I ve never seen security put on gloves before, I told the girl next to me as I watched the ten security personal standing between me and the stage pull on gloves and bite down on mouth guards Saturday night. What? No riot helmets? Well, I guess they had heard that Flogging Molly was in town to bring their little piece of Ireland to the Southside Ballroom in Dallas, Texas seven days before St. Patrick s Day. Well, this was my fifth Flogging Molly show, but I didn t think to bring a mouth guard. Oh well, just keep your knees bent and don t wear open toe sandals. However, I will bring up a little praise for opening act Jon Snodgrass and opening to the opening act, The Dirty Old One-Man Band, Scott H. Biram who nailed me right in the forehead with his guitar pick. Flogging Molly took the stage with lead singer Dave King hoisting up his ever-present can of Guinness, and suddenly the band dove into THE HAND OF JOHN L. SULLIVAN off their new album. As the guitar, fiddle, accordion, and mandolin blasted from the stage I suddenly felt strange hands along with other foreign body parts grabbing my shoulders and shoving up against my back. Yes, the party had started! Then guitarist Dennis Cassey dove into the opening rift of SWAGGER! Oh, I love this song! some girl next next to me screamed as she grabbed my arm, and we both screamed out the first words together in unison. And then with the next song SELFISH MAN we faced each other and screamed out that words, I ll never understand, why I m such a selfish man! Yes, I had found a bigger Flogging Molly fan than myself. Then after some serious head banging and jumping up and down not to mention a few high fives we sang/shrieked out the words to DRUNKEN LYALABYE followed by a few higher fives. Suddenly my attention was turned to some hefty, burly dude to my left who had pretty much collapsed on the rail. As the security guys tried to pull him over the rail I joined in and lifted up his legs to notice he was wearing a kilt. I m not sure if the rumor of what men wear under their kilts is true of not, but I wasn t asking or looking. After a quick fist bump with security, me and my new Flogging Molly bestie were back to harmonizing with the well-dressed guys on stage along with the horde of beer soaked slam dancers behind us. Grabbing my arm, she shrieked I love this song! as fiddle player, Bridget Regan pulled her bow across her fiddle sending the band into the song REQUIEM FOR A DYING SOUL. This of course gave us the opportunity to scream out the lyrics, Hear the shimmy and the shake from a futile war. Then again, I m not sure either one us really knew what we were saying. However, no words needed to be sang, screamed, or screeched as Flogging Molly s axe man, Dennis Cassey, dove into the guitar solo of BLACK FRIDAY RULE bending and hammering the strings of his Gibson Les Paul nearly a ten-minute solo. Once Dave King returned to his microphone though, me and my new Flogging Molly friend screamed out the words, Black Friday rules! like we were part of the band. My duet screaming partner wasn t the only female on hand for night. You re a tough chick! I said to the girl behind me who had been continuously slammed up against me throughout the concert. Then again, her nose ring told me that she wasn t one to shy away from self-inflicted agony. This conversation was cut short for my new bestie grabbed my arm again and screamed out, I love this song! Well, we love all these songs. That s why we submit ourselves to this kind of entertaining abuse. However, at the end of the show the feeling had drifted down to a mixture of relief and tranquility as the band all danced around the stage to the song that closes all their shows, and guitarist Cassey came down and high fived us all. That s rock and roll with an Irish twist!

Flogging Molly has been on my bucket list for years. I missed them the last time they were in Calgary, but this show absolutely made up for it. The opening acts were fantastic and I found a new band that I'll be following! Radkey was phenomenal and got the crowd all pumped up for the headliner. Everyone was having an incredible time and you could feel the energy in the room. Flogging Molly was beyond what I was expecting. Their sound, stage presence, performance and energy were unreal. They played their hearts out for over 2 hours and did not disappoint. They were really interactive with the crowd and at the end some of the band members even came into the audience to meet their fans. My husband and I had the privilege of meeting Matt Hensley. He is my hubby's childhood skateboard hero and my accordion inspiration. If you ever get the opportunity to see a Flogging Molly show, don't give it up!!!

