I was truly at awe - Natasha's voice is absolutely amazing live. Plays the piano and dances around on stage. Her show really exceeded expectations and stayed in my head for days after.

!!!!!!!! Wow..... Natasha not only creates the perfect environment for her music, but she performs it flawlessly. I wasn't sure what to expect live, but she was on pitch all night and sending chills down my spine with her ethereal vocals. The band was spot on with supporting vocals and the drum's were amazing. Also, The lighting and sound management contributed a lot to the show. The highlight of the show for me was Siren Song with the drums and lights pulsing in unison while Natasha s passionate vocals rang out with ghostly timber. The venue was alright, I stood right in front near the piano for Natasha s set, but during the opener I wasn t thrilled with the view from the balcony or anything more than 30 feet from stage. However, if you get up close it s a pretty intimate venue. When she took the piano for songs like horse and I I was about 3 feet away from her.. epic win XD (see pic) Someone next to me grabbed the setlist I was planning to take halfway through the show, but I ll give an approximation of what I remember. I know there were more, and the order might not be exact. It was a good blend of old and new. Also, I think she did a couple songs that aren't on "two suns" or "fur and gold" so I don't know the names..

Missed seeing them at Lollapalooza...Austin show sold out...had to see this UK band...so to Dallas I trekked! It was worth the travel, enjoyed their music immensely...great energy watching them live...a must for any music lover. The entire band was simply amazing indeed...extremely satisfied with their performance and wish them the best for many years to come...definitely a band I'll follow.

First off Natasha Khan a.k.a. Bat for Lashes has a fantastic live voice. Most bands I've heard sound better on CD than live, but with Bat for Lashes I found the live performance to be superior. I really hope they do a live CD as that could be great to listen to. The energy of the band was high and Natasha was dancing around the stage a lot and the whole performance just worked really well. Having heard the CDs I was surprised that the energy was so high as I had really expected a more subdued performance, but it was a very pleasant surprise that I was mistaken. The opening act was very good, thought I didn't catch their name and the Music Box at the Fonda is a great smallish venue for concerts. Overall, definitely 5/5.......

Bat for Lashes rocked the Music Box with their amazing music and their stage presence. Other Lives, who opened the show, were so good. They had an amazing sound and used so many instrument, it made them very unique. Well needless to say both bands were outstanding and I would recommend anyone to go see them.

No words can completely describe the experience I had last night seeing Bat for Lashes at the Fonda. They are an incredible band that are way under the radar. Shows at the Fonda are always amazing. I was introduced to this band by a friend and am so glad. I will most definitely go to another concert.

Two fine artists (Other Lives and Bat For Lashes). You can't fault their musical performances. They are reliably exceptional. I'd recommend adjusting the sound. At a certain point increased volume distorts. That may be the speakers... I'm not sure. But I heard these artists at Spaceland (and Troubadour for BFL) plus on KCRW, where sound was superior. And with music, that's important. The DJ sets between seemed out of place with these artists.

The Bat for Lashes event was such an amazing experience. From the young vibrant crowd. To the mature hip music lovers. The stage decore, the groups energy. It was an all and all fun and ear happy experience. The music was so realistic, and sounds of Electronic and Indie Rock was so vibrant live. Bat for Lashes was so amazing. I would love to see them again.

Although I thought Bat For Lashes put on a technically perfect show, I thought the energy and song selection was a bit flat. One fan protesting, at the end of the show, with a full out scream of "BORING" and I have to confess, he wasn't completely wrong. I saw them in June at the El Rey theater and the band had a stellar performance and kept the whole audience moving. I think the temperature of the venue may have had something to do with it. Everyone in my section were wiping their brows of perspiration and it started to feel more like a yoga session than a performance. I think Natasha is brilliant, but in that fur trimmed body suit, even she couldn't help but sweat it out a bit. It's summer Fonda, set your thermostat on cool!!

