My husband and I attended the 70's Soul Jam and it was an EXCELLENT show. We hated for it end and can't wait to attend another concert featuring artists from the 70's (when music was really music).

I selected this event to celebrate my mom's birthday. We both really enjoy hearing the sound of of old school r-n-b. All the groups were great. We really enjoy the Stylistics' dance steps they were smooth and modern. I recommend this event to everyone that love the sound of the 70's.

The entire show was the BOMB. Main Ingredient, New Birth, Bloodstone, and Ray, Goodman and Brown were great, too. The Emotions were okay, but The Stylistics stole the show. They sang songs that took me waaaay back and we LOVED IT. I would go again just to have to listen to music from the '70s again. It made me reminish about the good 'ole days and we loved it. WE HAD A BALL.

This concert was more than I thought it would be. It turned out be more entertaining than was expected. My heart was touched by the 70's songs that were sang. I appreciated the boisterous enthusiasm of the crowd. Most importantly my wife and I were both pleased and we plan on venturing that way again when you stage events of this nature again. If there was a negative it was the profanity of The New Birth group the show was a classy performance but for that moment in which there was a profanity laced outburst by the New Birth group. Otherwise it was fantastic.

This is the 4th time that my wife and I have attended this concert. We really enjoy the Stylistics. They are amazing. My overall rating is based for the most part on the Stylistics performance. Main Ingredient was average. We did enjoy their performance. I would recommend them. The Manhattans were just fair.

The 70's Sould Jam was the bomb. I had so much fun. I hadn't had that much fun at a concert in years! The Stylistics set off the show, they were the show! Everyone was good, but the Stylistics had it going on! I would see the show again, that is how much I enjoyed and like it!

I did not like The Manhattans. The promoters or radio stations should distinguish the 2 Manhattans groups. I was expecting the Manhattans with Gerald Austin and Blue Lovett instead of the Manhattan Express in which they did not annouce until the show started I believe that was wrong to mislead people. The Manhattan Express not good at all. Other than that the show was good beyond that.

The 70"s Soul concert has been my favorite. They have lost a lot of groups. Let the stylistics perform longer and drop the main ingredients. Manhattans were great! What about adding the dramatics or O'Jays The sound man should of been fired. Too much feedback.

I've been attending the 70's Soul Jam for over a decade now. It's always a good show. This time however there weren't as many groups performing and the main guy from the Stylistics (Mr. Brown) was not in attendance. The replacement was ok, but, not the same. I want the old guy back and would love more artists added to the show.

The show was great!! The performers were at their best. I didn't appreciate how 2 of the acts were abruptly terminated especially while in the middle of peak performances that the crowd was obviously enjoying. That soured the experience a little.

The entire concert was different. The audience was much more subdued and I thought the concert was much shorter than the 8 o'clock. But of course I always enjoyed the Stylistics. They always give a good show and sing just about all of their hits. It was great to see Ray Goodman and Brown. Even though it's not all of the original members they sounded good. They should have stayed on longer. New Birth also good. They sang two of my favorite songs "Wildflower" and "I can understand it". The Dramatic- This is my third time seeing them and their act is becoming more smooth and précised. All in all it was a good show but I think I want to go back to the late performance.

The first group up was New Birth,They only performed for 15 minutes,They sang about 5 songs and seemed to be just going through the motions, I was waiting to hear my favorite song,Until it's time for you to go, but they replacement girl for the original singer, didn't have the proper vocal skills to do the song justice,She was yelling the words more than singing. What a waste of time that could have been given to the other groups there. Second up was Enchantment. It was my 1st time seeing them in person and I enjoyed their show.3rd up was Ray Goodman & Brown. They sang all my favorite songs and did about 40 minutes.Next up was The Dramatics featuring L J Reynolds. They did a flawless performance, and also performed for about 40 minutes.Last but not least the stars of the show The Stylistics. As always were perfection in their singing and performance. They started out with 2 of my favorite songs.Stone in love with you and You;re a big girl now. They did an hour show and displayed all the style and grace which in essence has given them their name. Great job all in all.

