Well I love seeing Tori Amos. I have seen her at several different venues around the bay. It's always a great show. however, the Paramount Theater is my favorite place to see her. It's so beautiful. Beyond the beauty the sound there is fantastic. One can see her from any seat.

I have been a Tori Amos fan for a long time. The phrasing of the piano seems to match her voice perfectly; this combination puts her in a completely different league than today's 'pop' icons. At times I would feel better comparing her performance (voice + lyrics + instrument) to the likes of a local symphony playing Chopin at Benaroya Hall than Coldplay, Mayer, or *insert current musician here*. The subtleties of the inflections that she chooses brings light to some of the darker areas of her recordings, and supplies dedicated fans with a bit of clarification to these items. Aside from that, Tori Amos delivered an outstanding performance although I walked in the room with extremely high expectations. I have seen the live DVD's, etc., but these can do no justice. Although I would not say that her movements do not demand attention like in a high-energy show like Collective Soul, you find your eyes gravitating to her due to fantastic (yet simple) set design and a simple curiosity: Who can make sounds this sweet? I would love to hear her sing a lullaby.

She was, as always, simply awe inspiring. She seems not human as she bellows out a huge range of vocal emotions and her band and her piano just fill your ears until you can think of nothing else but the beauty of this performance.

Tori greeted Seattle in an emarald green dress with Gold leggings. She this was to honor the city she so loved and was excited to open in Seattle. You could tell from the start of the show that Tori was rare form. She seemed playful and in top notch vocally. She played a perfect mix of old with the new and it greeted with so many great crowd cheers.

Third time seeing Tori and the girls this tour. I can honestly say I liked this show, better than last time I saw them at the Ryman. They NEVER fail to deliver. I have experienced them nine times, and each and every time they get better. In my opinion, this has been the best tour by far.

This is my 4th Tori show and this go around she seemed a bit hurried. She also had a machine provide the the rhythms and backgrounds. I ve become a little accustomed to having at least a bassist and maybe a drummer. Not on this tour though. But she played the songs I wanted her to play, so who am I to complain? She s still got it. Tori Amos was amazing. Her voice is one of the best, if not the best in music today. Nobody else can convey emotion the way she does. Also her ability at the piano, keyboard and organ is unmatched by any other myscuan today. Who else can play piano with one hand and organ or keyboard with the other and using two mics. She never missed a note or the beat. If anyone is evenly just thinking about going, do it. You will not be disappointed. Also she does a meet and greet a few hours before the show. Who else does that today.

I have been to many Tori Amos concerts since I first fell in love with her music 19 years ago. She has been the biggest musical influence in my life. And, every time I have seen her live in concert, I am reminded even more of why that is. She plays two pianos at once, has a voice that sounds like it was sent from Heaven, and manages to have lyrical edge and depth harmonized with delicate and beautiful melodies. It all speaks to your soul in countless ways. You can only want to have more of Tori when you experience seeing her live.

Thankfully the concert started very late, as we were very late due to Obama being in L.A. that afternoon. Not sure if that was why she started 1-1/2 hours late or if that is her MO. Tori looked and sounded good. She has developed a bit of a school teacher image and attitude, due in part to age and in part to two decades of fame. My only complaint was she now sings her old songs with too much drama and not the raw edginess of the original. Her newer songs still carry that edge. Her covers were great as always. After the concert I showed my son some YouTube videos of her recent concerts and then showed him one from 1992. Quite a difference. You can check that out for yourself.

Tori Amos is more stunning than ever before. Because I arrived at the venue early (around 11 am) I was able to talk to her, get a picture with her, and she even gave me a hug! The show was outstanding as she is playing fan favorites and has been writing down requests as they come in. It is very rare that a performer is so engaged and interested in his/her fans. One-to-one and on stage she is flawless, elegant, and genuine.

I don't even know where to begin to review this show! This concert was my 5th time seeing Tori, and it was the best one yet. She was animated, talkative, and dead-on with every aspect of the show (from the music itself to the ambiance of the stage). Plus, the string quartet blew my mind! I can't wait until she releases the Little Earthquakes anniversary album next year...it's going to feature classic Tori songs re-imagined with the quartet. Simply stunning show and performance that made me fall in love with her music all over again!

