Great to see them at the Fillmore since we had to go to Sacramento to Ace of Spades to see them last year. Band was extremely high energy as were the openers Romes and Colony House. Songs and sound were fantastic, if a little loud. The lighting was the best of any of the 50+ shows I have seen at the Fillmore in the past 12 years. The entire stage, instruments and band were all in white so the stuff they projected on the stage was very immersive and was totally synced up with the lights and staging. Only issue was that there were dual projectors doing some sort of 3D or stereoscopic projection and it did make my wife a little nauseous as happens to some people at 3D movies.

Mutemath put on such an amazing show!!! The venue is small so it's very intimate, which I loved. You have a good and close view from anywhere you are standing. The opening band, Paper Route was so so good too. I've been a fan of theirs for a long while and it was my first time seeing them as well.

There arent to many rock shows that leave you in a place of awe. As Tall as Lions brought it, and Mutemath brought it that much more. If this show comes within a few hundred miles of you, do yourself a favor and go. Best rock show I've ever seen.

Ok I've seen some pretty good shows in my day(Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Nirvana....) but Mute Math takes it to a totally new level. I'm not actually saying that they are better than any of the bands I've mentioned, but performing live they are the best by far. Freakin Awesome!!!!

Mute Math put on an amazing, well received show last night at Cleveland's House of Blues. They played several songs from their new CD called Armistice. And ended the raucous set with "Typical" their hit from the first CD. The encore included "Reset" and band and audience were very happy from beginning to end. The House was about 3/4 full.

This is the third time i have seen MuteMath and they get better every time. The vocals are as good as CD quality, the drummer is fiercely entertaining, the bassist used a stand up bass at certain points... overall the sound quality was awesome and the band members put on a great show. Very unique performance & band!!

Mutemath is one of the best band to see live. The new album Armistice is really well done and sounds fantastic. I loved how Rebirth was incorporated into the show. The show was energizing and refreshing. I cannot wait to see them in October at Voodoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was a lot of feedback during the show and the mix for most of the show wasn't what it should have been. Most of the time you couldn't hear what they were singing. I will say the band put on a good performance but the audio problems were overly distracting to me. I also noticed many of the lights weren't working so it made for an uneven light show as well.

I knew only a few MuteMath songs before going to the show. I am a now a true fan. I don't go to shows for a repeat of the cd. If I want to hear a studio album, I'll listen to the cd at home. MuteMath is a jam band - in every sense of the word. My Doors comment may seem like an over-statement, but I'm not saying they're up there channeling Jim Morrison. The entire band brings this intensity that is greater than the sum of their parts - synergy might be a good word, but it's so overused these days. The show downright rocked my face off. I certainly recommend it to any fan of rock - be it the newest alternative, "classic" alternative, or even classic rock. Their level of talent is quite evident in their live show. Don't miss this one. You won't be sorry that you went. You'll end up a fan as well. Have fun.

Have been to many a concert / show / fair, etc. And haven't seen anything quite like MuteMath. Been to every Seattle show they have played PLUS!! Have never been disappointed. There are those who have not been too impressed with the "idea" of attending a MuteMath show and then once there, have been converted forever. MuteMath doesn't just give a concert, they provide an experience!!

I have only been able to see MuteMath once before this concert. The first concert blew me away. This second concert completely floored me! It was AMAZING! I have been to a LOT of concerts, and MuteMath is my favorite! They are ALWAYS better live and they have an energy that I have never seen in any other band. They have such passion for their music and they totally have a blast while up on stage. This concert felt so much more intimate than others I have been to and I really felt the connection between the band and the audience. Afterwards, a few of us even got to hang outside with the band, just talk, and have a few laughs. I had the BEST concert experience ever with MuteMath. They will always be my favorite band ever!

