Joe Walsh

Best known for his powerful guitar licks, Joe Walsh has entertained the masses and captivated his peers for more than three decades with such classics as “Funk #49,” “Walk Away,” “Life’s Been Good,” and “Ordinary Average Guy.” In 1969 Walsh found success with The James Gang, followed by a stint with Barnstorm, a trio he founded.  In 1973 Joe released his first solo album, which proved him a legitimate solo act with a limitless career on the horizon. By 1975 he joined The Eagles, bringing a harder rock sound to the group with the acclaimed Hotel California, The Long Run and Eagles Live.

This show was incredible!. Joe Walsh played a mini Eagles concert. Zack Brown Band great as always. All the ladies loved Keith Urban. Gary Clark Junior was a nice surprise. 5 hour show was totally worth every penny. Can't wait for the next Vet Aid show. God bless our soldiers and vets. They deserve all that we can give them!

Outstanding show. Joe played a wide variety of classic favorites including "Rocky Mountain Way", "Walk Away", "Turn to Stone" and "Funk 49". Joe is also a funny guy and made several humorous remarks between songs. Kenny Wayne Shepherd also gave an amazing performance. The right hander flawlessly played jimi Hendrix' "Voodoo Child" on a left handed guitar strung upside down the same way lefty Jimi used to play his right handed guitar. What a tribute! An unexpected and pleasant surprise was Ray Wiley Hubbard opening the show. His amusing songs and funny stories were wildly entertaining. This is a must see show.

Of course I was already predisposed to like both as being among my favorite guitarist/songwriters. But still, it was a thrill to catch both on the same bill. Main regret was that neither got to play for as long as I wanted them to, and KWS didn't get around to couple of my favorite songs from his first CD.

The show was good with three bands and plenty of music. I went to see Joe Walsh and Kenny Wayne Shepard was just the opening act, but i was converted to a fan. I'll be looking for them locally in the future. Thanks for a good show!

Joe was awesome. That man can make a guitar do anything he wants. He played all the old favorites and even some new ones. His new album comes out in February and I can't wait to get it. He is funny and entertaining. His back up singers took stage for a song that highlighted their talents. He made a great choice in picking them.

We didn't know quite what to expect from this inaugural event in a small venue close to home. All four of the performers - Gary Clark Jr, Keith Urban, Zac Brown Band, and Joe Walsh (in that order) - played and sang their hearts out as if it was their own concert playing to 25,000 instead of 5,000 seats. Great diverse music and a great cause - much emphasis was put on the military veterans who would benefit from this concert. It was very moving to see the videos between sets, the introduction of Tammy Duckworth (the Illinois Senator and Army veteran who lost both legs co-piloting a Blackhawk in 2004), and bringing various active and veteran military on stage. Our only complaint is that the concert started early (before 7 pm) and ran very late due to the three 30 minute intermissions to set up each of the last 3 acts. We had to leave at 11:20 before the last act, Joe Walsh, was finished. We were also VERY impressed at how long Keith Urban stayed after his set to mingle, have his photo taken, and sign autographs. It would get 5 stars if they had figured out how to tighten up the 1 1/2 hours total intermission time.

Joe Walsh and his band played a variety of his hits from the 60s thru to his latest release. He also played a few Eagles hits. His backup band was really good. Nice lighting effects also. My only disappointment was he didn't play longer. All in all a very good show.

I love to attend concerts, and as a huge eagles and Joe Walsh fan there was no way I was going to miss this concert. As far as the show, I put it up there as the best I've seen. The guitars were crisp and so was the overall sound. Nothing in the show itself was lacking in my opinion. I can't say the same for the meet and greet. You don't find out until a week before the event that Joe will not sign ANYTHING, and the meet and greet lasted all of 45 seconds. By the time I received the email I had spent quite a bit of money on a record and photo of Joe I wanted to have autographed and framed. I could see time being an issue if he had 200 fans waiting for the meet and greet but in our case, it wasn't even 40 people. It was very cool to meet a guitarist I've loved to listen to my whole life, but $375 is a little steep for 45 seconds. Again, the show was outstanding, but I was terribly disappointed with how the meet and greet went.

