Big Wreck

BIG WRECK IN CONCERT:Beloved hard rockers Big Wreck have been bringing the ruckus since 1994, with no signs of slowing down. The band possesses a dynamic sound that can shift from hard rock to anthemic post-grunge all while still staying true to their unique style. At their live shows the band tears through popular tunes like "The Oaf (My Luck Is Wasted)" and the No. 1 smash hit "Albatross" alongside material from 2014's Ghosts with reckless abandon.

The Foundry was a cool club. The Fillmore made us stand outdoors for the VIP for an hour (30 mins past the time the band told us to be there- of course they blamed it on the band). Big Wreck was awesome and the M&G Great! We were told by someone (was he with the Foundry) to get there 15 minute before doors and we would get in early bc of our "VIP" status. lol Of course, that was not true- at 15 minutes after doors we got in. Butt ass cold- maybe the foundry should get the Fillmore to treat their patrons better. Big Wreck was stellar and there is nothing they could do wrong. Philly- get your shit together and quit doing things that are against the best interest of the prosperity and happiness of what could be a good city. (Just damn happy I was not there last night after the Super Bowl win- eating horse crap is pretty low. Hotel Monaco down by the Liberty Bell was great as well! All the people were pretty nice. Revolutions Bowl sucked and Campos was the bomb!

An awesome show by one of my favorite bands. They killed it and the crowd showed their appreciation for the amazing talent they were witness to. I have waited for a long time to see these guys and I'm glad they came to NYC. I have been a fan since the first album in the 90's, and I think the albums just keep getting better. If you liked That Song and The Oaf, check out the three newer albums as they don't disappoint, while showing a more modern sound. See Big Wreck if you can. Kick Ass Rock.

This was my 6th time seeing Big Wreck in the past year and this is one to be remembered! The Shelter is a small, intimate room and there was only about 200 people there for this show. The stage is only 10"-12" high and no barrier so the crowd is right in front of the band. Ian stated that this was the first time in many years where they performed this close to the fans so a rare opportunity for us (not so for the band). The only reason I didn't give this show 5 stars is because the bands new sound tech did a terrible job mixing the show! It wasn't as bad as the night before in Buffalo but still bad enough! I was a Tour Mngr/FOH engineer for many years and know what I'm talking about! A band that's as musically intricate (3 guitars, 3 part harmonies) as BW needs an experienced soundman who will "take pride" in mixing them by highlighting all the nuances of the music! The mix was so compressed, to the point where you think BW is a band with 1 guitar player and no vocal harmonies. You can tell he wasn't familiar with the bands repertoire because lead breaks were missed and harmonies not emphasized, a damn shame!

Big Wreck is such an incredible, yet not well-known band. Band leader Ian Thornley has it all: excellent song writing, amazing guitar licks, outstanding rock voice, good looks, plus a great band! The Foundry is a cool, intimate venue to see a show. Although I have been a fan of Big Wreck for about six years, they have rarely come to this area of the United States. This was only the second time I ve seen the band and it was great! One previous show at the Grammercy Theater in New York had a much bigger crowd. Although I was happy for the intimate venue, I am sad that the show wasn t sold out! This band deserves more critical acclaim, radio play and fan attendance. There were five of us and we all loved the show!

Unforgettable performance, great setlist. This band should be much much more popular than they are.

One of the best rock bands ever- singing, playing and songwriting on the highest level. At different times beautiful, heavy, delicate, trippy, bluesy, emotional, fiery. Always inspiring! The crowd and band fed off of each other, and the sound and venue were great.

Big Wreck clearly doesn't hit New York very often and that is a shame. They are one of the most underrated rock bands in recent memory. Their music is phenomenal and seeing them live is a must. Do not miss them!

Brig Wreck was incredible. They put on an awesome show. Sound level was great, view from seating was great. Less than thrilled with security at the Danforth. Obnoxious jerks stood next to us in the aisle through the entire show - in the mezzanine section - had to listen to their drunk babble, and be accosted when we left our seats.

My first BW show and what a great show it was. The band were tight, a sonic boom of sound. The 3 guitars meshed seamlessly, the rhythm section provided a great foundation and Thornley is a superstar, plain and simple. I found the sound to be a bit off at the start but it got ironed out by song 3 in the set. The lighting was outstanding as well. Big Wreck are just a fantastic live band and I can't wait to see them again a.s.a.p. I am just sorry it took me this long to get to see them live. Highly recommended.

I enjoyed the show but the I will never go back to that venue. Had VIP and received an email and a phone call with instructions which was great. When I got to the CE Centre the doors were locked, someone let me in and the box office where I was instructed to get my tix was nowhere to be found. When I asked someone in the admin office, they brushed me off. Security demanded we check our coats, so we lined up to do this but coatcheck wasn't ready for us - we had to wait 20 mins before they started collecting coats. AND we had to pay for each coat...5 coats (using two coat hangers) $15. Ridiculous. This make-shift coatcheck also blocked off access to the mens washroom. Asked security where my friend could go to the washroom and was told "wish I could help you" ...seriously? You could help by letting him get to a washroom. Horrible attitudes from staff and security. After all that the concert was good. TOAD plays their new stuff really well but was a little disappointed with the older stuff (exception being "Nothing Could Come Between Us") Big Wreck played the songs I wanted to hear. It was so much louder than TOAD, the bass was awesome. The last few songs had long instrumentals in the middle. Very talented but it got a little boring towards the end. Just my opinion.
