Foo Fighters

Since releasing their self-titled debut in 1995, the Foo Fighters have been at the forefront of guitar-heavy rock. The origin of the band can be traced back to David Grohl's days as a drummer for Nirvana when he would write solo material when not playing with the legendary group. While Grohl handled all of the instrumentation for the Foo Fighters' first album, band members have since joined Grohl in the studio and on tour. In 1997, the band released The Colour and the Shape, followed by 1999's There Is Nothing Left to Lose and One by One in 2002.

This was the 4th show we've seen on this tour kicked off in Cal Jam last October and the Foos just get better. They are one of the best touring rock bands out there, giving their fans 110% and then some. Playing for almost 3 hours of hit after hit, plus some fun covers like a woodshed twist on Jump, they never disappoint. If you haven't seen them, what are you waiting for?? The venue is good, but it can get steamy in the lower seats in July as air flow is limited. The amenities are decent and an easy location to get to from Philly via the ferry. (No photos from this show, so enjoy those I took from their New Year's Eve show in Vegas)

Every time I see them it's guaranteed that it'll be a great show. Dave Grohl is one of the best front men around. The show was full of energy, dancing and screaming! The opening band was The Struts and they were pretty great. The Foo Fighters always put on a consistently awesome rock show. They love what they do and you can see it. Dave Koz was a special guest and it was random but totally fun.

The concert was way too long! The 6 song encore was excessive, and playing every song off their new album was unnecessary. The acoustics for Motorhead were aweful (could barely understand what Lenny was saying in section 120). I also expected a better light show from a rock band.

Foo Fighters were on top of their game for sure! Dave Grohl is one hell of a showman. The crowd was into it, standing for most of the show. I thought it was definately one of the best shows I've seen recently and would recommend it to anyone who likes to rock. There were no lulls in their performance and they played an enormous setlist (over 2 dozen songs)!

These guys came into Little Rock to do some serious rocking out. The performance was unforgettable. The most high energy show that I have seen. These guys are the best! The intensity was kept through the entire show with the pauses with David's interaction with the crowd very entertaining. The new album was well represented, and by the way it is a great one. The accoustic session was excellent.

I am still reeling from watching the Foo Fighters on Wed. night. I have seen alot of metal shows in my time but nothing has come close. I have never seen a band play with that much intensity for that long. The amount of energy that Dave and Co. produced was kept the crowd who was obviously tired from working all week totally pumped. The stage set up with the close proximty to the band made it feel like a small intimate show. I was a little disapointed with the crowd size, but being the middle of the week it was probably pretty decent. I will see this band again every time they come back to town.

I am an 49 year old grandma who still likes to rock. Me and my husband attended along with my son and his friend. We all had a great time. I played the drums when I was younger and my son plays drums now. Very impressed with Taylor, all were instrumentally awesome. Had a great time with all the kids!!!

I have wanted to the Foo Fighters for so long- I had seen there live show on Paladia, but this was so much better than that. Although I didn't care for the opening acts, I came to see the FF, and they surpassed all my expectatoins. My favorite song was "Let It Die"- but all of the songs were great, and dave grohl is the best frontman I've ever seen. I would definitley see them again- please come back to NLR!

Foo Fighters put on an incredible show. Grohl is just as high-energy as you would expect him to be. The encore (if you can call it that) was 10 songs! Simply unbelievable. My husband and I stood right along the cat walk on the floor— by far the best spot in the joint. We stood for a total of six hours, and screamed/sang/jumped/danced/rocked out for the nearly 3 hours that was FF. Our 30-year-old bodies were hurtin' the next day, and it was worth all the pain, and every penny. Also— Biffy Clyro has a couple of new fans in us. We had heard a couple of songs before that we really like... but there is no comparison to their live show. Those guys are incredible... the things do musically are so dynamic and complex and intense. Wow.

This was THE BEST show I have been too by the GREATEST rock bands around!!. Truly amazing show. Biffy Clyro was excellent and should be headlining shows!. Then they include the Legends - Motorhead in the mix who killed! Then Foo Fighters came out swinging and never stopped . . . for 3 hours straight! The stage, light show and sound set-up was amazing and the song list was killer! Especially loved the "Tower of Dave". They included Alice Cooper and Queen in their encore too. They annihalated the show, truly amazing.

The Foo Fighters were really good. Better than I expected. Motorhedz was awful. Lenny can't sing and has no range. The only problem I had was not with the bands but with the audience. I don't understand why people would spend so much money to have a seat instead of the floor and then stand up and act a fool during the whole show other than the idiot people in front of me.....Foo Fighters were great

Smoke, lasers, dual stages, oh my! They have a great stage presence, with just enough talking but not ranting (usually). During my Ampitheatre show Dave was pissed because MTV banned his and Jack Blacks video for "Low" because of what in insinuates. The video is cool, youtube it. Best show of theirs was my third time seeing Foo Fighters at All State Arena (rosemont, IL) when they had dual stages. The extra stage was for a quick acoustic set that descended from the CEILING. I've seen them in Marcus Ampitheatre, WI during Summer fest (One by One). All-state arena, IL w/ kaiser chiefs and weezer (In Your Honor). All-state area, IL w/ serj t. (Echoes, Silence, Patience, and Grace). Milwaukee, WI for Harley 104th anniversary w/ Three Days Grace (E,S,P, and G). Dave Grohl has side bands, noteable are Them Crooked Vultures and his AMAZING side project PROBOT!!!