I've been a fan of Joe Walsh since he began but have never had an opportunity to see him live. Well better late than never. Joe is one helluva guitarist and entertainer. His set was full of all hits and no filler. Outstanding back up band with the likes of Joe Vitale and Waddy Wachtel made the music soar. Joe looks like he has a blast playing and it shows in his music. A must see.

Watching Joe play the guitar and seeing how much he loved it was exciting My girlfriend went thinking she liked his music, when she left she asked when he plays again we are definitely going to see him again. Of course my response was "yes dear" with a smile on my face.

Joe and the band rocked! There is always a real party atmosphere whenever Joe and the band play. This show was no exception. I saw him last year as well. I didn't think it could get any better...I was wrong, this year was even more awesome! Joe's vocals were great and of course his guitar playing was impeccable. The crowd was fully into it as they sang along to every song. The atmosphere was electric and Joe always has something funny to say to get everyone laughing between songs. I also did the VIP meet and greet and we were blown away by meeting Joe. It was an experience to last a lifetime. We plan on doing the same thing again next year! Thanks Joe! You keep playing, we'll keep coming. That should be the title of your next album! :)

Generally what I expected. Very good musicianship and recognized songs. Dissappointed for the band that the lawn did not sell and only about 5000 attended. Also, I am not impressed with the mix and sound at First Niagra, Mix was a little midrangey and muddy in places.not very concert like. Should be a lot louder....even for old people classic rock music.. We can take it, c'mon , turn it up Also, none of the side video screens were used, unless you were sitting straight on you missed a lot of the cool backdrop videos and onstage closeup views.

Bad Company started out a bit flat, but built up to their hit songs and had the crowd really into it by the end of their set. Joe Walsh was why we came and he didn't disappoint, very strong set, a bit loud by the end of the evening, the sound people seemed to raise the volume considerably over the last three songs. Our biggest disappointment was that we paid good money for good seats, only to have lawn people bumped up to seats in front of us. They stood much of the time and we had difficulty seeing.

Bad Co revved the crowd up with all of its hits, and everyone in the front section danced and sang along the entire time. They were rocking so hard there was no reason to sit. Paul Rodgers still sounds fantastic and maintains his crown as the best rock & roll voice of all time. The Joe Walsh came out and took it up even higher. He played the best of James Gang and the best of the Eagles. In my opinion, Walsh was always the highlight of any Eagles concert, so his whole show was thrilling for me. He made a beautiful tribute to Glenn Frey and played the best live version of Life in the Fast Lane I have ever heard.

I have always wanted to see Joe Walsh and havent seen Bad Company since the late 70's. They both were excellent. The show was at Champions Square in New Orleans which is a great space but can be the hottest place on earth summer months. This night the weather was very nice with a nice breeze which really helped. Aside from the $12 beers, the venue was perfect for the show. Paul Rogers and Bad Company put on a really powerful show - running through non-stop hits. They sounded great and seemed to be enjoying their time playing. I know many of the members arent originals - but they sounded fantastic and didnt miss a beat! Joe Walsh came out and said ""Good Morning" to the evening crowd and then started his set. His band was amazing with 4 back up vocalist. Joe also went through all his hits and sounded great. Havent heard some of the sound like Turn to Stone in decades and loved it! He ripped up the James Gang and gave a great tribute to Glenn Frey. Awesome double bill by two fantastic bands!

Bad Company opened tonight. A little disappointing the guitarist Mick Ralphs did not make the tour yet all the promotional materials stills shows him on guitar. Paul Rodgers sounded great as usual and Simon Kirke is steady on drums but musically they did not sound as good as 2013 with Mick on guitar. Bad Company stilled played all the hits and Paul Rodgers is a great front man and singer. Next came Joe Walsh who had a tough act to follow vocally (not many rock singers can top Paul Rodgers). Walsh's set started off a little rough, the crowd was not into hearing deeper cuts after Bad Co plowed through the hits, but the second half picked up steam as he played more FM friendly classics. The sound at the Sleep Train was not very good considering out seats were dead center just below the sound board, it actually sounded better in the food court for Rocky Mountain Way as we were leaving to beat the traffic out.

