Rise Against

RISE AGAINST IN CONCERT: DON'T MISS YOUR CHANCE TO SEE RISE AGAINST ON TOUR IN 2017Chicago rockers Rise Against combine passionate political messages with no-holds-barred rock aggression.  At their live shows the band performs hard-hitting anthems like "Savior" and "Re-Education (Through Labor)” against a backdrop of swirling lights and bold visuals that perfectly complement their frenetic onstage energy. Front man Tim McIlrath cuts a commanding figure on stage, holding the crowd in the palm of his hand as he leads the band through salvos about everything from politics and the environment to animal rights and vegetarianism. Prepare to witness plenty of fans head banging and rocking out as the band tears through marathon sets of their forceful yet catchy-as-heck songs on tour.

I've never heard of Biffy, but they opened really well. As far as Rise goes, it was a much different experience than when I saw them at pops with Rancid. The vocals were wrecked. Tim had a bit of a culty preachy vibe happening for a bit, which threw me off. But then, I wasn't the audience he was sending the message to. I got over that stuff real fast as they played a fantastic mix of their songs. Swing life away, good left undone, survive, and my daughter was so happy to have them end with savior ( her fave and she thought they were not gonna play the song she wanted to hear the most). Also, The venue was fantastic.

This was an awesome show all the way around. I had never seen Billy Talant. Thought they roocked, they definately didn't suck!! And Rancid....What do you write about some of the founders of this style of music? They were incredible!! And Rise Against...Still rocking it, with a message! It was great to see them play old school stuff as well as new stuff. If you even remotely like Rise Against...run to see them. You won't be disappointed.

I know that rancid was technically one of the opening acts, but to me this show was always a rancid concert with rise against and billy talent playing at it too. Rancid is legendary and they sounded absolutely amazing. The pit was so much fun. I'm stoked to see rancid the next time they come to Seattle and scream Roots Radical at the top of my lungs all over again.

So @ the Wamu theater in Seattle is a great place to see a show. The sound is usually pretty good there, they have he seats far enough back but still close enough to the stage that people who just want to sit and watch can, while the rest of us have plenty of space to stand, jump up and down, and occasionally mosh. Billy Talent (Who I had never heard of) from Toronto were really good, and it turns out I actually knew 2 of their songs, even though I didn't know who they were. Great opener. Rancid was solid, and even inspired me to get in the pit a couple times. Towards the end of their set though, it seemed like the energy may have dropped a little. Then came Rise Against... They were incredible! I had high expectations and they did not disappoint. Song after song, done perfectly. Lots of energy. Even though I was standing towards the side of the stage (great view, just deaf in one ear now) where some of the people were just standing around, they had me pumping my fist in the air and jumping up and down like I was in the mob in the middle. During Hero of War, a song I didn't like until this show, you coud feel the emotion as they played it. It as very cool. Dancing for Rain was done so well with the intro being played slowly at first on piano that I was blown away. They didn't play Life Less Frightening or Injection, but most of my other favorites were played and played perfectly. They were so tight, that they added change ups and extended break downs most likely to let everyone know that they were not playing along with their record. This show would get 5 stars were it not for the fact that the time between Rancid and Rise Against was WAY too long, and the loss of energy during Rancid's set preceding the break anyway.

The sound quality of Rise Against was so terrible and far too loud. It sounded like a muddled mess and songs were completely urecognizable. The melodic punk and the strong vocals that make Rise Against a decent act were not there at all. MAJOR disappointment. The only thing that saved it was Rancid. They've still got it and put on a hell of a show and sounded 1,000 times better than RA.

Show was awesome! I love Rise against and I had listened to Rancid back in high school and never got to see them then so it was great to see them, they still rock! Billy Talent is a really great punk band also, if you haven't heard them before check them out, they're almost as good as the other two,

Rise against finally made it back to Seattle! Billy Talent rocked pretty good, what can you say about Rancid. It felt great to be able to see them in such a great venue. They are still one of the most important bands to ever play and still have every ounce of energy they have always had. Rise Against knocked it out of the park. I think that they put on one of the best shows that i've ever been to. Start to finish, a perfect blend of like minded people, audience and band who gave it all and had a blast doing it.

Though Rise Against was the head liner Rancid stole the show like always. Billy Talent was a fantastic opener with a lot of energy and got the crowd moving. Rise Against wasn't awesome in my opinion, but then again I've never really been a fan of theirs.

I love billy talent, rancid and rise against. I heard from a friend in Wisconsin that Rancid sucked and it was all new stuff but at the Seattle show they played plenty of old stuff and a ton of songs from And Out Come The Wolves. Way awesome. But their new stuff still sucks.. Rise Against was so incredible. There were 2 pits going on at once and the whole crowd up front was awesome. 98% percent of the people there were awesome. You will always have a few jerks in there. But it was super awesome. Rise against played an incredible show. SO good.

