The show was amazing and definitely worth seeing. If it ever comes back to Anaheim I would go see it again immediately but next time I will try and get VIP seats. The show was so beautiful and well thought.

This show was amazing in all aspects...from the costumes to the Dragons themselves...so real looking. We did the most expensive package ticket for VIP treatment etc...well worth the money. You were dressed as a Viking and had photos given to you...the VIP Gift Bag...was great in everything that was in there. The meet and greet with the Stars of the show was only so-so....you were not able to stop and get your photo done with them only pass them by doing High Fives...kinda not right for a Meet and Greet...HERE IS A GREAT IDEA FOR YOUR SHOW.......Have the 2 cast members who are at this silly meet and greet be there when you get your photos taken....it will save time and you should perhaps add a Dragon to the photo as they are the true stars of this show. We really loved this show and hope everyone gets a chance to see it one day.

Amazing show!! If you have young children that liked/loved the movie, "How To Train Your Dragon", they will LOVE this event!! I am not sure who liked this play more, my 5 year old son or me. I could not stop watching and only hope they come out with a video of this play once it is concluded. Wish I had a video recorder with me!! The Dragons blew me away!! I HIGHLY recommend this play.

Hard to understand Stoik (?), Hiccup`s father with all the echoes..but if you saw the movie first the plot was easy to follow...the dragons themselves were amazing works of art--they matched their movie counterparts; very realistic! We had a 2 yr old with us; she enjoyed everything except the people-roles just speaking; she loved the dragons... I am sure the reception will be incredible wherever this show goes!

I thought going into the show as a 22 year old female it might be kind of stupid. The projections and the way dreamworks made the dragons was out of this world and made the production so amazing.

Wasn't sure what to expect; I was impressed with the creative way the rear backdrop and floor was used to create the illusion of the dragons flying, Hiccup climbing and doing other crazy things as well as making the Red Death Dragon fly. Well acted; felt like we were in and reliving the movie. The Animatronic Dragons were pretty convincing, especially Toothless, and were a trip to watch. Overall well worth the money to relive the first film with real actors and convincing Dragons.

he show was exciting and breath taking all at the same time. Me and my 9 year old daughter thought it was amazing. She loved every part of the show I asked her after the show what was her favorite part and she said she did not have a favorite part she said the whole show was her favorite and she could not choose just one. It was our favorite show so far. A must see for every one.

Wow- My 10 yo daughter has been obsessed with this Movie but this show was more than a dream. The dragons were gorgeous! It was amazing to see them fly and trot around the stage. The entire backdrop was projected on the walls and floors- amazing! All of the the projections were grand to the scale of the opening ceremony of the Olympics! To see the actors scaling the wall as if to run on the projected bridge, I wish I spent even more money to go behind the scenes. If this ever tours again I will there. The music, acting, Dragons- it all was amazing and unforgettable- my child just lived her dream:)

I am a HUGE How to Train Your Dragon fan! Saying "I love it" is an understatement. Anyways, I was so excited when I got my Meet the Dragons VIP ticket for Christmas that I could hardly wait for the show. The detail they put into getting this show together is phenomenal. The dragons are all hand painted and all the actors in the show seem to have come from a circus! They were doing stunts in the air and on the stage floor. This show was definitely spectacular and I'd go to it every single day of I could. Love love LOVED it!!! Thank you for such a memerable experience :)

First of all...great show !...a little long on the dialogue..special fx good..sound was clear..and story was good...my 5 yr old loved it!. .....for a few dollars more...seating becomes unobstructed, which is good the kiddos...we chose premium seating...and had waiters and waitresses..which kept us in our seats..so, the overall experience was a big plus....we went on Thurs pm....and my son is still playing with his dragon!....

I actually had no idea what to expect when I purchased tickets to this event for my grandchildren for Christmas. It just sounded like a fun event to take them to. I was totally amazed and delighted, as were they and my daughter! I've never seen anything like it: video lights as scenery from floor to ceiling, huge realistic looking dragons, and live performers. It was awesome! I would eagerly attend another one of these live spectacular performances again.

