Reliant was a great venue for the Meinke Car Care Bowl. The game was very exciting. My seats in Section 306 were great and well worth the ticket price. As my son is a student at Tech, our entire family went making it a great family experience.

It really would have been much better if the announcer was a little more animated and if the booth would NOT have played the canned music doing timeouts, between plays, etc. and let the college bands do their part to play the music for their team and crowd. That is part of why they are there, give them a break.

Good venue to watch a game. However, they made us leave immeadiately after the game instead of post game tailgating. Sat high but the view was good. Definitely use the escalators if you go.

The game was great. The aggies finally won a bowl game. I was upset with reliant stadium. It didnt feel like a real game since they didnt have the team names in the endzone. I know the Texans played the next day but something could have been done. I am also upset with the music they played. An aggie game is a different experience when you can listen to the aggie band. Northwestern would have been able to experience the true aggie spirit. The aggie band always plays the war hymn after the third quarter but reliant stadium was playing music. The band played anyway but you couldnt hear it. We sang as loud as possible to drown out the music. This isnt an nfl game. Its a college game for a reason. The 12th man wasnt present because of these reasons.

Parking, although somewhat overpriced, was efficient with plenty of staff to guide. The stadium had quick security and ticketing-checking and we no problems getting to our seats. The seats had a good view of the field and jumbotron. Food and drink were heavily overpriced, so we skipped them and went to a steakhouse afterwards. The matchup between NU and TAMU turned out to be a good one, coming down to a field goal with less than two minutes left to really seal it. The excitement was a lot better than anticipated for a low-ranked bowl game The biggest disappointment was audio. Both NU and TAMU brought bands, but the stadium decided to play music over top of them between snaps and between quarters. Inexplicable. Everyone preferred the bands to the generic hip-hop being pumped out the speakers. There were over 20 000 empty seats... so you don't need to worry about buying tickets early for this bowl. Wait to see if you favorite team is playing!

This bowl game was nicely executed and easy to attend. My comments for improvement would be directed to those who work with the audio and video for the venue. With a college football game there is not a need to have music playing over the loudspeakers during the game- both college bands made an attempt to play and were often overshadowed by pre-recorded selections from a booth more in tune with a professional game compared to the environment of a college football game. Cut out the Ozzy and the other typical venue music and let us hear a real college game!

My friends and I really enjoyed the game on New Years eve. Next year Meineke Car care bowl will need to invite SEC vs Big 12 teams. This could lead to a possible TAMU vs Texas game and help restore the rivalary in our great state. The Meineke Bowl could make big $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

The overall presentation of the game was very entertaining. It was good seeing the Texas football legends recognized prior to the game. My complaint is that this is a college bowl game with 2 universities with very good bands. For some reason, during every time out and break on the field, extremely loud music was played over the PA to fill the air space. Both bands played during the time, but they were almost inaudible. Save AC/DC for the Texans games on Sunday to fill the void. I prefer the Fighting Texas Aggie Band at a college game.

If this were a Professional football game, I could understand the playing of LOUD MUSIC over the public address (PA) system during a lull in play. However, both schools had their own bands present, and the PA would constantly drown the bands out. This was very irritating. Texas A&M's Fighting Texas Aggie Band plays the schools fight song between each quarter, however, this was impossible because of the LOUD PA blaring music. Be more considerate of each schools bands next time.

Overall the bowl was awesome, but whoever operates the music should be fired. During tw game the music was too loud and often outplayed both of the teams bands. Sometimes when the bands were playing it seemed like the music was turned up louder. The music is fine for a Texans game but please let the bands provide the music for college games held in reliant in te future

We thoroughly enjoyed the bowl, simply because the Aggies were participants. However, there were several things that really irritated me on Reliant's part. First, loud music was played nearly constantly. I understand their need to fill air space, especially during pro football commercial timeouts. However, both college bands were trying to play as well. Reliant could have suspended "Freeze Frame" or any number of other songs to allow the student bands to have a chance to shine. Also, we planned ahead so we wouldn't have to purchase any over-priced Reliant food. However, we purchased a foot-long hotdog during the 2nd quarter. The bun was so hard and stale, it might as well have been croutons! The selection at Reliant is very limited and I won' t ever buy food from there again.

It was fun to watch the Aggies play in this great stadium with lots of other Aggies. We came to the game early to attend the pre-game event outside. The music was good, but I couldn't believe they ran out of food at 9:45am for the 11am game. The vendor was unprepared for the crowd numbers. They should know that Aggies always turn out for our team! Parking was easy for the Green lot.

This is a college game, not a pro game - too much public address and piped-in music and not enough from the bands and the cheer/yell leaders. When the bands were playing out could to hear them over the music over the loud speakers. Do the leaders try to do any cheers or yells? I could to tell because of other noise.

Good job putting on the bowl. Decent sized crowd, concession lines were good, no parking troubles. The weather was nice so I do wish they would have opened the roof - while having the roof closed helped the noise level, it also sterilized the setting. Only other item is too many ads blaring while the university's bands were trying to play. Honestly, I know ad revenue is important, but I would bet most would rather hear the bands and lower the volume of the ads. 11am kickoff sucked a bit & limited the stellar tailgating opportunities normally found at Reliant, but I recognize that was a TV network decision and not the bowl's choice. Glad the bands performed at halftime instead of goofy lip-synching 'stars' or jr.high drill teams like at some other bowls. I enjoy having a bowl in Houston - B12 & B10 is a good matchup regardless of records.