This concert was amazing; I love Rise Against they are my favorite band and I was so excited to see them live. I don't even know how to describe it. My husband has never been to a concert in his life so when we went he was like a kid in a candy store. The building wasn't too crowdy and there was plenty of parking. I had a lot of fun and I will never forget that night.

I wish this tour had come to Portland, but other than that it was amazing. Billy Talent was alright. Some people were really into them. I didn't really know their stuff. Rancid and Rise Against are in my top 5 favorites though. I thought I was getting to old for the pit, but I couldn't resist for the Rancid set. Much fun singing along and dancing in circles. I wasn't super stoked on the Rancid setlist. They didn't do some of my favorites, but I was still singing along to every one. Rise Against played a lot of new stuff with one or two off each of the older albums. Really good and lots of energy.

I have been wanting to see Rise Against for about 6 years now. I am so excited to have been able to go. I took my best friend with me and we had so much fun. He kept me from going home with my leg in a cast again like I did at another concert. I can't wait for them to come back to the Houston area again. They are an amazing band who are passionate, avalible to their fans, and use their voice to try and make a difference. I love their involvement in animal rights, trying to get people involved to make a difference, and their strong support to get out, register, and vote. They are all in all amazing. I hope they stay true to who they are and what they are about.

This was my 4th time seeing ADTR, and that is why I mainly went. If you have never seen ADTR, i'd highly suggest going! :) They always put on a super intense show, and by intense I really mean it. Jeremy had people surf on crowd surfers. I have NEVER experienced that! They always throw toilet paper and beach balls out during either All Signs... or All I Want. And of course, Jeremy gets in his hamster ball during Homesick. They are seriously my favorite band EVER and they never seem to fail to amaze me! Only dissapointment was when they didnt play This Is The House That Doubt Built and Mr. Highway's Thinking About The End. :(

The Menzingers... are whatever... actually sound a lot like Rise Against.. But ADTR and Rise Against just took the show. ADTR played about 15, and Rise Against did 21. The Menzingers (whom I hadn't heard of) were pretty good. A Day to Remember had their largest indoor concert, and I personally consider it the best of the night. This was probably my 10th time seeing Rise Against, and as usual, they killed it. Being a Chicago native, I was fortunate enough to see them as they started out and played more small and intimate venues, however, their energy level creates an incredible atmosphere in itself, even at the bigger shows. My friend and I lucked out by scoring some VIP passes from some gentlemen leaving the show, so we were able to watch RA from above in a less crowded and heated area (even though it was still in the 100's from the Vegas heat). Deftones did a great job as well, along with Thrice and the other opener (did not catch their names).

Everything was amazing. We had an incredible time overall. We bought GA floor tickets and were like 1 or 2 ppl from the rail. The only draw back to venue was that the main sets on speakers were directly above us so it was difficult to understand at times. If the speakers were moved back I think that would solve it

I didn't care for anyone before them, though I had friends that were really into Killswitch Engage and Chevelle. I did appreciate that Killswitch stopped playing to make sure someone in the pit was okay, while Chevelle ignored someone getting walked out with blood dripping down his face. Anyway, Rise Against was better live than I expected them to be and they were even amusing when joking around, talking about Pittsburgh and so forth. I would definitely recommend that anyone that just likes their music, to some degree, see them.

Absolutely incredible show! Killswitch, Chevelle, and Rise totally ROCKED. The weather was miserable but at least they had water hoses to spray the crowd.

Let Live killed it! It's always good to get an autograph cheap too! I scored an autographed cd of Rise Against new album for just the price of the CD. X-fest needs to be annual no layoffs!

Got to the show late, but Chevelle and Rise Against did not disappoint. 100% will not miss either band the next time they come to town

my 4th Rise Against show - crowd was enthusiastic as always, lots of body surfing, very energetic. 1st time to see a show at Festival Pier - great locale, although parking is a bit far, but enjoyed the (sand around kiosks that served beer or food) plenty of port o potties. sounded great as well. no seating, but everyone was dancing anyway, so not needed.

Real quick note: ADTR and The Metzingers are really good bands and I enjoyed them but... ...Rise Against is the only band I was interested in seeing. I saw them for the first time in July 2009 at the House of Blues Myrtle Beach, SC and they were great. The next day I met my girlfriend and wevewbeen together ever since. The day before the concert January 21 2012 i asked her to marry me and she said yes. It seems that this band plays a huge part in my life and I will always love their music and their message.

Possibly due to the fact that rise against is my favorite band, but I have been to a handful of some really great concerts and none can compare to the energy they gave. Perfect line up and transitions.

This show was grrrrrreat!!!!! Except the pepperspray in the hallway downstairs to start. that was rough. Besides that, Bad Religion, Rocked, they still got it, after all these years. Played a great setlist, that the crowd really enjoyed. Rise Against started with a bang and ended with one too, and it was Fan Tastic

I'll admit I didn't know much about the first band at all but their charisma and stage presence was entertaining. I've seen Bad Religion one other time and this time was as flawless as the last they are on point and worth multiple shows. I had not seen bad religion but the sincerity in their message along with the immense energy made for a spectacular performance.

