The Oak Ridge Boys

The Oak Ridge Boys' timeless country and gospel classics may date back to the World War II era, but the band is still a force to be reckoned with in the 21st century. I don't think there were any bad seats in the audience. It was just the right sized venue for this group. Ticket prices were reasonable. I would go again if I had the opportunity!

This is the first return for The Oak Ridge Boys since the hurricane hit, and they hit Biloxi Hard Rock with hurricane force! With a new cd released just a couple months ago, they were armed with alot of new music plus all the classics like "Elvira" that everybody loves! The venue was packed and sold out, everyone had a great time. I hope they come back to Biloxi Hard Rock soon!

There was way too much focus on solos and on new religiotic (religious/patriotic) themes. I'm patriotic, but when you start mixing the two we're talking theocracy. That's a scary theme and not what I went there to enjoy. They skipped a lot of their really good old songs in favor of stuff from their new CD. The lead singer did a lot of unnecessary posturing on stage for the amount ot talent he was able to display. I was very disappointed and so was my guest. Won't be seeing any more of their shows. I saw them only once before--back in the 60s when they were a gospel quartet. They were a lot better then.

....in a rocking chair!!! I love the Oak Ridge Boys and have seen them many times over the years; however, they don't have the crowd appeal that they had in their heyday!! I would recommend that someone go see them if they have not seen them for awhile; however, I would not go back.

The Oak Ridge Boys first half comprised of major past hits were awesome The second half after intermission that consisted of new hits was rather weak and kind of depressing. They should stick to their old material and pick a new direction for original music.

Nine times out of ten our trips to Branson are planned around when the OAKS are going to be there! We never get tired of seeing them. Not only are the FOUR OAKS amazingly good, the members of the MOB (Mighty Oaks Band) are exceptionally talented musicians and singers also. GREAT bunch of guys!

I had no doubts that this would be an amazing show and it certainly was. They were very entertaining, and sound just as great in person as they do on the radio or CD. My wife and I celebrated our 36th anniversary with an Oak Ridge Boys concert. The two hour show featured each member as the lead, at various points during the show. I was totally impressed with the harmony and voice quality of each member, throughout the concert. If you have never heard the Oak Ridge Boys live before, you'll want to add their show to your "Bucket List". If you have heard them previously, you should try to catch another show while all of the current members are still touring. Since the concert, I've played nothing but Oak Ridge Boys and William Lee Golden songs. Also, I've read everything on the internet about the Oaks and each member of the group. Perhaps you can tell, "I loved their show!"

I have been a huge fan of The Oak Ridge Boys for many years. Their performance March 24, 2017 at Choctaw Grand Theater in Durant, OK was fantastic! I could not have imagined a better show. The great bass voice of Richard Sterban was even better than in past performances. Of course the all time favorite "Elvira" ended the 1 1/2 hour concert with the auditorium filled with fans singing along. Loved it!

I've been a fan of the Oak Ridge Boys all my life. I got to see them twice as a teenager in the 1980's. This past weekend was the first time I've seen them in over 30 years and they were just as spectacular as ever. If you're a fan of real country music, you must see these guys in concert! Their harmonies are as tight as ever and they put everything they have in their performance. They sang for around 90 minutes and gave us a fine selection of their greatest hits, some newer songs and some very emotionally moving gospel songs. Go see them and take your kids and grandkids to show them what real country music sounds like!!!

I have been a fan of the Oak Ridge Boys since the middle 70s and have seen them perform at least 3 or 4 times prior to this performance, but it has probably been 20+ years since the last time. This concert was 90 minutes of solid singing, including 2 encore songs. They certainly have not let their age slow them down. All four members had their moment to shine and it was fun to hear many songs from their early years. They did a good job of interacting with the audience.

The boys did a good mix of their old hits, gospel, and their newer hits. Was rather surprised they didn't take an intermission.......but that's alright. After almost 2 hours they ended with Elvira then Bobby Sue. My only complaint was with the venue. They set up padded folding chairs with no space inbetween. You talk about tight quarters! I probably won't go back to the venue because we're from the Des Moines area and we normally see the Boys at the Civic Center or Hoyt Sherman Place where you have a little comfort.

This was my 3rd time to see the Oaks in concert; however, it has been many years since I last saw them. They did an awesome job!! It was a great show. We had seen them twice before and they were very good then, but they seemed even better this time. Maybe it was the front row seats we had 3 feet from the stage that helped to make them better, but I do believe they even sounded better this time.