The show was pretty good My nine year old grandson enjoyed it Slight delay near the end , tech difficulties I guess What took away from the experience was the very uncomfortable seat as well as the rude family that occupied the three rows ahead of us The man in the first row stool up and let the row behind him eat his popcorn which blocked our view of the performance. Another distraction was the late arrivals.Bring a cushion for the seats also arrive early if you plan on getting any shirts or program and Bring lots of money Parking was 12 dollars and you needed cash

I thought this was going to be another version of DISNEY ON ICE (which was horrible). My wife kept telling me she wanted to take our son's but I didnt care to much to take them. It wasnt until a co-worker showed me a YouTube Video of the performance. The minute after watching the video I had to order the tickets. It was the best thing I've bought in a while. To see the looks on our kids face during the ENTIRE show was priceless. Both our son's faces lit up in excitement. The dragons where so realistic. The actually interacted with the actors. The dragons walked step-by-step, they flew, the spit flames, the even fought each other. Not to mension the amazing FX during the show. The actors interacted with moving images being displayed on the ground and backdrop. Our kids LOVED it so much they wont stop asking to go again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TO ANY PARENTS. THE KIDS WILL NEVER FORGET THIS EXSPERIENCE!

I was waiting in line for an hour at the San Jose show that was cancelled. My kids and I really wanted to see the show so we decided to give them another chance. We drove 2 hours to the Sunday show in Sacramento. This time, the show wasn't cancelled, but the screen was broken. The big projector screen was only working for the first 10 - 15 minutes. After that, it was a big black curtain in the middle. The dragons were amazing. However, the execution of the show was very poor. Seats are also uncomfortable.

This was an awesome show! I took my 5 year old, who complained that it was too loud, and my 8 1/2 year old who has no complaints to see it in Sac, CA. I loved that the show wasn't too long, i feared my boys getting restless total time was about 2 hours and that included 20 minute break. Toothless was the best of all the dragons for sure, it was hard not to humanize the emotions he displayed. The acting was a bit cheesy, Astrid was so over dramatic for ALL her scenes it was almost comical. All in all it is worthy to see, the swag is highly over priced, parents prepare! i spent 20 bucks for light up viking hats x2, plus snacks in the show at 6 bucks x2 for a total of 52 DOLLARS! Ouch! Ohh well how often do you get to watch flying dragons?

I loved the movie and was very excited when I received the notice they had made it into a live show. I went with my little cousin and my daughter. While they omitted some parts that were in the movie, it was an amazing experience. We all had a really great time. We sat in the "Dragon Hot Seat" sections. I had thought that meant that maybe they would fly over our section. That is not the case. They were really good seats though. My cousin is a special needs child. It was easy for her to get to the seats. Not a lot of stairs and we were on the isle. We had a clear view of all of the performers. They did an amazing job converting the movie to a live performance. I am really glad we went. I love the way they set the background scenes up. It was beautiful and the kids get completely drawn into the story. Was well worth going.

We saw the show in San Jose, CA on 12/28/2012. The dragons were amazing to see in person - so lifelike and huge in scale. The effects were amazing combining the dragons with projections, music, and performers. Our seats were on the side of the arena and were very close though I'm sure the seats head-on at the end of the arena had a more coherent view of the elements than we did. My wife and I both liked the show a lot, our kids loved it. We're all fans of the movie and recently the kids have begun watching the TV series, so we're very familiar with the characters, themes, and storyline. That said, we loved being able to 'experience' the world of Dragons but some of the great storytelling was lost in translation. The bonding between Hiccup and Toothless was very brief and admittedly hard to convey in an arena show. The segment where Hiccup invents a mechanical tail to help the injured night fury fly again had an amazing moment with hiccup sketching ideas and discovering the right one. But the moments before and after that understanding Toothless was hurt and trapped or the moments where Hiccup first got the contraption working we're truly lost. Toward the end, in the battle with Green Death, without seeing the movie or reading the book, I don't see how anyone could follow what was going on. Hiccup discovered with Toothless how to defeat a dragon by igniting them inside before they could breath fire. In the show, that didn't happen. There are other holes like this that we were able to navigate because we know he story so well, but it was a little disappointing to see these "misses." Overall the experience of the live show is worth the price of admission. I hope they continue to refine the show to improve for audiences in upcoming locations.

This show is completely, as it is appropriately named, "spectacular. " It's a wonderful experience for any fans of the 2010 movie, but it's also a great show for anyone who likes dragons, or even with an interest in puppetry/robotics. We had an awesome time, it truly was spectacular...what we could see anyway. The venue should really consider that seats closest to the stage are not premium. We paid extra for these seats and were disappointed. While being close to the dragons is awesome the lighting used blocks your view for a lot of the show. You see a big black blob in front of you instead of what's going on. Also, because the stage has a barrier surrounding it, any performance on the floor is also unseen. You really should opt for seating that is directly in front of the stage and not on the sides. While higher up seating will allow for a better view the best performance will come from directly in front. Aside from the seating issue the performance was truly amazing. My 8 year old didn't blink the entire performance and I'm not quite sure how his cheeks didn't cramp from the smiling! My husband and I also enjoyed every bit of it...our inner child beaming with joy. A great show for all ages!

