Volbeat

Danish metal fusion act Volbeat has grown from a well-known regional band in Scandinavia to an international touring outfit sharing the bill with music giants Megadeth and Metallica. The four-piece group mixes metal, hard rock and a touch of punk with rock and roll inspiration from icons like Elvis, creating a well-liked combination that easily sells tickets. And when the Northern European performers aren’t in the recording studio, they’re tackling headlining concerts and taking part in the international festival circuit.  Volbeat’s nearly decade-long discography boasts five studio albums, all of which have achieved at least gold status in their native Denmark.

Didn't care for the opening band, one karate kid kick is good enough, but Volbeat put on a great show. The venue was small enough that every seat in the house was a great view.

Digital Summer was pretty good considering I had never heard of them before, Trivium puts on a good show, but Volbeat is my absolute favorite! I never tire of seeing them live and I think this show was so much better than the last time I saw them! It was a smaller venue than the last time I saw them but they totally rocked the place!

If you get the chance, go see Volbeat! Awesome band, awesome concert, awesome experience. This was my second time seeing them live, and I will go back every time they are in my area (first time was in Lubbock, TX). I got to meet Michael Poulsen this time around, which was really, really cool!

I have seen Volbeat before and as always they deliver a killer show! They dont put a whole lot of filler in between songs so you get the most music for your ticket dollar and the music they play is spot on and tight. if you ever get a chance to see them dont pass it up you will not be disappointed!

Have their last 2 CDs and have been a fan of Volbeat for the last couple years. I've been to aprox 40 concerts over many years and this was right near the top. Digital Summer started the show and got the night off to a good start, played about 30 minutes. Trivium was next and played about twice as long as Digital Summer, they were very good and a nice progression, a bit heavier than Digital Summer and also Volbeat, but very talented. Volbeat was the well-deserved headliner and didn't disappoint, from start to finish they were on fire, just got the whole place rocking in unison. You can tell the band really enjoys putting on a killer show and they didn't let up all night, played for about 2 hrs and about 20+ songs w/ a 3 song encore. The talent and showmanship of Volbeat is only appreciated when you see them live. Their studio CDs are extremely well done but their energy and flawless performance on stage sets them apart, the show is just SO enjoyable. Fans from kids all the way up to folks in their late 50s were just having the time of their lives at this show. If you''re within a days drive you need to put this band on your concert list, you won't be disappointed! I'm already checking tour dates down the road to see them again :)

Volbeat put on a great show. They were everything I expected they would be. Michael Poulsen has a good sense of humor and was at ease with the crowd. He performed basically every song that I have on my own playlist so that made me happy. I also caught one of Anders guitar picks so that was the icing on the cake.

Really enjoyed the show. This was my fourth time to see them and try never disappoint. I love the way the band has genuine love for their fans and their honor to be able to come Tj America and perform. Michael Paulsen the lead singer spoke directly to a small little girl on her dads shoulders in the audience and crowd surfed over to and gave her a t shirt. That was Kool to see.

My girlfriend and I were front row on the barricade and this was her first rock show. Crobot opened and was an okay act then it was time for Anthrax. That was a damn good set and after their set I had gotten 2 picks and the set list from crobot. Now for the headliners...Volbeat! I had been wanting to see them since I first heard their music. Their set consisted of Lola Montez, heaven nor hell, a warriors call, dead but rising and I had the best seats in the house!

Volbeat once again put on a great show. My bf and I saw them in 2014 in Fort Wayne with Five Finger Death Punch. It was a very good show and they didn't disappoint. In Fort Wayne he had kids get up on stage and changed part of a song from "booze" to "chocolate milk". This time once again they had kids get up on stage but didn't do the same song which is cool so it wasn't the same exact as last time. He even took a selfie on stage with a kid and gave a 'rock star hair due' to a little.boy. My bf loves Volbeat but I'm.not nearly as big a fan as he is and I still love seeing them. They sound very good live.

Volbeat puts on a terrific live performance. The sound and lighting visuals are the professional quality you expect from a band of this caliber. They did a terrific job making a rather shallow stage area seem like it had much greater depth and scale. All of that aside, you go to see Volbeat to HEAR Volbeat, and their steadily growing catalog of albums is validated by the sheer volume of the crowd chanting the lyrics back song after song. Michael Poulsen is a killer front man who genuinely engages the fans and keeps you hooked from start to finish. I'll continue to see Volbeat live as long as they keep touring. A note for Crobot. These guys are monsters live! Wow. You need to check them out because they put on a wicked live performance. I can't wait to see what they do when they get to headliner status because with a sliver of opening-act stage they were huge sounding.

