Madea Gets A Job was my 7 year old son's first play, & out fist "date" in the city, & he loved it! I wouldn't have taken him if he didn't enjoy the movies at home. & call me crazy, but I don't think the content is something he should be shielded from. Tyler Perry has a great way of bringing real, everyday issues forward & make you laugh too. I have his plays on dvd, but seeing it live was 2nd to non!! The improv & connection between the cast makes you smile. It's obvious they're a family on the road. My son & I laughed & had a great time. Next time he's in town we'll definately go again!!

Tyler Perry has done it again. You got two shows for the price of one. The play was hilarous and the Musical entertainment afterward was terrifc. I took my daughter 25 and my son 9. It's a play that the entire family can attend and enjoy, no age restriction. I recommend if you want to be throughly entertainment, to please check out "Madea Get a Job.

Outstanding. Tyler is SO talented. This was only second performance anywhere, and it was fabulous. The play was excellent, great music, as usual, as great message. Big suprise at the end made it SO worth the money!

Tyler Perry definitely outdid himself this time...a phenomenal play esp. with many of the players from Madea's Christmas--so much talent. "Hattie" was the best...hilarious! Where he went above and beyond was with the surprise concert at the end...it was like getting 2 shows for the price of 1. Old school jams with a little new school thrown in. I'm definitely filing this one in my memory bank...can't wait to purchase this on DVD. My husband and daughters just can't stop talking about it. You really missed a good one if you didn't get tickets to this!

I attended the Thursday night show of Madea Gets a Job. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Tyler you are awesome and very talented. I am so glad your first stop was in Memphis and we definitely came out to support you. The idea of the mini concert following the play was a great idea. I enjoyed this also. I have never seen a live play before, but if anyone is ever going to go to one TYLER PERRY is THE ONE TO SEE. The players had a great time and were enjoying what they were doing, so we the audience were captured and drawn into the play with them. Hattie was so funny all the players were great. It was the best. I would tell everyone go see this when it comes to your town or ANY Tyler Perry movie. Madea ruled the stage. I simply can not tell you one part that I enjoyed more than any of it, I would not even get up during intermission for fear of missing a part of it. Tyler Perry is a mastermind. It was very well put together. Anytime he comes back to a city near me I will be going would not miss it for the world. Go and see it you will not regret it.

The show was rushed not very organized. The singers were awesome. The concert at the end was well worth the botched up play. There was no depth to the show whatsoever. I could tell that since it was the first show, they still have to iron out the creases. Overall, I would not recommend this play to anyone else.

The play itself was not what I expected, but then I had never been to a Tyler Perry play before. Although the topics covered were real and needed to be said, I guess I expected more Madea. But I must add that the person sitting beside me was so touched by the play, it really opened her eyes to something going on in her life and for that I applaud Mr. Tyler Perry. If you can touch one soul, then the job is done, and that it did. The concert was an added surprise that really blew my mind. It was fantastic! Go Tyler Go... Thank you for an entertaining night.

The play was totally awesome! The story was the bomb! The sound was awesome and the people attending were very excited. The concert after the play was totally like that and some more!!! Tyler Perry is a gifted Man of God. I would love to meet him and pray for more success/riches to be upon him. The bible says; if you're happy for your brother . . . God will richley bless you! My only problem was having the show at the Verizon Center. The Center isn't designed to have plays or musical productions. Many of the women had to really be careful on the stairs. We witnessed a very terrible accident on Saturday.

I have never been to a Tyler Perry play until Saturday the 31st of March. It was the event of my lifetime. The acting was superb!! The moral lessons brought out in the play were enlightening. The singing was out of this world!!!!! We danced, we laughed, we cried, and we laughed hysterically! it was worth every penny I paid. I will never ever forget the experience. My only hope is that I get to see another one again soon! Thank you Tyler Perry for making my year!

This play was amazing in person. The actors and actresses were extremely talented and funny and did what was expected of them except one who could not ad-lib but he was still good. The ending when there was a small concert was amazing and the inspirational message Mr. Perry provided was amazing as well. Had a wonderful time and would definitely watch another Tyler Perry play in person.

