Absolutely incredible! I love Greg Laswell already, so he couldn't fail me, but the venue was perfect and I absolutely loved Elizabeth Ziman!

The night started out with NYC-based band Harper Blynn. I have hear nothing but good things about these guys for months and I'm so glad I finally got to catch them while they were on the road in Boston. Power-pop ballads and slower songs were all in the mix on Thursday night, and the highlight of their set was definitely a hilariously incredible cover of Beyonce's 'Halo'. Greg was up next, and Harper Blynn was his backing band. This was my third time seeing Greg and he has never been a disappointment. This show was no exception to that as he gave the crowd a killer set. Laswell's banter is always a highlight for me; it's almost like getting a concert and a comedy show in one night. Stories of hearing his songs on My Sister's Keeper and other fun tales were sprinkled between his hits and newer songs. An overall awesome night of music. Can't wait to see all of them back in Boston again soon.

Awesome performance by Jimmy, mixing new(ish) songs from his solo album and older faves (Here is the Light & Ran Away to Tell the World). Great set, hope he comes back to The Paradise soon. One of my favorite Boston venues.

The show was great! It was in the small room, so it made it much more of a personal concert. Jimmy Necko was tewrrible, and almost made me want to leave early. But Laswell came on and made me forget anything that was bad. He was so down to earth and sang so beautifully! it was a great show!!!!!

First off, the bowery ballroom concert served as a bit of a homecoming for the NYC native. After an opening act by Jimmy Gnecco, Greg took the stage mixing some of his older material with his new album "Take a Bow". The night was unique in that Greg said that he felt less like he was putting on a show, more like he was just hanging out.

It was another amazing performance by Greg Laswell! This was only my second time seeing him live (first time was at Joe's Pub) and I didn't think it could get any better, but it did! Not only is he a talented song-writer, singer, and musician, but he really knows how to connect to his audience. He sang a mix of old and new songs from his albums and told many funny stories in between. I absolutely love watching him perform and listening to his music, but I think what I like best about him is his sense of humor. He always seems to get the audience laughing with him. His fan base ranges in age from teenagers to middle-aged men and women. I actually brought my husband and our two teenagers to the show and we all had a great time. The only negative was that doors opened at 7:30 PM and Greg didn't go on until 10:30 PM after making us stand through two 1 hour each long opening acts. My family and I were not big fans of the second act, Jimmy Gnecco.

Greg Laswell at the Bowery Ballroom was simply wonderful. The fact that now he is touring with a band makes his sound more dynamic. What adds even more to the show is his personality. You go to the concert thinking u're going strictly there for the music...WRONG..lol u're also getting a sort of comedic experience because he's so funny and charming and it transferred into the audience. He was joking with us and we were joking with him. By the end of the night it felt like a group of friends listening to friend, who's extremely musically talented, play his music as opposed to fans listening to an artist. Great show! I will NEVER forget it.

The show at Bowery Ballroom opened with Brian Wright asking the audience to sing "You Are My Sunshine". It changed the atmosphere in the building and had everyone smiling. Plus we even sounded good. Mr. Wright continued to play a wonderful set both solo and with fellow musicians that also play with Greg Laswell. Brian Wright has a really nice voice, good tone, easy manner, and his storytelling songs have a taste of the South. After a very short intermission, we were delighted by the music of Jimmy Gnecco, who you may know as the front man for OURS. If you haven't heard him, you don't know what you're missing. He has the most amazing vocal abilities as well as being a great songwriter and musician. He was accompanied by some of the members from OURS periodically as well as Greg Laswell's band. Jimmy also performed some beautiful, moving songs solo. This was my first time seeing Greg Laswell. He and his band completely won me over. He has a great sense of humor, good stage presence, is an accomplished musician and has some great songs. He and his band, which included Brian Wright, a young lady named Collette on cello, a bassist and drummer, had an easy camaraderie which overflowed into the audience. At one point, Greg stated that he felt he wasn't doing a show anymore, but more like we were all just hanging out. At that, the crowd applauded and screamed. They did a long set and then came out to perform several more songs for the encore. We in the audience didn't want the night to end.

pretty much everything about this show was amazing: the audience, the staff at the bowery, and most of all, greg himself. the first opener was great, but the second one really wasn't my taste. i was getting that same vibe from many people around me. however, mr. laswell made up for it by putting on one of the most wonderful shows i've ever been to.

