool and have never seen them. It's a must see! Well worth the money spent and the four hour car ride. I would do it again in a heartbeat

8th time seeing Tool live since 2002. Every tour they do gets better. Their playing seems to get tighter all the time, probably why they don't change the setlist much during a tour. It was nice seeing them play 4 songs live I have never seen in person before. The lighting & video crew deserve a lot of credit for this awesome show as well. Lasers, lights, & video all sychronized perfectly with the music. The transparent video screens provided a really cool effect too, being able to see the lighting and backdrops behind them blending with the video on the displays.

I have been listening to TOOL since their arrival into the mainstream music scene back in 1991. I had seen them perform live back in 1994 and all that I can say is that they have not lost any edge in their ability to perform and impress with their eclectic and eccentric flavors of visualization and audio ambiance. Their unique abilities to blend the often-times angelic vocals with and raw and almost earthly-nature instrumental sounds has always kept this band on the top of my favorites list.

I've waited 16 years to hear Maynard fill my ears with live greatness and he did not disappoint! Good things come to those who wait was my motto! I appreciate being older and respecting his music as a whole now. His lyrics have moved me for years and being in the same room with his craft was suffocating! This was truly the second best religious experience in my entire life as a concert goer!

They played for about 1.5 hours. I could not see the lead singer only his shadow as he never came center stage only side/behind the drummer.