The cast was filled with a combination of the oldies and goodies and a touch of new talent never seen before. I feel that there were a couple of characters that the play could have done without. Although I felt that there were too many characters in the play to "show off each character" to the fullest - the Character that my children and I have affectionately named "Fruit Loop" stole the show. The main character in the retirement home was perfectly selected and played her role above and beyond anything imaginable. Not only was her sin'ging steller but her acting was hulariously funny. I truely believe that She could be the next "BIG THING" like Brown, Curtis Payne, Aunt Bam and Floyd. Tyler Perry truely has an eye for talent. The unexpected twist to the hole production was hands down the concert at the end of the show!! All of the cast members did an excellent job and finally got a chance to "Show Off"

All I can say is keep bringing madea back! The play was hilarious,couldn't stop laughing. I will be seeing the play again when it returns in may. loved the old school concert. Didn't know Tyler Perry could sing. The next day I told some of my family members about the play and encouraged them to go see the play. I always go see Tyler Perry's movies but this play was a first for me, it definitely won't be my last. Tyler keep doing what you do you are too good at it to stop.

As a surprise to my wife who is from Europe, it was a "moment of time" of fun, laughter and very entertaining. A "feel good medicine" of laughter through the economic stresses that we face daily. My wife and I are Tyler Perry fans, and thanks to her, we watch more comedy rather than the constant exposeure of Television shows and Movies that exploit the darker sides of the world that we live in. We need more exposure to love, living life, and laughter in which Tyler Perry wonderfully portrays in all of his stage plays.

This was a great play. Madea really makes u laugh into u cry. The whole cast of this play was great, as well as the songs that was song in the play. This play of Madea was the best to me. Tyler did it again. The show was terrific. Great cast, great singing, and a beautiful set. The "bonus" feature given to this audience was off the chain. Tyler didn't have to do this, but he did, for his audience. I would not have expected such a bonus like that. wow!!!!!!!!

my review is way to long will give the condensed version...... i took my mom to get her mind off of her illness she needed some cheering up. well tables turned i'm having huge problems with my son.....feeling like I cant take the stress... tyler spoke out of character about letting God take,over.....i was in tears he kept on for about five min and it was as if he knew my sorrow......left with a full heart.

I finally got the chance to see one of the his plays live! I went to the Sat.matinee show & was just thrilled! I had a great seat & loved every moment! I laughed & laughed I love it when Tyler breaks character & starts busting up! Oh and what a hoot it was watching "late comers" going to their seats, and Madea cracking on them to be on time & get somewhere & seat down lol. Tyler said for those of you that are new, I start my shows on time! 3 o' clock not 3:05 ! Funny as heck! I look forward to his newest movie this summer! And I 'm sorry to hear about the fire at your studio. Thank God no one was hurt!

My family and I went to see "Madea Gets a Job" this past Sunday at the Fox Theater and I must say we all had a great time. Tyler Perry's interaction with the audience and the mini performance after was outstanding. Hard to tell if alot of his performance was scripted or flying by the seam of his dress! Its a great feeling to see when we succeed and come together to support one another in a positive way for a positive message and unforgettable cast!

Tyler Perry is a great person. The Play was funny, serious, and very spiritual. He also gave Inspirational thoughts. In Detroit on the last day he gave an "Old Skool Concert" after the play. It was off the hook . All of the singers were great, Tyler Perry sang some also. My Woman and I had a great time!

(*_*) I live just east of downtown Detroit, and would have loved to have everyone over to my house for a good "home-cooked" meal. It was well worth the flight I took from Southern Pines, NC to Los Angeles to see this play. My sistah and I thoroughly enjoyed the play as well as the "aftertainment". I came away with all the messages of mending family relationships and letting go of anger and resentment. Tyler really speaks to the heartbeat of real America with real life drama and situations. Thank you Mr. Perry and I also want to thank your Mother for your upbringing and the love she bestowed upon you. She gave us a gift and that gift was YOU.

