Cactus Pete's Gala Showroom has decent sound, comfy temps, bright lighting and every seat has an unobstructed view of the stage. There's no place to dance, and if you're seated in the middle of a booth, how likely is it you'll ask the strangers on the outside you let you in and out to dance? There is no table service: just one bar in the back with $8 drinks and intermittent service, so be sure you bring your free drink in with you from the casino floor. I'm a fan of revisiting the 80's, and Flock of Seagulls did not disappoint. Only one member is original, but the three newbies play with such energy (and dress in true rock star style!) that you won't even notice. It's a short set, but they played all the hits, and kudos to the drummer: true talent! Little flat: not sure if that's the band or the mix.

Four professional ladies in their 50s and lovers of music drove from Rochester to hear Flock of Seagulls. We remembered a few of their tunes from the 80s and thought what the heck, it was a birthday celebration after all and something to do. We were pleasantly surprised on how awesome these guys were in concert. They had the place rocking. The venue was intimate and the bass player was friendly with the crowd. We thoroughly enjoyed this night and it really made the birthday very special. Thanks FOS!

The audio engineering was amateur. During the performance by Trans-X, the male vocalist's mic wasn't working for the duration of the song "Living on Video". Aside from that, there was a nasty ground-loop hum interspersed throughout the night. Luckily they got the feedback under control during the first act. It would have been nice if they would have had it under control during soundcheck. The worst part of the night, at least to me, was when Bow Wow Wow came onstage with some counterfeit American lead singer that didn't look old enough to have even been born in the 1980s, instead of Annabella Lwin, who was the only reason I came to the concert. After having a conversation with Annabella, I found out she didn't even know about this show!

The show was just fair in my opinion. The audio at the beginning was subpar. They seemed to get it fixed, though I suspect that was an issue with the band on not the Mandalay Bay. Some of the songs I knew and many I did not know. I guess that was my fault for seeing "80's" and remembering the songs I grew up with. With the exception of about 5 songs, most of them weren't memorable to me. The venue was kind of nice in that the beach atomosphere added to the relaxation of what the 80's music was all about (sans the hair bands from the 80's). All in all it was fair, but probably not worth the $35 a ticket (not including the fees).

it was the first time I had been to the renovated Buckhead Theatre. Y'all did an amazing job with the renovation. Loved the show and the meet & greet that followed the concert. I will definitely be returning.

My wife and I saw Him at the Agora Ballroom in Atlanta back in 82 I think after watching the Police across the street at the Fox Theater and I was mezmerized. I went to see him tonight in Atlanta at the Buckhead theater and he was just as good. His voice was nice and out front of the music and the musicianship was very good also. After the show he kindly invited the "hanger arounders" like my self back stage to say hello. What a nice guy. What great music. Thanks for a great night.

Overall, not very good, the bands did not sound good. Some were way too old tyring to act and look young, it was pretty embarassing for them. Disappointing to say the least.

This show was SO jam packed full of stars and good songs! The bands really put their best feet forward to put on a good show for the price.

Great! Wonderful to see and hear them in person. They did a great job! They should get out more and play at different places with small venues, especially to the younger crowds. One thing though, they only came out at 10PM and played for about 30-45 minutes and left and said they would come back. Actually, they didn't return until after midnight, so what is up with that? Also, their DJ was Ok, but he needs a better mix of songs. The Canyon Club was Ok but they have a few things to work on; for one, they need better food & service - they also need to add a variety of drinks, coffees & teas to their bar, not just have hard liquor. All previous reviews were correct about the food - they need better preparation and better chefs. We ordered the spinach dip and it must have been microwaved because the cheese on the top was hard and clumped together into one big ball. We also ordered the veggie lasagna and it was terrible. The Club needs a remodeling facelift and should make all smokers go out back, not in front of the business; smoke trickles into the Club and you have to walk past it as you come and leave.

All the bands were good. When in Rome played their hits, and flock of Seagulls played their hits. Venue was nice, and nice atmosphere and location.