This was my third live Tori concert and the best live experience. I have been captivated since Boys for Pele, listening to her beloved Bosendorfer and mastery of anything with a keyboard and willingness to fully explore an incredible range of human emotion and controversial topics. I have truly enjoyed the Night of Hunters album and have listened to it, fully, close to 20 times, but nothing compares to a live performance and Tori did not disappoint! Shattering Sea, Edge of the Moon and Battle of Trees had become my favorites on the album but Tori and the Quartet knocked it out of the park with Star Whisperer.....even without hitting the highest notes as in the studio! Loved Siren, China, Suede and Winter. I wasn't as familiar with Bachelorette, but loved that, too! The Quartet added a wonderful dimension not only to the pieces classically inspired, but to Tori's earlier work! The only difference between a violin and a fiddle is the attitude! Loved it!

The show was very amazing, Tori picks a set list everytime I see her based on where she is playing, and makes you feel as if she has known you and the crowd for years. WE got some oldies mixed with the new songs from night of the hunters. In DC she even pulled out "The Wrong Band" from the under the pink era, and mixed it right in as if it already belonged. This is a show you don't want to miss. Tori is also on your with the Apollon Musagete Quartett, they support her during her whole set. The opening guy is Thomas Dydah

I was rather disappointed by Tori Amos' show at The Chicago Theatre on August 3rd, 2009. I am a huge fan of hers, but wasn't feeling it that night. The venue itself is gorgeous, but the crowd was stuffy and I feel she picked up on that as well. She was less than personable with the audience, which surprised me. This being my 6th Tori Amos show, I am used to more interaction with her. The setlist was great, and she of course rocked the stage but the vibes weren't there.

Tori played an amazing show at the Chicago Theater last night. She played a lot of music from previous albums, and not the number ones either, which was awesome. The only complaint I have is with the staff of the theater. They tried to kick me out of the show for going up to the stage after the cue from Tori, but they singled me out of about 50 other people. This was a major problem on the last tour, so much so that Tori stopped a few shows to kick out the staff for harassing her fans. I definitely think the Theater needs to check with their performers to make sure they are complying with their wishes. Tori has been letting us rush the stage after said song since 1998!!!! Other than that, I can't wait to see her again tonight in Milwaukee....my girl!:)

August 1, 2009. DAR Constitution Hall, Washington, DC. WOW!!! Tori delivered just like I had always hoped for! I first heard her, while I was in the Navy. Deployment 1996 to the Med and Persian Gulf. I was onboard the USS San Jacinto (CG-56). The Ship's store would get boxes of CD's, and they were cheap! I saw Boys for Pele, and thought, Piano?, COOL! (I have a love for Piano, grew up taking lessons.) I WAS AN INSTANT FAN!!! I have followed her very unique, and amazing music over the years. You have to understand one thing. I am a Rock/ Heavy Metal Fan. But, I AM HOOKED to Tori's music! She is so talented, and seeing her LIVE, I mean, LIVE AND IN PERSON!!! I am still smiling from ear to ear! It was a true treat! My wife truly enjoyed the show too, and she really doesn't know anything about the music! I would love to see her again! Believe me, I will if she comes close to home again!

Tori Amos was completely awesome in Durham on July 31st 2009. I mean she kept going for 2 hours without a break, and then two encores as well. Tori blew everyone away doing a lot of her fan favorites, and a few of her new songs. The way Tori can play her piano and the organ at the time is simply amazing! Tori was very sexy this night and what she did to the song Strong Black Vine I wil never forget, and I am sure many others will not. I took my little brother with me this time, and now he thinks that Tori Amos is a very amazing, sexy, talented artists. The concert in Durham proves to me that Tori Amos is simply the best singer/songwriter of our time, and also one of the best performers.

