Mohegan Sun's Party Into the New Year

The ballroom was beautifully decorated and was very festive! Hats, headbands, and noisemakers were scattered on the table tops for everyone to take part in. The DJs kept the music fun and exciting, so the dance floor was packed. One downfall for this event was the number of bartenders. The ones they had were exceptional, but lines were 20 minutes long at the peak of the night. Some of the bar stations even ran out of liquors (tequila specifically, yikes!). The bartenders maintained great customer service despite the pressure they were under. At midnight, people came around with champagne. The party was still pumping at 2:00 when I left! I plan to come back next year!

It was a great time. The music the open bar the coat-check made things very easy and convenient. The breakfast was on point. As long as you got great friends to be with then you're in a good place. Next time I recommend staying at the hotel in the casino because the Uber prices are crazy.

I had a great time at the party . Mohegan Sun was party central . Everywhere I went there were people having an awesome time . When we got to the Ball Room for the event it was all I expected and more !!! Open Bar , Good People , Great Music , and a Great Food Spread after 12 !! I will def go again !!!

Alright, for starters, WHERE WAS THE CHAMPAGNE TOAST?!?! I can't even begin to explain how annoyed each and every one of my friends were. We spent $140 after taxes for tickets to this event and none of us received one single glass of champagne. I asked people inside the ballroom and at the stand up bars outside the ballroom. No one even knew where the champagne was and when I asked a bartender for a glass in general I was told they had no champagne at all. Very misleading event to promise something and then not follow through. This made me never want to buy event tickets at Mohegan ever again. $140 isn't cheap. The drinks were free along with the tickets which was nice, but with the exception of that there wasn't much else to offer. The breakfast food was alright and the free picture booth was pretty cool as well. But the lack of champagne on New Year's Eve really put a damper on the evening.

Not one drop of champagne was served! Kept asking the bartenders for champagne all night and said not until midnight. Midnight came and went and there was still no champagne. The bartenders either told me no or to wait and then couldn t find any.

You pay a lot of money to stand and listen to a bad DJ that just plays songs for 30 seconds then screams into a mic. There was free drinks but you could only get one at a time and the lines were extremely long. Overall it was the worst new years ever.

Music was good, but to charge $100 per person and have 30-40 minute drink lines is unacceptable.

Music song selection wasn't the best. Too much Latino music at the beginning. Need more seating. The lines weren't too long when getting drinks. Seats are first come first serve. It was nice that they offered hats and headbands and noise makers. Bathrooms wee nice and clean. Overall goood event

Charged nearly $1000 for a room that would normally be about $200-$300, with nothing extra - no food, no free extended stay, no free river view. So tried to find something else to get our money's worth. Saw this party and signed up for it (although it was advertised at $100/ticket it was $150 after ticketmaster fees) Tried many times to see if there was to be any food or snacks served (since we could get no dinner reservations with our $1000 room), bit no one at Mohegan Sun had any information. In the end, we cancelled the room and resold the tickets for $50. A terrible experience with Mohegan Sun.

A let down! The place was overcrowded all the seats where filled and no where to put your stuff down. The dance floor was packed the music wasn't what I expected . The worst part was the lines for drinks ranged from 20-45 minutes . You where only allowed one at a time. We left and went Into the casino for most the night . The breakfast was average but nothing out of the ordinary. This event has plenty of potential but let us down this year.

Far too busy, lousy drink service, DJ's were just "ok", breakfast buffet was lousy, save your money for the tables!

The lines were VERY long to get a drink. You could only get one drink at a time. Once you finally got your drink, you might as well just go back in line to get another because you will be finished with your drink by the time you get to the front of the line again. There appeared to be a lot of seating but due to the large amount of people attending it was very hard to find a place to sit down. While there appeared to be some tables vacant, people were saving the entire table for their friends (who were no where around). That is ridiculous and should not be allowed. The DJ and decorations in the ball room were not bad. They also handed out champagne right before midnight which was nice. The glasses were only half full but you could go back to get more since they had a ton leftover. They also served breakfast at around 12:30 (eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast, home fries) and had multiple stations set up so the lines weren't very long. These features were nice, but definitely not worth the price. A side note - this isn't technically Mohegan's fault but others attending the event were very rude to us while waiting in line to get in. You could tell they were just getting into this event for free (since they probably gambled their life savings away) as they were old and did not look like they wanted to be there. You run the risk of encountering people like this at these events so be careful and put them in their place when you have the chance...