Took my 8 yo grandson to see the event and he was totally amazed as I was. Was on the edge of his seat for most of the show. Was dissappointed when there was an intermission. He said, "Ahhh, this is just like a comercial, right at the best part." Bought quit a few of the keepsake items, the flashing viking hat ( a must), pendant, 2 t-shirts and the program. If nothing else I highly recommend the program. It is an excellent quality pictorial of the dragons and the crew and what it takes to make a show. Money and time well spent.

My husband and I spent the extra money to purchase the VIP "A Hero's Welcome" package. While we absolutely LOVED the show and would see it again in a heartbeat, the VIP package fell short of our expectations. The VIP parking was wonderful and we loved the family photo experience where we got to dress up like vikings... but the meet and greet was subpar as was the post show tech talk. The meet and greet was not actually a meet and greet so much as it was the actors for Hiccup and Astrid coming out on a private stage to say hi to the whole group for a short 5 minutes. Then we could get in a line to high five them as they passed out dragon trainer certificates. We didn't get to talk to them one on one or really get to say hi at all other than getting to shuffle past for the high fives. The post show tech talk was the worst part. We expected as VIPs for a tech talk, that we would be shown equipment and get a closer look at the technical aspects but this was not the case at all. We were seated in a group in the same seats where we saw the show, were not allowed to see anything up close, and were given statistics that we could have found in the show program or online for maybe 10 minutes tops. I made the effort to ask a question that would have been more difficult to find online or elsewhere but would have been fairly easy to answer for a knowledgeable person and the man giving the tech talk had no clue what the answer was - it seemed like he had just memorized statistics that had been provided for him. The show itself was incredible. The overall design and ingenuity of the use of space and props were stunning. We were so impressed with the design and the presence of the dragons and wish our VIP experience had allowed us to have a closer look to better appreciate all the detail we could see from our seats. We would definitely see this show again in a heartbeat. Overall, the show was amazing - definitely had us shocked and in awe... and our seats were fantastic! We loved the VIP parking and the photo experience... but would not recommend the VIP package because the meet and greet and the post show experience failed to meet our expectations for the price of the ticket.

"Spectacular" indeed! Days after seeing this show, our family is still saying, "wow." How to Train Your Dragon Live was quite possibly the coolest live show we have ever seen! A unique mix of dramatic spectacle, an epic storyline, with a taste of video game thrown in for good measure, this was by far the most unique show I have ever or probably will ever see. The puppeteering and unique special effects really added to the experience. The dragons were breathtaking in every way, the moving background was DreamWorks-stunning, music was delightful, the energy and athleticism of the cast was outstanding, and the entire show was just plain enjoyable start to finish. Of course the 'loot' was overpriced as it is at any of these types of shows, but the toys are actually of decent quality and have been durable in the hands of my two little ones, ages 3 & 6.

All in all, great production. They did have to stop the play twice due to technical problems. I've never experienced that before, but you would think they could have worked that out. I saw a sneak-peak on YouTube and picked our seats based on what I saw - turns out the cheapest (still a good chunk of change) seats were the best vantage point for this production...and WOW, what a production. My kids and I all were floored by the fantastic artistry DreamWorks presented. Other than a little technical hic-up (no pun intended) it was flawless. This is a money-well-spent kind of event.

Took the grandkids (boy 9, girl 6) to the 11 a.m. performance. Had excellent seats, six rows from the action, close enough that we could feel the heat from the special effects pyrotechnics. The dragons were pretty spectacular but the scenes where Hiccup "climbed" mountain paths and crossed bridges projected on the large background screen were pretty low tech and grainy. (I suppose they had to make do with the space limitations they had.) There was one glitch not too long after the 20 minute intermission where the aerial track that the actors hung from when "flying" and "swimming" broke down and the show had to be stopped and the cherry picker brought out so the crew could get it working again (about 20 minutes). All in all, the kids and I enjoyed ourselves and I'm glad we went. It was very interesting watching the dragons maneuver around the set - the drivers must be quite talented!

The dragon's were so realistic---storyline great! My 4 1/2 yr old son loved it. He probably would have been scared if he was much younger though.

This show was nonstop amazing! The dragons were breathtaking. We had great seats so we were close enough to feel the heat from the fires. Defiantly recommend this to anyone of any age!