Pros: This was undoubtedly one of the best concerts we've ever attended. The groups were tailored to perfection with syncopated choreography done most tastefully. Their voices and songs took me back to some of the best times of my life. I truly loved this show and as long as I'm able, I will attend every 70's Soul Jam in the tri-state area. Cons: One disappointment was that Ray, Goodman & Brown didn't sing With You, Special Lady or Inside of You, although they did apologize. The other was that The Dramatics took too much time promoting their new CD where I would have just preferred them singing the songs we know and love.

But to see them in person and I haven't seen them in years was great. I was like a kid again. Even if there are new members in the group. They still sound so great. I was pleased to be in the audience for the 70's Soul Jam Concert. Howerver, there were a few unpleasant moments. One was that fellow audience members were rather rude. Some were talking so loud that you couldn't hear the performers. Some, when they came in late, just stood up and blocked the view for those behind them. The sound system wasn't great either. At times the voices were so muffled that you couldn't understand some of the voices.

You will be singing and smiling your way through this fun evening. Every act was class from the beginning to the end. It it was so nice to see entertainers that take pride in their performance. I loved the wardrobe that each group came on stage with. It took me right back to when entertainers really entertained and put on a real show. I appreciated the respectful lyrics. ( Mind Blowing Decisions, When will I see you again, Car Wash, Reunited , You're a Big Girl Now) Not like the lyrics we hear today with the sagging pants and underwear crowd yelling Yo! Yo! Yo! If you are deciding what concerts to attend this season. Don't miss this!

So I've been going to the 70s Soul Jam the past 4 years, and it never fails to deliver. I always emerge feeling exhilarated and charged up for the rest of the year. The music and these living legends are just that good. Whoever came up with the idea of having Cuba Gooding Sr. of the Main Ingredient as the opening act and MC was a genius!!!! It's great being able to hear him sing classic hits like Everybody Plays the Fool and Just Don't Want to be Lonely, and then have him pump up the audience in between acts. He has amazing energy and a sharp sense of humor that really sets the tone for this amazing night. Each of the acts is amazing and brings their all - with 6 artists, you get the most bang for your buck, although I'd pay that much just to see one of them, that's how awesome they are. The Manhattans followed Cuba Gooding Sr, and they were great. Their suits were awesome and not only did they sing hits like Let's Just Kiss and Say Goodbye and Shining Star, but they even went way back for some of their early material. A welcome surprise! Blue Magic came next and their blue derby hats were too cool for words. Again they looked super smooth in their white suits. The choreography was on point and their vocals were awesome. I will have to deduct a slight point from the Beacon, I LOVE the venue BUT the mics kept giving out during Blue Magic's performance, and it took a really long time to get them replaced. Other than that, it was amazing! Blue Magic really put on a great show. Also, one of their singers did this bit during Spell where he lost control of himself and was about to start making love to the floor....awesome!!! Cuba Gooding Sr. then said that for the first time in the 70s Soul Jam history, there was something for the men, and he wasn't kidding! The Emotions came out, looking quite elegant and lovely in their red dresses, and bursting full of energy while they sang I Don't Want to Lose Your Love. It was really nice having female singers at this Soul Jam, they brought a very welcome energy, they were the cherry on an awesome 70s cake. :-) They sang all their top hits, and Wyann Vaughn, the daughter of the lead singer, did an amazing performance of Don't Ask My Neighbor. The Chi-Lites followed and wow they sure had their choreography and pyrotechnics down. The stage was darkened, spotlights were moving all around, there was cool narration and special effects sounds, and then they came on the stage looking all dope. Marshall Thompson is the only living original member of the Chi-Lites and God Bless him at 68, he has every bit as much energy as he did in the 70s. When he sang the Coldest Days of My Life, it gave me the chills. Also, he's assembled a great group to take on the roles of the rest of the Chi-Lites. They recreate the original experience perfectly. Last but not least were the 70s soul super group...the Stylistics!!!! And they were as smooth as ever in their white suits as they burst onto the stage with their upbeat cover of Elvis Presley's Can't Help Falling in Love. I'm glad they added this song to the rotation, first time I heard them do it live. They did all their hits - Break Up To Make Up, Stone In Love With You, Betcha By Golly Wow, you name it, they sang it all. They even did a new number from their new album (which everyone should buy as it is super awesome) - Your Love Turned My Life Around. In addition to the awesome vocals and choreography, Herb Murrell took everyone down memory lane with references to the Cheetah Club and parties down in the basement. The evening ended with their goodbye and dedication of You Make Me Feel Brand New to all the ladies. Truly magical evening, just writing this brought it back for me. I highly recommend! I know I'll be there next year.