This event was fun but it felt like we spent half the night waiting in line for drinks. There should have been more bartenders because at times the wait was 25 minutes for a drink!

DJ Rob Necega and DJ Rob Pisani were absolutely AMAZING Best Djs I have seen in a long time!!! would come again if they were spinning at Mohegan Sun

Poor organized. Open bar, but 25 minutes wait for one drink. Another 25 minutes for a second drink. Not enough chairs for people to seat. Breakfast at 1 am, which was so poorly made that made me regret for the $ 100.00 spent on the ticket. I would rather take the chance of playing the slot machines. I wouldn't do it again.

I just think they need more and or better bartenders. It was a 30 minute wait for a drink.

Decor was good. The DJ's were terrible. The bar was the worst, long lines and watered down alcohol. Stick with beer if possible.

The venue was done up nice but the staff and bars were not up to par. I spent an average of 25 minutes every time I got a drink, they only had 6 bars open and ran out of popular spirits very quickly. For a casino, you think they could restock rather quickly. They also had no waitstaff walking around asking for drink orders. Would not go to this event again.

My husband and I were incredibly disappointed with the ballroom party; the decor and DJs were fine, but we had to wait 30 minutes each time we wanted a drink. The lines were ridiculously long and the bartenders were too few and too slow. So the per person price for "open bar" was dwarfed by the fact that we only had four drinks each and spent most of our time standing in line, bored as hell. (Mohegan later stated to me that by law they are limited to serving one drink every thirty minutes, which is funny considering this is clearly not the policy at any of their bars/restaurants.) Further, where was the "breakfast buffet" as advertised? We assumed there would be food served, but we saw nothing and as a result ended up having "dinner" at 12:30am in the food court. (We later found out that the food was served at 1am, though this was not on the website nor were there signs at the venue.) Considering the ticket price of $100/pp, we expected to have some type of assigned seating, but apparently it was first come, first serve with not enough seats for everyone. Not what we would have expected from Mohegan. In fact, we would gladly have spent the equivalent of our ticket prices and more on the casino floor that night and at a decent restaurant if we had known the ballroom party would be as disappointing as it was. Instead, we spent the night waiting in line for weak cocktails and wishing we had spent the new year elsewhere.

Long drink lines. Not the best dance music. Definitely not worth the $100 for the ticket.

Food was horrible for 100 USD, however the logistics was good, it will be a good party if they change the menu for something good

Good, but could have been better. Munchies on the tables. More bars (lines were too long). Since there was a mix of age groups, there should have been a mix of music. A little big band music. There was none. Yes, there were people there in their 60's, 70's, and a few in there 80's. Some of the "Older" people left early because they were board. Since at least a third of the croud was in their late 50's - early 60's, there should have been a lot of Clasic Rock. There was none. The younger croud could have danced to that also. All the music was Club Disco. However, the DJ's were great, as was the Breakfast Buffet at 1:00 am.

Lines for drinks were way too long, needed more bartenders or ones that actually have a sense of urgency. Suggestion is having a beer only line which would have allowed beer drinkers to not have to wait for the mixed drinks to be made.

It was a great setup. Reasonably priced with a well stocked open bar that didn't have crazy lines and the drinks weren't watered down. They also had food at 1:00AM. A professional photographer and happy new year hats, etc were also included. Best part, no crazy lines to get in in the cold and overcrowded bar areas and dance floors. There was space to sit, stand around or be s part of the dance floor. Music was good as well. If there was anything really to complain about, it would be it wasn't crowded enough. But it was a huge hall so it would be really tough to full it up. The dance floor area was crowded however.

It was a great time my only complaint was the line to the open bar was long at time!
