Had a great time at the dead man's party concert in the hanger. Aside from a little bit of muddied sound, perhaps from the shape of the building had a great time. Suggest they use more and better speakers. And for all those in the audience who brought their little kids shame on you. The kind of loud noise is not pleasurable to little kids like infants and toddlers!

If you liked Oingo Boingo, you'd love this tribute band, Dean Man's Party. We went for different reasons. Place was packed, guess everyone loves to hear the music even if not the original performers. Best part: the After Hours Show: Midnight Hour played and they were the best - great vocals, fabulous lyrics, incredible music. Watch this band - they are on their way to being HUGE!!! I absolutely loved this show and will see Dead Man's Party again. They are a very talented group and they do an amazing job of recreating the excitement for which Boingo will forever be known. I had fun dancing and singing along to my favorite Oingo Boingo tunes. This was one of the best shows I have seen in a long time!

Dead Man's Party, the Oingo Boingo Tribute band, played at the OC Fair this year. We LOVED It! I loved the crowd, was mixed with ages, of Oingo Boingo Fans, that were there for the music of nostalgia, and their kids being introduced to the music of our youth. a Whole new generation loving this music. DMP was awesome! This is our first time seeing them, and we are hooked!

We had great seats at the Hangar in the O.C. Fairgrounds close to the front of the stage. If it weren't for the obnoxious couple sitting behind us drunk-talking loudly about their relationship, it would have been the perfect concert! Dead Man's Party is probably one of the best if not THE best tribute band we have ever seen, and we've seen a lot of them. They are all extraordinary musicians in their own right, and to have them play some of the best music the 80's ever spun is even better. The fans were all either on their feet dancing or singing along with the band. This is the 5th time we've seen Dead Man's Party, and plan to see them again when we can. The Hangar is a great venue with the added bonus of free fair admission with the purchased concert ticket. Awesome time!

If you loved Oingo Boingo you will love Dead Man's Party! The band is so good, that if you close your eyes you think your are really listening to Oingo Boingo. But don't close your eyes because the band really puts on a show. The horn section is amazing and the lead singer can hit all the Danny Elfman notes. I didn't sit down the entire time, can't wait to see them again!

Sooo... I HAD to look up the show schedule for the Oct. 30th Galaxy show, because my experience just wasn't the same as the other reviews below. They scheduled Richard Elfman's movie "The Forbidden Zone" to play from 7:00 - 8:15, The Mutaytor (the opening band) at 8:45 & DMP at 10:15. I wasn't exactly hovering over my watch, but that's pretty much the way I remember it going down. I don't know where the information that the opening band was supposed to go on at 8:00 came from, but both the Galaxy & DMP had the above schedule listed. I'm just sayin'...

I agree with the last two reviews that the show did not seem to go as smoothly as hoped. There were obviously some sound issues that held things up, but I went to re-live the Oingo Boingo experience I remember from the 80's, and Dead Man's Party & their "Danny" brought it! I've been a fan of these guys since day one, and over the last 10 years it seems that every show just gets better! 2.5 hours of Boingo tunes is nothing to complain about in my opinion...

The show was supposed to start at 8 but the opening band didn't make it on the stage until 9. Then they played for an entire hour, and THEN we had to wait another whole hour before the real band actually made it on the stage. I give them 2 stars because they played for 2.5 hours and the lead singer and band members were entertaining and enthusiastic but we didn't even stay for the encore song just because the whole show ended up being like 6 hours of standing up and it was soo late by the time it was over. No one wants to hear the opening band play more than 3 or 4 songs and no one wants to spend 2 hours standing and doing nothing either.

I was extremely disappointed in the way the Galaxy theater put on the show. Not only did the opening band start 40 minutes late and then play for over an hour, but Dead Man's Party did not start until about an hour after that. More upsetting than all this, though, was the fact that there were some serious issues with the sound. The overall sound was very muffled, but the biggest problem was the fact that the microphone frequently stopped working for large periods of time or suddenly started working again and gave really loud feedback. This is really not acceptable - people go to concerts to hear music, and if you can't hear it then it's not even worth it.

I would recc this to a friend, but warn them that they need to confirm when the main band will be onstage and skip all the intro stuff. That 2 hour wait was frustrating and felt like the audience was being tortured! It was very unprofessional and felt like we were all getting a bad joke played on us! As for Johnny Vato and the band, they were excellent and sounded like I remember back in the day! If they wouldn't have been so good I would have demanded my money back!

I have never seen this band before but love old school Oingo Boingo and the guys didn't disappoint. Had I closed my eyes I would have been transported back to the late 80's. They we so good, I want to go see them again. I'm not much for tribute bands but these guys have been at it since 2001 and truly they were so tight, everything sounded just like it used to back in the day. They even play songs from Danny Elfman's solo album. They only songs missing were from Food for Feet one of the other band spin offs from Boingo.

For those old school fans, you will almost believe you have been transported back to 1984 and have just as much fun. DMP play's all the hits and you won't be disappointed. Lots of the mature fans brought their kids and most of the novelty was missed on them, but who cares? It's a Dead Man's Party, who could ask for more?

