Asking Alexandria

Asking Alexandria

For English metalcore act Asking Alexandria, years of extensive touring paid off in 2013 when their third album From Death to Destiny debuted at No. 5 on The Billboard 200. Tapped by Korn as a supporting act on their 2013 tour, Asking Alexandria quickly earned a reputation for their amped up live show, resulting in a series of headlining concerts with Sevendust, All That Remains, and others. The band's touring success in 2013 continued an already-successful run on the road – in 2012, fans clamored for tickets for their sold-out club dates in North America and the U.

I went to the show in Orlando and the one in Tampa (that this review is about) and this one was so much better! The venue was a bit less filled than the other and the bands were more personal it seemed than the other show. I got up to the barricade so I had an incredible time! Every band was spectacular both times. Bad Omens, being the opener, didn't have long but they played really well and won over at least one new fan (me). Definitely picking up their album, and I'd recommend it. Upon A Burning Body was very good too, playing an interesting set and having everyone get involved with their songs. After The Burial, they played very well, just not my favorite set. Still I liked it and I plan to pick up some of their music when I go to get UABB's music. I See Stars was an unexpected set. When I say this, I had no clue who they were or what they sounded like, but the high pitch of Devin's voice caught me by surprise. This set was really really good and the singer got right up to the crowd and was reaching out and touching hands too, so he got really personal with the crowd. Born of Osiris was a good set, also not exactly my favorite, but they played very well and went nuts on stage, and the music was still good. Now for Asking Alexandria. These guys did so well! They are the reason I went to both of these shows, and they didn't disappoint. Between the comedic nature of their conversations, their incredible musical performance, and the fact that they played a variety of their discography made their performances incredible. Also, seeing Danny back in the band is a nice touch too. I went a fan of one band, and I left there with four new ones, and I could almost say five new ones. Definitely worth checking out!

Awesome show. Never seen them live but heard that perform great. they did not let me and my daughter(12) down. Love seeing other bands but rather cut one or two bands out of the line up and have more of the main headliner. Asking Alexandria has overcome the departure of Danny with Denis for sure. Great show.

They are amazing live! This is a band that is very unique and has the best of all music genres combined. Hardcore, Rock, Metal, techno you name it. Make you wanna party and have a great time! They are a very fast rising band. Enjoy them now before they go expensive.

This is a venue that serves alcohol.......It is actually a bar. Children under the age of 16 are allowed with a parent, however, this is not a place for young teens. Too many grown men getting drunk and fighting.......Drunken girls all over their boyfriends. Sheriff, ambulance and fire department had to be called......

Danny Worsnop came out pretty drunk. He was off pitch and didn't seem to care about putting on a good show. Highly disappointed. Seen the b4 and they were awesome but not this time. Drove 3 hours to see them. What a let down.

UABB had a great set list. First time seeing these guys. Amazing. Played the first and second singles from the last two albums, along with other fan favorites. Miss May I easily had the best set list. Playing an off date from Mayhem gave them an opportunity to play some older stuff. Lots of songs from Monument and At Heart! Which is what WE the FANS want to hear. Don't get me wrong the newer albums are good, but remembering what got you to that stage in first place is very important. They had a great balance of new songs and MMI classics. Asking Alexandria had a great performance, but I was not satisfied by the set list. So many songs they could have played from Stand Up and Scream. I understand they need to push their new stuff. I was completely shocked to hear Danny's voice. The guy can sing...just not for AA(keep the acoustic on the bus). I feel like we went to a Slipknot show and Stone Sour showed up...

The lineup of bands was pretty good. Born of Osiris, We Came as Romans, and August Burns Red were all incredible! Asking alexandria performed very well, but I could do without all of the anti-god and sexual remarks. I'm not inyo pushing my religion on others, but what the lead singer was saying was so offensive I left before they could finish their set. Disappointed!!

We got there late and didn't get to see the first two opening acts. But every we did see was great. Especially Asking Alexandria and We Came As Romans. AA played a pretty long set and sounded great live. Personally I would've loved if they played more songs from thier first album, Stand Up and Scream but they did play a few. Overall the Break Down the Walls tour was a great time!

