Dave Matthews Band

Dave Matthews Band

Formed in Virginia in the early 1990's, Dave Matthews Band quickly developed an intensely loyal, grassroots following intrigued by its eclectic sound and compelling live performances. Today, with 14 million tickets sold, the Grammy Award winning Dave Matthews Band is consistently one of the top draws on the concert circuit. 2005's Stand Up, the group's most recent studio album, was Dave Matthews Band's fourth consecutive studio album to debut at #1 on the Billboard 200. It was followed in 2006 by the band's first-ever retrospective - The Best of What's Around, Vol.

Dave Matthews is such an artist and really gives it his all. It was raining at the event and it was outside. He came on earlier and played and played straight for 3 hours to show the crowd how much he appreciated them staying around, rain or not. His playing and his band are in a class of their own. Unbeatable and with such inate talent that can not be reproduced by anyone. The whole band has such a passion for playing and performing and I will continue to see them when they come back every year.

While my concert experience is admittedly limited, this was by far the best concert I'd been to,, a good 3 times better than when I saw them a few years ago at the same place. This is either in spite of, or because of the rain which invigorated the crowd. Getting to hear The Stone and Halloween and a 20 minute rendition of #41 was almost too much to bear on top of hearing the songs of a great new album.

DMB always put a great show. however, the facility at river band wasn't good. the huge poles are not convenient, you have to stand in one place and are afraid to move around or get a drink b/c you might lose the view. Also, it was storming and horrible weather, and this time DMB were not energetic and they could have encouraged the crowd more, it kinda fell apart, instead of firing people up, the band itself got tired!!!

This may have been one of the best concerts I have ever been to. The weather was fairly calm at the beginning of the concert, but within a half hour, the skies opened up, and let all of us the general admission section have it. I wouldn't have asked for it any other way! The harder it rained, the louder we got, and the louder we got, the harder Dave played. It was an amazing experience I will never forget. I left with a cell phone that no longer worked, and soaked to the bone, but it was worth every minute! Dave, thank you for such an awesome concert!!!

You ve never been to a concert unless you ve seen one in the rain. At least, that was what the 14-year concert-going veteran standing next to me at the Riverbend Music Center said as the Dave Matthews Band took the stage. At first, I wasn t so sure I agreed - it was POURING and my jacket was soaked through. But as Dave and his band sang and played their way through what I m pretty sure was the entire Big Whiskey album, I realized she was right. The warm rain seemed to match the blues/acoustic rock performance perfectly and it definitely didn t cut down on the fun factor. Even when our feet started to stick in the mud, people were still jamming away. It must have been fate that yesterday I was thinking about seeing musical talent in person, because this band has it in spades. Long sections of the performance were wordless jam sessions that displayed the skill of the musicians and had the crowd moving to the beat. One of the encore songs contained a nearly 5-minute long drum solo that was INCREDIBLE to see and, more than that, fun to watch. As the big screens focused on drummer Carter Beauford, you could see his huge grin and knew he was having a great time playing. I think that s a key to any great performance - if the band looks like they re having fun, the audience will too. And this audience was having a blast. People of all types turned out for this show - cowboys, hippies, frat boys, punks, even businessmen - and not one person I saw looked upset about the pelting rain. I think that s because though the band s members may not have lived all their lives in the United States, the music of the Dave Matthews Band is clasically American. It blends the blues-rock of the bayou with the fiddling sounds of country music and lyrics that just about everyone can relate to. I left that show soaked to the bone but on a high from the great experience. If you get a chance to go to a Dave Matthews Band show, I highly recommend it. And if you can, see it in the rain.

I somehow snagged pit tickets for Saturday night and couldn t have asked for a better time. Being so close to the band was great. The people around us were super friendly. The atmosphere was perfection. I m just getting into the DMB scene because of my boyfriend (who s been to 28 shows) but would love to go to more if we had pit every time. Gave the venue 4/5 though because parking was not clearly marked when leaving the venue so we got lost when security was ushering us out. (Never been to that venue before\u2014traveled from Atlanta)

This was easily one of the top 3 concerts I've seen DMB perform. No one brings it like Dave, Carter, Stefan, Tim, Jeff, and Reshawn. Buddy is a great addition on the keyboard. I ve seen Dave over the years, close to a dozen times. Alpine Valley in 1999 was the best show I ve ever seen. This concert lacked the DMB essentials...no violinist, only two horns in the horn section, no lovely ladies....just long, drawn out sets with no energy and excitement...not to mention the lifetime spent in between songs. Dave, you can do better. Tim Reynolds is great though, so you got that going for ya....