This was me and my twin sister's first time going to a 70's Soul Jam, and we're glad we did! Since we're both 70's babies (1973 to be exact), we're naturally addicted to anything that has to do with the 70's. When we got there, the lights were already turned off and Jimmie JJ Walker was already on stage as he was the host for this show. This was a great show, and he was a great host, as he still looked the same and had the same energy and humor as he did when he was on Good Times. All the performers (in order of appearance), Carl Carlton, Heatwave, The Delfonics, The Dramatics and The Stylistics were all great and sung all the hits that people love and brought back a lot of memories for. Carl Carlton and Heatwave definitely had the most energy, and The Stylistics were the last to go on and were on stage for the longest. They also shook hands with people at the end, and I got to shake one of their hands. This was a good solid 3.5 hour show that started on time, so I definitely felt that I got my money's worth, especially since we had great seats, front row on the left side of the stage. I also loved the fact that there were people of all ages there from 20's to over 80, and this showed me that great music is ageless. I hope there is another show like this because I will definitely go see it again! It is a MUST for the 70's soul fan!

My guy just LOVES 70's soul jams so when I saw this show coming up for Valentine's Day I just had to get tix and this concert did NOT disappoint. The first half gave us the stylings of the Manhattans, New Birth, Bue Magic and the Dramatics while the second half was all Stylistics. Hearing those soul favorites was the perfect kick-off for a romantic Valentine's Day and the audience was enjoying every minute of it. Some groups had some new additions to their lineup but each had original members among them. Of particular note was Blue Magic who added fun and spice to a phenomenal set , and the new lead singer for the Stylistics whose rich falsetto did honor to one of the most recognizable voices of the era.

This concert was wonderful. Every group was fabulous. Felix Hernandez of Kissfm was a great MC. I listen to him all the time on Sundays. These groups had the energy of teenagers but the voices of mature soul. I went alone, something I have never done. But I was right there grooving and singing to the music with everyone else. I felt comfortable and right at home. New Birth was great, they sang songs I forgot I used to love. The Manhattans were good, but didn't sing as many of my favs as I wished they would have. The Dramatic, and The Stylistics are by far the very best groups. And Blue Magic did a wonderful job as well, when they sang "sideshow" I felt like I was that lovesick little girl from long ago.

I loved the show. I saw the Stylistics at a smaller R & B Legends Concert in Hershey PA, but it is a difference seeing such a group at a venue like the Beacon. They sang everything, and really gave a great performance. Harold Melvin's Blue Notes, I would say the same comment, loved the Red Converses. I was very pleased seeing the Emotions, and for her daughters to be her back-up, what a blessing. I would recommend seeing these older groups. The fire is still there, and it brings great memories. To the Groups, "Thanks for giving us another chance to see your acts so superbly performed". Absolutely Loved It!!!!

Had no idea Eban Brown was no longer with the Stylistics. Wish it would have been announced before hand.

The event was increditable. I waited 47 years to experience these artist live. I grew up to this music and I have to say that I had a time of my life. Thank you LiveNation for putting this together. It brought me back to a time of my life that I truly enjoyed.

The showing was amazing as usual. It's good to see these old groups still performing their hits well. The main disappointment was the so-called emcee who did a poor job filling the moments between acts.

Blue Magic should have had more time on stage. The Delfonics should have less time. Dis appointed in their show. Maybe we can have an up an coming comedian introducing the entertainers. The show was worth the cost.

The Stylistics were by far the best of the 70s show. Blue Magic and the Dramatics were also good. However, the MC was horrible and very unprofessional. He took away from the show.

Great show. They are all aging gracefully. I go to see them every year. Can't wait to see them in 2016.