Every single band killed it. You know it was a good show when you come home, can't hear anything, your back and neck are sore (mainly from headbanging, but also people landing on you) and you have bruises on your arms and ribs from moshing and participating in the wall of death.

Out of all the concerts I have been to I loved this one the most. It was my first time seeing Asking Alexandria, a band I've been tryin to see the past 5 years. I had seen Born Of Osiris, Crown the Empire, We Came As Romans, and August Burns Red and all of them did better this time around than the previous time I had seen them, except for August Burns Red who I feel did worse. That isn't going to keep me from giving this a 5 star review though! Because all of the Other bands made up for it tenfold! All of the bands flowed rather well together and gave off such a great stage presence! I was utterly pleased!

Overall the show wasn't that bad. The show started late, so that's never good. For Today was awesome... until the lead singer got a little preachy. I don't go to metal shows to hear them talk about God. All That Remains always puts on an awesome show. Sevendust was a little more mellow than what I remember them being. It was my first time seeing Asking Alexandria and they were pretty awesome.

I've been to roughly around 40- 45 concerts and this one was hands down the best yet!! Asking Alexandria is my favorite band and I knew they would be phenomenal, but I wasn't expecting the opening bands to be as well. Most of the other concerts I have attended, usually the opening bands weren't too great even very popular well known bands. But the opening bands blew me away with how great they were live! It just got me more hyped to see Asking Alexandria! If you all still have a chance to see them do it!! Do NOT miss out on this PHENOMENAL performance!!

This show was seriously one of the best shows I have ever been to! I got barricade and was impressed with all the acts. I had a blast (despite missing some parts of the performances because I was being mauled by crowd surfers)!! I also had meet and greet so that just made the experience a whole lot better. Sadly, I sprained both my foot and ankle as the show concluded but that didn't put a dent in my experience, if anything, it made it better!

The Break Down The Walls Tour was amazing. It was the best concert I've ever been to. Everywhere was a good spot to be, but me and my friends were really close to the barrier. It was upsetting that the lead singer tore his vocal chords from asking Alexandria. But, it was very awesome to see the other singers step up and fill in from the other bands. This show was great from start to finish. Each act in order was progressively more polished and showed the experience at thier craft. When I purchased this ticket, the Asking Alexandria that I had seen in 2015 at warped tour is what I was excited to see. After warped tour I was dying to see them live again and than when I saw they were going on tour I knew I had to get tickets. But then a month before the show everything changed and I paid to see the band that I saw at warped tour but that wasn't the case and that made me really unhappy. Leading up to the show I was so disappointed that I spend money to see them. I will not be buying tickets to see them ever again. So I ended up losing my money that I work hard for to a show that I didn't even go to.

With all of the speculation with Danny's return I was skeptical but let me make it VERY clear... This show was the best I have seen in a long time! Danny, as well as Ben, James, Sam and Cameron were unforgettable. I was laughing till it hurt and screaming all of the lyrics to old songs by Asking Alexandria, but lets not forget to mention the other five bands! Bad Omens, perfect! What a great opening band! Upon A Burning Body, unforgettable and undeniably amazing. After The Burial, what a fantastic group of people! I see stars, best performers and they got the crowd going. Definitely seeing them again when they come back. Born of Osiris, never have I enjoyed a heavy metal band as much as them! 10/10 recommend.

Even with being a fan of this band for as long as I have, this was the first time I ever got to see them with their original line up. The concert was so amazing! Getting to hear all their old songs that I thought I never would definitely made me really nostalgic about this band. This was my first metalcore concert and I was not disappointed. In fact it was better than I thought it would be. You know a concert was great when you get to the venue with your side fringe straightened and your eyeliner looking flawless, and by the end of the first opening band you look like trash. What I liked about each band: Be(lie)fs- metalcore band with a female vocalist. I'm an aspiring rock frontwoman so it's very inspiring for me to see female fronted bands. As Animals Eat my Insides- incredible energy, and the fake blood was a nice touch. While She Sleeps- Loved these guys since I saw them at Warped Tour. Frontman crowd surfed over the entire audience, that was pretty cool. Asking Alexandria- Denis Stoff is an amazing addition to this band. His live vocals are amazing. Went into the mosh pit during their set, got pretty roughed up. It was great.