First off Fox Theater is amazing, great atmosphere, cool staff and great sound. The opening acts were so-so but Flogging Molly was absolutely jaw-dropping. Their energy is just amazing and they got the crowd into it with ease. Even came back out for a nice 2 song encore.

A sea of emotion swept the crowd even before the start of the show with chants from the crowd. As Flogging Molly entered the roar of the crowd flushed through the ear drums and into your soul connecting everyone in the room. At the same time you are pushed forward by the full house behind you reaching ever closer for the stage just to be pushed back into the sea of people ranging from the youngster at his first show to seasoned veteran in his mid thirties. With each note the crowd grew more energetic and the bonds between people became strong making us a single entity. By the end of the show we were not many people but a single unanimous being cheering for more.

Man, I knew I loved to listen to Flogging Molly, but there is nothing like the EXPERIENCE of Flogging Molly! The sound was big! The energy incredibly high! The chit chat low...just song after song after song, some familar, some from way back, all now favorites! The quality of the music was great and the ecclectic personalities made for fun viewing. Would I go again? You bet your Guinness I would!

I've been a huge Flogging Molly fan since the instant I heard them, but this was my first time seeing them live. They ABSOLUTELY did not disappoint. Regarding the opening shows: I knew Hepcat was going to be golden, and I was completely pleasantly surprised by Fitz and the Tantrums. Flogging Molly is just the epitome of cool, they're rebellious, but not in an abrasive way. Just too good. SEE THEM LIVE WHENEVER YOU CAN!

I'd never seen them before, and I'd heard there's always a party atmosphere on the concert floor, and they were right. It's like one giant drunken party on the concert floor and the people thrashing by the stage were way on the ball picking up those that got knocked over, which is always a plus. I hate non-friendly mosh pits, because it's really just not safe. If you like their music, drinking, dancing, or better all of the above, a Flogging Molly concert is a must! Oh, and the Fox Theater is beautiful and they have 6 bars just on the concert floor, almost no lines for drinks and everyone was drinking!

This was my first time at the Fox Theater in Oakland, CA. Beautiful venue, decent staff, and the sound was better than the last place I saw Flogging Molly about three years ago. The openers were great. What they lacked in popularity, they made up for in energy. Fitz & the Tantrums have kind of a fifties revival thing going on with their sound and clothes. And Hepcat was pure ska, I mean ORIGINAL SKA (not like Mighty Mighty Bosstones or Dance Hall Crashers). Both bands great performers. Flogging Folly was so awesome! They always deliver. Just an amazing performance from start to finish and they did two encore songs!

Hep Cat (one of my favorite live bands) was amazing and so incredible to see at the Fox. It was a perfect venue for them and they make me smile and dance like few others. Flogging Molly ROCKED and sure did almost bring down the house! the crowd was a bit scary but as soon as I found myself away from most of the Moshers, I enjoyed myself. The Fox seems to be a venue where one has to figure out where to stand for the best sound....still very loud and echoey.

I have now been to nine (9) Flogging Molly concerts - EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM WAS AMAZING! They bring great energy, hopping music, and a lot of fun! The singer, David King, has been in the music industry for years (was in Fastway years ago). He is from Ireland and brings a lot of Irish attitude to the band. Any time they are in an area I can get to their concert, I do. A few things you need to know before you go: 1) Do not get near the front or large crowd, within two notes of their first song, the majority of the place becomes a moshpit! 2) If you are offended easily by cussing, don't go - not to mention, you probably shouldn't even listen to the band! 3) Stay after the concert. Usually Dennis, Nathan, and Bob come back out and come out into the crowd to thank their fans. LOVE Flogging Molly - one of the bands that is very interactive with their fans and the crowds that come to listen to them! I can't wait to hear their newest album live!