I saw the Foo Fighters at the Key Arena in Seattle in July of 2008 and it will be on thing of my high school years that I will never forget. Not only did they open with some great bands (Local Minus the Bear, and then Supergrass) but they played a great show. Playing almost a two hour set, covering thier entire career. Even playing "Floaty" off of thier debut album, and a smaller 5 song mini set on a round stage consisting of thier acoustic ablum favorites off "Skin and Bones." After it was all sang and moshed out, we all expected at 3 song encore like tradition, but a video of the guys back stage led to a question and cheer bickering that ended with the decision for a 5 song encore! Pulling out all the stops with Best of You, Aurora, Baker Street, Times Like These, and then finally, Everlong. Never have I stood on my feet for 3 and a half hours, screaming my lungs to ever word, and have come out with so much energy. If you get a chance, see them, like 'em or not, you will not be disapointed. I know I'm going as soon as I can!

I had the pleasure of seeing U2 and Green Day last year so I was thrilled to have the opportunity to see Foo Fighters at the Coral Sky Amphitheatre and I was not disappointed. Dave Grohl is an entertaining showman and the band was tight. They seemed to enjoy the venue and the crowd, acknowledging their mistake of not having been to Palm Beach in 12 years and seemingly making up for it by playing well over 2 hours. The setlist went pretty much to plan and did not disappoint with every song you want to hear played that night. Dave was in great voice and told the crowd this amphitheater type of venue is his favorite type of gig, loose, nice and a beautiful evening where everyone enjoyed a great rock show. Thanks Dave and the boys, come back soon !

This was my first time ever seeing Foo Fighters - they did not disappoint! They played for 3 full hours and kept the crowd on their feet the entire night. I'm mad at myself for waiting this long to see them in concert! I am also now a fan of the opening band, The Struts. I went thinking 'Ah, if we miss the opening band I'm not gonna be upset about it'. I've seen the Foo Fighters seven different times and I have to honestly say that ever time has been just awesome. Dave and the boys have not slowed down or missed a step ; they appear to get better with age.The Foo's give a entertaining and high energy performance , Dave runs around that stage singing to the top of his voice giving his all for three full hours. My kids want to be musicians ( rock stars ) and Dave Grohl is their inspiration . This was their second Foo Fighter concert and they were so pumped after the show that when we returned home well after 1 am they plugged in their guitars to jam. My wife and I asked what was going on they said " We want to be as great as the Foo Fighters when we grow up ". My wife and I said " Rock on ! " as we closed our bedroom door for the night. I recommend to anyone who want to see a great band check out the Foo fighters you wont be disappointed .

I cannot say enough about this performance and how fun it was. These guys remain true professionals and masters of their craft. They intermingled various extended versions of their hits along with very creative covers (sung by band members other than Dave). The show wasn't too short or too long. Dave's interaction with the crowd was perfect, providing respites between songs with dialogue both motivational and humorous alike. We had a view of the stage with the Atlanta Skyline in the backdrop, great weather and crowds that ranged from 15 to 60 in age. So glad I made the effort to do this, and woke up the next morning in a total state of awestruck afterglow. Fun fun fun!.

The Foo Fighters rocked Lexington's Rupp Arena hard and loud. Dave Grohl is the definition of cool. Loved the show. Could have heard fewer solos and more songs, though. The extended solos got a little cumbersome. Really enjoyed The Struts as an opener. They gained a new fan. But Rupp Arena sucks for comfort and acoustics. Vocals were distorted. Leave Rupp for the hoop fans. Also disappointed to pay $99.50 plus fees for bench seating. Very uncomfortable. I won't drive to Lexington for any more shows. I will wait for Grohl and company to come to Louisville.

