Collective Soul

Collective Soul

Collective Soul have married monster riffage to memorable hooks ever since they started dominating airwaves in the ‘90s. Today, the hard rock standard-bearers are still bringing the same ferocity that made them famous to all their live shows. On standouts like “Shine”, “The World I Know”, and “December”, lead singer Ed Roland’s killer pipes are guaranteed to floor audiences. As fans sing along to the hits they know by heart, the rest of the band delivers blazing riffs, precise drum beats, and driving basslines that come together like a sonic stampede.

Had a great concert experience! First time at house of blues in Myrtle beach, parking is a nightmare since grand ol oprey blocks half the parking until 7:30, concert was billed starting at 7:30 the summit the opening band didn t come out until 8:30. Set up was quick and smooth for collective soul and they put on a fantastic show, you can tell they perform because it s what they love to do. The venue is 3 levels with lots of standing areas farther back from the stage and a smaller pit area. Behind the sound booth is the place to be. All in all a great concert experience and would definitely go back

Both performers played a very nice combination of music. they are very different Styles of music but went well together. Most of the energy in Collective Soul seems to come from their vocalist but they did not seem to miss a beat. Would recommend as above Average. Enjoyed the show.

Awesome show. Not a Gavin DeGraw fan. Collective Soul should have been the main Headliner, not a shared headliner with Gavin.

Gavin Degraw opened the evening at dusk and did a great job. I don't consider myself a big Gavin DeGraw fan but he was definitely enjoyable. Collective Soul however was fantastic! I've followed them for over a decade now and their shows are always a blast. I highly recommend the Collective Soul shows.

My wife and I recently purchased VIP passes and we were not disappointed. We arrived early (even before the bar opened) and met the band! This was the 10th or 11th time I've seen Collective Soul, but I'd never upgraded to VIP before and it was worth it! The band played many songs from each album and most of our favorites! Ed even sat in the crowd and sang a song! We enjoyed ourselves very much and I would highly recommend seeing them when they come to your town! That's another great thing...they play smaller venues while on tour and I appreciate that!

Collective Soul played 17 songs with no opening act, and No encore. The no encore is not uncommon for this tour. The music was well performed, but the band seemed rushed or in a hurry to get somewhere else. Like they had somewhere to be. Wonder if the casino said play for an hour, no more. They ended in 1 hour 10 mins. Kansas Star arena is a great place to see a show, not a bad seat in the house. Not even the cheap seats.

Collective Soul keeping kicking ass in every sense of the word! Dean looks great and sounds fantastic-The Bass player is smooth tight and super chill! Jesse is a freakin bad ass lead guitarist -he has so much stage presence and love his playing! The drummer is totally badass too - he rocks the house- and Ed Rolands' vocals were incredible. He has been leading this band around the world for 25+ years! He's a veteran accomplished singer songwriter composer and top notched front man! The band sounded so good and played extra song for the audience. Collective Soul was simply amazing! Golden Nugget is a great venue!

Cannot believe how many seats were empty: this was one of the most enjoyable concerts I have ever been to. Collective Soul with their enthusiasm and sheer explosive energy were personal and showmanly at the same time. Our Lady Peace was stunningly and beautifully raw and emotional. Tonic was personable and extraordinarily talented. The sounds of all three bands worked together so well and provided such a specific, lovely atmosphere for the night. Won't soon forget this pairing straight out of a perfect 90s alternative radio station.

We were skeptical of this venue due to the hotels Yelp ratings and the seating chart, but we could not pass up the opportunity to see our guys rock so we went for it and were not disappointed at all. It was fantastic. All the service we received was top notch. Hotel employees were all exceptional. The food also fantastic. Collective Soul never gives a bad show and this venue was perfect for the loyal fan following they have. It was spacious but intimate and well laid out. Everyone had a seat but sitting is never a good sign at a concert. LOL! I'd definitely go back to see another show here.