Joe was in fine form, sang & played well, including songs from his entire catalogue (from James Gang to Barnstorm to later solo tunes). Good to see Joe Vitale on drums although I didn't recognize anyone else in the band (and neither did Joe; he had to read their names from a sheet of paper... hah!). Seating was VERY tight, on metal folding chairs attached to each other, but at least they were cushioned. Flat floor seating but at least the stage is raised (though visual sight lines are still poor).

This was my first time to see Joe Walsh or to visit the Taft Theater. I now recommend both HIGHLY! With the exception of "downtown parking" issues the theater is great...Walsh...was even better. No opening act, the concert started promptly on time and Joe remained glued to the stage for two hours doing only what Joe can do. Joe is an American icon and survivor. His years with the James Gang, solo material, and the Eagles are all represented in the set list. As with every concert I left wishing he had chosen to play this song or that song...but the truth be told it didn't really matter...his virtuosity and character remained at the forefront..and he NAILED every song, and lick. I assumed Rocky Mountain Way would be the encore song...so when he appeared earlier in the set I wondered what the encore would be--others would serve just as well...but I NEVER expected... "Life in the Fast Lane"...and they ROCKED IT! If you have seen Joe before, or seen the Eagles, or love their music..this solo tour is a MUST SEE!!

New venue for me, relatively small so every seat was good. Great energy in the crowd. Two drum kits in performance rocked the evening. Joe performed with his 6-piece band and three backup singers for a solid hour and a half. Having seen him on an episode of Live at Daryl's House with Daryl Hall, his personality came through on stage as he talked with the audience. Super background graphics accompanied each song. Because the show was about 100 miles from my home in the middle of the week I went by myself and am so glad I did!

I've always liked Joe Walsh, now I respect the hell out of the MAN! He gave insight to the type of person he is in introducing his tribute to the death of his friend Levon Helm and blew the crowd away. Wonderful blues riffs and new songs from the album Analog Man. A few of the Eagles tunes such as In The City allowed for his singers to show their talents. Then he rocked with his traditional classics. And I mean ROCKED! Two drums and a percussionist, keyboards, bass, guitar, 3 singers and Joe. He added his politically incorrect "I Like Tits" which offered a glimpse into his goofy humor but also play a tune with the backdrop of the faces of all the service people that have lost their lives in the war in Afganistain and slamming home the point that for every one service person killed there are 4 wounded. He never said this, it was just part of the visual backdrop. Some quick stories of his life and a wonderful evening of old school rock and roll. Thanks for a great night from a newly won over Joe Walsh Fan!!!!

It was as hot as hell that night at the South Shore Music Circus, no fans or ventilation of any sort, but no worries as Joe and his excellent band let the sweat pour down as they played a perfect mix of his classics along with a few new songs. I'm a music lover and JW has been one musician I have always wanted to see in a small venue and he was even better than I thought he could be. In the Spring I had heard a local DJ incorrectly rumor that his show would be mellow - what a load of bullshit! He totally rocked and played mostly his old classics. Joe has written some of the absolute finest guitar lines filled with his soul and written the lyrics to match. Don't think of missing him if you have the chance to see him. The poor dude was sweating his ass off along with the crowd, but he put it all out there and took down the house anyway. He couldn't play past 10:30, as the local town by-law states, so he played without a break from 9 to 10:30. Just about everyone in the audience knew that there couldn't be an encore and I hope he could hear the sincere 10 minute plus deafening standing ovation and "Joe" chants from his bus after he exited the stage and venue. That may have been my favorite show of all time - thanks Joe!!