I first saw Molly open up for the Bosstones back in late 90's, early 2000's. They blew me away the moment they hit the stage. Saw them like 8 times since then. The adrenalin, power and entertainment is still as pure today as it was back then. From the second they hit the stage, the crowd starts jumping and the pit starts dancing. Great night and a great show!!! If you haven't seen them before. Make sure you do. You won't regret it. Slainte

All three bands put on amazing shows, despite bad weather. The downpours began just as Chuck Ragan took the stage and continued through the Frank Turner set. There was a brief respite before Flogging Molly, but then the deluge continued. Highlights from each were Meet Me in the Middle from Chuck, Recovery by Frank, and Salty Dog and Black Friday rules. I've been to a mixed GA/RESERVED show at the Maine State Pier before, and swore I'd never go back. GA was at the rear of the venue and I never even saw the band. This was full GA, and was a huge improvement far as the experience was concerned.

To be honest, I had heard of Flogging Molly but knew none of their songs. I was just looking for a show in CLE on Sunday night, and Molly was at Nautica. I'm definitely glad I went and checked it out. I was pleased with the Celtic feel, the punkness, and the musicianship.

This is my third time seeing Gogol Bordello, and each time is just as exciting, original and energetic as the last! GB is one of those bands that just comes alive when you see them live. Even some people that had never seen them or even heard of them before are now converts to the Gypsy Punk Revolution after seeing them! Mariachi El Bronx was a very pleasant surprise for me. I'd never heard of them before and I'm happy to say they didn't disappoint me either! Unfortunately, I couldn't stay for Flogging Molly, but I'm told they were good too, but not as spectacular as Gogol Bordello were. On the hottest day of the summer, we ventured to an outdoor concert! Despite the heat we had a blast - the drinks were cold, the people were friendly, the lawn seats were in the shade and the bathrooms were air conditioned HEAVEN. You can see and hear great from every angle of the venue, so lawn seats were a good savings. Gogol Bordello was off the chain fantastic! The energy they had on a 101 degree afternoon was boundless!! I will see them every time! Flogging Molly was incredible. The personality of that band and their flawless music make them show stoppers each time. I cannot recommend these bands or this venue and higher! Also, because they weren't sold out, staff offered to let us move into the seating area before Flogging Molly. Champs.

The palladium is one of the best venues to see a show in Southern California and Flogging Molly is one of the best bands anywhere. They always bring so much energy and excitement but this show was one of the best I've ever seen. Perhaps it was because it was St. Patrick's Day, perhaps it was because they were fresh off the Salty Dog cruise, or perhaps it was because they just played a great setlist, but I've seen them at least 10-15 times and this was definitely one of the best.

My first time at the State Theater AND seeing Flogging Molly. What an INCREDIBLE show!! Great opening acts (Pasadena & The Mighty Stef) got the crowd moving and ready for more. Flogging Molly hits the stage and just BLEW me away! The talent and energy of this band is incredible! FM's front man, Dave King, has an amazing voice and REALLY knows how to play to the crowd. He clearly enjoys what he does (why do it otherwise?) and makes the effort to interact with his audience and make sure WE know how much HE (and the rest of the band) appreciate our being there. By far one of the best concerts I have EVER attended!

Billed as the Tenth and final round of their annual Green 17 tour this show firmly established Flogging Molly as one of top bands to see live. The set covered some of their best known work, such as Drunken Lullabies and Black Friday Rule, but they also played some material I have not heard live in many years (if ever) Us of Lesser Gods UV particular was awesome to hear. The Likes of You Again and Life in Tenement Square were fantastic to hear again. I have these guys every time they have come through Dallas for the last ten years, once at the now defunct Gypsy Tea Room, every show has been outstanding. They always have good opening acts to support them as well.

