On Your Feet! (Chicago)

Wasn't sure what to expect but loved every minute. Such a great story, music and energy. My 80 year old mom and 12 year old daughter loved it too. My daughter especially loved dancing with the cast when they came into the audience. Very well done show! Highly recommend

The musical takes you through the story of two go-getters, Emilio & Gloria who worked hard to accomplish their dream! Emotional and therapeutic! On Your Feet!

I am a huge Broadway In Chicago fan and organize groups of friends to shows which have included Hamilton. I receive lots of emails, which sometimes include codes for discounts on tickets. This is what happened with this show. I had to make a trip to Chicago and centered it around my discount tickets to the Thursday matinee and brought along my husband. We went there expecting some good music because we were familiar with Gloria Estefan s body of work, but I must say we got far more than we bargained for. The show absolutely blew us away! We enjoyed the singing and story telling and the dancing was the icing on the cake. I felt like this was DWTS meets Broadway. During intermission all those around us could not stop raving about how good this show was. I especially enjoyed the young male performer. His singing and dancing were standouts. I know the show ends, shortly, and I m already looking for discount tickets to come again and bring my granddaughter. I ve already recommended this to all my friends and it s a show I highly recommend for any from eight to eighty!

I had always loved Gloria Estefan's music. But I wasn't expecting much going to see this show. It was amazing. Great fun and nostalgia. All the cast were great. Well done concept. You will not be disappointed with this show.

We enjoyed this show so much. It was great to learn the story of Gloria and Emilio Estefan. The show was humorous too and the music was great. The Bar Mitzvah scene was the best!!

The play was wonderful! i loved the way it appealed to a Hispanic crowd as well. The lights and the full band made you feel like you were at a concert not sitting in a theater. All of the actors were outstanding. I love the way they incorporated the crowd at the end. I would highly recommend this play and would go see it again if i had the chance!

An absolutely outstanding production! The energy throughout the entire show was amazing. Outstanding dancing, acting, music and the vocals were perfection. Everyone and especially the lead performers are crazy good. The story was very engaging and we lost all sense of time. This was one of the best musicals we have seen lately. Certainly we loved Hamilton and Beautiful and others - but we actually liked this one better based on pace, talent, quality and the overall entertainment experience. Highly recommended! You will be sorry if you miss it!

Went to go see "Get On Your Feet" on Saturday night, March 24, 2018. Let's just say it's not "Jersey Boys" or "Beautiful". I was bothered by numerous things. I think my biggest criticism is that just lacked overall creativity, from the script (full of cliches and uninspired dialogue), to the sets (which were among the least imaginative I've ever seen for a big show), to the costuming (Gloria's look barely evolves from the time she's a teen to the time she's a star). Thankfully, the exuberance of the songs and the performances made it ok.

Terrific Show....one of the best I have seen in years. I would recommend to all ages. I am going back to see it a second time. Great cast....great story...great music

Amazing! I saw this 3 years ago and loved it. I brought my husband this time, and he said it was the best play he has ever seen. This play beat out Jersey Boys! Absolutely a beautiful love story, great songs, fabulous orchestra. Usually, I find 2 1/2 hours for a play is too long. The time flew by for me. I've been on the internet reading everything I could about Gloria Estafan. Go see it.....I promise you won't be disappointed.

The sets were terrific and the music lively and uplifting. Sound system was great even up in the cheap seats. Definitely recommend to anyone who loves Gloria Estefan music.

The boldly told personal story of Gloria/Amelio Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine was well told through music and simple staging. The actors/singers/dancers were outstanding. The show was truly mesmerizing; the cast and musicians fabulous. Time passed swiftly as you enjoyed the music as it wove their story. Abuela was an unexpected delight. Her talent and personality shown through the acting; her flair was magical! The younger Amerlio played by Kevin Tellez showcased his dance skills which were truly delightful! Within the show, as the concerts were performed, you became a member of the cast. Audience participation made the experience even more amazing! If you haven't seen this show...GO. This is one you don't want to miss!

Best play I ve ever seen. I went to see it twice and it s not like me to ever do that. The actors were great and music was awesome. I highly recommend it!

Great show and great energy! Dancing and music was fantastic!

The story was interesting even though we knew a lot of the details. The injection of humor into the dialog was great. There were more smiles and laughs than I expected. The vocals were excellent!

High energy, wonderful music and superb dancing. A good tribute to Gloria E and her talented husband and desire to succeed against all odds.

We all ❤️ The story of Gloria & Emilio Estefan, but finding it especially poignant now. When Emilio's line comes something like this "Look at me, This IS the face of an American" burst of applause !

Good casual show. It's not a grandiose show but you would enjoy if you take it easy and if you lower your expectations... I've noticed that a few people did not return to their seats after the intermission....

What a fun way to spend an afternoon. The music, singing, dancing were great as were the costumes and the acting. If you are a fan of Gloria Estefan, I would definitely recommend this show. I laughed, I cried, and at the end we were all able to get up and move. Such fun!