This was, without question, one of the best small venue performances I've ever seen. MuteMath knows how to rock the house and nailed every single note perfectly. From the first few bars of "the Nerve" to the closing finale of "Reset" and "Break the Same" my eyes were glued to the stage and my ears were loving every minute of it. MuteMath has been putting on great shows for years, and they haven't stopped yet! Their shows are so upbeat and the crowd cant help but to get involved. Paul Meany's vocals are great and the array of instruments the band uses brings a lot of variety to the stage. Darren King on the drum kit will blow your mind, and he'll even venture around the stage and into the crowd to drop his beats. If you have the chance you must take the time to check out this band. The experience you gain will be well worth the money, and I bet you'll come back for more!

I've seen both ATAL and Mutemath several times and each time I am blown away. They really are very fun to watch, great show, dymanic use of the stage, multiple instruments and remixes/totally different versions of their songs. Great bands, I wish them continued success. Boston was the last stop for ATAL. Don't know who is opening for Mutemath after 11/12. Mutemath - Reset.... this song is unbelievable live, it just builds on itself and the band always lets the crowd get invovled, whether they bring people on stage, or if they leap out into the crowd. TIP: If you have weak arms; stay out of the front rows:)

This concert was fantastic. The sound was impeccable, the lights and energy they created ruled the whole place. They played almost all their songs, leaving out only a few. I've been a Mutemath fan for the past few years. I like their new album and was excited to hear their music live for the first time. Honestly, I expected a lot of electronic backup - pads, samples etc. Their ability to engage the crowd and really *play* their music was outstanding. They are one of those unusually creative groups of musicians that do more than stand on stage and plunk on a guitar or beat on a drum. Very entertaining performance and the crowd was absolutely into it - on a Wednesday night!

Mutemath is an incredible band, their music is great and their live show is something everyone needs to see. They've upped their production this year and their set looks great and the band sounds great live. There is never a dull moment and the crowd is on their feet from the opening song till the band walks off the stage. If you can check them out before this tour is over, you definitely need to. If not, start looking ahead at their 2010 dates!

The mutemath show was quite entertaining. I had seen them three times before, and was concerned if they could captivate a larger assigned seated audience like they do an intimate crowded venue. Needless to say, they are pretty nuts on stage. However, some of the intensity is lost in a bigger venue like that, and they're method of compensation was to jack up the kick drum and bass. The low end sound in this show was so incredibly deafening, that I started getting a massive head ache. I enjoy LOUD music, but this wasn't an issue of a loud mix, it was an issue of a BAD mix. The low end faker is what I call it. Where the engineer tries to trick you into feeling more excitement by BLASTING the kick drum and bass riffs. What results is a muddy mix with hard-to-hear vocals and piercing electric ideas (just to get pronounced over the lows!) Overall, MuteMath is destined for great things. They had creative elements in the show, great energy, and good songs! Now they just need a new FOH engineer!

I am a big MUTEMATH fan. I saw these guys last time they came to dallas, and that was the best show i had ever been to. This time, they topped their last show 10 times over! Not only are they brilliant musicians, they also really know how to put on a good show. The songs were better, the band interaction was better, and they seemed a whole lot more confident in general. They had some new instruments, like a vibraphone (at least i didnt notice it before) and electronic drums that were played by touching a projection. I was about 5 people from the stage, in the center. it was well worth getting there 2 1/2 hours before they opened the doors. The venue has a pretty flat floor, so it was difficult to see everything at once. but i still got to grab the atari (electronic instrument), catch the drummer as he fell into the crowd, and witness Paul Meany's unforgettable way of flipping over his keyboard. The sound was better than last time...i could survive without earplugs, and i could hear the different layers of sound more clearly. The band has so much energy, and after the encore everything just got way more intense! They were moving around stage more and played some favorites from their debut album, which really excited the fans (including me!). I love how they play each other's instruments throughout the show...i've seen other bands do that and it's usually awkward and confusing, but mutemath does it flawlessly, which makes for a very entertaining experience! Even if you're not a big fan, i recommend seeing mutemath to everyone!