Given I've been a Bad Religion & Rise Against diehard fan for the last 10 years+, I think the show was as good as it gets. I've seen Bad Religion once before and Rise Against 2 times before and this concert hit those expectations & was still refreshingly new. I'd have gotten tickets to the May 14 show if I could have. The only downside was the Venue has less than stellar acoustics. If you were standing on the perimeter, it was materially different in quality sound vs. the floor & pit & stage.

AMAZING SHOW. Best first (real) concert experience I could have asked for. Rise Against is my favorite band of all time and my inspiration for how I live my life. I was second row from the front and it was just beyond amazing. Only downside was Electric Factory was small and the moshers really didn't help any. And it was very hot inside. Other than that it was still freaking awesome. Hands down, best experience yet.

The concert itself was incredible...but afterwards...it was even better. So as we're walking out, we notice the tour buses are parked near the woods...and that there are nature trails through said woods. So, naturally, we wander through them and wind up right by the buses. Of course, the security guard yelled at us to get out. First reaction? Hide in the bushes. For an hour. Finally, security found us and kicked us out...again, and we sat on the curb by the exit. Then security left, and we decided to try our luck again and made our way back in by the buses. Once we made it in, one of Rise Against's techs came out of their bus and told us that if we stood aside the band MIGHT come out to meet us. And they did. For a good fifteen minutes. It was an amazing. We were so mindblown, we could hardly think of anything to say.

Wow. Heard them on the radio and my kids like them. Having grown up in the 80's, it is more guitar oriented and more my style than most of the radio stuff played today, so I agreed to go. It was all guitars and drums and .. LOUD!! Very cool.

All three bands: Four Year Strong, Bad Religion, and Rise Against, put on fantastic shows. Four Year Strong opened with great energy, and a new lineup. Their new sound is really good, and their set was a cohesive playlist, featuring their most popular songs. Bad Religion followed, and was entertaining, both musically and as people. They are just incredibly intelligent and seem friendly. Highlights from the two sets were What The Hell Is A Gigawatt by FYS and American Jesus by Bad Religion. Rise Against obviously had much higher funding, given how much more attractive their stage set up and lights were so different from the other performers. They were really nice as people , however, and they complimented both the audience and the previous bands frequently and sincerely. Highlights from their set were Ready to Fall, Satellite and their closer, Give It All. The crowd was awful and boring during Four Year Strong's set, mediocre during Bad Religion's set, and quite good during Rise Against. That said, it was awful to not be able to dance or jump because I was seated rather than in GA.

I've seen several hundred shows, including Rise Against once before. In 18 years of hard core concert going I can honestly say this is going in my top five. An awesome rating when only behind shows like Pink Floyd, Tool, Rage Against the Machine, and Slipknot! Thanks Tim and co. for an energy filled, loud ass, fist in the air, incredible night. P.S. St. Augustine Ampitheatre rocks!!!

Both Rise Against and Bad Religion sound phenomenal live. The combination of their command of the audience, stage presence, and live sound make this show a must see. This concert was so much fun that I wish I had the time and money to catch the tour's next stop. I can't wait to see them again in the future and recommend them to anyone who wants to witness a great rock performance, regardless of whether you're a fan of the bands. As for the WaMu Theater, it is a fairly decent venue. Plenty of room for moving around, plenty of seating if you want it, and very easy to get around. The sound quality there is okay, but if you have bands like RA and BR playing, their caliber outweighs the acoustic shortcomings of the venue. I will caveat this by saying that WaMu seems to be more of a rock-style venue; that is, somewhere to sing and dance and be loud. I don't know how great it would be for a small, intimate acoustical performance. Regardless, it was a good place to see some phenomenal bands. I would definitely go there to see other rock concerts.

Take a band like Rise Against that is growing and still writting great music... Invite Bad Religion into the mix who never lets down live (see them at least 5 times over the last 15 years) or on their records... and you have a really great show worth spending $50 on. The openning band Four Year Stong played so good, and mixed their old and new material really well that I was satisfied with the show as soon as they finished their set. Excellent is all I can say about them. Never forget the fans come to SEE a band not their Light SHOW - so Rise Against set was ruined for me by all the obnoxious lights that made it at times impossible to see the band. Couldnt see their drummer at all! Bad Religion dazzled and I was hesitant when I saw a different drummer but he nailed it. The get the top pick with Four Year Strong coming in a very close second.

Bad Religion came out and put on a damn fine show. They even played some of their stuff from their first album. Rise Against came out and the light show on stage was so blinding that the only way I could tell it was them was from the sound. Later my friend I went to the side of the stage and it was better and could actually SEE the band. Rise Against had a great encore where they engaged the crowd and talked more. Finished with some great hits from previous albums.
