Emily King

EMILY KING IN CONCERT:A singular talent among singer-songwriters, Emily King fuses R&B, soul, and jazz to create a sound all her own. Rocking a fauxhawk bouffant and a watercolor-painted guitar, King always impresses with her inimitable style and vocal prowess. From the romantic down-tempo track "Every Part" to her '70s throwback tune "Distance", King proves her sound is diverse as ever, and fans can hear it on full display as she warms up the stage for Sara Bareilles on a number of tour dates.  BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT: Born in Manhattan, Emily King was inspired by her singing parents at an early age, often going on tour with them as they performed throughout the states.

This woman is easily one of the best performers in the game right now. Her first album years ago was rightfully nominated for a Grammy, but things have only gone uphill from there. Her Seven EP is genuinely mindblowing and her new, most recent album The Switch is an absolute MUST for anyone who genuinely appreciates good quality music. As a LONG time fan of Emily's, I knew I was going to love this show regardless, but I was EXTREMELY taken aback by what an astounding performer she is. I'd seen Jaime Woods, the opening act, a few weeks ago at her own EP release party and I can say that never in my life have I seen an opener and headlining act compliment each other so perfectly....it definitely says something that Jaime was a vocalist during Emily's entire set too! They are two beautiful sides of the same coin and I could not have been happier. I knew Emily's music as that go-to, in-my-head-with-my-feelings-and-I-just-want-something-chill-and-brilliantly-thought-through type of music (as many I'm sure do...haha), but when she first came out, guns blazing to Good Friend, she IMMEDIATELY set the tone for the night. My best friend came to the show with me and after her very first song, she turned to me and said "this woman just out-Beatles'd the Beatles! WHAAAAT!?" I legitimately could not have been happier nor more thoroughly impressed. INCREDIBLY happy to say that I support this woman musically and I think everyone could seriously benefit from both her EPs/albums as well as her live performances so like the title says, do yourself a favor and GO SEE EMILY KING.

Hands down, this show was amazing! Emily gave us her all and did a awesome number of songs. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire show from start to finish, including her opening act (whom by the way was Jaime Woods who is also her backup singer). Not only is Emily musically talented, but her personality is golden and shines through. I'm SO glad I bought my ticket early as it was sold out and rightfully so. If she is touring in your city- GO!

Emily King was truly amazing! It was my first concert that I've been to, and I couldn't have been more pleased with her performance. Doors opened at 8, and the opening act came on around 8:30/9. Emily King came out at least 20 minutes after the opening act, since the stage still had to be set up. I got there early, and was able to stand pretty close to the stage and get some really clear shots/videos of Emily. The show lasted about half an hour, and it was truly a great show. She did a dance with her backup singer, Jaime Woods, and was really personal/talkative throughout the show.

I am tired of standing room only shows. But I will see Emily King no matter what. Every time I see her she blows me away! The sound was amazing. I could see her from anywhere I stood in the music hall. Her energy is amazing. Definitely recommend checking out her shows.

Saw Emily King and band perform at The Shelter in Detroit. They are amazing!! She sounds great, the band is great! She does not get radio play in my area. I discovered her on Spotify in 2015 and have been a fan ever since. Her music is from the geart and not written by someone turning out hits fir big box recording artist. If you enjoy authenticity, soulful, and beautiful music go see Emily King and buy all 3 albums

Emily King's performance was outstanding, but the sound at Brighton Music Hall was atrocious\u2014one of the worst sounding shows I've ever been to. It was way too loud for both groups, so loud that I almost left, and the acoustic numbers rang with feedback. I was standing near the board, and the jockey just sat there while the acoustic sounded terrible. I will never go to a Brighton Music Hall show again. The best thing about the venue is that they sold earplugs.

Emily King returned to Brooklyn in style, grace, and unrelenting spirit when she played with her band Friday, July 15th at Music Hall in Williamsburg. Her music and playfulness on stage is why the entire audience felt like it was more of an intimate but energetic dialogue than just a concert. Emily and her ensemble are a force to be reckoned with.

Emily THE KING's shows are always A+++ from top to bottom. She's such an artist in every sense of the word who has mastered her voice, her guitar, her grooves, and her showwomanship. Her energy is an infectious and pure combination of joy and fly throwback soul!! Her band is extraordinary as well! Every every bass line, drum beat, guitar solo and unforgettable backup vocal was impeccable. They rocked the house with a killer show that left everyone wanting more. I can't wait until the next show! Do yourself a favor and don't miss this experience!

This felt like the perfect moment of a new artist coming to find her voice, in an A+ performance, fed by an audience that intimately loved her work, and seeing her have her first big set. The energy was insane. She gave us energy and we gave it right back. She was a combo of loose and chill and joyous and ebullient. She was JOY onstage NO irony or sarcasm and I loved loved loved it. You have to see her live. a Mixture of Janelle Monae, light jazz, and James brown baby!

Second time I've seen Emily King live, and no less awed by the experience. Still glad I'm able to catch her at a more intimate venue. She also had an amazing opening act too, who happened to also be her backup vocalist - Jaime Woods is her name.

She's one of those rare acts that I selfishly hope won't get too big, just so I can continue to see her at reasonably sized venues. With that in mind, she has all the makings of a true star. I will catch her every time she's in town. Jaime Woods (the opener) was amazing as well.

I ordered these tickets for a friend who stated a few weeks prior that he would love to see Emily King live. I had never heard of her and was a bit wary, wasn't sure I would enjoy myself. From door to door and I mean from the time we walked in until the time we walked out I enjoyed myself. The doorman was friendly. The bartender did a great job with my favorite drink: kamikaze. The place although an intimate setting and was filled to capacity, I didn't feel packed like a sardine. The performance was jaw dropping. I never heard one of her songs but almost felt like I could sing along. Her rendition of some classic songs were amazing. Her voice is a soulful mix Of jazz and folk. Don't let her mousy speaking voice fool you, what comes out when she sings is a beast! I became a fan shortly after Emily began!

Overall show was great. She's such a lovely spirit and a pleasure to see and hear. I love the intamacy of this venue. She is worth far more than the $10 I paid. My only critique would be that the show was rather short. What can you expect for $10 though. The other would be since Emily is so soft spoken and her singing voice alike. They should have up'd her mic a bit. Great performer! Wish more people knew who she was!!
