This is my third time seeing Rent. I saw it with Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp. This tour, featuring Logan Farine as Roger was exceptional. Farine was on par with Pascal's performance.

I have been a fan of Rent ever since my girlfirend introduced it to me back in 2006 and we saw the theatrical version.I have always wanted to see the live performance and it was awsome. There was never a dull moment within the musical. My attention was held throught the performance. A must see.

So nice to see so many "Rent" veterans rocking this show out again. Since this landmark musical is now closed on Broadway, this is a great opportunity to see what earned this show so many awards (Tony Award, Pultizer Prize, etc.). Being a touring company, however, means that the theater was not built for this show, so there are obstructed views on all sides and it would be best to see this one as close to center as possible. On opening night, there were also some missed sound effects at the start ("The phone!" was shouted after no ringing sound was heard) and odd feedback problems with some of the cast members' microphones (especially "Tom Collins"). But by the time Act 2 kicked off with the now-seminal "Seasons of Love," all of that seemed to have been worked out. I've seen "Rent" performed maybe a dozen times in three different cities, and this one was still as good as ever.

Usually the cast members are nervous, the sound engineers are still figuring things out, the set transitions are screwy... but not this show. It was absolutely amazing and everything went off without a hitch. I still have the Seasons song stuck in my head.

RENT has got to be my favorite play ever and it was a magical evening to be able to see Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal on stage. Each song hit me with a wave of emotion and I couldn't help but spill over with tears during, "Will I Lose My Dignity" and "I'll Cover You (reprise)" The only problem I have is that the cast no longer is in the Lobby collecting Money for AIDS awareness. I'm worried that some of the message has been lost over the years.

ANTHONY RAPP AND ADAM PASCAL HELPED AN AMAZING CAST CAPTIVATE THE AUDIENCE AND BRING THEM INTO THE WORLD OF RENT. I LAUGHED, I CRIED, I SANG ALONG, AND I DON'T REGRET COMING ON A WEEKNIGHT WITH WORK THE NEXT MORNING, EVEN THE SLIGHTEST BIT, IN FACT I WOULD DO IT AGAIN TOMORROW IF I COULD. IT TRULY WAS A NIGHT TO REMEMBER ALWAYS.

Rent never disappoints and this show was no different.....One small problem which could have been part of the theater, or perhaps where we were sitting (front row of the balcony) was that the music was so loud that it drowned out the vocals during many parts of the show....granted, I've listened to that soundtrack about a million times, so I still knew what was going on, but it was my boyfriend's first time to Rent and a few things were lost on him due to the sound. Would definitely go again, but would also love the vocal/music issue to be resolved....turn down that electric guitar!! :)

It was amazing! The larger t-shirt sizes were sold out before the muscial started. I loved the audience telling the actors that their mics weren't on and they started the whole thing over. I would have paid extra for a meet and greet of the cast.

20 years ago, the AIDS situation was completely different. The material just didn't hit a chord with me. Having said that, the cast was pretty marvelous. A lot of strong voices from a cast with pretty minimal credentials on Broadway. But they carried it off well. With the exception of starting the show with no microphones, they handled that miscue pretty well with good humor. And the show went on. Overall it was ok. But for me, I'd never see it again.

This was the worst play we have ever seen. Left during intermisson as did a whole slew of other people. You could not understand what they were singing, show started late and when it did begin, you couldnt hear them. Someone finally yelled talk louder, everyone laughed and then with pain, we Sat through the beginning again, and still didn't get it. I have been to many plays, Jersey Boys, Mama Mia, The book of Mormon, Elf, Wicked. Rent was awful, don't know how they made it to their 20th anniversary.

My wife and I have each seen RENT several times, and this 20th anniversary tour performance didn't disappoint. I realize that RENT is not for everyone: it's loud, fast, and can be hard to follow at times. My wife says she reviews the plot summary before she sees it each time. Regardless, it remains among our favorite musicals.

I ve seen rent 25 times in various locations. Please have the cast listen back. Mimi was horrible. Was off tune most of night. Brought entire show down. Her dancing was robotic and stiff. Rent was everything that I thought it was going to be. It was an amazing performance with incredibly talented performers. If I could see it again I would. I believe they did an amazing job taking the story and really bringing it to life. I went with my parents who didn't know anything about the story line at all and they said that some songs were too loud and because of that it was hard for them to hear the words. Because of this, they had a hard time understanding what was going on at some points.

Having seen the original in 1997, we had some expectations and some reservations about how the show might have been updated for 2018. Thankfully it was very much the original story and premise. The music is just as important today as it was 20 years ago when the play came to life. The cast was marvelous. Even those with minor parts had powerful voices and were a pleasure to watch and listen to. The only weak link in my opinion, was the actress who played Mimi. The chemistry was "off", her voice isn't as powerful as the rest of the cast and there wasn't anything exceptional about her dancing. I saw the play in Toronto when it was created 20 years ago and I will never forget what a moving and powerful performance it was. I appreciated the attention given to enunciation of the lyrics. Nothing got lost. If you love theater, you will enjoy this play.

