Despite having a cold, Stephen's voice still sounded as amazing as it does in studio. With a charming stage presence, he dazzled us with a series of new songs while still playing all of our favorites. I would highly recommend going to one of his shows!

My brother and I enjoy listening to Stephen Lynch, from time to time, so I bought him (and me) tickets to the January 12, 2017 show at the Birchmere in Alexandria. I was able to get off from work early that day, so I got a good place in line and was able to score seats right up front. There was no opening act, so Mr. Lynch came on right on time, and started right into the show. He played a number of new songs that he said he was still working on, and planning on recording, and a number of classic songs. I was laughing so much that my stomach hurt and my face ached from smiling so much! Awesome show!

It was a small venue, very intimate show. Our seats were very close to the stage. It was an amazing line-up, and was a very comfortable environment. They even did a general meet and greet after the show!!!! It was one of the best nights I've ever had!!

He is a subversive genius. You feel ashamed to like it so much. But you just can't help it. If he wasn't so twisted you would love his musical talent, voice and instrumental both. Because he is so twisted, you like him all the more........ but you kind of hate yourself.

Stephen's 3 Balloons tour was great. Most of his show was new material. He did do a couple classics. Only wished he would have thrown a couple more in the set. With that being said, his new material was very funny. Stephen is a great musician. Along with his guitar, he added some piano play. Favorite part of the night was his rendition of Purple Rain. Will definetely come back to see him again.

This show was one of the best shows I have seen in al long time! It mixed the funniness of Stephen Lynch with a very Broadway like feel. He had a nice mix of old and new material, and he threw in some of his friend's stuff. Overall it was a great night and I would highly recommend it.

As funny as ever!!! This event was at the Birchmere in alexandria VA. If you go there in the future get there early so you can pick a good table/seat. We were right next to the stage. I would suggest being at least an 1 to 1 1/2 hours early. That's ok though because they serve food and drink in the theater so the time will pass quickly

Hilarious as always. Always been a huge fan and the new CD blew me away. Even though Stephen was VERY sick and on meds during the show, he still gave his all and rocked our pants off. You wouldn't even have known he wasn't feeling well. Very dedicated, funny, and energetic. Knew exactly how to deal with heckling and did not miss a beat. He was a genius. Bottom line, very funny, I recommend it.

It was another great Stephen Lynch show. Be prepared to laugh and be amazed at the different type of folks who find this man amazingly funny. This show was different from my first live experience. He does more improv type stuff, more folks joining in and the vids of course too. Not as many songs...a little bummed about that, but still well worth it. And the venue was great, very intimate.

Very Nice venue. The show was nice but I was a little disappointed.Steven said he was going to do old stuff during the second half of the show. But it was mostly new stuff he was working on. Still was funny but needs more of a mix between old and new since he took off for quite a few years.

Another old comic trying to get back in the spotlight by changing his songs to bad mouth 50% of the country to sell dvds to the younger listeners. It's disgusting how called the president a Nazi and also was not joking about it.

I've seen many of his shows and as always, he delivered a very fun filled night. There was a nice mix of old and new songs and the chemistry with Rod was much appreciated. He has a wonderful rapport with his audience and you really feel drawn in. I hate to say that I was not a fan of much of the new material such as it is, but perhaps the final product will change my mind. I would gladly see him perform again and plan on doing so the next time he is near my city.

As expected, had many laugh out loud moments. Enjoyed the new material. I wasn't among the few yelling out requests for older songs but none of my favorite older songs got sung (theirs didn't either however). I enjoyed some of his talking, some of it went on way to long, even after he acknowledged it went on too long. I think he could have played two additional songs if not for this.. or just because it felt a bit short to me. We were only row with these 2 extra seats stuck on the end and we were often bumped by people passing by. Also, HOB staff had loud conversations next to us - loud so they could hear each other talk so rude to those of us trying to hear the actual act. Find it funny this says to upload photos and videos when these were both strictly prohibited.. I don't even have a memento of the evening but am asked to post it :/

If you ever get a chance to see Stephen Lynch perform, do it! He's hilarious and extremely musically talented. He deals with jackasses in the audience perfectly. Also, thanks to Bogarts from quickly removing jerks from the audience. Shows they seem to care that the rest of us get to enjoy the show!

This was the first show I've ever seen at the Birchmere....and I loved it. Great venue and even better show. Stephen Lynch was hilarious. I laughed from start to finish; and with the help of Rod Cone (backing vocals) - it was a non-stop riot. The staff at the Birchmere were very organized and helpful. Bartenders mixed me two awesome Long Island Ice Teas.... I'll definitely return to the Birchmere.