I had the Meet and Greet ticket to see Collective Soul. As an extra perk, we were invited to catch sound check for the Collective Soul and Magnets and Ghosts. There were only handful of us. The band was gracious and I was thrilled to finally meet them in person. We were allowed to stay in venue and get a good position at rail. The whole evening rocked from beginning with Magnets and Ghosts' set to Collective Soul's two-hour set. Scored a piece of Ed Roland's set list (along with piece of carpet it was taped to, ha!) Will do this in heartbeat again:)

Collective Soul from Atlanta (Stockbridge), Georgia rolled into Irving Plaza in New York on a cold October evening and raised the temperature in lower Manhattan with one helluva hot rockin' show. Tight, hot and fun! The show was seamless, from the pre-show soundcheck to all of the familiar hits and new material destined to be hits to Ed Roland playing everyone off stage in a sort of final encore curtain call.

The band was amazing - they played a 2 hour show without stopping to include drum solos and guitar solos. Lead singer came into the crowd while playing his acoustic guitar - they played all the classic favorites, and tried 4 new songs out. The group was very playful on stage and put on a show to remember while battling the AZ heat. Ending the show by playing the song Run... each band member exited the stage individually with the lead singer last and he played well into being in the back stage hall.

First time I saw Collective Soul was at the Tampa Performing Arts almost 20 years ago. What a great show it was! I missed their Ruth Eckerd Show in 2007, but would NOT miss this Mahaffey show w/ Ed Kowalczyk. Fantastic energy the entire show. Collective Soul still sounds as powerful, soft, funky, crazy and sane as they did 20 years ago. Ed is so much fun to watch and he puts his heart into every word, every chord. Will was bringing it big time and Jessie did a great job on lead too. The end of the show was something I have never seen in a live concert. One encore, Ed is playing acoustic on Run, and had the audience singing the chorus "I've got a long way to run" while the band slowly exits the stage, leaving Ed with the acoustic. Ed continues playing as he walks off stage and disappears but still we hear him playing. We keep singing...then we hear the ending chords. That was so freaking cool!!

My favorite band was awesome as usual. The playlist was great and most of my favorite songs were performed after the entire Dosage song list. I am so glad they came off hiatus and hope they continue to make new music together! My only complaint of the night is that The Tabernacle needs some A/C inside the auditorium. OMG it was the best Collective Soul show I've seen in a long time. And I have seen them about 20 times in the past 5 years. It was rockin' and the band was on top of their game and so was the audience. I love it when that happens. Please bring them back to the Casino again soon. I'd go EVERYTIME even if it is a 3 hour drive. Ed Roland, Dean Roland, Joel, Will & Johnny are the best band ever! Just freakin' amazing. BUT the HB Casino really needs to get some ceiling fans in that place. Especially when it is that packed. Very, very hot and not a lot of air circulating around.

My 4 sons and husband and I saw Collective Soul at the Fillmore Charlotte. When we entered the facility the first thing I noticed was there were no chairs, no tables. Well, there were a few on the sides of the room but they were roped off and for "VIPs" only. Collective Soul is not the kind of band you want to be down front on the floor for. They're the kind of band you enjoy while sitting at a table with your friends or family, having drinks and maybe even food. The venue does not offer food. It was RIDICULOUS that they didn't offer seating ANYWHERE unless you were a member of their VIP list, whatever that is. The prices of their drinks were utterly and completely ridiculous. It was $7 for a little plastic cup of beer and $11 for a larger one. (REALLY?). They had a "special" on Bud Light tallboy cans, $10. What a deal. It was $5 for a little plastic cup of soda. Water bottles were equally ridiculous but I don't remember the exact price. The band was excellent, as I knew they would be. They put on a great show, they sounded as good as they do in the studio, and I can't think of anything negative to say about them, other than they were late to take the stage.

