Rhett Miller

To quote Saving Silverman: "Rhett Miller is the greatest singer/song writer of this or any generation". I planned a family vaca to see family in NY around this concert weekend (from chicago). Only gave it 4 stars because the Serial Lady Killers (which I guess were called The Believers...) are just not as fun as the Old 97s.

holy... freakin'... wow, just wow. i missed these guys in '93. 21 years later they made up for it. 2 hours, 10 minutes on the stage. 20 songs, no lag. nothing left on the table. though maybe a few too many newer songs than older standbys. but i'm not complaining because the set list was choice. anytime you can see great musicians on a stage like this - the small room upstairs, not the main hall - take it.

We were visiting San Diego from England and booked this show late, but we are so glad that we did, it was wonderful. The performance by the dancers was exquisite and in such a historical theatre. We had never seen this ballet before and based on this performance we will definitely go and see it again. Thank you to everyone involved in its production.

I was having trouble getting into the Christmas spirit until I saw this amazing show. I loved everything about it. My 5 year old nieces were mesmerized. The dancers were not only talented but they had amazing energy onstage! BRAVO!!!

Har Mar Superstar

This was the third time we had seen Har Mar. Second time at the Brighton Music Hall. As always, he puts on a show like no other. His stage presence and voice are truly amazing. It was also cool to hear some new songs from his most recent album. The opening band Sweet Spirit was also really good and I was excited to discover a new band by seeing their live show and digging their music.

Saint Etienne

St Etienne was my soundtrack of later 90s. And just think in hear they pull my skin like a chicken. They played a mix of older anthems with new sound from the last LP. People tuned crazy and for first time in US I saw a 3 encore final. Awesome.

Openers Jason Adamo and Keating Simon were both FANTASTIC! Very different but both great musicians with awesome voices. And of course, Pat and the band are so great. This is a band made of amazing musicians on their own and when they come together...... WOW!!!!!! Al Walsh, Jonathon Williams - these guys have been around since the beginning and you can tell how wll they merge together. Such a great show to be at.

Graham Colton

Colton and his band mates put on a wonderful show laced with his recent and upcoming tunes, well sung and well performed by the fine musicians that took the stage before a crowd that should have been bigger for a performer of this quality. Despite this smallish crowd, Colton greeted the audience with a warm jovial selflessness and admiration. His band mates showed that they are a very competent and knowledgeable group that understood how to entertain an audience, regardless of their number. They were also previewing music from their next release due in February. I can t wait and hopefully this new music and a growing fan base will continue into the future. They definitely deserve to play in stadiums with a larger gathering of followers. The opening act Bascom Hill also played a grand set of their tunes and the overall evening was a joy to behold. The only other time I've seen Graham Colton was earlier in 2010, but that was just acoustic show in support of NeedToBreathe at 1st Avenue. The show at Varsity had a lot more punch.

Death Angel

The local band cancelled last minute. No big deal. Bonded by Blood opened up and got the party started. LaZarus A.D. kept things rolling. Their new CD just happened to be released the day of the concert. Death Angel played until almost 11:30. They had a great mix of songs from 1982 to their current album. The show was amazing. High energy from start to finish. Death Angel does not get the credit that they deserve. I think the Big 4 should share the spotlight with other thrash metal pioneers such as Death Angel, Testament, OverKill, etc. I don't think Death Angel has ever released a questionable album and should be regarded as one of the best and most entertaining thrash metal bands out there. Great show guys! I can't wait for you to come back. I was a little disappointed with the crowd. Too few people there, but then again it was questionable weather and a Tuesday night. Thank you for a great show!