....Incredible!!! Bat for Lashes was, I have to say, the best show I've seen this year. Not to mention a new member of my top five of all time. Their stage presence alone was outstanding, plus they're great musicians. They sounded as good as, if not better than, on their album. Natasha Khan is a goddesss of undiscribable nature.... Absolutly lovely! All Around Good Fun///?>

With a bigger touring budget, I bet she could give Kate a run for her money. I loved the casual set up, with christmas lights, tinsel, and a stripped down sound that nonetheless did justice to her recordings. Her voice is amazing, and her shy but warm stage presence was lovely. All I could have wished for was an audience that would dance, though. Why are people so shy?

Natasha Khan's voice is ethereal and enchanting. She is almost better live because the esthetic of her performance enhances the music so much. The drummer was incredible as well. Sarah Jones, who also drums for The New Young Pony Club, drummed her heart out. I had never noticed before how essential the tribal beats were to the songs, but they enhance the performance so much! Incredible live show! Other lives was a surprise because I had never heard of them before but I loved then and even bought their cd. They were kind and thrilled to talk to the audience. I wish I had met Natasha. Wonderful performance! I am glad that I drove 8 hours to Denver to see her.

I have seen many bands at indoor venues and I must say that the Bluebird is the best venue I have been to thus far. The acoustics were amazing and the small venue made the performance seem more personal. It would have been nice to have bar stools to sit on and enjoy drinks during the performance but otherwise I would recommend this venue to anyone. Of course, Bat For Lashes was fantastic. To hear such an amazing band live with excellent sound quality made the experience all the more memorable.

I have only known about Natasha Kahn and Bat For Lashes for a little less than two weeks now, but I fell in love their music and her voice instantly. I saw them on Jimmy Fallon s show and their performance blew me away. When I found out that they were playing at the Blue Bird I immediately purchased a ticket. I have no words to describe the performance, simply spectacular. The stage design gave off the perfect ambiance for the bands musical vibe. Natasha's voice was that of an Angel, but I think she would better describe herself as a Siren. The band did not miss a beat. Natasha and the musicians performed perfectly in unison, I found myself lost in the world they had created for me and the audience.

Although the audience was a bit uptight, Other Lives and Bat for Lashes put on a great show. Other Lives had good presence and sound, and was a pleasant surprise. Snaps for Bat for Lashes--the sound was just as good as the recorded version, and Natasha Khan put on a great show. I never understood how Khan's affinity with the wolf worked through the music, but the primal sound of the percussion really gave it a wildness. Because it was such a small, intimate setting, it would have been nice to hear that personal note come out during song introductions, but there wasn't a lot of audience engagements. Overall, though, good time, fun show.

Her voice stays with you even after you leave the venue like a dream, and you can't shake off the resonance of the drums or passion with which all percussion and instruments were played... nor do you want to! I think her live shows are better than her albums, and I hope to see her again and again in the near future. I must say the stage set up was perfectly customized to her and her band members with lights, gaudy but cool throws and rugs, even a kewpie doll or two! Her costume was insanely spectacular! Everyone on stage was truly into the music as well as the audience. The only small complaint I have is that there were so many people I couldn't see most of the show. But the density of the crowd only shows you how talented and well loved Bat for Lashes truly is...I cannot fault her for a packed show!

Given the band's silent, meek entrance up the stairs to the second story Loft venue, you might have never anticipated the commanding stage presence of British four-piece Bat For Lashes. If you've heard their work, which is influenced by electronica and features Middle Asian music stylings, you know to expect an interesting and beautiful live show. I dug both of their releases and, after seeing this show, still felt my expectations were far exceeded. Quickly after ascending the stage, singer Natasha Khan, dressed in a layered tunic, meditated over the words in the intro to "Glass." The sharp vocals and great sound quality allowed the sounds to wash over us, bringing us under her spell. When the drummer kicked on the percussion, the spell didn't break, but only grew stronger. The percussion, like the vocals, was full, clear, and omnipresent. While slower tracks like "Good Love" and "Siren Song" were lifted even beyond their studio selves by Khan's soaring live vocals, the hypnotic, driving percussion on tracks like "What's a Girl To Do?" and "Pearl's Dream" was irresistible and wild. Neither the heat or the overcrowding could stop us all from bobbing around. All three supporting band members traded roles seamlessly, providing in turn percussion, backing vocals, and, sometimes, small strings of bells. The band performed a well-rounded initial set of material from 2006's "Fur and Gold" and 2009's "Two Suns." Khan returned solo after a short departure, laughing about the lack of hiding places in the small, wide-open venue. She performed a solo "Prescilla," singing of longing for simple domestic life and the struggle to find the courage to embrace it. Infused with the exotic sounds of her autoharp, it was a highlight of the night. I know I wasn't alone in hoping for a second encore. Eventually, though, the band wrapped up for good with crowd favorite "Daniel." Though the hour-plus set was both entertaining and impressive, I just wasn't finished dancing the night away in the exotic world of Bat For Lashes.