The show and the lighting was amazing. Her voice was dead on! I think i have seen her every move because of all the shows of hers i had watched on the computer. I could tell what she was gonna do before she did it. Even all the songs before she got into them. The only thing i wish was that it was alot louder! I want to feel it !!! I had just gone to a Billy Talent concert at the Palladium Ballroom in Dallas and the show was awesome and i could feel the music in my toes. My ears had that great ringing to them just like they should be. I hope in future concerts she will have better bass and accoustics and show us that shes not getting too old for this gig. This was my first Tori Amos concert and really my only second concert ever and my expectations were very very high and my anticipation was intense. I had a great time and was not let down!

If you have never seen Tori Amos in concert, I highly recommend you do soon. This amazing singer/pianist has more conviction in one little finger than most people do in their whole body. Her performance moved me to tears and that almost never happens at a concert. To top it off, it was at the Greek Theatre, so it was at a small enough venue to be able to view and enjoy the show.

Tori never fails to disappoint me. With her huge repertoire of songs, I wondered if I'd ever hear my favorite song, ' 1000 Oceans ' which helped heal me emotionally when my Mom died. When I heard the song begin, I sank in my seat, covered my hands over my mouth and began to cry. I normally do not cry and my Niece, who was with me was taken aback. I was sort of embarrassed but then I realized, no one was paying any attention to me anyway. This by far was my favorite Tori concert to date. Thank you as always, Tori!

The Concert Happened So Quickly.... I was somewhat late due to misdirections. The atmosphere of the Greek Theatre, the outdoors gave it the timeless element that would have been found in a North American Pow Wow, before she became the United States. I found myself looking at the Stars, and the Trees, and also the Stars on the Stage. "Where'd you put the Keys? (Cornflake Girl lyrics)" is what I first recognized when I walked the 600kcal trail up to Griffith Park and the Greek Conservatory. I had wished for a second, that the symbolism in the song China, was not China, because, I am not Asian, but... NIght Vision is the Key. Tori did an excellent job. I was sad that it ended so quickly.

Her voice from a live concert is indeed, amazing; versatile, energetic, powerful and sweet. Beutiful changing stage backgrorund to go with the show. Overall enjoyable, but I had imagined her concert to be more varied, more exciting and not just ... "plain concert." I hope more of her energy and personality was revealed because I didn't know her that well yet! Hoping for a funner concert!

The Paramount Theater in Oakland, Ca. is only the MOST gorgeous theater to see anything in... but Tori fills it's walls as if somehow, decades later, she was who the theater was built for. The lighting and stage design was simply brilliant, offering loads of colors and delightful surprises. Tori's dress was made to change color with the lighting so she was constantly shifting her skin, so to speak. Her voice was pure even if the mic was a bit sharp. Her energy fantastic and her talent represented to perfection, (as it has been all three times I've seen her). She sang songs ranging from her most current album to songs from her history that my daughter has not heard her perform in any of the six concerts she's seen her in for the past ten years. Then she shocked us with a song that came to her and said, "Play me tonight." Who would have thought Tori could pull off Brittney Spears in such an amazing way!! She came out for two encores. There was a bit of "lights in the eyes" for we in the audience that got old quick, but other than that........ transforming! Wish that I had an iPhone so that my video and pix were better.

Tori played to a packed house and completely rocked the joint. The depth and texture of the music she, John Evans, and Matt Chamberlain were able able to produce as a trio was astonishing ... and her vocals were spot-on. They played a very satisfying length of time, and she covered a number of older tunes combined with my favorite tracks from the new album. She definitely still has it! (BTW, the opening band was quite good, although their set seemed somewhat short).

This was my first visit to the Paramount Theater in Oakland, and man is it gorgeous! A huge, beautifully cared-for Art Deco theater, big enough to be impressive but small enough to feel fairly intimate (to be fair, I bought pre-sale tickets and sat in Row D). On accident, before the show, my friend and I were lucky enough to stumble on the signing, and meet Tori and get pictures and signatures. This was my fourth Tori show but my first signing, and I was blown away by how kind, patient and conscientious Tori is with the fans. She made sure to say hi to everyone, she asked questions, gave hugs, and smiled for picture after picture. Few artists do that any more. It was fantastic. It was also adorable that her daughter Tash was killing some time by chalking the sidewalk next to the tour buses - she left some really funny art! The show was (of course) amazing - Tori is a performer of the highest caliber, and really plays to the audience. Plus, her voice and music are at least as good live as recorded. And her bandmates are terrific artists. It was a memorable show, to say the least!