Where do I even begin? After going to see DMB in concert you will have little to no interest in seeing really anyone else. I liked Dave Matthews Band in high school ok, but then a few years later a friend took me to see them in concert and I was immediately hooked. Every single band member is incredibly talented, the set lists are always fresh, and Dave really brings total fun and enjoyment to every show, You can really tell they love to perform and the energy is unlike anything you will experience anywhere else. I now use all of my savings and vacation days every summer to go to their shows because it makes me happier than anything else. Thank you Dave Matthews Band - now go get tickets people!!

I have seen Dave and crew so many times since my days in college with my friends from Temple to now taking my kids.. talk about running the gamut! But that's the beauty of DMB.. I had just as much fun in my early 20s as I do now.. great crowd, great show, fun for all :-) I'm not gonna lie.. I was a little worried because I knew they were promoting their new album.. well, WORRY NOT!!! Incredible as always, and I gotta point out the Dawkins jersey sported by Rashawn was such a beautiful nod to Philly and the pride in our most glorious Super Bowl victory lol but seriously, the jam sessions were phenomenal, with even Dave joking at one point that *we got carried away there*... well Dave, we LOVE when you guys get carried away! Play on!!! Amazing experience as always, perfect blend of new songs and old jams.. don't hesitate to buy tix, you will ever be disappointed with DMB :-)

Pulling into the parking lot at Jiffy Lube Live for the Dave Matthews Band concert, it looked like it was going to be a beautiful night. And then the rain began. The concert wound up being delayed an hour and 45 minutes. But by the time DMB got done playing the opener Don t Drink the Water the fans forgot all about the monsoon that happened moments earlier. The energy and sophistication of the music pulled everyone in and the vibe was set. I ve been going to Dave concerts at a minimum of once a year since 2001 (skipped last Summer because the group took it off). I can even sense what song is coming next or identify songs by the very first chord that is struck. I love this group. I couldn t help but notice the glaring difference in several of the songs minus the violin. Boyd Tinsley, who s wrapped up in some serious personal issues, was missing on this night. Warehouse, You might Die Trying and Ants Marching just aren t the same songs without the violin. My suggestion is that a tryout, like the one in the hit movie Rockstar, takes place. There are several tribute bands that are familiar with the material and my guess is that one of them could fill in for now. It s needed BAD! Despite the missing instrument, a mix of selections from the new studio album and old favorites were played and enjoyed by those in attendance. The night was worth it. DMB played well past the curfew for the venue. As Dave put it, Nobody said nothin, so let s just keep playing until the drag us off. The set, when you look back on it, was cut a little short. For the first time in about 30 DMB concerts I ve attended there was no encore. Overall, I d say the concert was OK (by DMB s normal standards and something must be done about the violin being MIA.

Although I loved the concert due in large part to how tight the band is, how awesome Tim Reynolds is and the awesome horn section, the playlist was weak. This was my 4th DMB show and it was by far my least favorite as far as song selection. This was somewhere around my 20th DMB show and they have never disappointed. However it was different because Boyd Tinsley wasnt there, a mainstay of the band his recognizable fiddle playing was missed but filled in nicely by Shaun Ross , Jeff Coffin and the keyboard player. They were all on top of their game and Dave danced the night away. Great set list which included 3 or 4 new songs. We will be back next year, still a great show!

I was so glad to have been up front in the Pit in Austin. I have loved everything about this band since the early 90 s. Their comraderie onstage and off and long history makes their music so much stronger and their improvs. so natural. Dave is amazing as always... like his wine, he is better with age :). They have the most adorable and talented keyboardist Buddy Strong to fill in for the lack of Boyd s violin riffs. Carter, Stefan, Rashawn, Jeff and Tim all seem really happy to be together for the summer :). Lot of smiles and high fives and definitely inside jokes going on in those stage headsets! The new album as always has something for diehard fans, something for new fans, and some things that maybe just mean something to the band and aren t your faves!! Everything sounds good when they play it live! Definitely see them this summer- the feels will carry you through to the next tour!

So, we all know by now that Boyd isn t with the band anymore. I ve been seeing DMB in concert since 2000. I ve been across the country from TX to CO OH OK and 20+ shows. I wasn t sure what it would be like without Boyd. I feel like the band totally ROCKED IT!!! I loved the keyboards! It was an awesome show!

I have been a fan for about 24 of the past 25 years. I have seen the perform at the gorge 10 times, as well as all over the country. My favorite venue to watch them play has always been the gorge! You can just feel that the band is more relaxed and happy! The jams go on a little longer, Dave is a little funnier, and the crowd is on cloud 9! The sets were all awesome (despite the tease of a 2nd encore night 3) and the flute player from Brazil was the best I've ever seen! Everything was magical (including what would you say on my actual birthday), the sound was awesome as always, and truly not a bad seat in house. Thank you DMB for giving us pieces of yourselves, sharing the music, spreading the love, and ROCKING for 25 years! Enjoy your time off guys. Your families deserve to have you back! Peace and much love!