Warning: Stephen Lynch really does some special things before his show. He could end up being under the influence of something, so watch out! He went into some rant about Creed with his bandmates for a good 10 minutes before actually starting the set list. At least his sense of humor makes up for the fact that he isn't really good about keeping things on track. Once he got started though, you could witness his artistry. He's most definitely better live and in an intimate venue than he is recorded. He puts quite a bit of swag and riffs into his songs. Set list was great too, he pulled out old favorites and ones from his new album. If you want comedy and quality singing, Stephen is your guy.

While the singing comedian was about 25 minutes late to start, he was well worth the wait. He is an incredible musician and keeps you laughing the entire time! In the two hour set, the audience was laughing so hard at times we missed the next joke! I would definitely recommend his show to anyone who is not too uptight to laugh at very politically incorrect jokes! *For a mature audience!

Great show Friday night at a brand new venue in The Space in Westbury. Upon entering the venue it feels very similar to The Paramount in Huntington with this classy bit industrial look. As for Stephen Lynch, this was my first time seeing him live and he more than met my expectations. He played a combination of songs off his new CD along with some classics and live only exclusives. By far the highlight of the night was him playing, " What if that guy from Smashing Pumpkins lost his car keys". This is one of my all time favorites and he closed with another personal favorite of mine in, " Classic Rock Tune". Overall it was a fun time and a great live experience. I'd definitely see hi again and I'm looking forward to my next show at The Space. The venue definitely has solid potential especially once the hire some better bartenders.

I was a big fan of Stephen Lynch way back when. First saw him back in 2005, and saw him a number of times between then and 2009. When I found out he'd be back in town for the first time possibly since 2009 (I hadn't heard about him since then, anyway), I jumped on it. Maybe my tastes have changed, maybe the new material wasn't as good, maybe the old material is stale. I enjoyed the show, but it wasn't special.

Stephen Lynch was very funny as always. The only thing I would have liked to see was more of his older material such as "Grandfather" and "Special Ed". The new album material is much more mellow including multiple duets with Courtney Jaye, and all of the backup vocalists had great chemistry on stage together. It was a great show, and I would highly recommend.

Overall a great show by stephen lynch. Although he seemed to be having a good time as the show progressed his initial attitude toward the small Verona crowd was slightly bitter and almost beneath him. As the show progressed ppl in the crowd continued to shout out and provoke him causing him to repremand and threaten to throw them out.despite the bad manners in the audience he put on a good show playing plenty of new songs and even some old favorites with poise and energy. Great show Stephen!

The best comedy show I've ever been to, and also one of the best concerts I've ever been to. Stephen played for close to 2 hours straight, only taking a break for about 3 minutes during that time. During the down time between songs he'd transition between explaining something from the previous song and start to introduce the next song through humorous stories. Very very highly recommended.

Stephen and his crew were, of course, amazing. The newer songs are a bit of a departure from some of his earlier work, but very funny just the same. His ability to make the audience laugh with his physical humor as well as his songs make him an all around excellent act to see. The only criticism I have is the audience. Stephen tends to play off of them during shows and they weren't giving him much to work with - just some heckling that we all could've done without.

Stephen Lynch made a comment that unlike Bon Jovi, he knows where his bread is buttered and that rest assure, the audience will hear his older music. Well the majority of the songs were off his new album, while favorite songs such as Superhero, Special Ed, and If I Were Gay to name a few, were completely missing. While I understand that you must play your new music to sell albums, true fans will buy your new album whether you force the music down their throats or not. This show was definitely a disappointment for me.

We (4) of us went to this show St Paddy's day weekend in Boston, expecting a big laugh - what we experienced was a very easily entertained audience - Stephen was ill prepared for the show, seemed high on stage and the first 45 mins was a snoozer, with maybe one or two songs that showed real talent - we were very disappointed from what we thought was going to be a load of laughs - should have left......not recommended.

Stephen Lynch is hilarious! We laughed throughout the whole show. The classic old songs still got laughs and the new songs were just as funny. Lynch is just funny to his bones and his ensemble of musicians were a nice addition. He's the type of person you just know would be cool to hang with and would keep you in stiches the whole time. I actually think I might have laughed harder at just his side remarks and improv than the songs. I would definitely recommend checking him out!