Greg Laswell and his band are talented artists and I love their music. The venue was a disappointment, however. The sound quality was horrific at the 7th Street Entry. My friend and I were sad that Greg didn't go on until 11:30 pm also and his show seemed to be over too quickly. Greg deserves a better venue. This place didn't do his music justice.

Bought tickets to see Greg Laswell at Cafe 939. David Ryan Harris was added to show after we purchased the tickets. How lucky for us! David's music was eclectic, dynamic, and heartfelt. His vocal range was awesome and we loved all his stories in between songs. Very entertaining. Also appreciated that he asked the audience to sit down otherwise we wouldn't have been able to see him! Very intimate and memorable show.

Do your self a favor and go see David Ryan Harris solo. Great singe songwriter whom I have followed since his days with Follow For Now and Brand New Immortals. Didn't stick around for Greg Laswell's entire set since I attended mainly to see DRH but he was decent in the 6 songs I stuck around for.

Stripped-down, unplugged, and intimate evening with Greg. Totally different experience than seeing him with a band, but just as emotionally powerful. Great mix of old stuff, recent covers, and new songs coming out on his brand new album dropping in May.

The rain did not keep people away from the Red Room at Cafe 939 on Tuesday night. It was a packed house for Greg Laswell and David Ryan Harris show earlier this week. I ve been meaning to see these guys for some time now and I was thrilled to finally catch a set from both of them\u2026at the same time! After playing earlier this month, this show marked the end of Greg Laswell s solo mini-residency at the Red Room. The night started out with a great set from David Ryan Harris. Aside from being one of John Mayer s guitarists, DRH is a phenomenal singer (he has a ridiculous range\u2026) and is also quite the comic. The atmosphere was relaxed throughout the entire set as most of the audience was sitting on the floor giving DRH s performance a laid-back feel. One of the highlights of the show for me was Pretty Girl DRH managed to sneak in a little bit of Marvin Gaye s Let s Get it On and John Mayer s Your Body is a Wonderland in there for a fun medley. After that, the crowd was ready to sing-a-long with his new song Can We Get Down which I loved. One of his last songs, Still Be Loving You , hit a personal note with me and as soon as it s released it s going straight to my iPod. Overall, it was an awesome set from DRH and I m anticipating seeing him (hopefully) again soon! Next up was Greg Laswell, who I mostly know from his song placements on Grey s Anatomy and some commercials here and there. Greg put me at ease right from the start with his mellow demeanor. A few songs that I was happy to hear were How the Day Sounds , Comes and Goes and Sing, Theresa Says . I was also glad Greg played Come Undone which I recognized from the commercial for Friday Night Lights. Though the music was fantastic, I also loved Greg s in-between song banter, it was some of the best I ve heard in a long time. I ll never say no to music and comedy in one night. My personal favorite was his story about having to learn how to sing one of his songs backwards for his latest music video shoot he even sang it for us. To close things out, Greg gave us a killer version of Amazing Grace which surprised me but I really enjoyed it. There s no doubt that when Greg s performing, ears and eyes are all on him.

Show was in a nice little venue. It was a very low key sort of show. Mr. Laswell focused more on his slower songs and played several slower, acoustic versions of the more upbeat tracks. He had a great stage presence and was quick to tell a joke or story between songs. Overall, it was a very enjoyable show and Misty Boice did a good job backing him up. Also, his guitar and cello accompaniments were awesome.

...and that's a good thing! Very entertaining. Good set list with a healthy dose of the new album mixed with some older tracks. Closed the show with an acoustic version of the song "Landline" with his wife, musician Ingrid Michaelson, which was great (you could hear a pin drop, everyone in the audience remained quiet).