There is NOT an Act that is touring today, that gives so much of themselves to their craft. After touring for over 40 years, you would expect they might take a night off, but not the Oaks. Every member put 110% into their show, and encouraged and entertained all in attendance. They sang for over 90 minutes straight. You got more than your money worth of entertainment.

The Oak Ridge Boys still got it! They rock. They have a blend of voices that continue to move me. It's clear they enjoy performing and love their audience. With as many number 1 hits as they have, it was easy to sing along with every song. They put their heart and soul into each number. The keyboardist was absolutely terrific! I loved him, and the whole band as well. I only wish they would have played longer, but it's ok, I loved every single minute of their performance.

We did enjoy the evening. Both the opening band, Bella Cain, and the ORB were real show "men." It was musically well done. We were pleased to learn Bella Cain is a local group. We may try to see them again. Our seats were just fine. We were disappointed we didn't recognize more than a couple of tunes. We also were not fans of the splashy bright lights shining in our eyes during the show. We don't think the ORB is the kind of musical group that flashing lights go with. They should ditch the lights. It also seemed to us that the spot lights were too bright for the performers. The man who sang bass could not look out at the audience at all do to the bright lights. One last issue - the mixing of the music and the voices prevented us from being able to hear the voices well enough in both groups.

This was the 4th or 5th time we have seen this group in concert. They didn't hit all of our favorites, but they did enough to send us away happy. The group clearly has gotten older but their harmonies are still tight and their showmanship still shines. The audience has gotten a lot older too. Wow. Talk about a group of old white people, many of whom sat on their hands.Sparse crowd, too. We knew nothing about the warmup group: Bella Cain and were VERY impressed. Lots of energy and plenty of talent.

This concert was truly a step back in time when quartets were many. It was great to see how they have really not changed and are so open to their audience. Most of the audience were 50+ and we all were able to sign the words. It was also heartwarming to see William Golden in the crowd. The ORB are excellent entertainers and put on a great show. We saw them last year in Branson. Only problem with this concert was the awful acoustics in this old auditorium. The sound just wasn't good and often couldn't understand the words to the songs.

The Oaks amazed, from the first note to the two song encore. Ninety minutes of perfection! The current crop of "country" artists could learn a lot from these guys. Sound quality was great, hit after hit. All four members gave energetic performances, each interacting with the audience in their own way. Joe Bonsall was all over the stage moving to the music. Duane Allen strolled around like he owned the place, as comfortable on stage as anyone I've ever seen. Richard Sterban shook my first row seat with his low notes. And, as always, William Lee Golden was the coolest cat in the room. All four shook hands with fans that made their way to the stage, and posed as they sang for those snapping pictures. Their talent, stage presence and down to earth attitude make for a great show. It's easy to see how these guys have been so successful for more than 40 years.

This was an amazing venture to start out with. The concert was on a Sunday and I didn't order the tickets until the Friday before the concert. Well, my gosh...I sure was super surprised that there were 4 seats left on the very front & center stage at that!!! I grabbed 2, one for myself & one for my niece. I'm 48 & she is 38 & we LOVE music from the late 70"s & 80's, so this was right up our alley. We cried & we laughed. It was truly the best concert that I have ever attended. These guys interacted with the audience, we even walked by stage and shook their hands. Not many stars will do that today. Everything about this venture was a pleasant experience. We defiantly want to see them again!! (I know all the songs they sang because I was given the song list after the show!)

My wife and I had heard the Oak Ridge Boys the last time they were at the Missouri State Fair in 2002. Some groups never lose their appeal. This is one of those groups. When you hear advertised that such-and-such group is coming, it s often a collection of completely different artists than the original group members and they re trying to copy their style. Not so with the Oak Ridge Boys. Some 4 guys singing together for 40 years now. I loved it!

Overall, we thought the concert was excellent. Larry Gatlin's voice has noticeably changed since we saw and heard him in Branson. He should avoid the high notes. Still LOVE their harmony! Crystal Gayle - very good, but a few too many songs. Made for a longggg wait 'til the Oak Ridge Boys - the group that brought the house down. Still one of the best musical groups in every way. The ONLY down side during the whole evening? Too much beer sold to 5-6 women sitting behind us. They talked, screamed, laughed and carried on non-stop the first 2 hours! It was hard to even hear the musicians talk. Even angry stares did nothing to quiet them down. Thankfully, just before the Oak Ridge Boys, they all left - and the silence behind us was blissful. What can concert-goers do at a time like this?