MY seat was great, and the usher most helpful, but I got a hamburger and fries from the ??Princes?? in the Lone Star Café behnd section 353 in the south end zone of level 3, and it was nothing but dried out meat, cheese, and a dry bun. There was nothing to put on it but mustard or onions in the cart. No tomatoes, lettuce or anything else. Last year I got a very good, full, burger at the same stand, but this year it was terrible. Please close this stand and replace it before the Super Bowl. This is embarrassing to Houston!!!! This is even worse than the wienie and bun hotdog at Kyle Field, but at least it had Slovak sausage! and I knew that was what I was getting!

This was a very good experience. The seats we had were nosebleed section and I was still able to watch the plays. Scoreboard was kind of weird. Replays looked great, there was a play by play and in house televised commentary which was nice to have. Parking was expensive 30 dollars if you wanted to park inside, but there was plenty of cheaper parking if you wanted to chance it outside NRG stadium. Kansas seemed wanting it more than A and M, even the home crowd looked somewhat in dream land unlike the crowds I have seen on TV during the regular season. Over all it was a a competitive game, that came down to the last minute. Thats the bottom line.

I had my 16 year old grandson with me and the Texas Tech fan behind him kept pouring beer on him and his vocabulary consisted of three words which we can not list here. Also on the row in front of us there was a Texas tech fan that was smoking and at halftime we told a security guard in our section about him and he said he would check on it he continued smoking through the end of the third quarter when we left but we never saw the security guard during this quarter. Therefore for the reasons stated above, I doubt we would ever go to the Advocare Bowl again.

The game was great, the only complaint, and its a big one was that there was almost no LSU or Texas Tech merchandise, at the areas where it was sold, 90% of it was Houston Texans gear. I live in Houston, grew up here and love the Texans, but come on, it's a game between two great schools and they did not have much at all. We were sorely disappointed in that.

Unfortunately, there were two rows of LSU fans in Section 116 that ruined the event for everyone else in the proximity to them. They were stumbling drunk upon arrival, continued to drink rum that they smuggled into the building, repeatedly violated the "space" of those sitting in front of them by intentionally whacking an Aggie in the back of the head just because he was wearing an A&M hat with an Aggie logo on the back, continuously used loud profane language within earshot of women and children, were defiant and unapologetic when asked to refrain from profane language, and assaulted the Aggie by punching him in the head and ripping off his glasses and hat and throwing them several rows down in the crowd. When security kicked them out of the game and arrested the person who assaulted the Aggie, the remainder of the "group" threatened to escalate the situation all the while blaming the Aggie for their buddies' inappropriate behavior. The mother of the man arrested also assaulted the Aggie for turning in her son to the police. The Aggie showed great restraint by not reporting her as well. Oh well, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. If there is an LSU fan out there that abhors this type of behavior, please respond. If not, we will have to assume that all LSU fans are of this ilk. By the way, the Aggie went to the game with the intent to root for the SEC. However, within a few minutes of the LSU fans' arrival at the game the Aggie's rooting swung over to Texas Tech. What a shame to LSU, the great State of Lousiana, and the SEC.

We were so excited to watch our team play, and enjoyed the game even though Tech lost to LSU. Our seats were high, as we expected, but we could see the field well. Our only disappointment was that we purchased a parking pass to the red lot next to the field. We arrived an hour and ten minutes before kickoff and were told the red parking lot was full. They sent us to the orange lot, which was farther from the stadium. They shouldn't sell more parking passes than they have parking places!

Great college atmosphere, we expected LSU to represent but to my surprise Texas Tech showed up with big numbers as well. I'm from Louisiana blaring from the sound system every time LSU scored probably aggregated the TX Tech fans but it come with the territory when you play the prize program from the State of Louisiana or Da Boot as us locals choose to refer it to. My seats were a better than I expected and although our section was mixed with both teams fans we enjoyed the spirit and enthusiasm that comes with the pageantry of a sold out college football bowl game!

First of all the game started very late and combine that with rush hour traffic, it was a mess of a traffic jam attempting to enter the stadium's parking lots. Second, the parking fees were outrageously high. College sports and especially all of the postseason college football bowl games are geared towards the almighty dollar.

As a Brit the thing I love about college sports is that the fan support for their teams is a long term thing, loaded with tradition and history, like soccer in Europe. This adds to the spectacle and atmosphere of the game, the team spirit walk, the bands which don't just play they entertain. The game was between two well matched teams and was gripping to the end, Reliant Stadium is a superb facility in which to watch football. Texfest was a little underwhelming but still enjoyable. The game was fun. We didn't have a dog in the fight but it was a good game between two well matched teams. It kept us in our seats until the last second. My only complaint was with Reliant; I paid good money to watch a game in climate controlled comfort. The day of the event I get a nice reminder and update stating the roof will be open. When we bought tickets to this game, the event was promoted as a game featuring a team from the Big Twelve which is a conference that we follow. So, we bought a couple of pricey tickets. When the teams were announced there was no Big Twelve team. Why would a bowl game in Houston feature a Big East team? We went for the competition, but left by third quarter, regretting the expenditure.

Enjoyed the game and the access in and out was great at Reliant. We really enjoyed the club seating and the variety of food and drinks. Really courteous personnel and knowledgeable about the venue. Good view, and the sound system was good without being too loud.

The Stadium was wonderful, clean, comfortable - the staff friendly and helpful. My only complaint was that the piped in music was piped in - WAY TOO MUCH! There were 2 college bands there - but the bowl committee seemed to drop the ball regarding coordinating their playing. The NW band seemed to always be playing - even when the Aggie Band was playing - the NW band had microphones, that did seem to be turned off when it was the Aggie Band's turn to play. My family all had various levels of headaches upon leaving the game due to the loud sound - it is one thing to have a loud crowd or loud band music - it is another altogether to have the cacaphony of sound. The bowl should be worked more like a college game, where there is a script and specific times for the different bands to play.
