From the start of the evening, the mood was light, entertaining, and enjoyable. Seal and David Foster have a wonderful rapport with each other - they are clearly friends, but their mutual respect for one another was very evident throughout the evening. The talk session was so informative, I have enjoyed David's music since the 80's, and Seal's since the 90's, and I learned so much about them individually as people and as artists. The Clive Davis Theater at the Grammy Museum is a wonderfully intimate setting. If you have an artist that you love, and they come to do anything at this venue, it is so worth it!

Seal was very gracious and transparent as he discussed his album that dropped today. He sang several songs off it as well as some past hits and a few improvisations. His voice and passion are as strong today as they were 20 years ago. He displayed no ego and was great in interacting with the audience. I expect him to be around for a long time both writing music and singing. Ironically enough, he considers himself to be more of a song writer than a singer, but he is exceptional at both. Afterwards, I introduced him to my wife (who is strong and beautiful like his) and told him we share the same key to marriage - happy wife, happy life! (He shared some other things I can't repeat, but we had a good laugh.) He is a good guy.

Blown away by his high-energy delivery of his early songs. Opened the set (90 minutes - no breaks) with a few mellow numbers from his name album "Standards". He was really in touch with the crowd: banter and coming off the stage several times.

Seal is an incredible talent and an awesome showman. At this venue we did sit on the grounds just behind the light tower. The crowd was affable enough though I do not think, as a group, they share Seal's world view of things but that is not the point. One reason I went to the Seal concert was to recapture the same vibe from a previous Seal show. Instead, We got a three piece band. No drummer, no percussion, no bass, no back-up singers...no world class sound like before. Seal, a lead guitar and a talented person with about 30 keyboards was it. The sound in my location was at best, marginal. Usually poor sound quality is offset by volume. Neither happened. I felt, what is next? Lip sync! Going forward check to see if you get an actual band versus something very downsized. I have heard much, much better sound at this same location.

I had very high expectations. I love his music - especially "Stay with Me". We sat in the second row so had great seats and kept waiting for that song...which he never sang. His performance seemed very short. He is high energy and moved around a lot - got some good audience participation. I have to say I enjoyed Kenny Rogers much more at Wente this year.

This was an awesome show by Seal.... I must say that the show started on time, there wasn't an opening act and Seal and the band walked out on stage at 7:30 pm. The music and Seal audience participation was amazing. He sounds amazing live and I would never miss another Seal concert.

The concert was good and Seal has a great voice but with one band member on guitar and a DJ for the remainder of the music the concert lacked musicians. The Hard Rock Casino ran out of Chardonnay before the first song [how can a casino not have wine?] and the liquor pours were terrible.

I had never seen Seal before but a big fan of his music. Seal was excellent as a performer and muscian. It was a simple set up with just a guitarist, keyboard player and Seal playing acoustical guitar for some songs but it was enough. His voice was strong and melodical as ever. Seal is very personable and connected with audience as he ventured into the crowd. He starts right on time so dont be late!!!!

After last year's Lenny Kravitz disappointment, I was hesitant to spend time and money on another concert. Thank you Seal, for proving I made the right decision. I loved every minute, and the covers you chose for Prince, Bowie and Tears for Fears were performed with respect and care. On time - imbedded in the audience - funky, funny and full of grace. This was a show that I bragged about seeing. Please come back for more beautiful nights at Meadowbrook.

I came form San Diego, California to see the concert with a family member. The venue and the weather were perfect, and Seal acknowledged that. He was intentional about letting the audience know he was engaged in the surroundings. He was funny, interactive and incredibly talented with his voice range. His choice of song performances was point on. He gave everyone who attended something they wanted to hear.

I have always loved Seal's voice and was definitely not disappointed in that regard. Two things that did not meet my expectations were that his band consisted of a guitar player and a keyboard/tracks laptop guy and that he had to do many covers in order to have enough material for the night. There were many of his own songs that I would rather have heard. Loved that he came out into the crowd and sang right in front of me! That still wasn't enough to make this a great show for me though. I still love Seal, but was not blown away by the show.