Joe Walsh has had a long, amazing career in rock and roll starting back in the '60's. His stints with the James Gang, his solo efforts, and his membership in the Eagles have made him one of rock and roll's elite. Add to that, he's even a brother in law to a Beatle! All of that seems to have little value to him on stage, especially on small stages like the Stiefel Theatre in Salina, KS. He is open, warm, friendly, and not stuck up like some of his Eagle bandmates seem to be. His current "Analog Man" tour includes many small town shows, and you feel you are right there jamming with him. His new album is excellent, and he combines new tunes with his large catalog of classics. Great band behind him, great mixing, great talent.

Joe put on a fun show, though it ran brief. Rumor was the opening act bailed, so they had to start sooner, but no official announcement while people waited and hoped it didn't start raining early in the evening. No meet & greet for the fan club members (or anybody else). Solid story-telling and jokes by Joe made the night enjoyable. Good selection of adult beverages, but the whole wristband and limited number of drinks for the event was hokey. Basically, you needed to buy your entire drinks for the night at the beginning or you were out of luck if you wanted a fresh drink at the intermission. Event staff was lax on cameras and pot - seemed like a number of folks in the first 15 rows were using one or both.

Great sound and a fun evening. The show was too short - we could have listened to him all night! :-) his new stuff is just as good as the classics This was our first time at Stage AE. good venue if you have seats but lawn was pretty much standing room only because there isn't enough elevation to see over everything. Joe had an excellent back up band and they looked like they were enjoying playing the music as we did hearing it. the show was made even better by his previewing of two songs from the upcoming Analog man CD, Analog Man, and Wrecking Ball showed us Joe still has alot of Rock and Roll left in him at this point in his career. Joe was allowed to flow in what ever direction he wanted as he noted he had some time off from his day job. I highly recommend getting out to see one of Joes shows or watching him play when he with the Eagles as he is one of the top players in the game today. thanks for an unforgettable evening Joe would come see you anytime I could. It has been a while since I have seen Joe in concert. Either he didn't play where I was or he was touring with the Eagles. Joe is one of my favorite musicians, right behind Neil Young. His shows are always entertaining and he seems to be enjoying himself. This show was no different. The band was bigger than I expected: three backup singers, two drummers, percussionist, keyboard, bass, guitar, and Joe. His setlist (see below) covered his whole career from the James Gang to his newest song "Wrecking Ball". He also did a cover of Bob Dylan's "I Shall be Released" to highlight one of the backup singers. I like so many of his songs that it would have been impossible for him to play them all. He did play some of them: "Life of Illusion" (from one of my favorite albums), Turn to Stone, and In the City. It was a great show and if you have a chance to see him, I would recommend it. Kenny Wayne Shepherd is a great guitarist and a Stevie Ray Vaughan wanna-be. He even has Stevie's drummer, Chris Layton. He started of slow but picked it up and showed off his SRV inspired licks. His cover of Voodoo Chile brought down the house.

Joe Walsh was in rare form, very entertaining and the music was outstanding, as expected. The let down was that it was only 1:15 long, shorter than a standard film, and the cost was 8X the movie at the local theater! Come on Joe, give us more!

Great show. This supports our military, and they do a great job of putting this on. this is the third year of Vets Rock. I have attended the last two years, and plan on attending in future years. Thanks to Mohegan sun for putting this on. Tony Orlando is the MC and he does a great job, introducing and honoring vets. Eddie money was great, played the hits. Joe Walsh is awesome as always, he played one hit after another. great show highly recommend it, plus in this case you support our troops and vets that gave us so much, and allow us to have the life we do.

Great show! Tony Orlando was a fabulous MC. Both Eddie Money and Joe Walsh had people on their feet. I loved the patriotic feel to the whole evening and the tributes to our vets! Thank you Joe Walsh for putting this together and to all the musicians who donate their time and talent to benefit this often overlooked group of men and women responsible for our freedom.