To start with Natasha is just about as talented as they come. She was both visually and audibly perfect and pleasing. The show was mellow but dancey and had just enough lighting to enhance but not to be over bearing. The set mimicked something from a thrift store, nick knacks were scattered throughout the stage. I would personally say this show was the second most amazing, breathtaking, and soul capturing show i have ever scene, only to be outdone by radiohead. I would STRONGLY suggest that everyone listen to and see this artist because its nearly life changing the talent this one women and her specially chosen band grace us with.

I've been a fan of Bat for Lashes since "Fur & Gold" came out a couple of years ago and her beautiful voice and magical gothesque sound has kept her albums on high rotation. When "Two Suns" came out I really hoped that I would get to see her, and thank goodness for friends on Myspace, because one bulletin announced her North American tour and I immediately bought my tickets. The venue was perfect; the Loft is a great size and it lent to the show being very intimate, I was on the front row and often was able to exchange smiles and be completely enraptured by Natasha's performance. All of the songs, even the ones played differently than the album versions, were perfect and awe-inspiring. She hit all of the high notes, danced beautifully, and was very humble and in-tuned to the audience. Overall this show was a religious experience for me, right down to the Jesus and Mary relics placed around the stage. I will also be buying the opening band, Other Lives' album as they were also quite impressive and started the mood that was carried on through the whole evening.

The concert was great and had an intimate feeling. Natasha and her mostly girl band sounded clear and crisp on every song. Highlights for me were her beautiful voice and the girl on drums. Amazing! The only improvement needed is Natasha's stage presence. Although she seemed confident with her performance, she was too shy addresing the crowd. I know she will improve as she matures as an artists. She is a great talent!

Ethereal and magical, personal and moving. This is what Bat for Lashes brings to the live show. Natasha has a voice that is so crisp and light yet resonates and fills the room so completely. Saw BfL at Webster Hall on 8/30. Was looking forward to the show based on solid last 2 studio albums. From the opening song "Lilies" onward, it was fairly obvious Natasha Khan was lip-synching. It even appeared at times her band was faking...although on certain songs the percussion was definitely real. During the opener Natasha took to an electric drum that bore no relation to the music coming out of the amps. For the most part, her performance mirrored a little kid pretending to be a rock star. Why a group of people would haul around the country in a tour bus, setting up and tearing down lighting and sound equipment in city after city only to pretend to perform is beyond me.

Once again I have to give an excellent show an average rating because the concert was a mere hour long. I have seen bands that have only 1 CD out that play longer. She has 3 and so has plenty of material for at least an hour and a half. I blame these new short shows on the growing number of festivals where acts generally only play less than an hour unless they are headliners. Otherwise, Bat For Lashes put on a fun, energetic, and at times dramatic show. Natasha sounded great even hitting the high notes in, Marilyn. She has such positive energy. Speaking of, the somewhat small crowd was very loud and enthusiastic. Lots of singing and dancing fun.