Good times. if you grew up like I did, in OC and lost count of how many times you went to an Oingo Boingo concert, especially the Halloween one- go see this band. they pay honest tribute, good times, have a solid fan base. People were dancing in the aisles, but you had a place to sit if needed ( lets be honest, a lot of us at the show were over 45! ) I think the sound was off for the first 2 songs, and they struggled but it got better, and they go through it. HOWEVER NOTE TO THE FAIR- / Sound man. The opening history of the fair movie was LOUDER than the actual concert, and sadly, the mixing was off, we could not hear our lead singers voice over the instruments. the horn section rocked it, and they were good at whipping up the crowd into a happy frenzy. Yes.. we are going next year. Thanks DMP! not a fan of sitting on the side, the speaker that hang are in the way of the stage and big screen.

My boyfriend and our friends we brought to the show had a blast! It was overall a very fun, energetic, upbeat show as always. However, I will say they had some sound issues right out of the gate when they began. My boyfriend and I have both been in the music industry, so we noticed the chaos right away. Once they fixed the sound we had a great time. Except when bombarded with drunk people falling into us. But it's the fair, what are you going to do about that one. Buy your tickets early! I must have waited one day too long. They sell out FAST! Get a seat. Don't do general admission.

What a great show Dead Man's party put on! Although the singer did not look or even act like Danny E from Oingo Boingo, he was a great lead man. He did a great song of singing the best of the Boingo tunes. The band was fantastic. They were so energetic and spot on with Oingo Boingo's music. This was the first Dead Man's Party show I've been to but I will see them again!

These guys did a fabulous job of giving us the Oingo Boingo experience. I saw OB many times in the eighties and this band really did a great job of bringing us some of the best music and most awesome concert experiences I ever had. If you love Oingo Boingo I highly recommend getting a chance to see these guys while they're still at it... Ha we had the chart upside down & thought we had front row seats! They were actually BACK ROW seats! But it didn't matter the Hangar isn't that big and no one stayed in their seats anyway!

I have seen this band 5 times now, all the times were excellent, this last time the sound not so good. The drummer was sloppy, and very band equalization on the sound, no bass, and the rest of the sound was totally un balanced for sure. I will continue to see them,

What an incredible show! The lead singer is SPOT on for Elfman! Truly enjoyable. The ONLY problem was the lack of air...more fans or AC need to be on in the hangar. I would go again in a heartbeat though. AWESOME!

Great show! Great Venue! Great seats! We could not have been happier. DMP rocked it for 90+ minutes with a 3 song encore, finishing with the appropriate Goodbye Goodbye. They were joined for the last 6-7 songe by Trombonist Dale Turner from Boingo. Great energy from the entire band. unfortunately it was the trumpet players last gig with the band after 13 years.

A very fun show with all the sounds you would expect from Oingo Boingo, including Xylophone. Show started right on time and lasted about 1:45 min. If you like the horn seection this is a good show - they played a couple songs that feature the 3 horn players. My only minor complaint: I would have liked a few more songs.

These guys are my favorite coverband, but I really think this was one of my favorite DMP shows. They rocked, as usual, and made for a great night. I was such a Boingo devotee, and having this band playing so often in SD just really makes me happy. The stage was also graced with 2 other 80s cover bands - Smart Patrol (Devo) and Cursed (Cure), who were excellent. Special thanks to Cursed, who washed my mind of the last AWEFUL Cure cover band we saw...

This tribute band does a great job and would make Oingo Boingo proud! They are full of energy and play all their songs. My favorite time to see them is the at Halloween gig where everyone dresses up in costume. I highly recommend them!! The Nightmare Before Christmas set is fun too :)

If you know anything about the quirky yet great Oingo Boingo Dead Mans Party is a must see. An excellent band that note for note is as good as the original

My daughter and I surprised my husband and my Son for their birthdays. Huge success as they were very surprised and very happy. Both are HUGE boingofans. My husband and I have seen Danny and the boys several times back in the day, but our son unfortunately, not alive yet when the group was together. The closest our boy got to seeing Boingo was shortly after he was conceived, at the fair well show. He was stoked being able to see the Tribute Band this past Friday at the OC Fair. Thanks guys

DMP has the true energy of OINGO BOINGO at a live concert. My kids and I not only saw both concerts at the OC Fair; but we traveled up from Orange County to Conejo Park in Augura Hills to see them on a Sunday afternoon. Worth the drive.

These guys came out and played non-stop, full out Boingo. They were marking the 30th anniversary of the Only A Lad album and played the entire thing without stopping for chit-chat. Then they played a bunch of other favorites and did a 4 or 5 song encore. The band is very animated and keep the energy going. Everyone was on their feet the whole time. They were fantastic!

If you closed your eyes and listened to the music it would take you back to Halloween in the eighties. When you opened them and watched it was a perfect tribute. I appreciated the deep cuts and B sides.

The band was incredible as always! Sound was great. Seats were great. (tho I do wish it was open standing instead of all seats...) But it was incredibly HOT in there! I probably won't see them there again. I wanted to dance!

I have seen DMP 6 times and I am a huge fan, this is my 3rd DMP at the Hanger and there is not a bad seat in the house. BUTTTTTT this concert the band seemed to be a little out of sorts, the speaker system was inadequate for the venue and there was obvious confusion and tension between band members. The encore was lackluster and lost the momentum of the crowd, if they would have thrown in Sweat it might have saved the last set. I hate to say it but stick with the Best of and do what you do best. Still love DMP just seemed to me to be a off night.

They are awesome and so close to the real thing, Oingo Boingo. It is a blessing to have the opportunity to once again experience the brilliance of Danny Elfman. It was awesome... LOVED IT....
