Killing Heidi

Aussie Rock Pop darlings, KILLING HEIDI, will head out on their first national tour in more than a decade. It’s been twenty years since triple j unearthed the Hooper siblings as Killing Heidi with their disarming folk pop song, ‘Kettle’. The band soon expanded into colourful teenage power pop and burst onto the national and international stage with their breakthrough debut album Reflector, released in March 2000.Anthemic singles ‘Mascara’ and ‘Weir’ made Reflector a blow-out success and cemented the work as one of Australia’s most loved pop albums.

Easily the best show I've ever been to. There were plenty of 10 year anniversary shows this year, but I don't think any of them can compare to the energy in the crowd and on the stage. It was easy to see that the band hasn't lost a beat, and they just enjoyed the hell out of playing again. I'm hopeful this won't be a one time deal and we see a new era of music and shows from the band.

Excellent performance. Lovely set, perfect timing, great singing and a fun story. Studio theatre meant we could see well from any seat and it was nice to be able to see all facial expressions so clearly. Having said that, however, the play would be just as good in a larger venue...the only thing it lacked was a bigger audience. I heard about the play by word of mouth...where was the advertising?

They played an epic sprawling, totally encompassing, thoroughly engrossing, head banging, fast-paced, simply amazing show. Just hope it doesn't take them too long to come back on another tour!

Hilarious! Nice vignettes using letters to major companies ("Dear Epson") and good interaction with the audience, including an outrageous laugher!

I had been waiting to catch these guys live for a long time and they did not disappoint. Came out rocking from the the start and didn't let up until it was over, which was over two hours later. Probably the best rock show of my almost 40 years of seeing them. See them if you get the chance! Mercury Ballroom was the perfect venue as well. Great place

Jenny Owen Youngs

Jenny Owen Youngs' music has a striking dichotomy of assonant guitar parts and mellow vocals coupled with frequently angry, sometimes morbid but always honest lyrics. So it should be no surprise that her performance was covered in F-bombs, and seeming apathy but also a true connection with her audience. Her humor is not for everyone, but if you like obviously intellectual, but stream-of-consciousness (and sometimes incoherent) candidness, you'll love her performance style. Lowly the tree ghost was a bit mechanical in their performance, but was musically interesting at times, flashing some unexpected Irish influences and fun instrumentation including a harmonica and fiddle. The luminous Ashley Brookes Toussant nailed her performance with skillful vocals and insightful lyrics.

This was my first time seeing Great Lake Swimmers live and also my first time visiting The Ark. The Concert exceeded all my expectations. The band was fantastic, they played with such emotion and heart. They were so humble when I met them after the show, what a great group of people. Also venue itself was such a perfect setting, the acoustics of the place were phenomenal and the staff was lovely. I can't wait to see GLS again & visit The Ark!

I've listen to the Books for a few years now and haven't gotten a chance to see them until now. I was honestly worried that they weren't going to be able to reproduce their music live but i was blown away with their performance. They had some computer problems which meant that they couldn't do some of their songs so instead they just improv'd the missing parts on other instruments and it was spectacular. Best time I've had at a show in awhile!

I loved the line up that was not only American Punk Rock bands but also some from the UK. Each band had an amazing sound and show to go with it. The crowd got into the performances with moshing, crowd surffing, and singing along. The end of the tour pranks the bands played on each other made the show unforgetable!

EV always brings great energy to every show I've attended ( 6 years, every year!) his energy is always on point. His interaction with the crowd is unbelievable and he always stays after the show to greet his fans. His hometown shows in L.A (21+ preferably) are always the best! Don't miss out! P.S. his shows sell out quick so dont procrastinate! Oh yeaahh and I've performed with him =)
