Fred Hammond
Early in 2013, Fred Hammond released "United Tenors," an album wherein the gospel giant recruited three of his peers – Brian Courtney Wilson, Dave Hollister, and Eric Robertson -- to help him deliver his brand of fresh, funky gospel to adoring fans. The album features the same vocal theatrics the multi-talented Hammond displays at his live concerts. We enjoyed Joyfest 2018 to the fullest! The 25th anniversary yeilded some great surprises like Vashawn Mitchell who did his thang! Tye, Tasha and Fred set it Off! Walls group did a good job, their fans were in the place...i think as they get more radio play they will capture a larger audience. It was awesome that Fred chose people out of crowd as a back up choir. Phenomenal is all I can say!

My seats were great, all the performers were fantastic. I loved the story line that was told as well as the old school songs that were sung. It was a amazing to see the men come forth for corporate pray but the. When the men prayed for the women!! Wow !!

I hate to give this a bad review because actuallly Fred Hammond was awesome. However the venue in Gary, Indiana is not well kept, very run down, dirty, and hot. Parking was a nightmare, our car was locked in the garage after the concert with many other concert goers and we had to call the police. Also this was a church sponsored event, the church had too many of their own performances, speeches,etc. Pushing back the main attraction, Fred! who came out at a very late hour. It was so late when he was done that people didn't even insist on an encore. Everyone just got up and left. Fred deserved an encore he did a great job.

I really enjoyed the concert but we need the headliner to have much more time. He only had played 40 minutes. I was disappointed that he seem to be rushed in his performance. The other artist were good but I think maybe they should cut out some of the other artist. My be only have 3 other performers and Fred Hammond.

I was very disappointed as I expected s concert instead got a stage play. The person I paid to see was not there and I got no notice that Hezekiah Walker was not going to be there. I would have requested a REFUND. I guess it would have been okay if I had paid to see a play but I didn't; I paid to see a concert. With all the music Donnie McClurkin had. He sung two songs. If I was him, I would break that contract.

This was more like a production. It was very good. It provided insight into the man's current situation. How we under value the man's status in todays world. It made me revalue the gentleman I am involved with. I love this production and the message it brought. Especially the motorcycle analogy. It really impactful. Thank you Fred Hammond. I have always loved Fred's music but this just raised the bar even more. I wanted to ask him to marry me but I was afraid.

Fred Hammond is an amazing artist/singer/musician but this show was anything but that! He looked/seemed tired and ready to go home the whole time. He did not perform any of his hit songs until the last 5 minutes of the show and that was a medley. Like myself I m sure people came to hear his many great songs. Instead he sat on a stool, half-sang everyone else s songs, and let the band figure out what song he was doing. It was just an overall disappointment especially for a huge Fred Hammond fan. Yes he s getting older, yes his shows back then we re probabky awesome, yes he s releasing new music but he could have given a real show! Not likely to recommend!

This show was an awesome experience. Fred Hammond ministers. He won't sing a complete song like the old days but he will minister to your spirit. He does snippets of his hits with lots of ministering and testifying in between. Marvin Sap, AWESOME! He entertains as well as ministers. They will both take you in. I hate Tye Tribbett was not able to show. Great show none the less and crowd was not disappointed.

This concert was AMAZING from beginning to ending. The choir was on point & their band was great of course. Then, the main set of guest singers with Festival of Praise were just...wow especially Karen Clark Sheard! I mean what can I say. She killed it out there! I mean this lady showed out like it was her last time & there was not a person sitting down the moment her mouth opened. She is by far the most anointed singer this side or heaven & hope she comes to put on abother concert in North Carolina very soon. Her daughter, Kierra Sheard, was great as well. They tore the roof off of the place.

Fred set the proper tone by beginning with praise requiems to the author of love. His fantasia of total praise, mixed with gleams of his personality, made it a coloratura of true praise for the duration of the concert. The romantic ballads refreshed us. They also let us know that we may have lost a Luther, Teddy, and a Gerald; but we gained a Fred in the genre of love oratorios. The world has been in suspended animation, in a holding pattern - waiting for someone who loves The Great I am, and who is on fire for Him, to declare how love really transfers into the chambers of romantic love.

Joyfest was awesome this year! From Canton Jones rocking the house all the way to Fred Hammond (true legend). The rain just made it that much more memorable. It was a great experience to worship God in the middle of a rain storm, it's undescribable. I wouldn't have wanted it to go any other way.

I really enjoyed the show. All of the artist seemed to really enjoy ministering to the people. It was very heart felt and inspirational to see so many young people enjoying the Lord on one accord! I was very impressed with efficiency and speed of the stage changes with exception of Fred Hammond..it took him too long to come on stage.. therefore I left early. I would've preferred to have another headliner because he seems to be there just about every year. Othan than that..I really enjoyed everything as a whole! Maybe we can have a little more of Tasha, VaShawn, and another incredible line up for next year!!

I have been attending the Joy Fest for about 5 years, but I have never seen such short performances by artist. The performers would start into a song and abruptly cut them off short. How could they sell the audience this short? Just when you would start to enjoy a hit song, it would be over. Terrible! The artist always would perform their hit songs in its entirety, why else would the audience be there? I could not believe even my husband's idol Fred Hammond did the same thing. I thought maybe just with so many performers scheduled, that they were attempting to make sure Fred Hammond had enough time. Nope! He left the stage at 9:30 pm as well, well short of any performance that I had seen. never since I have been coming to the shows has that happened. Fred Hammond was always reliable to give a good performance. After Saturday's what I call (incompleteness) I will not be back.

Firstly, I believe that the James L Knight Center needs a complete overhaul. The place has not changed since it was built. There are no big screens to see the show from the upper sections, the stage is very small and the screen behind it has several columns running through it, the sound is muffled and the seats on the floor were so close together, it was difficult to sit comfortably without sitting on top of each other. As a believer, I understand how important it is to preach the word, so I didn't mind that they didn't sing many of their hits and focused on evangelising, but a better balance would have been my preference.

Festival of Praise was phenomenal a must see. From the beginning to the end everything was amazing and just wonderfully put together. I've never seen a concert like that before.

The event was all that I hoped it to be! Both Fred and Donnie are anointed Men of God. Their voices, their testimonies, the music and even the staging all contributed to an exhilarating experience. Would recommend to anyone.

This concert was more of a church service with great singing, awesome testimonies of God's healing power from Fred and Donnie, an opportunity to give to children in need via World Vision. We were praising God one minute and drawn into worship the next. Fred and Donnie were on stage together the entire time and it was AMAZING!

I am a big fan of Fred Hammond and totally enjoyed the performance. I wasn't a huge fan of Donnie McClurkin at first, BUT now I can say I am more aware of his vocal ministry and songs I liked that I previously didn't know were his songs. #Victorious

I don t know if it was the songs that I thought Donnie & Fred were going to sing that was being streamed as find your seat music or maybe when a band did appear the music was too loud or the opening act singers who open with prerecorded music to songs I did not know. However, it was a nice surprise to hear the kids sing. I did not know Donnie had children. Maybe it was that distracting movie or when they stopped the concert to feed the world. All in all, they are both superb singers in any venue but I was too distracted and there was no praise. I missed my praise should have gone to church\u2026\u2026.

These folks really had a praise party! We were moving all night and enjoying God at the same time. It was worth every dollar. It only got 4 stars because I and lots of others did not seem to enjoy their skit. It was too long.

This was our 1st time seeing the FOP show but definitely not our last, cant beat the price & the location was closed to our home in Durham NC & plus our son goes to A & T so we saw him after the show.