Weird concert for sure. He would go from amazing character and charm to downright depression and awkwardness. Too many songs about depression and loss for my taste. Felt like the sympathy card was being played. Last song was amazing though, the words to crazy just must bring the energy all by themselves.

Wonderful voice and absolutely charming person. The choice of songs was not great - too few "hits." Many songs were just him with two keyboards. Until now I'd never realized how much a band adds - those songs were really flat. Beginning half of the show was a bit tepid, but it picked up. Ok show, but not for the price charged.

I've seen Seal at least half a dozen times. He always puts on a great show, but in this last show at the Rocksino, he seemed to have more energy than ever before! He came out dancing and rocked that place. Did a nice mix of old and new (the new album 7 is very good!), and a few cover songs, including a sweet tribute to David Bowie. Came out into the audience during "Mad World". Was in our row, but on the other side - dammit! His voice sounds as strong as ever, he's in great shape and sang for around 2 hours. I wish the tour would be continued so I could catch another show. He's down to the last 2 shows. Guess he needs to take a break and get back to his kids! If you're ever hesitating to go see this man live, do it!!! The Rocksino ushers were too pushy for my tastes. I mean, if everyone is standing up during a certain song and gathering near the stage, let us enjoy the moment.

Seal is one of the best performers I've ever seen live. He sings from the depth of his soul with so much power and conviction. He's a great instrumentalist as well! His energy was non-ending. He sang, danced and engaged with the audience for the entire two-hour performance. Seal's voice has a special quality; within his voice is the ability to soothe and heal. This was my first time going to a Seal concert, but it will definitely not be my last!

Over 40 years of attending concerts and this may be one of the best ever! The music was as phenomenal as ever, but Seal and his personality made the show. He obviously loves what he does, totally enjoys the professional collaboration and good relations with his band. He was charismatic, full of energy, engaging and pulled every concert goer in. Every man, every woman...,,young and old were pulled into the experience with him and I think all enjoyed it immensely. I will totally go again.

It was my 15-year-old son with Down syndrome who was Seal's #1 fan, so my sisters and I scraped up the VIP ticket money and met at a venue between Detroit and Philadelphia. We figured it beat taking Jeremiah to Europe! I was not a fan before, but I was blown away by Seal's professionalism, poise, humility, deference to the audience and his band. Just a superb performer. Then he scored MANY points when he hugged my son, and said "I love that you sing my songs, man," in his beautiful English accent. What a STAR! I am converted.

Seal brought his best. Sounded good and played a wide array of tunes from many albums. The venue itself was not ideal as it had no formal parking lots or decks. You needed to park on the streets. Macey Gray seemed either drunk or high and didn't warm me up at all.

This was my first Seal concert and it was worth every penny that I paid, which was a lot! I was in the fifth row, center stage, and Seal stood right in front of me most of the time. That in itself was very exciting. He made a grand entrance, standing toward the back of the stage in front of a light. His silhouette showing as he started singing. He sang many of his favorite songs. I loved hearing his story of how Kiss From A Rose got on his album. He wrote the song years ago when he was struggling. He didn't think it was any good. Trevor Horn wanted to put the song on Seal's second album, but Seal said no, that it wasn't any good. A woman was there listening to the songs and Seal went to the bathroom. When he returned, she said that she really liked that "ROSE song". He told her it wasn't going on the album. She said that it was and that was that! Seal had so much energy, bouncing around on stage, connecting with his audience. He got us up on our feet, dancing and singing along with him. At one point, he came down into the audience and jumped up on someone's seat, yelling and singing up to the balcony.

This is the first time that I have seen Seal in person and I must say that he is an amazing performer. He had to be one of the strongest and sexiest male performers to ever perform on stage. He had the audience singing and dancing throughout his two hour performance. Seal relates to his fans better than any performer I have seen. I have never seen an entertainer touch, hug and kiss more fans while they were performing. And, this was done with no visible security. As fans were leaving they were still rocking and dancing including me. Seal had me wanting more and to go to his next tour stop.

Any Seal show is a good show and this one was no exception. He started a little early due to Macy Gray cancelling and played for over two hours. We all danced and sang along and just enjoyed the hell out of the show. He even pulled a little girl up and we all sang her Happy Birthday. After the show, the VIP ticket holders lined up and got to meet Seal backstage. It was a brief encounter but well worth the $$. I wish I could relive this night every night!

