Too Short

The stage name Too Short is a bit of an oxymoron for a rapper who launched his career in the early 1980s and continues to impress audiences with songs like "The Ghetto" and "Blow the Whistle." One of the major pioneers of West Coast rap, Too Short has maintained a productive career for over three decades. The legendary emcee performs infrequently, yet tickets to his shows are a hot commodity as fans line up to hear his extensive musical works that span 19 albums, 10 of which have earned gold or platinum status. No tour has been announced for 2014, although Too Short is expected to perform a concert or two over the course of the year.

This show was amazing! They brought back artists I haven't heard in ages! Digital Underground was by far the best. And Warren G made a surprise appearence which was awesome. You didn't even notice that Ja Rule wasn't there because of all the talent that was on stage. Too $hort was great as well, he played hits from back in the 80's which he never does anymore. All-in-all great job KDAY there is a reason why you are my favorite LA station!

yes it was very crowded and he didnt come out till12 but i really think it was all worth it. the ticket wasnt even that much so i think we payed for what we got. i will go to another too short concert as long as i no his opening performers are either better or barely shown. i had a lot of fun. him being there for his fans on his birthday alone was a privelege for all of us!!!! i think we need to give him just aa bit more credit

After suffering through about 8 amateur opening acts, I finally had to leave at half past midnight; Too Short was no where in sight. I shell out good money for two tickets and never got to see the guy I paid to see, and had to patiently piss away 4 hours of my time with the other performers. If it wasn't Mother's Day, I could have waited till 3am to see if he ever showed, but I figured 12:30 with no star was late enough.

Too Short had too many opening acts. The show was suppose to start at 8pm. His openers did not get on stage until 9pm and Too Short did not get on stage until midnight and only performed 4 songs. I was not impressed. Would not go to the venue again and or see Too Short again. It was a waste of money.

I usually don't write reviews but this had to be one of the biggest let downs. I love Too Short am all his early music but this concert was a total bust. I wasn't a huge fan of his new album but i figured it would be a fun show since most of his other songs were great. He didn't go on stage until about 12:30am and the concert was scheduled to begin at 9pm. it seemed like the entire production of the concert was half ass. He had about 25 random friends on stage with him who he kept passing the Mic off to. I had no idea who these people were and it wasn't very good. I was super bummed about the whole performance because i didn't feel any love or passion from too Short. Unfortunately i won't be going to see short dogg ever again :(

The performance was cool, but when I purchased my ticket for a concert, I expected to sit down and enjoy it. With any concert at Center Stage, doors open early for those who chose to come early and get good seat. That was my plan, but upon arrival it was moved to the building next door- The Loft and they were no way ready to let me come in as the Stage would have been for a scheduled concert. And a seat?- sit and not see the concert was the only choice given. Actually, I would call this a party with a performance and not a concert. Do I get refund money? Lastly- Too Short didn't say "B^%@H" enough and we all know that's trademark!

The opening acts were entertaining and the DJ's played some great music.....mostly old school rap. Unfortunately, I cannot remember their names. Too Short with the live band really delivered. I was expecting the show to be held at Center Stage, but it was held next door at The Loft instead. There were no seats. We stood directly in front of the stage, so it was cool. My fave moment was when Short started reminiscing on Atlanta and started crying. Then he was like "Deez real tears, nicca!" It was hilarious, but it was also time to go. That's when I made my exit.

Too Short is my all time favorite. I was so pumped to see him. He came out late as F. Then to only sing myabe a good 3 songs and let the music play as he pretty much left the stage. Sorry think it was my first and last time seeing him.

I found the main event, Too Short, to be less than what I expected. Sure, I knew he would be high, but I didn't think he would be so high that he would rap a total of 7 songs with breaks in between for who knows what reason. Then, I assume there were technical difficulties and it seems that he roamed off stage after rapping the song halfway without music. I will say that most of the song he performed were to my liking, but the demeanor and performance as a whole was unacceptable. --- The opening acts were pretty good except for the one right before Too Short came on.... they just sucked....

A legend such as too short has so many songs the event should have done a sound check and make sure they have at least 15 songs ready to play instrumentials to so the performance could flow with out those sound breaks where the sound went out that was not good.........sound systems & tech's need to prepare for the worst......

Too Short came on about 11:00-11:30 PM after having not such good acts before him to entertain the crowd. Too Short did a few songs that was good but was to high or drunk to continue. He sat behind DJ both with his saff who appeared to be giving him water and towel. The crowd began departing after just listening to the DJ play songs and Too Short doing nothing.

This was a great concert. There were special guest stars like Warren G and Suga Free. That was awesome! Digital Underground was the bomb! I give props to Xzibit he does a good show. I was there to see Digital Underground primarily, but every performer was incredible. I had an awesome time. My only complaint is that this event only takes place once a year. This year's Krush Groove was good with all considered. The performances were good and it was good to see OG groups like Digital Underground. The assortment of talents chosen was initially questionable; but the total show was a plus given the assortment. I would have liked to have seen more special guests besides the usual Warren G., and I would have liked it if Too Short wasn't as crude in his statements and performances; while apparently needing his love of the "B" word to be mandatory in showing he is a great rapper. I think Too Short could have been more respectable and still received just as much praise, if not more from the audience as a whole.

Too Short was great. He has great stage presence and does a good show. 8 Ball and MJG were good, although I would have like to hear more of their radio-friendly cuts. Couldn't stick around for Trick Trick because local entertainment took up a ton of time. Lots of crowd fights (with girls mostly) sucked, but it was overall great. Love Too Short in concert, can't wait to see him perform again. Stretch Money was actually pretty good too and DJ Fingaz mixed up some pretty good songs.

It took much too long for too short to perform, and the people that you had performing before him were not good enough to keep anyones attention. Plus you have no seating. I was told that the show started at 8:00pm. Too short did not appear until 11:30pm. This is much too long to have people standing. especially when you have no qualified entertainers to perform.

The stage and presentation was horrible. I was surprised the facility allowed this event to be displayed this way. It looked so low class, in what is supposed to be a classy facility. Disappointing. Also, only DJ Quik and Too Short performed an adequate mix of their favorites.

These tickets were very expensive. My two friends and I have been Too Short fans for a long time, finally we got a chance to see him live! This show was exceptionally crappy or we just don't understand how hip hop shows work. Too Short was very late to arrive/perform. Too Short performed for less than a half hour and then literally the music stopped. No explanation, no good night, no thanks for coming out, nothing, just silence. After a few minutes of people gathering on stage the group exited the stage and the lights came on. We were pissed. However, when he was on stage it was great... for approx. 28 minutes. This money would have been better spent on beer. Too Short, your set was, well, too short. Bummed.

Was a little worried at first because of other reviews I read..but tickets were a gift from my brother..we had dinner there which was delicious! The tickets we had said vip and cost a little more but I don't think its necessary to pay more because we asked our waitress for one of the tables in the front and she gave us exactly what we wanted without even looking at our tix..I was totally satisfied with too shorts performance my husband is a big fan and he was happy!

This was THE worst show that I've EVER been to. He showed up 3 hours late. the openers were way better than Too Short. It turned into a giant DJ fest, I didn't pay to see some DJ I paid to see too short. In the time that we were waiting listening to this DJ, 3 fights broke out. When he finally showed up he did a few half-assed songs then walked off the stage. He was clearly intoxicated. He didn't do any of his hit songs. It was a total waste of time and money. I was very disappointed. Do not bother seeing this guy. even if the tickets were free i wouldn't see him.

Long time fan... first time was gonna see him. We showed up, he didn't.