Greg Laswell is one of the most talented musicians around, and he proves it every time I see him live. Not only does he sound great, but his stage presence is outstanding. He cracks jokes between songs, opens up to the audience to tell stories, and really makes a connection with everyone there. This show in particular, he played a good mix of old and new songs, and played for almost 2 hours. Not to mention he brought along a cello player and the talented Elizabeth of Elizabeth & The Catapult. I would recommend that everyone see at least one Greg Laswell show in their life. He is the best.

Brighton Music Hall was a great venue: spacious, not overcrowded, and nice and airy, considering that it was a rather warm night. Great and friendly bartenders. And of course, the show was incredible. Elizabeth and the Catapult was a fitting opening act and gave a really solid performance. And Greg Laswell was great at working the crowd - the music was great all round. I had an awesome time.

Every note, every chord, every line of prose was brilliantly executed by Greg Laswell and his band, Harper Blynn. I have to admit, I'm not usually much for opening acts, but these guys (Harper Blynn) were incredible! It took me all of about three songs to be sold on buying both of their albums. They have a talent that is rare to find in the music scene today. Definitely recommend Harper Blynn for anyone who hasn't heard of them. Greg Laswell, of course, brought his usual A-game to the stage. His voice soared perfectly over the melodies. No matter who was in the audience, you felt what he wanted you to feel. He's an outstanding musician that deserves all the fame he can possibly attain. Don't EVER miss him when he comes back to Denver. He's truly an inimitable force in music today. A very, very solid A+++!!

This was my second time seeing Greg Laswell in concert and he puts on a great show. He played songs from all of his 3 albums and told some funny anecdotes in between. He also has a good sense of humor about the audience and was willing to take pictures and sign autographs after the show. I'm giving the show 4 out of 5 stars just because he didn't play as many songs as he did when I saw him perform last spring. If you are a fan of his music, go see him live! Also enjoyed the opening act Harper Blynn. They do an awesome cover of Halo.

Harper Blynne, opening band and house band for the rest of the evening, were amazing! Serious skills in songwriting, guitar and drums. Rad vocals. Would definitely see again and buy CD. Carey Brothers.... kind of boring. Yawned a lot during this performance. Has a potty mouth. Greg Laswell - never, ever disappoints. Wonderful show. My only complaint was that the sound was so loud that I could barely hear the vocals. For such a small venue, there's no need to blast it. Everyone around me was holding at least one ear shut several times throughout the night. It would be much more enjoyable if we could hear everything rather than it melding into one cacophony.

Never heard of Haper Blynn but they were incredible. Rocked the house and provided great support throughout the night. Didn't much care for Cary Brothers. Greg Laswell is my new obsession. After a long laboring country influenced set by Greg's lead guitar player, and a far-too long set by Jimmy Gnecco (who sings brilliantly, sort of Bono-esque with greater range), Greg came on stage while some folks sitting in their chairs were shaking off sleep. Lucky for us, Greg was fantastic, opening up with "Off I Go" and then driving into "That it Moves" which was like a drug to those of us who have slow-danced with our partners to 3 Flights From Alto Nido. He went into "Take Everything" which really rocked out. He did a kick ass solo set which included the very weird version of Girls Just Want to Have Fun (would've been nice if he had picked "Women's Work" from Covers instead) and one of my faves, Comes and Goes (in waves). Would've like to have heard "Its been a year" as well, but I say that within the following context: this was my favorite show of the year. One can feel free to indulge in the emotion in the songs because Greg injects a great deal of levity into the show with humor. Greg is funny and personable with the audience, and even dealt with a crazy patron with finesse and charm...even if temporarily forgetting the lyrics. This will be the first of many shows for me. Highly reccomend it for anyone.

GL was, is and always will be great! BUT starting at 11pm during the week? C'mon! GL's audience does not consist of young college kids who can sleep in the next day... I got home by 1:30am.... totally sleepy today... leaves a bad taste of the show. Also, the first opening act was great, fits perfectly to the sound of GL! But the second? Jesus! I had two friends with me who left before GL even got on stage. People I was surrounded by were not amused either by the late appearance of GL and especially the second opening act. Complains everywhere... that just ruined the night we were looking for so long! Too bad.