We we in Orchestra section EE 2 rows from lighting tech area. We could not understand most of the words in the singing, and had a hard time following the play. Never seen Rent before and did not know anything about it, other than is was a rock opera.. We would normally like this type of play, but could not hear the voices well at all. We were recently at American in Paris, and had no problem with the sound, but we were in a different section, center right and closer to the stage. Not sure if it was the speakers in front of us, or the entire sound system. First time we have had this problem and the Auditorium. Next time, I will at least avoid this area of the theater, and even take balcony seats first.

This was a wonderful opportunity to see a great Broadway show; five minutes from home. The production was wonderful. I saw Rent with the original cast on Broadway back in the 90 s. My hopes were high for this touring show. I found it to be amateurish. I didn t think the acting was very good. The first Act was disjointed. The second Act was better. I just didn t think the singing voices were strong although there were 2 or 3 songs that were sung well.

Took my 14 year old niece to see this as she's only watched the 2008 version on youtube. She LOVED it, and I enjoyed seeing it again. Really enjoyed the theater. At times the music drowned out the singing but I think that had more to do with the way the band was on stage and the sound engineer. Luckily we both already knew all the words. The theater was cold, but that's preferable to too hot, so I was pleased. I would go again!

I was first exposed to Rent via the film, and became a huge fan. I saw the 2007 Broadway tour in Birmingham, AL, which was even better. Last night's performance was definitely the best yet, and I don't think it can ever be topped! Seeing the original actors for the main two characters was outstanding, and all of the other actors played their characters wonderfully. I would definitely urge anyone that's even slightly interested to go see one of the remaining performances in Orlando this week.

As any true RENThead would know, there is nothing like the original. So having Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal on this tour was AMAZING. They are Mark and Roger. No-one does it like them! Earlier this year I traveled to Chicago to be able to see these guys on the tour and I really lucked out when they decided to come to Cincinnati too. Twice in one year? That's awesome. If the show is coming anywhere near you, do NOT pass up the opportunity to see the two men who originated these roles and made them what they are today. It was cold, cloudy and grey for the final Sunday matinee of Rent in San Francisco, perfect weather to rediscover again what the commotion is all about. All the principals of the play were present except for Lexi Lawson, who usually plays Mimi. Understudy Trisha Jeffrey took her place and did a good job, but she seemed a little more rough around the edges than what I'm used to. I've always seen Mimi as very vulnerable and naive, which Lexi embodies perfectly. For some reason, during "Light My Candle," I kept expecting Trisha to kick Roger's ass. But Trisha was great in "Out Tonight," and a lot of the folks sitting around me who were new to the play were impressed. For almost a whole quarter of the play, she sang with a strand of hair in her eye. She didn't even remove it until the first act was almost over. That's a trooper! As usual, it's always special to watch Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal on stage together. After all these years, both of them are still sharp and fun to watch. Anthony still looks like he's having a good time and it's always nice to see how he changes up different performances like "Tango Maureen." You never see him do the same thing twice. A highlight for me was Adam's solos. When he hits that high note in "One Song Glory," you either shiver, wince or tear up. I did all three simultaneously. And hearing "Your Eyes" at the end is like having your heart ripped out and letting Adam sew you back together with the power of his voice. Absolutely breath-taking. My only pet peeve(s) is with Nicollette Hart and Haneefah Wood, who play Maureen and Joanne. A lot of times, it seemed like each of them was rushing through each of their performances and you couldn't really enjoy this one couple's particular story. Both of them seemed to shine when they interacted with other members of the cast. Still, it's hard not to enjoy "Over the Moon," whoever's playing Maureen. All those people in the front row needed to moo! Other high points: we got an actual kiss between Angel and Collins at the end of "I'll Cover You." In past shows I've seen, Justin Johnston and Michael McElroy come in close, the lights go low and you see nothing. This time, we hear an actual smack. Big deal for me? Yeah. So? If you can't stand Rent, Rentheads or the whole Rent phenomenon, see it for no other reason than the beginning of the second act, when the cast performs "Seasons of Love." This song never gets old. You will see why fans consider soloist Gwen Stewart a force of nature. No other soloist since then (cough, hack, Frenchie, ahem) has done this song justice like she has. 'Nuff said. Overall, Rent was amazing and still feels as fresh and relevant as it did more than a decade ago. The fact that all these young kids were there to see it was very encouraging, since they'll be around for the show's next revival. If you missed it, you won't have to travel across the country to the tour's next stop. Already, tour sources have said the show will wrap up in Sacramento in February or March next year. So anyone in the Bay Area who missed it gets one last chance. Make the drive. It's worth it. I'll be there, applauding and bawling like a baby.

