Alabama Ballet

Loved seeing AL Ballet dance to Ballanchine's nutcracker at the Wright Center! Dancing was so beautiful and impressive. There was a really long line for women's rest room at intermission, and the soap dispensers ran out. That was the only drawback. Everything else was amazing.

My wife and I have probably seen about 5 or 6 productions of the Nutcracker at the Wright Center. This was arguably the best. I commented to her at intermission, "Wow, the time flew during the first act." And then, after the show, we both agreed that the entire thing had flown by. We thought the baby mice were adorable (full disclosure -- we know the mom of one of the baby mice!), and the scene with the slaying of the mouse king was done especially well. All in all, a great production.

This was by far the best Nutcracker I have seen. The stage set was well decorated and the adaption was much better than some I have seen in the past.

Alabama Ballet Nutcracker performance was delightful! I have seen many versions, and this one was very well done, and my three guests were all very happy!

We see the Nutcracker every year and this performance was the best I ve seen! Visually stunning.

The set and costumes were very nice. We were disappointed in the quality of the ballet as a whole. The solo dancers were very good, but the groups were not together and seemed very sloppy. Still...a sweet day with my family, but won't go back to that particular ballet.

The Alabama Ballet is one of a very few ballet companies in the nation licensed to produce George Ballantine's version of The Nutcracker, and when you see the performance, it's clear why that's the case. From the costumes to the skill of the dancers and the inclusion of children throughout the performance, this is a beautiful and captivating show. Just the thing to celebrate the season!!!