Anthrax sounded great after 30 years. And Volbeat took the night! They played almost every song in their catalog, and they sounded great doing it all. During one song they brought all the kids up on stage to rock out. In the mosh pit even had a banana boy in it.The night totally rocked!!

I'm a big fan of Volbeat and Anthrax. I grew up listening to Anthrax and they didn't disappoint. They really got the crowd going and they sounded awesome! Don't get me wrong, Volbeat was good, but I felt Anthrax really had the better night. Volbeat played a long set and that was a nice surprise. Both bands sounded great live and neither missed a beat. Anthrax had the better mosh pit by far. Crobot was the wrong band to be opening for Anthrax and Volbeat. When Crobot plays, this is a good time to get a beer. For those of you reading this review and haven't seen the show yet, don't wait to buy tickets, overall this show was awesome!

Digital Summer kicked this show off, and put on a decent show with a lot of attempts to connect with the crown including throwing out t-shirts and starting emotionally charged "f you" chants. Trivium took the stage next and put on a fantastic metal show, combining old hits with new ones as well. Frontman Matt Heafy and lead guitarist Corey Beaulieu traded outstanding vocals as well as perfect guitar solos on a multitude of songs. Trivium put on a fantastic show that could have sent plenty of fans home happy, but they were only support. Trivium was easily capable of headlining a tour of their own, but lack the fanbase that Volbeat has. With Volbeat being the headliner, the crown was very anxious for them to begin. But once the intro to Doc Holliday begin, the crown erupted with a major amount of energy, which would not cease until the show came to an end. Volbeat played a well selected variety of both old and new hits, with 20 songs in total being played. Not only did Volbeat play their songs to perfection but treated the Bethlehem crowd to a cover of Judas Priest's "Breaking the Law," played a new snippet of future song entitled "Satan," debuted a version of their song "Evelyn" with Trivium's Matt Heafy on and Corey Beaulieu, and also brought young children up on stage for an unforgettable moment during the song Thanks. All in all, Digital Summer, Trivium, And Volbeat put on an incredible show, one that you will not want to miss when it comes to your town.

I heard that Michael Poulsen had pipes and the show took away any doubt about that. Band worked crowed great, sound was good (not great) at WAMU but worth the ticket. Really surprised with the band bringing up the Child Rocker Generation at the show. I gained a lot of respect for the band with that. Really good gig, it was my 11th time seeing Volbeat, so I kinda like them. They were with Killswitch Engage & Black Wizard. Both support acts were really good. Didn't know much about them, but they were solid. Volbeat came out & were excellent, however, their front man, Michael Paulsen was having troubles with in ear monitors, so he said he couldn't really hear what was going on. Despite that, they sounded great, despite the fact he beat himself up over this problem. He needs to know that it did sound excellent. It was a General Admission show, & I was up front on the barrier. 1 other thing, I decided to go to this gig at the last minute, & I tried to order a ticket with the Ticketmaster App on my phone, & I couldn't buy. Said it was sold out, but when I "Googled" Ticketmaster, & went through the regular site on my phone, I was able to order a ticket that way.

Black Wizard opened and didn't disappoint. Set the tone for night with "Sabbath-esk" sounds. Killswitch Engage picked up the pace opening with "Rose of Sharon" and never backed down from there. Volbeat's combination of hard-rocking bluesy with a touch of rockabilly topped the show off. Performing pieces from throughout their discography left the crowd fully satisfied. All and all an amazing show.

Killswitch Engage killed it and Volbeat was pretty good. They did a lot of American cover tunes that kept the crowd interested. Killswitch Engage should have been allowed to utilize the bigger speakers for a better sound. Black Wizard opened the show and man that lead guitarist can rip but we didn't care for the lead singer's voice. It somehow did not match the music and was not up to caliber to be playing with Killswitch Engage. If they replace the lead singer with someone who didn't sound like an 80s flashback they would be an amazing band. I did purchase the CD and I confirmed my thoughts listening to the CD itself, his voice is just not right for that band.