Asking Alexandria was drunk and their live show would have been really bad if not for the light show. Danny could barely walk and even dropped his mic stand once. They also had to turn his mic down significantly. The show was saved by Blessthefall and Upon a Burning body though. They were great and really knew how to work the crowd! Will definitely be going to see them again.

I really enjoyed the show, though enjoying it I also have some dislikes! One is that the line up was disorganized by talent (opinion)! A proper order would of been... The Family Ruin, Asking Alexandra, Bless the fall, Upon A Burning Body, and then of coarse Chelsea grin! Opinions on bands would follow as The Family Ruin "sucks" (cannot support, wished I was late), Asking Alexandria can sound awesome and awful in every song throughout (though they do have potential to be awesome), Bless The Fall I do enjoy but think they suck live, Upon a burning body is just simply bad ass both live (maybe better) and studio, and was completely blown away by Chelsea Grin live there sound both instrumentally and vocally is much better than what there record company produces them too sound like! I was amazed by this for I have never thought that vocals could sound better live, there sound is much cleaner revealing all there talent for what its worth! One thing must be mentioned here as well, Columbus if you want good bands like this to keep coming back, give them a show back from the audience, when they want a pit, give it too them, when they want crowd surfing, just do it! I have to say from what I seen the crowd was a little stagnant for bands of this talent performing for you! Stop watching the show through your phones video recorder, its lame, and ruins views for others, its not like your ever going to really watch them! It's sure not like the good old days anyways! Though for those who are reading this and did not go there was these things present, just not at a level to make them remember for Columbus a must stop on the next round through the region! All in all if you didn't go, you missed out!

I can't believe that I and other parents allow their kids to listen to this music. I feel like I sound like my parents when I say that. I consider myself to be up on most modern non mainstream music but in my opinion this is just loud noise with no rhythm or beat. I have been to 100s of concerts and festivals but this was the worst "music" I have ever heard. I should have educated myself a little better first. The venue "The National" is quite amazing and I would love to go back and hear something better.

So I'm not big on Asking Alexandria. I am familiar with some of their songs but the real reason i went was for the main supporting act, As I Lay Dying. The beginning of the concert was a bit of a drag. Attila and I See Stars opened up . Now for Attila, the crowd was rabid, there at least 3 mosh pits at once. Not a fan of their music, but they put on a very energetic show, and they had a lot of fans representing them so the energy in the theater was great. I See Stars was painful to watch. They incorporate a ton on synthesizing, sampling and Dubstep into their music which gets boring after a while. Live crowd, most likely all the 15 year olds that think this garbage constitutes as music. Thankfully their set wasnt that long. They did not fit in at all with this lineup, but then again they replaced Suicide Silence, who tragically lost their lead singer Mitch Lucker. Next was Memphis May Fire, which put on a great performance. I enjoyed listening to them live and they are great live. I give much credit to the lead singer who does screams and high range clean vocal. His transitions are clean and flawless. They got me warmed up and ready for the band i was here to see. As I Lay Dying was next, and there is never anything wrong with an AILD show. Their setlist was great, i believe they did about 2 songs from all their albums, catering to new and old fans alike. had a blast hearing new songs, A Greater Foundation and Cauterize live. I can never say anything wrong about AILD. if they are in a show near you, GO TO IT. Finally was the headlining band Asking Alexandria. Again not big on their music but they earned my respect as a band and as performers last night. They put on an amazing performance. Halfway through their set, a banner for Mitch Lucker was displayed and AA actually left the stage, as a recording of a Suicide Silence song played in honor of him. Although it wasnt the most enjoyable lineup ive been a part of, for some reason, i had a really great night, and this is one of my most memorable concert experiences ever. So i recommend going to the Outbreak tour if it comes near you, you will not regret it... except for I See Stars though. but AILD and AA TOTALLY make up for it.