This was my sixteenth time I have seen the Oak Ridge Boys at the Ohio State Fair! The guys still know how to please the crowd. If you have never seen the Mighty Oaks you really need to, you will really get your moneys worth and get tickets through Ticket Master I have never had a bad seat to any show going thru them. My husband and I have a tradition on Thanksgiving weekend. We avoid the craziness of shopping and "Black Friday" and the commercialism that kicks off the Christmas season, and do something memorable instead. This year we chose a trip to Lake County, Indiana, the highlight being the Oak Ridge Boys Christmas show. They did not disappoint! The Oak Ridge Boys obviously love what they do, and it is evident with every song. Their vocals are stellar, and the musicians tight. The show included a set of their country hits, followed by an intermission, then the Christmas show. They sang fun songs about Santa Claus and cookies and reindeer, but ended the show by emphasizing the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of Jesus.

The ORB is such a talented group,they are always full of energy and have a good time entertaining the crowd. The band is AWESOME. The sang for 90 minutes straight not a lot of talking but alot of good singing, they sang old songs and a variety of new songs. This show was a fabulous mix of the good ole recognizable Oak Ridge Boys with a gentle and sweet Christmas joy. The time that they spent in the rocking chairs gave us an emotional insight into the hearts of these fine men. The tribute to our soldiers and first responders was enough to tear your heart out . I took my mom to see them for her 69th birthday and we were blessed to be a part of it. I am not sure who enjoyed it more, but I think it was a great way to spend the evening. I am going to look forward to taking my whole family next year if they come back to Indy ! Thanks Oaks!!

The Oaks get better and better every time I see them. I think I am up somewhere around 35-40 concerts by now, spread over the past 30+ years. I have seen their Christmas show several times, and each time it is different enough that it seems brand new again. I loved their Cracker Barrel set and the stories they told about their Christmas memories! I have been listening to them sing for years, but it was very nice to hear them speak for once, usually Joe is the only one who talks and that's not much since they sing so many songs at their concerts. The concert started at 7:30PM and didn't get over until 10PM so it was very much worth the price of the ticket. So many great songs and a few new ones thrown in too that were awesome as well.

The Oak Ridge Boys don't get older they get better. The show was outstanding as alway's. Not my first time seeing them and not my last. There was a 5-6 year old girl beside us & they even held her attention. Wish they had sang more of the old country & gospel songs. But I realize they must move on with the day & time. You guy's were the most there just isn't enough to words to discribe the show. Wish they would come more often.

The guys did a remarkable show in celebrating ELVIRA'S 30th birthday with lots of audience participation and sing-alongs. Joe was good, as well as Duane, and William Lee and Richard were just outstanding too. Keep up the good work guys. Can't wait until I can see them again.

I have always been a fan of both artists and was extremely pleased with their performances. I especially liked the song written by Jamey Johnson "Mama's Table" that the Oak Ridge Boys sang ~ my kitchen table has been through at least 3 generations of my husbands family. I had recently been considering getting rid of it but I think I'll keep it around a while longer. I was very impressed with Billy Dean, I have always loved his music but the care and attention he showed to his fans, taking time to have pictures made with each one and signing every single CD that was purchased was very special. Not many artists do that and I want him to know I appreciated it very much.

From the first song to the last (which came entirely too soon) the Boys sang their hearts out while witnessing their love for Christ our Saviour and celebration of His birth. They put the Christ back in Christ-mas and showed us the Reason for the Season! Praise the Lord!

It was a very enjoyable show that started with about 45 minutes of their big hits such as Elvira and some new music from their most recent CD releases. After a 20 minute break, the Christmas portion of the night's show was a very energetic and uplifting collection of traditional Christmas music with some newer Christmas music from their latest Christmas CD. All in all, a very enjoable evening.

The concert was awesome. We had great seats center stage on the 6th row. It was great to see the Oak Ridge Boys in concert. I have never been to one of their concerts until now & they know how to put on a great show. If you are a fan, you should see them in concert. I don't think you will be disappointed at all. The venue was great also even though they were in the middle of renovating.

We have been going to the Oaks' shows since the 1970's when they came to Eastern Illinois University. They get better each year with new ways to share their music. It was great to see them in Illinois so close to home. The whole crew of the Oaks does a great job of recognizing and sharing their music. Way to go!!!!