Seal played in The Beacon Theater which was a gorgeous venue. We didn't know what to expect. He began with the Standards, which were good, but then he began to breakout the songs we were really all there to hear! His energy and engagement was terrific! One of my all time favorite concerts! We were lucky to be in an audience which included his children (he announced) and where we sat we could see him exit the stage at the end and embrace his beloved children! Touched my heart! My first live Seal show ever and it was a LoveFest. It was on my "bucket list". Seal's vocals were top-notch, but the sound system was not top-notch. Seal's commentary on "Prayer for the Dying" was memorable and resonated deeply. Well, I will say I was quite disappointed in his song catalog choices. I know Capitol Records wanted to promote his new album, but the "standards' are not Seal's forte vocally. This genre requires a seasoned jazz performer and preferably female. What was missing that night was Seal's OWN MUSIC! It seems he almost rejects his own genius. I once went to an Elton John concert and the thing I loved was he sang his entire top-chart catalog. It made it so everyone felt satisfied. To just give us Kiss of a Rose, Crazy and Prayer for the Dying was not what I shelled out my savings (as a senior) to hear 3 songs. Padded Cell, Wait of My Mistakes, Waiting, etc. ... so many unsung :-( that night.

Every second was amazing! Apparently there were technical difficulties but except for the one time he left the stage, who noticed? Seal handled himself with grace and professionalism. He played for 2 hours and every moment was better than the next. Enjoyed every minute.

Fantastic show. Seal rocks. Acoustic versions of some of his oldest hits were amazing. Great energy and voice. Musicians (only 2 in addition to Seal who played guitar on some of the songs) were phenomenal.

Being a lifelong musician, I was skeptical when I saw the layout of the stage for Seal: A guitar and a keyboard/computer riser. The sound was incredible and even though most of Seal's tracks were backing tracks, the trio put on a helluva show. Seal covered Prince twice and for the finale... Seal spoke and said that even thought the show had a few technical difficulties, he came out with an acoustic guitar and absolute crushed the audience by closing with a breathtaking unplugged version of 'Future Love Paradise'!! I hope Seal comes back through again in the very near future!

The Show good but not Great as it could have been....Seal has a great voice but was diminished by poor PA sound.....They played all the hits except Fly Like an Eagle because the keyboard players sound files /computer died....they had to finish the Acoustic which was fine....could hear his great voice better without the rhythm computer Tracks in the way.... He should have done Fly Like An Eagle Acoustic.....would have been Great! Adding a precusion player would add entertaining background....and go better with the Acoustic sets....keyboard player sat and watched the band doing nothing for 30minutes during technical issues and acoustic show finish....His voice is Great Live.....

We had great seats in the front section, and half the time we were standing up dancing with the rest of the audience. I really enjoyed seeing him perform live many of his best, most danceable songs and the audience was enthusiastic. My biggest complaint was that he had no band; he had a nondescript guitarist who was mediocre and a middle aged keyboard guy who was fine, but didn't seem particularly into it. Seal is clearly a much better guitarist than his back up guy, who did some singing as well. I liked when he talked to the audience early on. I had a good time, but not as great a time as I did when I saw Barenaked Ladies at the Hard Rock. Much more enjoyable and fun. I'm looking forward to seeing Juan Luis Guerra next month, and will look forward to comparing and contrasting. I kind of felt like he was more interested in making money than in giving a great performance.

No band playing, only a "DJ" and a guitar player/chorus singer. Despite Seal's great voice, this was nothing near a concert, felt more like watching Seal sing in a tv show, track on background and he singing. No show, nothing to be amazed of, no lights show, it was on the poor side. It's like he's saving money on band, chorus, and basically to put up a show.

This by far was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. Seal was engaged with the audience. Not many artists actually take the time to "talk" to the audience. His sound was superb. It was crystal clear, no distortion, not too loud but not too soft. The music was at the right level and not above the voice. I would go see him again if he had more concert dates. It was a night I will never forget.