Another great two nights in the books! This time under an awesome sunset over The Greek in Berkeley. First night definitely had a more jazzy groove going on which was incredible. Both nights had intense moments of sound like a locomotive screamin' down a mountain with the ability to stop on a dime and scream on! Beauford was blistering and got some of the best ovations on both nights.

This was my third or fourth time seeing Dave Matthews Band live, and they have rocked my socks once again. I have been seeing DMB live since my first concert ever when I was 10 years old. The show was set to start at 7 PM. My partner and I arrived around 2:30 PM to scope out the venue and check out the status of the line. The line at the Main Entrance was already pretty long, but the South Entrance line was still pretty short. Fortunately, we already had our tickets, so we didn't have to wait at the Box Office! So we hopped in line at the South Entrance and waited. Doors were supposed to open at 5:30 PM, however, they did not open until 6 PM. Once we were in, we claimed a spot in the pit, and the show started just a little after 7 PM. Looking around, there wasn't an empty seat in the house. The venue was packed. The energy was good. Our spot was just a little left of center, right up front. Waiting in line for 3 1/2 hours paid off! We had the best view of Boyd and Dave. Because I'm short, it was hard for me to see the other side of stage, despite being up front. The guys played a killer show. Between the music, the lights, the dancing, the weather, the connection between the band and their fans...I couldn't have asked for a better night. Dave even posed and smiled for me once when he caught me snapping a picture of him. I was an excited little fan girl. I love how the band is all about connecting with their fans. Boyd shook some hands. Carter signed some things and passed out drum sticks at the end. All in all, it was pretty fantastic. They truly do put on the best live show. The only thing I didn't care for, which was a venue issue, was that the venue is supposedly a smoke-free zone. This was pretty valuable to me since I'm 25 weeks pregnant (yes, I waited in line for 3 1/2 hours, and stood in the pit for another 3 hours despite how pregnant I am). But I was disappointed that people were still smoking cigarettes and weed. The cigarette smoking is mainly what bothered me. People were lighting up right in front of the venue staff, and yet they weren't doing anything to stop them.

The concert was good but I really expected more. The solos on guitar and violin are just to long.

This venue was amazing. Of the 16 years, I've seen dmb, this was hands down the best! Also meeting Carter was top notch. Still in awe.

Throughout the decades, Dave Matthews Band has graced South Florida with 2 nights of incredible music. For most, it would seem that the setlist or performance would struggle to maintain the same level, but for this band the quality and diversity has only increased. Having last seen him at this venue in 2002, I watched Saturday night with a crowd just shy of 20,000 for the 2nd night. The comradery was intense interleaving not only the musicianship of a stage full of superb string and horn players, but also a perfect combination of the old and the new, the rare and the popular, with the crowd participation at a level of an army.

dave came out promptly 8:25 it started there progressly expand your mind and soul from there . Boyd was in a different world with his violin, playing clean concise runs that help you get where you going Stephan's Bass was truly the sweet spot Buford's drums and he horns were as usual fantastic Dave lead them thru a magician tour we just were luckie enough to witness it

I have been to several shows over the years, but this was the first indoor one. I sometimes felt that the band was too big for the venue...sound wise. They are soooo great and were great this night as well, but it was often hard to hear the vocals...hardly ever heard Boyd...the mix was good at first but then seemed to go too basey. Seats were outstanding and we were able to walk from our hotel which was great....loved hearing Pig again. Great Dave crowd...into the songs... but again...acoustics were tough. All in all....a great night of Dave music....this band continues to rock it out...amazing musicians they are!

Beautiful view, amazing set list, great time. This is a new venue (Lakeview Ampitheater), so they had a few kinks to work out, but overall we got a great first impression of the Ampitheater. DMB never disappoints- full of energy and talented musicians that put on an awesome show. Their stage presence and lighting effects are excellent.

My first time at Riverbend. It was a constant light rain throughout the whole show, but it wasn't an issue with the astroturf instead of grass. That was great!

Wonderful concert w/DMB! I cannot believe the energy put out by all of these talented musicians....Simply incredible! Could have used a few more video monitors, as our view was blocked often by people on the stairs, but the band was AMAZING. I will go out of my way to see them every time they are anywhere near OKC. <3

Awesome new venue, Project Nightclub within Pier 70. Sound was great and the band, Dave Matthews Band, was amazing as always. The crowd was excited and happy to be there. The only negatives were logistics for entry lines and crowd direction once inside and the lack of bottles of water to purchase. But those things happen with a new venue. Otherwise, great venue, awesome band and good, good times with friends.