I love Flogging Molly, they're my favorite band. Every year I look forward to them coming to Chicago and I do everything I can to attend. Seeing them live is indescribable, and this year, I have to say it was the best I've seen (save for when I saw them in South Carolina two years ago at a smaller venue so it felt a bit more personal. Got to be right up front and avoid the moshing and even talk to Nathan!) They love to joke with the audience and always have a positive energy. I love how they'll dance around stage and at the end of the show, they always play "Always Look On the Bright Side of Life", which they sing and dance around to on stage too. If you love Flogging Molly, but have never been to a concert, GO! They sound 100 times better live! This was the last Green 17 Tour, but they'll be doing other concerts and I can't wait to see them again! Age group: They swear quite a bit, so it's not for the younger ones, but I saw a lot of older people in the crowd; parents went with their teenagers and were dancing around too! Drinking: Beer prices are a little high and just know there's going to be cups thrown around, sometimes with liquid still in them.

Every time I have been to the House of Blues I've had a great time. The 10th Annual Flogging Molly Green Tour blew every other concert out the door! The amount of positive energy resonating from the crowd cannot be duplicated outside of Boston! Lenny Lashley's Gang of one, The Drowning Men, and Flogging Molly were complete perfection. Such an amazing night. Thank you

Got up on stage and pit just went nuts. As soon as they hit off the first song the pit was still going nuts! David King is an excellent performer, before and after a song! So happy I got to hear them live thinking beforehand they only played in the West Coast. Man a cool painting for the band however couldn't get it into the show. Thanks for the memories!

Flogging Molly is one of the greatest touring groups ever and they did not disappoint at one of their favorite venues, the Norva! Pasedena and Drowing Men opened and did well, but the crown was waiting for the headliners. They played two solid hours, rocked us all with their Irish Punk, then hung out with the crowd long after the concert. Looking forward to their next CD and hoping their hiatus is not too long!

The show was wicked rad! Flogging Molly never disappoints when they come to town and I recommend everyone see them live! The venue was decent. The stage could sit a little higher for those in the back to see the band better but overall the sound was excellent. The first opener didn't really have me in the beginning but by the end of their set I really enjoyed them. The second act put me to sleep.

This was an awesome show! Flogging Molly always has great energy. And the Tragically Hip flat out rock! Overall this was a good experience. Parking was cheap and so were the drinks (compared to other venues that we have been to). And, the traffic leaving was much better this time compared to the last Hip concert at the outer harbor.

My first expirence ever with The Flogging Molly? Wanted to leave when I heard the opening act, They were Horrible, But I'm glad I stayed, Flogging Molly was GREAT and I will go back despite the disappointment before them, I sure hope they find someone better before they return to stage.

Amazing performance by all three bands. It was completely unexpected. I originally thought that the 2 bands prior to Flogging Molly would be a bust, but I WAS WRONG and became a new fan of 2 bands I have never heard before and plan to buy their albums for my collection. THANK YOU everyone for an excellent night to talk about for years to come.

I've been to a few concerts in my time but this concert was hands-down the best. Dave Hause did a good job of warming the crowd up. Skinny Lister was up next, a British band with a solid selection of sea shanties. Having not heard of them prior to the show, their live set was amazing! They had great energy, and were all about some crowd interaction; I lost a contact while the bassist (with his stand-up base) was cross-surfing. Flogging Molly closed it down...if you have never seen them live, do so. My only regret is that they didn't play Black Friday Rule.

Ive seen this band every time they come to Houston. They put on the most amazing live show! You may go into this concert unsure about how you feel about them, but when you leave, you will know you stumbled onto a band that you will never forget! They love what they do and it shows every time they play! I recommend this band to anyone young or old! If you love music that makes your feet wanna never stop moving and your ears left wanting more, this is your band!

I've seen Flogging Molly live 3 times and every time has been amazing. This time, however, beat it all! I'm usually not a big fan of opening acts, but I literally fell in love with the two opening acts and have been actively downloading their music ever since! Then FM hit the stage- they played a bunch of old songs from their first two albums as well as a few new ones I haven't heard before. They're always so much fun to see live and this time was literally the icing on the cake. The band is so nice and loving of their fans, it feels like they're still a small town band. I adore these guys and if you've got the means, go see this tour!