I have never been to a Volbeat concert before, but having seen live performances on YouTube, I knew we were in for a treat. I couldn't have been more right. I always thought the mark of a truly great band was that the studio versions of a bands' songs are as good or better when performed live. This was very much the case with Volbeat. The setlist was airtight, with one great song after another. A Warriors Call, Lola Montez, The Devils Bleeding Crown...the great songs kept coming one after the other! If you are a fan of Volbeat, seeing them live is a must!

the first to performances we could not hear the lead singer at all\u2026..nothing from the first few rows. it got better when Red Sun Rising came on and even better when Volbeat played. I don't believe in catering to the main act or acts and in this case the first two got screwed. I understand why everyone does it but at least make it so we can hear the lead singer. I've been to many shows everywhere and this has happened a few times\u2026..maybe the hanging speaker towers are just too far forward and the sound is already past us in the front few rows??? Just and observation, i'm no expert

From the moment they come on stage to the last minute they are performing, they put their all into entertaining those who came out to the show. This was my first rock concert and my first time actually enjoying rock music. Volbeat is one of my boyfriend's favorite bands so I surprised him with tickets. I was a little hesitant since I am not a fan of rock music, but Volbeat did an amazing job and may possibly have made a rock fan out of me. I enjoyed their performance and would certainly see them again! PS. Don't tell my boyfriend because i'm so using this to get him to the opera!

The music has people jumping from beginning to end. I have been to three of their concerts and they are all amazing and surely a thing to remember. Do I recommend Volbeat? Hell Yeah!!

CROBOT has so much energy, they were insane and put on a very entertaining show. Dont miss those guys live! Funky hard rockin guys:) the singer (brandon) is out of control with his headbanging and moonwalking and funky dancing!! ANTHRAX always have a killer show, but the singer was getting angry at the balcony for not standing. "This is a f*cking metal show! GET UP!" lol my beautiful gentlemen of VOLBEAT never let anyone down. (Their flight was delayed so they ended up missing their meet and greet, I felt bad for them, they hate that) They always bring the kids up on stage with them also, and Michael crowd surfs to give kids in the audience shirts. Theyre a band that you smile to while your headbanging and rocking out. the venue was nice, never been there. Got to see Jerry Only standing around outside. Five Guys is right across the street :)

Volbeat brought it to the stage and kept on rocking all night with popular hits such as Lola Montez, Heaven Nor Hell, Still Counting, Hangman's Body Count, and Warrior's Call. Volbeat kept me entertained and never let me sit back down after they hit the stage. Louisville Palace was a beautiful venue, too.

The venue was great, although it was too full in my opinion. Everyone had to get extremely personal in order to move through the venue. I loved the outdoor patio. The crowd was amazing and that is a big part of the show. No matter where you stood or sat within the venue you could see the bands fairly close up. Great show all in all!

Wow, this concert just was amazing. I never went to a concert in the U.S. before, but i regularly do so in Europe, but the crowd here, wow, that is seriously a new level. As far as I could tell, it was well organized, and the securities knew their job well.

Excellent show! High energy. One of the few bands I've seen where the guys playing truly looked like they loved what they are doing.

Volbeat is one of the hardest working and best live bands out there. In only a few short years, we have seen them seven times -- not because we are their biggest fans but because they never seen to stop touring! It seems if they aren't headlining a show then they are opening for another of our favorite bands. Even if you just like a few of their songs, see them live. They have an energy and sound live that is hard to capture on a CD. Seeing them up close at a smaller venue like The Grove was perfect.

Been a Volbeat fan for years but never had the chance to see them until the Biloxi show. They are just as great live as on their CD's. Not only is their sound amazing but their interaction with the audience really made the show special & lots of fun. Honestly, the best concert I have ever been to.

Great show by Volbeat. Only problem was ticket said show started at 8:00 PM and there was one opening act. Volbeat came on at 8 which caused us to miss opening songs. Think for all ticketmaster charges they could at least be on same page as venue with time of show

My boyfriend and I arrived at the Hard Rock Casino about 2 hours earlier than the show was to start. Good thing too, as the line had already formed. Luckily we decided to wait with the others and managed to get an almost front-row spot. Even with standing room only, we were right next to the stage. I wasn't fond of the opening act, but was surprised when they came on early. Volbeat hit the stage right about 8pm and from that moment on, the room was entraced. They sounded exactly as they do on CD and YouTube. They were so amazingly polite and played every one of my favorites.

Volbeat are the epitome of what going see a good rock concert should be. They had the fans going nuts and the venue shaking beneath our feet! One of the best shows I've seen in years, and will definitely see them again, even if it means driving for a whole day.