This was my third experience seeing RENT, and I have never been so deeply moved. The entire cast was so centered and untied . . . so united . . . and their voices were full of depth and beauty. RENT was a meaningful and transforming experience for me the first time I saw it, which is exactly why I wanted to see it again. BUT, I had no idea that it would even be better than it was before. I just saw RENT at the Curran Theater in San Francisco! It was so amazing to have some of the original Broadway cast right THERE!! Adam Paschal and Anthony Rapp were great! I could tell they seemed to be dancing a bit slower but Oh MAN, they still can jump on that table for the "La Vie Boheme" act. This was the last week of the 2 week showing and I had read a review from week 1 that the "sound" was off and at times it was hard to hear the actors lines. Well, either someone read that review or something because I felt the sound at the performance I went to was fine. This is my 3rd time of seeing the production of RENT, and I have never seen or heard of a bad ANGEL in that role. Shaun Earl did a fabulous job of playing Angel, but of course he has had a lot of experience as that charactor. Trisha Jeffrey was great as Mimi and Nicolette Hart was a refreshing Maureen.

I have been listening to the soundtrack of the original Rent Broadway cast for almost 8 years. I fell in love with the story, music, and passion of the piece a long time ago, and when the play left the New York Broadway, I wasn't sure when I was going to be able to finally see it on stage. Finally, the Broadway tour of Rent came to San Francisco and I got the chance to go and watch the performance with two of the original cast members; Anthony Rapp as Mark and Adam Pascal as Roger. The bottom line is that this performance of Rent was one of the best experiences of my life. I have never been so passionate or on fire as I was after seeing this play. It was compelling, touching, sad and funny, and deeply moving. I knew the story, but seeing it performed added another aspect to the plot and created much needed dimension. Having two original cast members in the play was a treat, but the rest of the cast was also magnificent. Mimi is one of the best representations of the character I have ever seen. She adds an attitude and a personality to the character that I haven't experienced before. Angel is hilarious and moving, making you fall in love with the character almost instantly. His love affair with Collins on stage creates an emotional and passionate spark that is almost tangible. Maureen is ridiculously funny! Whenever she was on stage, I couldn't stop laughing. This actress also added a much needed dimension to the character that made her come alive on stage. If Jonathan Larson was alive today, he would be proud and touched to see what has become of his lifetime masterpiece. As a playwright, Larson has given Broadway lovers something to cherish and love forever. I would gladly see this play over and over again. This play never becomes irrelevant, and reaches across large groups of people of different cultures and beliefs. The story is beautiful and amazing, and is a must see if the play is coming to a city near you. Seeing this play will change your life and you will not regret it!

The energy on stage and in the audience was over the top! If you can go and see this show, do it. You won't be sorry!

This was the first time I'd seen the show live and because Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp were in it I was very very excited to go. As soon as the curtain went up I was instantly immersed in the world of Rent. The cast could not have done a better job. Every song either made you laugh, cry, or sing along. I think I was smiling through the entire show. After the show, I was fortunate enough to go backstage and meet some of the cast members. They couldn't have been nicer people. I think I will remember seeing Rent for a very long time.

Performers demonstrated high energy and play was well choreographed. The sound system and acoustics let them down. My third event at Count Basie with the same results. Check out other small venues in NJ and you will hear the difference!

Well sung, well choreographed, great sets, great live music- RENT always delivers. Not quite sure about the decorum of the NJ crowd, though. Lots of random cheering, talking full voice and paper crinkling going on.

We went with a group of 8 to the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, NJ, PERFECT venue. The cast was incredible and the show was amazing. Since it was the 20th ANNIVERSARY of the touring show the audience was involved. It was a great show in a great venue for a great night! Bravo!

The production was chaotic and overdone making it almost incoherent. Music was no better. This is the first time that I walk out of a musical!

I, myself, am a seasoned theatrical patron. I know the difference between a good show and a bad show. Well, in simplest terms, Rent was not good.... it was fantastic!! Every moment was energetically filled with raw emotion and showmanship. From the beginning lines given by Mark, to the collective, passionate finale with the entire cast the show shines and speaks with candor and an authentic love. Even with the show being twenty years old, it's still as innovative and avant-garde as its premiere in 1993. This show reigns with honesty beauty and tells one of the most important messages we need in this day in age: measure your life in love.

I have seen RENT seven times and I must say the 20th Anniversary Touring Company performance was the worst performance of RENT I have seen. It seems to me the director tried to mask the singing and acting shortfall with unnecessary and exaggerated chorography. I realized for the first time just how hard the songs are to sing. Most of the performers eventually hit their stride with each song but it took several notes to get there. Much of the audience was seeing the show for the first time and therefore enjoyed the performance; however, if you have seen another touring company s performance or had the chance to see it in New York, you will be disappointed.

I've seen Rent over 20 years 3 other times live. This performance was my favorite ever. Unbelievable cast and musicians. I wanted to single someone out but it's just impossible. They were all so great. Loved it. I went to Saturday matinee and if tickets were available Sat night I would have attended again.

Great story. Good emotions. Amazing vocalists. Great musicians. Only negative for us would be, sometimes the musicians were louder than the vocalists and made it hard for us to understand the lyrics.