This is my first time seeing Mute Math live in concert (I have been listening to Paul Meany since he was a part of Earthsuit). It is top on my list as far as favorite concerts I have been to. The venue, Club Nokia, was very nice. It was wide open, felt like there as a lot of space, and the ambient feeling inside there was a warm and welcoming. As Tall As Lions opened for Mute Math, previous to this show I have never heard of them, they were very impressive with their sound and togetherness. Mute Math took the stage and right from the start took the audience captive. They were completely lost within the music while still having fun and engaging the audience. Their sound and musical talent blew me away. I would love to see another Mute Math show in the near and far future (as long as they keep coming around). I recommend this to everyone from any musical preference or taste.

I have been to many concerts, and have never seen a more entertaining band live, they are truly talented and dedicated. I would recommend them to everyone and anyone, people really need to discover their music and talent. I'm 22 and my mom has even been to a few shows, I guess that says a lot. I believe they appeal to all types. They are by far my favorite band.

if jumping off hiss piano isn't enough. try some a hand stands on top of the piano. MuteMath is def the most energetic band that i've ever seen live. at the beginning of the show the drummer taped his headphones to his head. I was wondering why he did this but after seeing the show it made perfect sense. The drummer at one point took his floor tom and got the crowd to hold it in the air and then climbed on top of it. He was crawling all over his drum set. These guys were all over the stage jumping and rolling around.

I've gone to many concerts, but none are like MuteMath concerts. It's not a boring, stand around type performance. Alternative and awesome. They use more gear and instruments than you can imagine. Their drummer, Darren King, is a beast. Tapes headphones to his head using duct tape - the whole audience knows the concert starts when they see those headphones going on. Their bassist, Roy Mitchell-Cardenas is considered to be one of the top 10 bassists and plays a ton of other instruments, too. Todd Gunderson plays guitar, pedals, keys, and so much. I don't know how he does it. The lead singer, Paul Meany, takes charge of the crowd immediately. Jumping around, interacting with the crowd, playing keys, synths, keytar, and a device he calls an Atari (made with a sound chip from an Atari game). Highlights of the show: Paul standing on top of his piano, playing keytar. Darren killing it on the drums - so much he usually breaks some of his sticks. Darren going into the audience with his High 5 gloves that trigger his drums. He gives one glove each to 5 lucky people in the front row. When he pats each glove, his drums play! Paul jumps off the stage a few times. He also holds his Atari over the crowd while everyone passes it along and plays it. Paul jumping onto a giant blinking inflatable mattress and surfing the crowd while he sings. Amazing lights - LED's that are perfectly timed with the entire show. Fantastic.

This band is one of the best I've EVER seen, everyone knows the best majority of bands don't sound even close to how they sound on their albums, well these guys the the absolute exception!! Not only do they sound AMAZING live, they are masters of showmanship, coming onto the stage from the mainfloor of then venue with all of them playing a solid purcusion line while under a banner of stringed lights. And that was just the begining!! Bottom line, this is one band that must be experenced live AT LEAST once in your life time!!

This is my fourth time seeing MUTEMATH live and they get better every time. From their powerful, energy-packed performance to jumping into the crowd via a lit inflatable mattress, this band knows how to put on an entertaining rock show. I loved at the end of their 25 song set (which is unheard of these days), they jumped down and shook hands and gave hugs to the fans. They really appreciate the support, and we fans appreciate the effort they put into their live performance.

YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS BAND! I've been ruined...after seeing them I will never hear a concert as good as theirs. All 4 of the guys are the best musicians you'll hear. The drummer, Darren King, is a beast - non-stop killer sound! He actually takes his set apart, carries it into the audience, STANDS on it AND PLAYS it! Think that's something? The lead singer, Paul Meany, does flips over his organ, crowd surfs on a giant blinking mattress, plays a keytar (a keyboard he plays like a guitar), and takes something called an "Atari" that he made from a video game chip, and totally takes over the stage. The bassist? Roy Mitchell-Cardenas makes it looks easy - and trust me - it's not! I read that he is one of the top bassists in the US. Their new guitarist, Todd, plays keys, too. All of the guys play each other's instruments. Who can top that? I'm going to spoil it, I guess, but the crowd gets showered with confetti! Not once, but a few times during the show! For a solid 2 hours of music, crazy fun, and...I'm not sure how to put it. The concert's not that expensive, either. You will never forget the experience. They're touring, and I want to follow them to the next location if I could. Seeing them once is just not enough.