Green River Ordinance and Gavin DeGraw were good...I have no real complaints about them...but I was there for Collective Soul, and I was NOT disappointed! This was the 4th time I've seen them, and my son's 2nd time. They opened with their new single "Welcome All Again" and it was PERFECT ! They did a good long set, featuring most of our old favorites, as well as a couple more songs from the upcoming CD. This show was SO good, in fact, that we're going to Dallas to see them again in September with Black Stone Cherry! I've been to well over 100 concerts, and the only time I've seen better musicians was when I saw Rush. Collective Soul even get my "most fun concert" title. These guys are amazing and if you love to rock, and you love live music, they will NOT disappoint you!!!

The meet 'n greet was awesome - Collective Soul boys are so down-to-earth and appreciate their fans. They never disappoint. That being said, the venue (Beaumont Club) had horrible accoustics and the VIP area sucked!

The show started with Green River Ordinance. They were awesome! I especially enjoyed the adorable guitar player ;) Gavin Degraw was even better than I imagined he would be! In addition to his AMAZING, powerful voice, his stage presence and charm was absolutely compelling! However, I'm not really a fan of Collective Soul so it wouldn't be fair for me to write a review on them....

The show started with Green River Ordinance who sounded great and really got the crowd going. Gavin came out next. His show was amazing! His voice is unbelievable, great personality, plays piano and guitar, interacts with the crowd, and is funny! After the show we had an opportunity to meet him outside by his tour bus and he was so nice. He talked to us for a little while and was kind enough to take pictures. He's a great person all around. I would go back and see him in a heartbeat! We went back in for Collective Soul and they sounded good as well. The crowd definitely enjoyed them.

Green River Ordinance was the opening act for Gavin DeGraw and they rocked it out. Great opening act, got us pumped up (not that we needed it) for the Gavin show. Gavin DeGraw came out, sang his ass off, and was utterly brilliant. His voice is amazing live, and he has an incredible chemistry and connection with the crowd.

Collective Soul kicked off their summer tour with Gavin DeGraw and Green River Ordinance in Cleveland, the Rock & Roll capital of the world. They began their set with a track off of their soon to be released (August 25) self-titled album. The song "Welcome All Again" is a throw back to their "Shine" days with great guitar riffs. This song totally rocks! What a great way to start off a show, getting the audience all fired up! Frontman Ed Roland hasn't slowed down over the years and danced with his mike stand all through the show! He moved so much it was almost impossible to get a picture of him that wasn't blurry! Joel Kosche is an amazing guitarist and showcased his talent on their hits "Gel", "December", and "Where the River Flows". All members of Collective Soul were in tune with each other and were clearly having a great time jamming together once again. If this band comes to a town near you, buy those tickets and go!! These guys are still rocking their audiences! Time hasn't slowed them down or made them dull, it has only made them better.

The atmosphere was great, Gavin had a great set and Collective Soul left us all wanting more. The venue had a great stage - everyone had great visibility and it almost seemed like the bands were in the crowd at times.

The Collective Soul/Gavin DeGraw show was amazing!! Gavin's music, although less familar to us, was tight, melodic and energy charged. His guitar palyer was terrific and the band has a great rapport. Very entertaining and very worthwhile seeing live. Gavin is a passionate performer. Collective Soul just keeps getting better. The mix of their new and old songs was just right. Ed's voice was definitely feeling the effects of their tour and his spirit, stage prescence and charisma made his performance that much more memorbale. To sound as good as the studio cuts just shows how talented and professional this group is. We have been following CS for over a decade now and this performance exceeded our expectations of their power and energy in a live venue.

Opening band: Green River Ordinance, really enjoyable, good surprise. Gavin DeGraw: amazing as usual - who we came to see. Collective Soul: could not hear/understand lyrics over loud music - not our style of music - so did not enjoy them at all. Had the meet and greet tickets for Gavin. It was really amazing to meet him, but both bands had their meet and greet just as the show was starting, so we lost our "prime location" on the balcony (it's all GA standing room only at house of blues). They should have had their meet and greet either much earlier than the show, or after the show ended.