This show was possibly the best I have ever seen. It hit me on so many levels. The music touched my soul. The dancing was beyond amazing. Such a positive message with fire and spirit. It made me proud to be an American again. The Sound Machine in back thundered with such power. Gloria and Emilio are true American Treasures!!!

Went to see On Your Feet with some friends. It was a energetic show filled with lots of fabulous music and some great dancing. Lots of talent in the cast from abuello to Gloria. See it while you can if you re a fan of musicals

Get on your feet was absolutely amazing! I am a Gloria Estefan fan but it had been some time since I had listened to her albums so what a treat to hear and see so many of her songs performed in such heart felt true emotion! I learned a lot I did not know about Gloria's life and was hurting for her at moments but then was ready to get up and dance with her. I loved the Latin culture and flavor in it, she truly was the first one to "crossover" in the 80's before the wave that came in the late 90's I enjoyed the show so much I saw it twice! And since have pulled out my old Gloria Albums and have been enjoying her music.

Superb show and performance. I was very impressed with the staff at Cadillac Palace and the play was just awesome. I really enjoyed it.

This show is much more than a story about Gloria Estefan. It's about the Cuban History and the changes in the music industry. This is all told by singing and dancing. By the end of the show every single audience member was standing and dancing. I've never seen an ending as exciting!

I had high expectations for this show, and they were met!

We expected more of their songs. Instead, we got more of their life's story. Which is OK, if that is what you expected. We didn't. Lively production with very talented dancers.

I thought the play started off a little slow, but wow! It picked up speed fast. Great music, colorful costumes, fantastic dancing. I especially liked the song "When Someone Comes into Your Life," which I think was performed by Jason Martinez. He was amazing.

Overall great show. It went to all events that Gloria encountered through out her life.My wife likes dance shows and this one really went all out.

Great telling of the story, very nice detail on key aspects. Cast was incredibly talented, so the vocals and the choreography were spot-on, absolutely enthralling! I believe the cast here might even sound better than the Broadway cast CD I purchased after the show. My wife and I had a fantastic time, and we would definitely go back to see it again if there is a return engagement in Chicago.

This is not high theatre, but it's not trying to be. It's simply entertaining. The choreography is spectacular and the music is moving. Along with all the Broadway glitz there is also a moving story line and a dramatic second act. Gloria fan or not, this is a fun evening.

Wonderful show, great music, terrific staging, awesome costumes and sets. The entire performance will get you tapping your feet to the music. I thoroughly enjoyed the show and story on the life of Gloria Estefan.

This show was extremely professional, the dancing and singing was first class - in time and in tune. An unusual tale well done. The quality of this show is such that this should be on Broadway or in London. Cannot understand why the theatre was so empty.

I wanted to take my extremely conservative mother to a broadway musical and took a chance after reading a few reviews of On Your Feet. I was extremely impressed that there were only a handful of swear words (no f-bombs) and no questionable violence, sex, or drug scenes that tend to find their way into every form of adult entertainment. It was an uplifting, upbeat, incredibly fun evening with an inspiring story line. I highly recommend this show and would watch it again in a heartbeat if I could!!

Get On Your Feet was entertaining but the first act dragged... The vocals were good but not pristine. The staging and set were lackluster Those who love dancing may love this show.

I was thrilled to see this play because of its social and musical value. I think that people do not remember their family's emigration stories, which are so important in these times. I went with a friend who emigrated himself, and there were several times that he got emotional. Gloria and Emilio are definitely fighters living their dreams for themselves and the Latino music community here in the United States. Their struggle is just one such case that has acheived great results and great notoriety.

I grew up in the 80s and connected with music. I took my 8 and 10 year old sons and they also enjoyed it. Lively and touching. A fun night out! I would see it again.

Great story about how Gloria got started with Miami Sound Machine. Brush up on your Spanish and bring some kleenex! Some parts of her life were skipped over (getting married and starting a family) but you can figure it out. The music and dancing were great!

I had heard really good things about this show, but I was blown away by how good it is. It's fun, emotional, and the cast is amazingly talented! Taking a real life story of such a famous family and revealing things about their early struggles was really eye opening. I loved it! The music is fun and they incorporate the songs and lyrics perfectly into the storyline. I am telling everyone I know to go see this show. You leave with a smile on your face for sure!

Well done show & very entertaining. Great cast! Although donations are important, I HATE being asked after a special event like this. Not a nice way to end an enjoyable evening. I resent being asked to give give give to any cause when I m out at these types of performances. Bad taste no matter how good the intention is.

The whole family went ages 7-43. We loved it and would recommend it for all ages.

Exactly what you would want from a show like this/ Loads of great music (skip it if you don't like latin music), high energy dance routines and enough story to make the characters real with excellent performances all around.

AMAZING! I left in a upbeat mood and not only was it a musical, but at the end you really get a mini concert. I was transported back to the days of the Miami Sound Machine.

This musical was amazing! The energy was on full blast the whole time and I couldn't stop moving! The second act had me in tears but then it closed with a wonderful medley of all of Gloria's hits. I recommend this to anyone!