The show overall was great, period. The disappointment came in two parts, but I'll get to that later. The best parts were great! Blue Magic looked great in their suits, and although they could've sang a few more familiar songs, their performance was dead-on great! The Delfonics (well, more to the point, lead vocalist and group leader William Hart) was the main attraction here. His voice is still there, and while their moves were a bit stilted, it didn't matter...Hart's voice was enough to save the day and carry their performance. The Stylistics stole the show, hands down. And while I was very disappointed right at the outset when Russell Simmons had been replaced......it didn't matter.....because this cat had it down, flat-out! His inflection, vocal range and vibrato was pure Russell Simmons all the way. Had my eyes been closed, I'd never had known it was another lead vocalist! And their song selection was fabulous! The ultra-rare "Children of the Night" and the Kenny Gamble tune "Payback is a Dog" were great to hear live, after listening to my LP for the last 40 years. Their hits were delivered perfectly, and in perfect sequence. I just KNEW they'd end their performance with "You Make Me Feel Brand New," and that they did, and brought down the house. They were on for a full 60 minutes, and didn't miss a trick. And hats-off to their backing band. They pulled it off as well. Now.....as far as the disappointments are concerned, I sorely missed hearing the late Blue Lovett of the Manhattans. These guys could've phoned in their performance. Not enough of their older stuff.....we know "Shining Star." But they could've reached back to their earlier stuff on the King label. Gerald Alston was off his game, and I wasn't even sure if it was him on stage! Oh well.........and as far as the Dramatics were concerned, I got two words for you: Ron Banks. HE was the voice of the Dramatics, and from their performance, it appears their current lead vocalist was too interested in promoting in his solo career to even care about the rest of the group. Sorry, fellas.......you gotta work on your team game......and not the solo career of your lead singer.

The 70's Soul Jam Valentines Concert is who I am! I just relocated from Los Angeles, Ca. and I went to that one but the line up was a little different. I had to make this one because I had not experienced seeing The Delfonics or Blue Magic. And, I can't get enough! No matter how hard I try to embrass today music, nothing sounds, feels like the music from 1970's. We need to honor them, cherish them and make them know we love them. So dear Manhattans, The Dramatics, Blue Magic, The Delfonics and The Stylistics I LOVE YOU ALWAYS AND FOREVER!! YOU ALL LOOKED GREAT AND SOUNDED EVEN GREATER! YOU GOT SOUL AND YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've attended these shows for a couple of years. It's an excellent choice for "us old-heads/baby boomers". Although, the show was good, it seemed a little disorganized during stage changes. Didn't care for the MC continuously "shouting out" celebrities in the audience who were probably just trying to enjoy the show themselves. Also, didn't care for the stunt where he offered and did reimburse an audience member for ticket costs. This person was sitting in Orchestra section, so they could afford these seats. Next time he should try announcing a seat-number(s) and reimburse that person. It would go over better. Also didn't care for him dragging his spouse out to meet the celebrities. A backstage meet & greet should have been arranged instead. I know this was "filler" for stage changes but it was inappropriate. Would also have liked to see more of Blue Magic and less of the Dramatics, also I did enjoy them.

The best concert I have been to in awhile. Blue Magic never disappoints and the Manhattans and Delfonics still have it. The highlight of the show would have to be the Dramatics and the Silky Soulful Stylistics. LJ Reynolds of the Dramatics have one of the most fantastic voices and his version of Marvin Gaye's "Come Get To This" is one of the best remakes made. The Stylistics are untoppable and unstoppable. Their entire show is so well put together it feels as though these guys have not even aged. Their sound is still phenomenal and they give a show well worth the price of your ticket. Altogether, a totally awesome night.....

The Dramatics & Stylistics were the ONLY groups who were a pleasure to hear & watch. All of the other groups need to take heed of these two groups performances. Also for the ticket cost, there should have been a better show & seating should have been closer to the stage. Seemed as though it was just thrown together. The Host was even TERRIBLE!!!!

Seeing those guys perform really made my Valentine's Day great!. I first saw them perform at the Apollo during the Wednesday rehearsal that the public was allowed to watch. I was around 8 years old and didn't quite understand love songs but knew something amazing was occurring. Now as an adult, I know and love every song from each group. I will continue to attend every 70's Soul Jam. I raved so much about the groups that my 25 year old daughter wants to attend. However the host left much to be desired, I was unfamiliar with him and was not pleased with his hosting skills. :(