We are huge CS fans and loved their show as always. Ed had a cold and his voice was not the best but his energy was amazing for not feeling well. The only reason this is not a five star is we don't understand the pairing with Gavin DeGraw. Their music is very different, and the CS fans we spoke to were bored during his show, as were we. Green River Ordinance was a good warmup band, but three bands makes for a really long night, especially standing at a general admission show. We'd prefer to see Collective Soul alone with a longer show. We hope to see Collective Soul in Tampa or Orlando again soon and are looking forward to the new CD.

This concert was by far the best I have ever seen. I have been to several concerts over the years, and Collective Soul beat all of them by a landslide. Every song was just as amazing (and in some cases, even better) than the album version. Ed is extraordinarily talented, and each band member is amazing. We have tickets to see them again already. Gavin DeGraw was really good, too - just a little long. We wanted more Collective Soul! The band that started the concert - Alternate Roots - was very good as well. Overall, it was a great night of music! Rock on, Collective Soul!

I really enjoyed watching Gavin and Collective Soul perform. I hope that after Gavins' performance people will give him a chance and the respect that he deserves as an musician. Watching Collective Soul perform for the first time was amazing. I am a young African-American female and was the only one there and I must say the show was amazing. If you are a true music lover you must open your mind to and ears to other cultural music. Everybody may not like rock but I know I'm not the only black woman who does. Start showing your support for these artist, they are our gifts to us musically.

Collective Soul came out second, but second to none those guys brought their show full force. They and the show were on "fire". It was high energy, great vocals, fun transition from song to song and the artists really looked they were having a ball up there. Great crowd, lots of happy singing voices. I had never seen Gavin before but am a new fan. Liked his voice a lot too. He charmed the audience, especial the young ladies. He seems like such a great guy,

I had the time of my life!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Collective Soul and they did not disappoint. I highly recommend this band to everyone! The venue at the House of Blues Myrtle Beach, is wonderful. The staff is amazing and very helpful. I am handicapped and they escorted me to an area that is set aside for handicapped people, They provided stools/chairs for us and we had a decent view of the stage. I will be returning to the House of Blues soon!

Second time I have seen them, firs time outdoors. They are one of those bands that are 'sneaky good'. Solid tight musicianship and they are seasoned professionals. Ed makes it fun and involves the crowd - he even went down into the crowd at one point and was high-fiveing and doing selfies. Lots of fun, great songs, most we sang along with him. Just a great hard-ish rock band that knows how to entertain. 3 Doors Down was the closer or 'headliner' but we left as Collective simply out shined and out classed them. In fact, 3 Doors left me with the impression of a modern country-pop band but with slightly harder edge and a bit more tempo than say jason aldeen or whatever. Boring... But Collective Soul- I'll see them any time they are in town, always a great show= just fun and rockin' !!

The Headline act Collective Soul was excellent Sunday night, but the opening act, The Summit was a little disappointing. Their sound was terrible, you could barely hear the drums, and the lead guitar was so loud, it was overpowering everything, including the vocals. I have seen Collective Soul three times, and they are always on point, and sound fantastic. Overall it was a fun night.

I've seen Collective Soul perform live a number of times and they never disappoint. Every time they rock out and work their asses off to make sure the crowd has an amazing time, this show was no different. They started by coming on stage to explain the flow of the show, then launched right in. After an hour long set, they took a brief break, then came back for another two hour set and encore. At the end they embraced each other, then face the crowd for a bow and thanks. It's so refreshing to see such musician ship and professionalism in a live show. I'm pretty sure Ed sang without any autotune - amazing! They are one of a kind.

This was one of the best shows I've been to in a long time, if not ever!! They have always been one of my favorites growing up and still rival for #1 in my books! I got the chance to go last year as well as meet them in person after the show. They are phenomenal people and so down to Earth! Not only did they play "heavy" (a request I had last year when I got to speak to them) but the added dance moves were awesome! :) It was even nice to see them utilize the full time instead of leaving and coming back for an encoure!!! Again, so considerate and thoughtful for their fans! I cannot say enough great things about them, if you haven't got to see them live, please do so and support them for many years to come!!