I'm not much of a country listener but this was the first time I really enjoyed a country rythem and the vocals were out of this world! The Oak Ridge Boys made me feel right at home, just like family at the show and even made me feel like I was part of the band, singing and clapping to the joy of Harmony and sharing Jesus Birthday was a pure Blessing with the BOYS! One true CLASS Act Proformance by a group of outstanding GENTLEMEN! GOD BLESS THE U.S.A. and GOD BLESS THE OAK RIDGE BOYS! Once again thank you for a super gig at the Stranahan!

Joe Bonsil is still full of energy, Willie Lee Golden is a wonderful presence on stage even when he's just standing there n ot to mention his beautiful voice is still there, Duane Allen still sings wonderfully & Richard Sterban can still hit those LOW notes! A very high energy, uplifting show. Their voices still blend as great as they ever did. The sang some new songs, their Big hits & then did a wonderful heartfelt Christmas set. I was blown away they still have it & I would recommend this show to everyone!

Truly enjoyed the event. The crowd control and traffic were a bit of a challenge, but was acceptable for that type of event. The sound and lighting were excellent and took great advantage of all resources. Facility could have done better with refreshments. Would like to enjoy other similar events in near future. I enjoyed the Branson Oak's concert. Though it was a huge audience, the Oak's gave it a sense of intimacy, and friendliness. Very comfortable. My only concern was the lack of Southern Gospel in the concert. It has been said that the Oak Ridge Boys are returning to their Gospel roots, but that fact was not evidenced in the choice of the program variety. Out of the many good songs, there was only one that hinted at Gospel, but non of the traditional Southern Gospel that is on some of their recordings. I left with a lot of CDs and a DVD of Southern Gospel, but was very disappointed with the lack of this in the live concert.

Even though the weather was rainey, the Oak Ridge Boys came out and gave it their all during the time that they had. They are amazing singers..it's hard to pick a favorite because they are each unique. They were energetic on stage and it was worth the money!!! I've got the new CD...Go Buy it!

The Oak Ridge Boys with Larry Gatlin was a tremendous show. Gatlin always has had a great voice and good songs. The Oaks are just tremendous showmen proven over many decades. My favorite country group.

Excellent show. I have been an Oak fan for a long time and have seen a lot of shows. You could tell the boys were in their own theatre, they were so relaxed. They always put on a good show, but this was one the best I have seen for a long time.

The seating, the presentation, lighting and the music and singing was outstanding for both groups. The only complaint I had with the whole production was that the sound system was terrible. The music overrode the voices so much if you didn't know the song you would not have known what they were saying. This was greater with the Oak Ridge Boys than with the Gatlin Bros. since the presentation of each is different. Other than that it was a great concert just not long enough with either group!! Will definitely go again and again to see these entertainers and I highly recommend their shows.

In the late 60's we use to see the Oakridge Boys at the Gospel Music Events in Fort Worth. The Happy Goodman's, Florida Boys and Oakridge Boys were our favorites. It was amazing to see them again after 50 years. We feel so blessed. This was our 3rd concert in 54 years, 1st, Sonny ^ Cher 1971, Garth Brooks mid 1990's and the Oakridge Boys 2018.

The Gatlin Brothers were awesome. From All the Gold to Broken Lady , they were spot on. The Oaks left room for improvement. Their sound mix was terrible. There was too much band over the voices and you could barely hear the singers. Afterwards, I sent Duane Allen and Joe Bonsall a critique and was told that they had a substitute sound guy that night. It was obvious. Such a shame as they are truly one of America s iconic groups. The Horseshoe venue was outstanding.

It was a real privilege to get to see the Oaks and Home Free at the same event, and even better to see them perform together on a couple of sets. Both groups put on great shows. The move indoors due to rain was handled very well, with good information to ticketholders, and the indoor arrangements were excellent. The Oak Ridge Boys have been around for a long time and still can get an audience fired up. Their energy at their age is inspiring! I would have liked the sound level just a little lower for the Oaks show. It was on the verge of distortion a few times.

Enjoyed the first ever concert of the Oak Ridge Boys and Home Free. Glad that they were able to move it inside with the challenging weather that week. The only negative comment I have is that I was disappointed that the Oak Ridge Boys didn't sing Bobbie Sue!