When the first shower of beer hit me, I knew I was in for an awesome show. Opening with the ever popular Drunken Lullibies, Floggy Molly hit the stage with a vengeance. And the crowd was ready for it. After standing in an hour long line and sitting through two passable opening acts, the natives were getting restless. I have not moshed since, well never mind, but I fell right into it. Loved it so much! Would totally go again!

The show was great. High energy band with a super long set. 4th show from them and have never been disappointed.. My only let down of the night was the 2nd band "the Architects" seemed a little too hard for the night, didnt seem to mesh well with the other groups.

The bands before them were pretty decent. Synthetic Element was very enjoyable and I had a good time rocking out to them. The other band was the Architects and I didnt enjoy them nearly as much. But all went to the back of my mind when Flogging Molly walked onto the stage. The experience was like nothing i have ever been in. My friends and I managed to get to the front and were barely able to survive some of the mosh pits and crowd surfs. At one point in the show some man ran from backstage and tried to jump in the crowd, resulting in a painful looking crash. The crowd was electric, the band was unforgettable, and if you dont see them live, then your missing out.

Flogging Molly is incredible...this is the best value going. FM fans who are not familiar with Frank Turner should definitely check him out pre-show too..he is incredible and made this one of the greatest shows ever. Check out the Road and Worse things Happen at sea on You tube - View live versions as studio releases will not do justice. I was blown away and enjoyed almost 4 hours of music.

As always, Flogging Molly brought the house down at the Norva, in Norfolk. Dave was more hoppy than usual, extra animated, and had some great drunken music faces! He always cracks me up and keeps me screaming and clapping! Bridget's whistle solos were so amazing! Everyone had lots of love! The pit was insane and the show was sold out. People were packed to the walls. A few folks crowd surfed, but mostly just a lot of slam dancing and moshing. Of course, Nathan is always my favorite of the band and didn't disappoint. He gets so into the music, with his eyes closed, just feeling it unlike a lot of artists around today. He's definitely one of the best bassists alive and inspired me as always to go home and play my bass! All in all, probably one of the best shows I've seen them do here. They make me proud to be Irish!!

Flogging Molly rocked it! No questions asked, one of the best shows I have been to at HOB. The opening acts, The Architects and Frank Turner, were also great. Both bands put on a great show and had the crowd going by the time Flogging Molly took the stage. I had a blast!

FM continues to be the best live act out there bar none. A nearly flawless 2hr set with alot of acoutical takes and some oldies but goodies they haven't played in awhile making the list. There opening acts were very good, The Architects got the place jumping right off the bat and Frank Turner was an amazing second act. I will keep an eye out for when the next time he comes through Houston.

I took my daughter and her cousin to the Flogging Molly concert for her birthday and had a blast! When Flogging Molly hit the stage they were energized, playing with amazing precision. They put together a set list that spanned thier entire music history as well as the entire Float album. The best was when they played my daughters favorite song for the last song during thier encore. One of the best concerts I have been to. I will see them again!

I couldn't believe how great that show was, im still dumbfounded and its been about 24 hours. the bands that they chose to open were defenitly different but very entertaining, especially Hepcat and how they got everyone moving! When Flogging came out they laid out a good 11/2 hour - 2 hour set and jsut played each song one right after the other. i was just blown away how awesome they were!! Hope they come around again soon!

After the opening band, Hepcat got everyone moving. Flogging Molly came out and played an excellent set. They ended up playing a lot of stuff off of the album "Float". They followed up their already generous set with and encore. Afterwords some of the members of the band (Dennis, Nathen, and Bob) came out to the crowd to talk, take pictures and sign things for the grateful fans. Flogging Molly has got to be the most upbeat and down-to-earth band that I've seen go that big.

Marymoor is a great venue. Flogging Molly with Hepcat in a great venue is out of this world good! The played lots of stuff from Float, many songs they've never performed live before and most of the old goodies. There was lots of room to dance, the crowd was enthusiastic and easy going. The sound quality was really good and at appropriate levels. I can't recommend this venue or Flogging Molly enough.