Concert was awesome, puts on a really good show. Really enjoyed the use of lights and colors to the songs. If you get a chance to see her this tour you gotta go, the opening act One Eskimo rocks.

This is the second time my wife and I have gone to see Tori Amos. She never disappoints. Aside from being amazing on the piano, she is very personal with the audience. In the middle of the show, the two guys from her band took a break to "go grab a beer" and she stayed on stage and had an intimate chat with the audience and played a little on her own. This is typically not my kind of music, but I love watching her perform.

She came out in a long-blue dress with a huge flower-petal type collar and black leggings. She opened the show with the trip-hop groove of Give. When she played Caught A Lite Sneeze next, I had a feeling that it was going to be a great evening. And boy, was it one. She had good energy and got the audience moving on her up-tempo numbers. Well, as much as her polite audience moves in her shows. No standing up and dancing, just head rocking and body moves while seated. It was nice that she played several b-sides and when she sang a cover of Joni Mitchell s River, the girl seated next to me cried. Ok, fine, I admit it, it was I who did the crying. I just love the song and her rendition of it was so powerful. Too bad concerts at Schnitzer Hall need to end at 11 p.m. She was supposed to do two encores but did just one. She didn t get to sing Police Me (a personal favorite from the new album) and Curtain Call. I was able to get the set list with her hand-written notes on them after the show. My other issue with the show was that she didn t interact more with the audience. The only time she spoke was when she introduced the band, then mentioned how nice it was to spend the day in Portland without having to go around a flood, referencing the last time she was in town a couple of years back when the Interstate 5 was flooded and impassable due to severe storms. But these were trivial matters. She sounded great and she could still hit those high notes, especially when she s going off and wailing in numbers like Black-Dove (January) and Little Earthquakes. When the lights came on after the show, people in the front where I was seated took a little bit of time just standing around, talking and generally just letting it all sink in before calling it a night.

Tori's opening night of her Sinful Attraction tour was amazing. She played a good range of songs from all her albums. My favorites of the night were Big Wheel and Precious Things. She sang "Bells for Her", that almost drove me to tears, the raw emotion she evoked with that song was unparalleled. Tori did a meet and greet before the show, she looked fabulous and spent a few minutes with each fan talking with them, signing autographs and posing for pictures.

Well Tori was in excellent form tonight - for the kick off of this tour. What I was more surprised about was the venue. The WaMu (Chase ?) Theater was actually a very nice place. A bit more sterile then I usually like, but you can't beat the fact that it was designed for concert acoustics. There wasn't an echo in the building and you could her Tori, the piano, and her band just perfectly. I love the set that Tori did tonight. It was the perfect mix of old and new - and she pulled a few surprises out that I had not heard in a long time. To that, she also rearranged some of the 'oldies' to give them a new boost - it was awesome. So overall, a great night ...

San Diego show was a major disappointment. Possibly the last time I pay a high ticket price to see Tori, which is sad. Zero fan interaction or story telling. Too many fanatics screaming every time she looked up or switched positions, trying to convince themselves they were seeing a mid-90s quality show. Actually had to check my phone for the time at a few points. The voice was still there, but the effort and passion was not.

As expected, she puts on a wonderful show. Her voice is still amazing. BUT, I did have one issue. The lack of popular songs. I knew some of the songs but none that made her famous. The last three times I've seen her I was hoping to hear her do "Precious Things" yet I paid to hear songs I wasn't aware of. In that respect, I also saw Depeche Mode this year. 3 songs from the new album and 13 songs from their past which made them famous. Which also made it worth seeing them. Because I love Tori Amos, I will continue to see her in concert but if your looking to hear certain songs before you spend the money, just go online an view a setlist from another show. She's still one of the best. Just to hear that voice live is worth the money itself.

You will never know until you experience it for yourself. I wish I could have seen her more throughout my life. I began listening to her at 11 in 98 and only wish I could have discovered her sooner and had parents that could have taken me to see her!