We have been followers forever and were really looking forward to seeing a great concert, not a karaoke style event. There was no band, just 2 guys behind him one on guitar and another guy controlling the digital drums and background music. All you heard was a very loud thumping sound and Seal's voice through most of the concert. Most of the time you could not hear the background music. When you pay the concert high prices, you want to see a full band. That is part of the experience. He did not play much of his older hits which we were looking forward to. About 2/3rds through the the concert, the guy's equipment that was controlling the background music failed and Seal had to play the rest of the concert with just a guitar. Not the memorable experience we were looking for!

I can honestly say that Seal is the only performer that I've seen whose voice is actually better in person than on his recorded music. The depth and clarity of his voice was spine tingling. Awesome show... No frills...Fantastic music!

A fantastic night of wonderful music such a great performer. Tried to talk my other half into going to see him again the next night in Clearwater. Can't wait to see him again. My only complaint is the women in front of us on their Facebook page over half the night!

The hard rock was unorganized with new security detectors and it was chaos getting in. Once Seal came on stage it was all perfect! He is a true musician and performer and put on a fantastic show! Nobody gets the house moving like Seal! We hope he comes back again soon!

The venue was not sold out as advertised. There we a lot of empty seats and half of the concert hall was closed off by a curtain. The band was comprised on one person on guitar, another on synth and Seal. The sound was good. Seal played with a lot of the classics that made him famous and I did not care for the arrangements and switch ups at all. Seal had so many great songs and he only played a handful of them. He stuck with a very conservative and safe set. He does not move around a lot on stage. Will shake his hips her and there for the ladies. All in all I found the concert to be boring and we left early. If your in your high 50s / low 60s then you would fit right in the crowd. Save your money and watch him on video. I own every Seal album and love his work. Was let down by live performance.

Seal concert was great. I would go to his concert again. He started on time and sang beautifully non-stop but there was not enough time for him to sing so many other beautiful songs from his albums. He just seems like a very down to earth person, and very easy going.

For my girlfriend and I we felt that Seal just "mailed it in"!! More disappointing was the venue itself. The Fox Theater is simply beautiful but from our seats (center lodge 6th row) acoustically it was horrible. One more thing that really irritated us was that the concert was scheduled for 8PM. There was no warm-up act and instead a 45 minute DJ thing was on stage. With the date being Super Bowl weekend in the Bay we had to leave our home super early and for what? A DJ?

I like Seal's voice & most of his music, but sound seemed too much & overpowered his voice. We were seated just in front of the sound board, so not sure if that had anything to do with it, as it had a low buzzing sound part of the night. Show was 1 hr. late starting which is not good.

My 1st live Seal performance and it was phenomenal! I have listened to Seal on CDs, Digital Downloads and streams for the past 25 years and his live performance was as astounding and authentic as anything I've ever heard from him before. Seal has timeless music. It was wonderful to hear all the old faves sung live. His new stuff is good, too! He connects with the audience on many different levels. It was in interactive concert as Seal shared his insights and personal feelings about the songs and invited the audience to join in. The only down-side was the background sampling of his own voice in certain songs. We are there to hear him live, not the CD. His voice and performance are so strong he does not need his own voice prerecorded as back up. It was a little distracting. The best parts of the concert were when he strayed from the original songs a bit and made them his own once again, especially without the presence of back-up singers.

The concert would have received five stars but he loses one for starting one hour late. I will admit that parking was horrible so I already walked into the venue 15 minutes late. So I was happy he was starting a little late. I just don't think one hour late was cool. Other than that the music, performance, and the crowd was great. Great night. Seal did not disappoint.

I was supposed to see Seal in Chicago several years ago but he got sick and had to cancel - I've been trying to see him ever since so I was so freaking excited he came to a town near me! First, the sounds at the Silver Creek Event Center was incredible, so crisp and clear, and the venue is small enough so you dont' feel lost in the crowd. My man Seal did not disappoint! Opened with CRAZY (thank you!!!) and that got the party started. Did a nice mix of old/new and a few unexpected gems (Space Oddity and Mad World - both were awesome). Was glad he played guitar on a few songs too! Very often a high energy show, and we were on our feet a lot. Thank you Seal for coming here!!!