They did not disappoint, as always. They are one of the best live acts I have ever seen (I average about 20 shows a year, not including festivals). They are a DEFINITE band to look out for if they come anywhere near your city.

I am not exaggerating when I say MUTEMATH was the best concert I have ever been to, period. It was so good, my brother and I said after the show, we never wanted to go to another concert again, unless it was theirs. I would have paid double the price I paid for my ticket for that concert. They were all fantastic performers, and the show they put on was mind-blowing.

I first saw Mutemath last year when they opened for 30 seconds to mars. I thought they were better. It was great to see them headlining their own show and pulling out all of the stops. If you ever have the chance to see them, do it! You will not regret it. They are so energetic and you can tell they love what they do. Not to mention the music is amazing.

This is the third time I've seen Mutemath at The Pageant and it certainly won't be my last. They are absolutely amazing on stage. I've seen U2. I've seen the Eagles. I've seen Jimmy Buffett. This concert topped them all. So glad they had two hours to play. Last time, when they opened for 30 Seconds to Mars, they got about 45 minutes. They did great, but it sucked that 30STM cut them short. We left after about two 30STM songs.

Honestly, this was the best concert i've ever been to. Despite the dumb Chicago ordinance, the night was magical. The band really cares about their fans, and want to put on a good show, but they really have fun doing it. SEE MUTEMATH BEFORE YOU DIE!

Interpol
The title pretty much says it all. In the last year I've seen Interpol, School of Seven Bells, White Lies, Death Cab, White Denim, Los Campesinos, Manchester Orchestra, Little Hurricane, and Parenthetical Girls. Of those shows (not to mention just about any other rock show I've been to), MUTEMATH was definitely the best. I would rate it as one of the three best shows I've ever attended. The band is incredibly talented, gives everything they have on stage, and brings the audience into the show by interacting with them on a level I've never experienced before: Three members of the band crowd-surfed, some in the audience got to "play" with the band (a theramin-like instrument was held-out to the audience by front man Paul Meany, and those close enough were able to play it). If you're a fan if Indie rock, I guarantee you will not be disappointed. After two hours and fifteen minutes and twenty-six songs, I know I wasn't.

I attended this concert with high expectations and was NOT disappointed! If you've never seen Mutemath in concert, you've missed out on a truly great experience. When these guys are done, they've left everything they have on the stage. Great musicians, tight, exciting, and talk about getting involved with the audience...once you've seen Mutemath, you'll never miss another chance to see them.

First off, I'm truthfully amazed that this band is playing on such small venues. There are few bands these days that pour their hearts and (odd) souls into live stage performances. Mutemath's stage presence was powerful and very involved when incorporating their audience. Easily the best show, concert or otherwise, that I've seen in downtown San Diego. Thank you Mutemath!

This was truly an amazing performance! Every detail from the entrance to the stage new Orleans style, the backdrop screen and light show complimented the tremendous show delivered by these gifted performers. I've seen them before for a set at Coachella and was immediately hooked. Waited almost two years to see MuteMath again and they did not disappoint. Also, thoroughly enjoyed the venue! It was the first time and we went and sat in VIP seats. There's nothing better than sitting in the balcony and being served cocktails while enjoying the evening. Will definitely check to see who's playing their in the future! :D

This was my thrid MuteMath show and somehow they managed to topped their previous ones! It was absolutely phenominal. Creative out the roof! The music was perfect, the sound incredible, the lights, the stage design and media, the performance itself was awesome-they are great performers, and not at the expense of their music-I can't think of a single thing to be improved upon. Defnitely check out their music and go to a show as well!

