One of the best shows I have seen in some time. Bob Weir rocked the Ryman. I can't wait until they come back again!

Roberta Flack

Roberta Flack revealed that she is still talented with an eternal voice! She commanded the group of musicians backing her and they were fantastic as well! There was no doubt who was the leader of the band. She sings with feeling and you want to be next to her when she expresses her loving lyrics! This was one of the best concerts I have ever seen and recommend her highly to anyone considering seeing Roberta Flack in person! Her piano work was amazing and accurate. I am glad I had the opportunity to see a legend who is also so contemporary! Do not miss the opportunity to see ROBERTA!

The New Deal was amazing, but since it was a late night event which followed the Disco Biscuits concert at the Nokia, the show was too short for us. The Disco Biscuits ended at 3, so we got to BB Kings around 3:30ish. That really only gave us a little over an hour to enjoy the New Deal. They should have played more sets so that they could have played until 6 am.

We have been to a lot of Concerts since the mid 70's but have not had the opportunity to see Van Halen live and now it's almost like we have. This Band ROCKS!!! They have assembled the right people for a "Magnificent Tribute" to one of Rock's True Legends. They should be very proud of their accomplishments since it takes real talent to reproduce the music of a World Class act the way they do! Will we go to see them again??? ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT A DOUBT! The whole show was GREAT, what else can be said. Be sure to see them if you have the chance, they're worth every penny!!!!

Badly Drawn Boy

Horizons
For those of us who are familiar with Damon (AKA, Badly Drawn Boy), we know to expect the unexpected! He is a perfectionist and can be moody. (As some have pointed out in other reviews!) However, he is honest and wants to please. I saw him at Lincoln Hall and it was one of the warmest, most touching, accoustic performances I have ever seen. I think Chicago got a little lucky in that he was settled in with the fact that his band could not be with him, and that most of the sound issues were ironed out. The Sound was amazing! That aside, Damon is one of the most beautiful songwriters today. I could sit and listen to him play guitar all night, and that is pretty much what he did. His lyrics came across beautifully with heartfelt meaning in every word. He was compelling. His guitar playing was stellar as well was his voice. It was such an intimate setting with Damon so close. I loved how he interacted with the crowd, asking for requests and sharing stories. He was very "up" and very funny! His comaraderie with Justin Jones (opening act, also very good) was awesome. Justin joined Damon on stage for percussion and that was a nice change of pace. The crowd attending knew Damon and his music and he definitely felt that affection towards him. He gave a lot of himself and in the end did not want to leave. It was a fantastic show that I am still thinking about days later. The song set was extensive. And it appears he's mixing it up each show. Love that! Real fans will really appreciate this tour. It's different from his last outing. And I can't wait for his next!

The band is tight and they know every Clapton song from every era and not just the hits. They do different sets each year which is why some of us keep coming back yearly to see them. Or maybe it's because it's much harder and much, much more expensive to see the original EC play in a stadium or arena. You won't be disappointed in seeing this band play this EC tribute show or any other show they happen to be performing in. BB's is a very nice place to see a show and have some good food and drink. Try getting smothered pork chops at the Garden!

The band has not missed a step in almost 30 years of thrashing. The energy of the band and the crowd was intoxicating. Best show I have seen in years. And one of the best I have every seen. Period.