It's plain and simple to say, but extraordinary and absolutely mind-blowing to see a live performance of Bat for Lashes. There are just some things in life we cannot explain in words. There are things that we must experience for ourselves, and Bat for Lashes in concert is one special event I will never forget. The Columbus, Ohio show was my fourth Bat for Lashes concert. I've seen Natasha Khan perform in San Francisco, CA - Big Sur, CA - and Los Angeles, CA. Every single show was a different experience and had its own unique spirit. I am forever impressed by the powerful energy that transcends between the crowd and the band. The energy does not stop with the final song...it stays with you for days, maybe longer. From the moment the band and Natasha walked on stage, all of life's troubles were completely forgotten. The Columbus crowd was by far the loudest and most enthusiastic I've seen yet. The crowd knew the lyrics to the songs, sang along at times, and showed their appreciation for the appearance of a truly talented artist. By the end of the show, there were hugs, smiles and laughter. It was like a room full of strangers at the start, and a feeling of community by the end.

All around great show. I'm not going to sit and type a full-on professional review. Singing was spot on, musicians were perfectly synced. Stage lighting was awesome, provided a really nice atmosphere. I expected to be impressed, but was absolutely blown away. Barbarian was somewhat forgettable. Kind of a Strokes vibe live. I just feel that she could have picked an opener with a closer resemblance to her brand of synthy dream pop.

Great. Natasha Kahn writes music from the heart. Her tour group and stage dressing was minimal but the songs were on in full force. You can get a taste of her live performances on the Youtubes. Her spot on David Letterman doing "Daniel" is the best. She didn't bring the kettle drums on this tour but the song still got the crowd going.

This was my 4th time seeing Natasha Khan (Bat for Lashes) and she continues to grow in her music and talent. She pours out her heart in lyrics and invites you to take a trip inside her mind. She has mastered her stage presence and gives All Her Gold to all her fans each night. Natasha is a must see. It's hard to pin point her musical style since its so unique. She just loves expressing herself in her own way and it's a gift the world is fortunate to enjoy. Thanks Natasha for sharing your gold with the world.

Bat For Lashes is amazing, and she captivates a room, even if you don't think you'll like her music, just go see her live and that will change. Her awesome music sounds even better in person and her set is so electric and cute. You will enjoy just seeing the little trinks she has on stage, but most of all, she's a top notch performer. Natasha is a great show-woman. This was the best show I went to in 2009 and I go to a LOT of shows, it even topped my Radiohead experience because the Fonda is so intimate. I also saw Bats at the El Rey about 6 months earlier and while that concert was the jam as well, it was great to see her at the end of the tour--they were playing tighter and I think she gave it everything she had left because it was the/or nearly last show. I can't wait for the new work and next tour--don't miss her.

Loved every second of it I usually like more dancable song of hers but the concert made me realize how great her sad..sad songs are. the stage looked great with the wolf and the moon and the blue lamp and natasha looked ever so magical in the furry wing suit. I would see every single show that she'll have in town.

Few vocalists out there 'truly' sound as good live as they do in recordings. Natasha Khan is one of those rare talents. She is as original as she is talented, and her energy is uniquely warm, even while delivering haunting, melancholy songs filled with a maturity beyond her years. My first viewing of a live performance by Bat for Lashes only served to confirm this opinion. The show at the Music Box @ The Fonda in Hollywood on August 31st, was apparently the last one of a month long tour- however you would not know it from the spirited performance, energy, and haunting vocals that Khan put out on stage. Simply amazing. I have little more to say, others will no doubt have better, more detailed reviews. The venue was great, although I have to say that the 6'4 tall bushy-haired blonde guy in front of me was blocking part of the show despite my best efforts to get away from him [Thanks Natasha for moving around on stage plenty so we could see you!] - The reason I bring this up is to suggest that should you purchase tickets to this venue, you may want to consider Balcony seating as I heard it was infinitely better. This certainly won't be my last Bat for Lashes concert. I'm still trying to convert friends and convince them that she is indeed "the next big thing", until that time, I will enjoy her in relative solitude and thank my lucky stars [and Big Sonic Chill on FM94.9 in San Diego] for discovering her. The Opening Act was also great, however I have to admit I have no idea who they were, nor did they seem to announce a name [that I could hear anyway]. Forgive my ignorance on this, they were very talented as well, and certainly deserve more thorough praise.