Mutemath's show was absolutely jaw-dropping. It was immersive, sucking you into the groove and emotional swells, carrying you mentally into another place. Great auditory art at its finest. The second opening band, Colony House put on a great performance as well. They presented a late 50's/early 60's sound mixed with indie rock. Great stuff. The first opener, Romes... Think boy band in black leather meets early Police. Probably a stronger appeal to younger, female audience. Still, not a bad fit for this tour. Catchy music. Everything you would expect from aforementioned description.

This was my wife's and my 4th time seeing Mutemath. The first two concerts, in 2012, were some of the best concerts we have ever been too. The band was full of energy, Darren King was endlessly entertaining, and everyone had a blast. These last two concerts have been quite disappointing. Their music post-Odd Soul lost a lot of the rhythm and pace that made their old music great. Losing Darren King was the final blow. He added so much to the performance and it just isn't the same with him gone. Mutemath played a full set, but only played 3 or 4 songs from Odd Soul or before, and when they did play their original hits, the songs were dramatically changed (slowed down) so they lost their effect. Such a bummer. The band also wore all white outfits, which is fine. But when it was combined with the singer's shaved head, and the fact that he had an elderly black man to come out on stage and slowly dance during one song, well, it was unsettling to say the least.

This is the 5th time I've seen Mutemath live and they never disappoint! Amazing band and very energetic in the way they translate songs live. They had a great mix of new and old material. Paul Meany whipped out the classic keytar on Noticed and a couple other songs. It was fun watching Roy and Todd swap instruments going from keys to guitar depending on the song, and of course Darren tore it up on the drums! Loved the custom electronic drum set up he had with audience members holding up some type of glove that lit up on impact. Can't recommend Mutemath more. Check 'em out!

I've been a fan of Mutemath for just a few months now, and I've gotten really into them. I've watched their live videos and music videos, but nothing compares to seeing them in person and on stage, jamming their hearts out. Darren absolutely killed it and Paul was so much fun to watch. These guys are extremely creative and unique, and they're a blast to see.

One of my biggest pet peeves of musical artists is when they talk and try to be profound. They always end up sounding dumb. Paul Meany never spoke and the band just jammed out for 2 solid hours. It was perfect! It was amazing! It was everything I'd hoped it was going to be! I can't believe they were in such a small venue. I felt like I was in a private club! I can't believe tix were only thirty bucks. These guys are extremely talented musicians. They worked their azzes off up there! Sweat dripping. Long jam sessions. These guys are performers. They are giving you everything they got. They love what they do and it shows. Omg, it was dang near a religious experience. Love, love, loved it! Love these guys!

I only gave 4 stars because it was not quite as good as the Odd Soul tour back in 2012. They did not do as much of the creative stuff throughout the concert and it was more of just playing all the songs. But since their music is awesome that's still ok, and they still had some of the creative stuff such as high-five drumming with the audience. If you have never seen Mutemath, I highly recommend it. They're my favorite band and always put on a great performance for at least 2 solid hours. We were right behind the sound table and they had a song counter and they played 23 songs!

Mutemath played a fantastic mix of their old and new songs. I was so impressed that the live music is just as good and complex and high quality as their digital music. They interacted with the audience and let our voices come through in the songs. It was my friend's first concert - she had never heard of Mutemath before this - and she absolutely loved it! We were dancing to the strong rhythm the whole time. These musicians put a great deal of care, passion, and development into their music.

I have to say as musicians I truly love these guys. Unfortunately the sounds was way off. Vocals were too low. The new album is a lot more layered and not as energetic which isn't bad but you need better vocals so it doesn't get lost. Maybe it was just the venue which is really disappointing because I love the Newport. I will be seeing them again at lollapalooza and I'm hoping it is much better. I will give them 4 stars because I do love them but I was a little disappointed.