I ve been a long time fan of the Foo Fighters, but never able to attend one of their concerts, I attended with my 16 year old son and we were seated in line last October when the Lexington show was cancelled, needless to say we were disappointed. However, we were NOT disappointed by David and the boys on their return!! The Struts opened, and they definitely have an old school British punk vibe, the lead singer looks like Joan Jett, moves like David Bowie, and sings with the attitude and style of Mick Jagger. Their music was reminiscent of some 80 s punk material, not crazy thrash but airplay stuff. They certainly knew their role on this night to get us ready for Foo. Overall, they were for me a bit of a novelty band, not my taste or style, but not untalented either. Now for Foo. David and the guys took the stage around 8:30ish and jumped straight into Run from Concrete and Gold which made for an amazing throat punch of an opening! They didn t let up from there, the next three or four songs were some of their high adrenaline killer stuff and by this point if you weren t into it then I felt sorry for you. We were on the floor front and center (about three people back from the rail) so we could see EVERY movement. At times, with the lowered ceiling the lighting made it feel like a small club concert especially since we were so close. All night long the guys flat rocked out, turning their 3 minute songs into 15 minute jam sessions which felt like a personal invitation into their madness and passion. Three and a half hours later and 4ish encore songs and we were spent. The Foo took ahold of the audience and never let us go the entire night. I ve heard a lot about Foo concerts and what amazing performers they are on stage, and after all that hype and a six month wait I was afraid to be disappointed, such was NOT the case! They were EVERYTHING I expected and more! David is truly a shownan, he knows how to engage his audience, he knows how to make you laugh and scream until your back goes out! We left that night exhausted and fulfilled, not wanting a thing, and feeling like we d been racing full speed and were coasting home on an empty tank. That was a noght I won t forget.

The Foo's put on a great show! David is a fantastic front man! With that being said, I was hoping for a better sound mix than the BLAST we got! The first 4 or 5 songs were under control and one could hear all the players' contributions to the music. However, once the levels started coming up, the vocals became distorted and all you could hear of the band was David's guitar, drums and bass. No keyboards and no lead or rhythm guitar to speak of. I really enjoy the guitar structuring and layered parts along with the keyboard, the songs are interesting and very well constructed, in my opinion. Yet, with all the energy exhibited by David, his voice was blown out hoarse by the middle of the evening. Yet, when Foo songs were played, it was magic. The long jams and covers songs, I think, would be better spent on Foo music! I thoroughly enjoyed the evening, thanks to my sonic ear plugs, the wonderous lighting design and execution, and of course, witnessing the Foo Fighters live! A feather in my bucket list! Thanks to the Foo Fighters for coming to the Atlanta Big Ass Stadium! Ease up on the screaming levels and let the fans hear the band.....everyone wins! Now, where is my Foo Fighter t-shirt!

Dave Grohl is a showman! When they jammed a song for a really long time you weren t wondering when they would end it. You wanted them to play it longer! Even if your not a big FF fan, you will be anamared by they sheer rock-n-roll amazing musicians angle. Pros: show, sound, seats, parking, access to bathrooms Cons: not enough beer vendors. Lines were rediculously long.

This was my second time seeing the Foo Fighters (in 6 months), and they put on a helluva show. Dave Grohl rocks the house - and makes everybody laugh between songs. They play all the big hits - old and new, as well as a few covers. The light show was incredible. The Struts are awesome too. One of the most memorable moments of the show was when Luke Spiller (Struts singer) and Taylor Hawkins sang Queen/Bowie hit "Under Pressure". The encore "tease" and the 3-song encore were also extraordinary. Money well spent. I highly recommend seeing the Foo Fighters to all rock and roll fans.

Loved this concert!!! This band has been long overdue for a Florida visit and they did not disappoint with almost 3hrs of playing a ton of their hit songs!!! The energy was high the entire time and it felt like they would have played longer if allowed. I was on the lawn which still has great energy and everyone was one their feet the entire time. Best rock concert I have been to in a long time!! Can t wait to see them again!!!

I've never seen the Foo Fighters live. Why did I wait this long? You love their music. Their live show won't disappoint. They played a huge set list, 3 1/2 hours of their old and new songs, with a couple covers like "Under Pressure" thrown in for good measure. If you have genuine musical talent and know their songs, bring a sign saying so and stand at the front. If you're lucky, Dave might invite you up to rock out with them on stage. Gotta see them again soon.

I consider myself, a Child of 90s rock. I love Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, live, blues traveler… But, I was never a big Nirvana guy. Until, my ex-wife introduced me to Dave Grohl. I was immediately enamored with Foo Fighters, and I ve been listening to them for years; however, I never got a chance to see them live, until this week! Dave Grohl may be one of the best stage performers, I have ever seen! His presence, his interaction with the crowd, and his ability to keep everybody rocking all night long, was captivating! I can t believe I have not seen them sooner, and would most definitely see them again! Well worth the price of admission…

This is a must see show. Nearly 3 hours of non-stop rock and roll and stand up comedy. I left hoarse because I sang way too much. If you re in the state of mind that rock is on its last legs, this show will give you hope that rock n roll is alive and well! Long live the Foos!

about halfway thru the show, Dave said "we're getting ready to smoke you" and they sure did! I had both an arena seat and a floor ticket, but spent most of the night on the floor. I was exhausted by the end of the night. My only disappointment; not hearing Something from Nothing or Congregation from the Sonic HIghways album (Think they should add at least one of these in and take out a new song). But I'll go see them again in 2018 in another city for sure. There just aren't any hard driving rock bands like FF touring anymore which is sad.