I have listened to Stephen Lynch for at least ten years. I saw him a few years ago at the Wilbur and had a great time. This time, not so much. He seemed generally annoyed being there and he talked most of the time instead of singing. He also told the same jokes over and over again where it wasnt funny anymore. His entourage was a bit off as well. He had a hot girl who sang beautifully, but she didnt fit...she wasn't funny...she was just eye candy. Another guy who was very musically talented didn't bring much comedy either and the last guy was a bit dorky and wasn't funny either. I was so disappointed. Nothing seemed off the cuff either...it all seemed very staged and tired. I think Lynch has sadly lost his edge.

Funny funny funny. One of the best shows you will ever see if u like witty music, smart writing, and flauless timing, then u have to see this show. Stephen Lynch and company and some of the smartest and funniest people on the planet. Yes they can be rude and straight forward at times but the do warn u. But even if u r offended, like my girlfriend was because she has a "gay tattoo", she was still laughing throughout the entire night. The only tragedy is that it took 6 year for Stephen Lynch to come back to Boston. Let us hope he is not gone for that long this time!!!!

Lynch performed a little over 2 hours even if he doesn't remember the first 30 minutes. He came out stoned and decided he wanted to play snippets of Journey songs on the piano. Eventually, he came down enough to put on a show and was good from there on. Lynch played mostly from the new album. The highlights were Let Me Inside and Tattoo.

Funniest comedy show I have ever seen. I've been to see Louis CK, Lewis Black, Dave Atwell, and many more. Lynch was incredible. Nonstop laughs for two hours. Everything was planned out and hilarious. There was no down time with a quiet audience. Just absolutely hilarious show

It was a ton of fun and the jokes were great although a lot of it seemed obviously planned. Hobo jokes were okay, and songs were great. Went on for sooo long, but it was funny until the end, so that's okay. Definitely great to see someone I loved when i was younger.

Hysterical show from beginning till end. So much so that The 2 - 2 1/2 hour set seemed to have flown by. I was a little worried that after listening to his new CD (Lion) a good 7-8 times that I might not find the punchlines all too funny, but that was not the case. Stephen's facial expressions as well as body gestures bring another element to each song. He does improvise lines in some songs to mix it up a bit. The CD songs are about half the show where as the other half is improvising, impersonations, working the crowd, cover band comedy, and song setups. You know a lot is improvised because Stephen even managed to have his stage partners wiping tears of laughter at times in the show. This was my 3rd time seeing Lynch live, it was the best show yet! Do yourself a favor and go see him if he tours anywhere near you.

I really hate to give Stephen only 2 stars, but I was very disappointed. He is my favorite singing comedian and I couldn't wait to see him perform his songs. Unfortunately, he only sang about 8 songs. 2 from Craig machine, 2 from Lion, 2 others I recognized, and 2 new ones. The rest of his act included some funny comedy bits he did with his friends. But mostly the at was comedic ramblings and partial Journey covers that went on way too long.

Stephen Lynch did a really great job -- played a lot of new material from his new CD "Lion" as well as some great oldies. I think seeing him live is a must for any fan because he's such a great improvisor when it comes to interacting with the crowd and his buddies on stage. If you have a chance to see him live, do it -- it's worth every penny...Just know that your sides will hurt from laughing all night long!

My wife and I haven't laughed so hard through an entire entertainment event since the Jackass 3 movie. Through all of the twists and turns and unexpected moments you can't help but laugh through some of the most entertainingly offensive material. We can't wait to seem again!

What an incredible show. For me, it blew away the show of his I saw at the Wiltern in '09. Gorgeous music with profane lyrics makes him a genius. Brilliant flow from one song to the next, seamless banter that connected one bit to the next. Courtney was everything I wanted her to be (though from our seats in the second row, her face was completely blocked by her music stand) as were Rod and CHARLIE! The way he stood up to Stephen's hobo jokes and his tiny harmonica were priceless. Charlie is King. I've listened to the new album, Lion, to death in my car for months and was a little concerned that I wouldn't laugh because I've memorized the whole thing. But no- not a problem! Between Lynch's trademark facial clowning, the on-stage antics and the surprising banter throughout, I never stopped laughing. Music and comedy PERFECTION.

Lynch was great as he has been whenever I've seen him. I enjoyed the new material immensely. I like that he incorporated female parts this time. The Birchmere is a great venue also.

I could listen to that guy for hours. I felt he was little rushed and did "an accommodating" encore, but beyond that, he was hysterical.