I enjoyed the show! I fell in love with the all vocalists from all the bands. This was my first AA show, sadly Danny wasn't able to perform due to issues with his vocal cords. I thought it was just fantastic the singers/screamers from other bands filled Danny's spot for the AA songs. The songs were great, the crowd's energy made the show more spectacular, to me.

Asking Alexandria has always been one of my favorite bands, just as best buy theatre is one of my favorite venues. When I found out they were playing there, there was no question in my mind. I logged onto live nation which already has my credit card info and I bought a ticket for myself and my stepsister. Even though Danny was sick and could sing to his full abilities AA was still AWESOME!! Event staff was also very nice. I really love this venture, I highly recommend it to anyone.

Attila is fantastic and the fronz knows whats hes doing. I see stars was a great trade for suicide silence. Memphis may fir is one of my all time favorite bands and of course they did fantastic. But they only played their new album challenger when i was hoping they would play like "be careful what you wish for" or "ghost in the mirror" from their old albums which was dissapointing. I didnt stay for as i lay dying and asking alexandria sucka and me and my girlfriend didnt even wanna bother listening to them

The show was amazing for my first metal concert I got to meet Atilla and was amazed of how nice they were. Although I could not stay to see asking Alexandria, I am glad that I still got to go and Support suicide silence.

The show was unbelievable! Even though the lead singer for Asking Alexandria blew his vocal chords, the band itself was amazing and put a fantastic show that made the fans go nuts. The other bands as well were just as great. I have seen a majority of these bands before and they never fail to amaze.

This was the absolute best show i had ever attended, I started listening to Atilla over a year ago, but all the other bands ive listened to for years. As I Lay Dying is what got me into the hardcore/metal music when i heard of them in 2005 in Middle School. It was the best time i ever had at this show.

All of the bands played well, but Worsnop needs to start taking care of his voice. His absence at the concert really hurt Asking Alexandria's performance. And props to Josh Gilbert of As I Lay Dying for playing through whatever was ailing him that night.

The Outbreak tour was really an amazing tour. The only letdown was Asking Alexandria's singer wasn't able to preform. So they had a replacement singer that sounded really horrible and kind of messed up the songs. Other than that the band played the songs really well.

The bands were amazing!! Asking Alexandria though disappointed me a lot. Ben couldve sang the clean vocals but instead I ended up hearing the crowd the whole time. But other than that everyone was amazing and the crowd was unforgettable.

This show was amazing. Every band killed it, and there wasn't a moment without energy. I wish that the volumes were better for Memphis May Fire and Attila because it was sometimes hard to make out their guitar/bass parts. The sound quality was best for As I Lay Dying, and I've been listening to them a lot more solely for their awesome performance. I See Stars didn't sound any different than their album: everything was spot on. Asking Alexandria sounded great despite Danny not even singing and having fill-ins. Despite the setup times for the bands being extremely long (Asking took 35 mins), the music made up for it. Definitely see this show if you have the opportunity.

AA singer was sick so they had other bands singers try to fill in. Since I am not a huge fan this was quite comical watching the other guys try and read the words off the taped lyric sheet in front of the speaker. They had to stop after about 8 songs when they were scheduled for 18. What should have happened was AA went second to last then had AILD close since they sounded the best out of all of them and could fill the time. People were leaving during the AA set because it was that bad. Also, AILD should not be on this tour. There sound isn't like the other bands

I had never seen I See Stars before and I had really wanted to lately and when I found out that Asking Alexandria and I See Stars were together I was stoked! I showed up 10 minutes late for the Asking Alexandria CD signing but it was worth it in the end because I got to see Ben Bruce and Danny Worsnop less than 2 feet away from me and it was just a fascinating and life changing moment for me! I have been wanting to see Asking Alexandria in concert for about 2 years now and I am so glad I finally got to! As for I See Stars, they are now almost as high on my list as Asking Alexandria because Asking is my favorite band of all time. The thing about I See Stars that I like that it seems like Asking doesn't have is the sense of humor that I See Stars does. But I still love Asking with all my heart because I have listened to them from the start of their career. <3