Beautiful venue, helpful staff, and comfortable seats. Disappointed with the lack of beer selection. No local breweries represented, and rather basic wine selection too. Show had amazing sound and thrilling light show to accompany the music. Show time was 9:00, she didn't start until almost 9:15. Her 1 hr 15 min set was too short, however it was high energy from start to finish. Tori puts 110% into every show, and this tour she had no backing band, but she used lots of overdubs and overlaying vocals to add multiple layers to her already powerful presence on stage. It was disconcerting that used sheet music, although for this tour she has performed almost 100 different songs so there is a lot of music to cover as her setlists are so different from night to night. There were some awkward pauses in some songs, so made me wonder if she was a little off. Loved that fans scream out in joy when they hear their favorite lines from a song. Setlist covered many albums with lots of covers - it was nice getting hearing Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus and Fleetwood Mack's Landslide - totally Torified. Her lyrics are highly evolved, and I believe she might be an alien as she surely doesn't seem to be from this world.

Must admit not knowing many of Tori's songs before this concert....but always liked what I heard and always admired her for her free spirit and unique-ness. I thought, this girl has been around forever, she's a woman in the prime of her career....it's time to go see her! Love the DPAC in Durham for shows like this also, awesome place. Boy does Tori deliver! An absolute killer performance, great vocals, beautiful keyboard playing, varied and entertaining show!! Being ultra familiar with her songs (and those fans were there) not really needed to enjoy her experience. The lighting and visual show matches her performance nicely. Opening act Scars on 45 were great also....completely different from Tori, yet complimentary musically. They're a young band who deserves support with nice vocals, keys and guitar work in finely crafted songs. Two thumbs up for both! Go see them!

As always, Tori Amos performed some of her soul reaching songs. She understands the workings of the heart, in love or hurting. She gives justification for the pain some are feeling and strength to find a way out.

I haven't seen Tori perform in twenty years...it was a treasured opportunity for me to see her in Atlanta. She is my favorite artist, and hearing and seeing her live was incredibly moving. Not only did she perform her own music as astoundingly as ever, but her rendition of "Starry Starry Night," which is one of my favorite songs, brought such tears to my eyes, so achingly sweet was her voice. Tori amazes just as much now as she ever did, and I truly hope I don't have to wait another twenty years to see her!

Very intimate show, just Tori and her pianos. She commanded the stage and bonded with the audience like the true goddess she is. Some of her song selections for the night really surprised the audience, songs that we have not heard in some time ("Fire On the Side" and "Take Me With You"). "Vincent" was a huge surprise. "Running Up That Hill" meshed with "God" was beautiful. "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" had us all cheering. I know that this concert had a huge impact on me. I love how that at Tori's shows brings her fans together. The lady next to me I did not even know but we comforted each other through the night as we cried and sang along.

This was my 5th(?) time seeing Tori Amos over a 23(?) yr time span. My 1st at the Beacon. She spent little to no time engaging with the audience as opposed to previous times I've seen her - not sure if that was a conscious choice or just a consequence of getting older and just wanting to "get it over with" - but either way it seemed to mean more music got played with minimal down time between songs. Her voice was in point, not a note out of place, light show was great ... great show. The opening act was 'Scars on 45'. Very simple laid back acoustic trio. Could NOT have been more please with an opening act or a new band experience. Next morning I bought both their releases on iTunes. Great time over all.

Tori does a different set list every night, whereas most acts just mail in the same set list every night. The energy id different but not faded. We are all getting older. The voice has softened and she is a lot less quirky but is selling out every show. See her now as she will be wrapping up things before we know it!

Still at the top of her game. Her voice and her musicianship have not wavered a bit. It's a tribute to her now extensive oeuvre that she can break out a number of lesser known song and still generate thunderous applause. I only wished she had played longer!

A friend recently asked me: "You did Tori?" To which (Unfamiliar as she likely is to the details of Tori's personal life) I replied: "Waaeelllll, her divorce is still pretty fresh so, we agreed to keep it out of the public eye for a while, you know... But you and I go way back so- I would say it's more like she did me. She went aaaaaalll through me, it was electric!!"