Anticipating seeing Flock was stressful at times because we had to sit through 3 opening bands - the first two being horrendously bad (partly because of the speakers being blown out) and they honestly were not my style and shouldn't be opening for an 80's band, and When In Rome - their sound wasn't as bad, but it just wasn't my style either Finally when I saw Mike Score walk right in front of me and towards the stage, I knew a good night was in store for myself, my friends and everyone there Their sound wasn't tampered with by any blown speakers, and all the band members were playing top notch They performed one of the craziest versions of Telecommunication that I've ever heard I know he performs I Ran just for the fans (he said he "resents making the song" but plays it because he knows "the people want to hear it") but it was still cool to hear Overall it was a damn good show - I hope they'll tour once more around here sometime in the future before he retires

Both bands played very well but I enjoyed When in Rome more. I love When in Rome's lead singer. He was awesome!!! The only thing that I did not like are the 2 front acts. The first band, D, was okay but their songs all sounded the same. The second band with the lady singer was awful. OMG! I wanted to leave but I had to wait for When in Rome & Flock of Seagulls.

Was a fun crowd and great venue. Mike's singing voice is not all there. Maybe just a bad night for him. He is not very personable and very little eye contact. Music was fabulous. Drummer was most enthusiastic. Hard to fake it in such a small space. Overall, glad I saw them.

The concert was nice. Not too thrilled with everyone standing in front of us, but it is what it is. Berlin was really good. Was too tired from all the other adventures we had been on to stay for the whole concert... :)

A bunch of us went to this concert with our floaties and had such a memorable night rocking out with all the bands in the pool. So much fun and so worth the trip to Vegas to see them. I especially loved Berlin, Flock of Eagles well pretty much all of them. I wish you would do this every year!

Wang Chung has been one if my favorite groups of the 80s. Why advertise Wang Chung when the lead singer is not even there?? Sorry but having a person from Cutting Crew sing Wang Chung songs doesn't cut it.

The show is okay for the ticket price. It's pretty much the same band lineup every year, with some minor exceptions. This year they added Annabella Lwin of Bow Wow Wow to the lineup, which is why I went again. They advertised her in 2013, but had someone else sing in her place, so I made sure to confirm with Annabella that she would be there. Unfortunately, they had her perform second out of the eight acts, and I arrived 30 minutes late due to some unforeseen issues, and only heard her sing two and a half songs. As a result of getting there late I also missed Tommy Tutone performing his only hit, but he's there every year, so that didn't matter. Besides Annabella, the same bands were there that are always there: the aforementioned Tommy Tutone (1 song), Nu Shooz (3 songs), Cutting Crew (4 songs, the last of which was a cover of "The One I Love" by REM, and what seemed to be a 5-minute guitar solo that didn't enhance their overall performance at all), Wang Chung (3 songs), Berlin (3 songs), When in Rome UK (2 songs), and A Flock of Seagulls (3 songs instead of the usual 4). Nu Shooz is, of course, not the same genre as the others, but they put on a good performance and the crowd enjoyed it, cheering as much for them as for all of the others. I went to the show specifically to see Annabella Lwin ( and because my daughter wanted me to take her), but her performance was a lot more subdued than I thought it would be, based on her outspoken extrovert personality, usually wild makeup, and photos from past performances. She's the only act in the lineup that I had never seen in concert, so I don't know if she's mellowed with age, as I have, or what. Her hair was shorter than it used to be, and not done -up, conservative makeup, and she sang to pre-recorded accompaniment, with no other musicians on stage. The standout performance of the night was Berlin. This was my third or fourth time seeing them, and Terri Nunn always brings enhusiasm to the stage and seems to always be grateful for the opportunity to perform. She puts everything into it. Her guitarist was very energetic, as well. As always, one has the choice of standing or sitting on the sand, or standing in the water at this venue. I almost always stand in the water the whole time. This year I made the mistake of starting out standing just to the house right side of the stage. The wave pool was generating small waves at regular intervals, so every few seconds a wave would hit my right leg and splash my shorts and shirt. In addition, a group of six or seven guys, two of whom were pretty drunk, filled in the empty space in front of me during the Nu Shooz portion of the show. During his air guitar performances and bad dancing, one of the drunk ones kept obliviously bumping into me (oblivious, or just couldn't care less) because I didn't have enough room to back up, while the other drunk would occasionally throw his arms and some of his beer into the air. After a few minutes of this, my 10 year old daughter and I moved fifty or sixty feet to the house left side of the audience (where the waves don't reach) and enjoyed the remaining couple of hours of the show. Overall, it was enjoyable and the sound technician didn't fall asleep like he or she did until halfway through ABC' first song last year, keeping the intermission music going and not having the band's sound on.