Unless you are close, get the cheap tickets because there is a big screen and you can watch the play on. If you can't see the actors with the naked eye, you might as well play the cheapest price. Also, Get there on time. He starts on time and will talk about you if you are late. Also, if you are there 45 minutes early, you can get food, drinks, and walk around. There is plenty to do and celebrities are always popping up. The first 10 minutes were boring until one special old lady came out and provided the jokes. The singing was excellent. No one cracked or had to down play the high notes. Stick around for the end. Tyler always comes out and talks to the audience.

Chocked full of unforgettable Madea moments, the play seamlessly integrates valuable life lessons for all ages with humor, which makes the "chastisements" more palatable. Between the laughter and self-evaluations, no one can deny that this is one of Mr. Perry's better works of art. The cherry atop this icing covered cake was the mini-concert that allowed the audience further enjoy the incredible vocal talents of the play's actors. Yes, Mr. Perry has done it again, but better!

This play ws so moving. Mr. Tyler always has a smeesage behind his work. And everytime I see a play or movie I am really touched. He knows how to keep you laughing and at times , make a tear or two fall. But Madea Gets A Job was hilarious. And Mr. Tyler is so talented. The play was good! It delivered exactly what we expected; a typical Madea show. I LOVE the ministry the play provides however I would like to see different plots in the future. We love Tyler, but the "daddy isn't there"; "I don't respect my parents"; "baby mama/daddy drama" story lines are dated at this point. I would love to see a transition into other areas where people need healing. I especially enjoyed the gospel themed songs, I was sooo moved by them. And the concert at the end was awesome! Attending a Tyler Perry play has now become tradition in my family. We love getting dressed up and going to "the play" lol. My daughter is now old enough to join in and I'm looking forward to the next one.

This was hands down one of the best productions I have ever been to. We visit the Fox whenever possible and it always has been one of my favorite places to catch a show. The theater is beautiful and the lighting and sound was top notch. Tyler Perry is a great performer and the entire cast should have record deals. And on top of all of that they then performed a mini concert after the show. It was our anniversary and this show made it a night to remember. And as if it couldn't get any better, our seats were about 8 seats across from OPRAH. WOW

I had a blast, I bought my tickets as soon as they went on sale and then I was scheduled for surgery a few days before the play and I was very sad that I would not be able to attend, however my surgeon broke his arm so it was postponed. You would have thought I struck gold I was sooooo happy after the initial shock of not having the surgery. I have never missed a play in 20 years. It really lifted my spirits as they always do Tyler Perry and the entire crew are the best. I have never been disappointed and the bloopers during the play had me laughing hysterically. I was prepared to leave and then the unexpected the musical performance just took me away, I forgot about my back pain and dance and sang along it was absolutely great I don't recall ever getting a after play performance the live band was over the top they were so good that they could just do a concert alone and it would be a hit. Thanks Tyler for sharing your talent your messages of incouragement. I love you...MUAH:):)

As always Tyler does not disappoint. The play is full of hilarious moments, some written in the play and some that Tyler just seems to zoom in upon the moment of their happening. Tyler's knowledge and inspiring messages regarding life and living it, never seem to amaze me. There are always new ah-ha!!! messages that he seems to be able to slip in at the most opportune times in the play. I've loved Tyler Perry's work since I saw the first play and he has never disappointed. He always gives praise and glory to GOD and I love that the most about him. If you haven't seen him in person, PLEASE go see the play, it is well worth the money and he even gives you extras at the end of the play. I'm ready to go see it again. Tyler is phenomenal and humble both at the same time and seeing his play will put you in a glorious mood.

One of the best plays I have seen in years, as a matter of fact 40yrs. All young people need to see this play, and "they need to get their A_ _ 0ut." It was the truth, and every thing was perfect, written well! The concert was dynamite, I have seen all his plays except one because I was in the hospiltal, this was the best one of them all.