The animatronics were incredible...the movements did not appear mechanical. The special effects and lighting brought so much realism. The feeling that the characters were traveling far distances with just lighting and a screen was amazing. So glad I was able to attend such a beautiful and imaginative event!

The visual effects of bringing Dragons to life combined with a simple intriguing story was as entertaining to adults as the younger little peoples. Sound effects were well done, even though some dialogue was difficult to hear or understand. I was hoping for free cotton candy and popcorn to bring back back the excitement from the disappointing 1 hour tech difficulty delay!

Excellent performance!!! Would recommend to everyone to watch. As my Grandson said to his Mother "Mommy it was great, they had real dragons not like the movie. But they do play the movie on the floor & ceiling."

The primary attraction is the dragons. They are impressive and very lifelike in their movement and mannerisms. The acting in between the dragons is fair and more like filler until they can bring out the next dragon. The show came to a screeching halt about 3/4ths the way through 1st half of show when the "Flying Toothless" dragon broke down. They stopped the show for at least 45 minutes while they tried to repair the lifeless dragon. They finally determined he wasn't fixable for the show, so they resumed the show and skipped the "flying" scenes or improvised the scene using the "grounded Toothless" and the actors walking around on the ground instead of riding the dragon. The crowd was very patient throughout the delay, as they did have children with them. But when the show came restarted, they performed one scene (about 5 minutes) and then took the scheduled 15 minute intermission, which created a collective groan throughout the crowd. Overall, I think young kids still enjoyed the dragons, but this show was on a school night and ran quite late due to the technical difficulties. My wife said she saw a line at the box office during the intermission, presumably people asking for refunds or to exchange tickets for another show. Based on the price of the tickets and it being a school night, I can understand their frustration.

The show was unforgettable from start to finish. So glad I brought my grandchildren and can share this memory with them, I think if the show comes back, even if you do not have children go see it, borrow a niece or nephew, make it happen. You won't regret it.

We brought grandchildren , 6 and 8. The dragons were amazing! Story followed the movie pretty closely. Think it would be too intense for younger kids, in fact a little girl in our aisle wanted to leave. Also would suggest buying tickets in the end section to face the green board for better viewing of the video effects. Still, very enjoyable! Most important, the kids loved it!

Purchased two "Dragon Trainer V.I.P. package" tickets, one for my son, one for myself. The V.I.P. experience was mediocre at best. The gifts weren't great, the pic included was overexposed, and then it was just, wait here in this corner until you can walk the arena for the hour before the show actually starts. The seats were pretty good ( not as good as I had expected, however), and the show was ok. Overall, the whole experience wasn't as good as I had hoped, & not worth the nearly $400 I paid for two tickets, but my son thought it was pretty cool, and that's all that really matters. Would I see it again? No. Not worth the drive, the time, or the money. But if you live close by the show locale, purchase regular seats, & have children who loved the movie, I would say definitely check it out.

That's the summation of the event, straight from my five year old son's mouth. "Real, live fire-breathing dragons." Being closer to the stage really made the difference--because at my son's age(s) (5 and 3, respectively) they were less interested in the linear story...and all about the dragons! And make no mistake, the dragons steal the show--though the performances by the players overall is a blast and well conceived. The tickets were too expensive by far...remember that if you can get anywhere in the first level of seats, you will have a pretty compelling experience with these amazing technological creatures come to life.

The show was amazing. Special effects were breathtaking. Great for all ages. However, Technical issues x2, plus a 20 min intermission put quite the damper on things. For the price we paid for tickets, we felt we should receive some compensation for the lengthy interruptions. A little disappointed in the Live "spectacular" for that reason.

My husband and I took our 5 1/2-year old and 2 1/2-year old boys to this event. We drove to Chicago from near St Louis. We arrive approximately 1 hour early for the event. Upon getting to our seats, we were approached by an usher to move from the 300 section down to the 100 section for free!!! The reasoning of filling in the lower levels. The show was amazing! Our boys loved every minute of it! The dragons were amazing! The actors made it all seem so real for our boys! We are hoping that maybe the show will make a St Louis stop and we can possibly see this awesome show for a second time.

Amazing for children and adults! If you are a fan of the movie or just think it would be cool to see "Dragons" up close . . . . this is for you! My daughters, ages 7 and almost 4, LOVED it! Such attention to detail on the dragons and the way the show used the screened wall to tell the story . . . unforgettable!

My daughter is fan #1 of all the dragons, she is 6 and really enjoyed the show. She Knows every part of the movie, any name, any character, any dragon, everything. She was so excited to see the show. For my part, I really enjoyed the show and loved the dragons, so real.