Joe Walsh rocked the VetsRock concert the entire time. He injected humor into his infectious rock songs, hitting many, many favorites dating back to his days with the James Gang. He even had Joe Vitale on the drums and keyboards from his days in college and in the Barnstorm band. He was phenomenal. He just about made all (eight?) of his guitars smoke and his voice ranged far and wide. A night to remember and to make you yearn for more. He was opened up with Tony Orlando as emcee who also sang a couple of patriotic tunes and Eddie Money played with three of his kids. His vocal range is gone, but his daughter has lots of talent as a singer and his sons on the drums and guitar really rocked also.

Vets rocks tour was amazing. The way they honoured our service men n women were second to none. As a vet of 14 yrs n four tour to war zones I really appreciated how they raised $100,000 to date and how they honoured our vets. Joe Walsh played all his best hits, which basically was all of his songs and a mini eagles concert. Eddie money opened up for him. What an amazing show. Highly recommended

We were very excited to see Joe Walsh, but having to sit thru Tony Orlando and a very disappointing Eddie Money was almost to much to take. The song Eddie Money's son did was excellent, otherwise horriable

The songs written by joe Walsh are amazing but joes voice is over the hill. The one song sung by a younger voice was excellent. They should sing more.

Four Big Name Acts supporting great charities = wonderful idea. Great music by some of my favorite musicians. Expect a late evening if you are attending one of these shows. Concert was advertised to start at 6:30 pm, did not start until a little after 7. Was unable to stay for the entire concert, and it was after 11 pm when I left, therefore missing the remainder of Joe Walsh's set and finale with all the artists. This was the first concert of this tour, so I hope that future concerts start on time and that set up time between acts can be minimized. Ticket price was on the pricey side, but worth it to see these wonderful acts, and support veterans charities. As usual, Keith Urban and Zac Brown Band rocked the house -- have never seen a bad performance by these artists. New to Gary Clark, Jr.'s music and enjoyed him. Joe Walsh, a legend, was great to see. If you have a chance to attend this concert -- DO IT!!

The venue was perfect! Joe Walsh delivered his guitar playing brand of rock and roll music. He belted out songs like Funk 49, Ordinary Average Guy, A Life Of Illusion, and then Eagle classics: Take It To The Limit, Life in the Fast Lane, In the City, and ended with his signature Life's Been Good and Rocky Mountain Way. He kept it intimate with some light conversation and jokes. Letting the audience feel that "we made a difference tonight." The selection of videos he shared with his songs provided all the stunning visuals that were needed. This wasn't the laser light, fog machine, confettti dropping from the ceiling type show, but if you grew up admiring Joe Walsh's magnificent guitar playing and songwriting abilities, seeing him perform live was all that was necessary for a great evening.

What a night! Joe Walsh has been one of my favorite guitarists and singer/songwriters for as long as I can remember. I've seen him with the Eagles a number of times, but to see him solo was awesome! He and his band put on a hell of show that I wish would have gone on longer than just 2 hours. Joe has a way of making what I would call "landscapes" or "scenes" with his music. In the middle of a rocking tune, you suddenly find yourself in the middle of a softer but heavily layered segment. That's one of the things I love most about Joe and he pulled this off for each and every song he played.

I have been listening to Joe since the "James Gang". Barnstorm, The Smoker you drink... all the way to The Confessor to Analog Man have all given me countless hours of joy, calm and pure entertainment. Depth, humor, satire, love, loss, the fusion of country, rock and a little reggae, it's all there. All night laundromat blues, ILBT, Michael Stanley's Rosewood Bitters, Space Age Wiz Kids, The Confessor! The versatility of this genius is amazing. The show I saw in San Antonio, Texas was, although too short, a great evening of rock entertainment, a greatest hits thing, but then again lots of shows are. A small show of laser lights, a video screen with good vids and an excellent back up band including, Joe Vitali. The performance was pure Joe Walsh, guitar virtuoso and singer. this night was as if I was sitting in my living room listening to Joe Walsh on my stereo. Yeah, I'm biased, I'm a fan. Joe has touched my heart and soul more times than I can ever tell you and lifted my spirits when I was really down, so I gotta say, it was a cool night for me.