it was great to hear the music and partial bands. Did not like that we had to wait so long after every performer for the next one to start especially when the first two did not have a band and it was karaoke style.

It's a once in a lifetime to watch a concert whilst laying on a beach or swimming in the pool at Mandalay bay. Moon above the stage planes above flying over. Cutting Crew, berlin and my shops were my favourite. Worth every penny the atmosphere was amazing.

Berlin and Cutting crew were fun and had a full band. Many of the bands weren't bands at all... just one or 2 people on stage singing 2 unrecognizable songs (along with their 1 hit) with the "instruments" recorded.

This concert was great - all the groups played three songs that made them famous - Cutting Crew did four songs and were fantastic. This is the second concert that we have been to at the Mandalay Beach - everyone gets a great view for a very reasonable ticket price - they make up for that by charging outrageous prices for drinks and snacks but at least you have the choice to buy or not. After the concert everyone was invited to go to The Foundation Room which is on the top floor of Mandalay Bay for free if you had your ticket stubs. We went - my Wife got the meet and greet with When in Rome so she was over the moon. .

There was too much time between sets. The downtime between sets was longer than the sets which is ridiculous. 3 hours after start time there was only probably 60 minutes of music played. These are not huge acts they should be able to share equipment for 1-3 songs. We bailed after 3 hours which was probably halfway from what it seemed

Flock of Seagulls didn't show at the Niagara Falls Casino. The show is in the Bears Den which only holds about 350 to 400 people it was not sold out but still a good crowd. They played for about 90 minutes so of course played their hits. Nothing fancy with the show just them coming out and playing. No opening band but I was okay with that. They did set up a table afterwards and will sign autographs and take pictures with people. That is a nice thing that they did and it was for free.

This was overall a fun show. Although the audio was bad, the mikes kept going out, and the older artists tend to have lost their audiotune voices... I love Naked Eyes, although they weren't very good, voice was too shaky. Wang Chung and Flock of Seagulls were saved the Best for Last. I could actually comprehend what they were saying, and showed great spirits... Vegas in the Summer...how could you not? And there were no video screens, couldn't see anything because of too many people, some were residents of the hotel, so it was just way overcrowded.. But i had fun..

Overall, the concert was a lot of fun...especially as they played overlooking the Mandalay Bay pool area. Animotion and Wang Chung were definitely the stars of the night, as they should have closed the show - not Flock of Seagulls. I was super excited by the surprise set of When in Rome and "The Promise." I would definitely see another concert at the Mandalay Bay pool.

The show overall was awesome and at the price to see so many groups that i remember hearing as a kid was just great. Other than a few snafu's like trans x no microphone for the whole song and couple other glitches we had a great time on the beach and dancing in the water. Drink prices were ridiculous thought at $14 for a glass of wine and $9 beers.

First the good, The stars of the show were Wang Chung and Flock of Seagulls. They rocked the party. I wish both could have had a longer set. This is my 3rd year at this concert. I'll be back next year. Animotion was high energy and still sound good. Thank goodness When In Rome also played. They are a spectacular band and sound just like they did back in the day; I was thrilled to see they were there even though they were not on the set list. Trans-X had a slight mishap when the lead singers microphone wasn't working. It lasted an entire song but nobody seemed to care. He had the look and the energy and we rocked on anyways. Now the bad. The Flirts? Never heard of them and don't care to hear of them again. Gary Mynick? Same thing. I thought it was amateur night at the Karaoke Palace. The worse? Bow Wow Wow. They've apparently recruited a new singer. Annabella she is not.
