Seriously this was so amazing! I have told everyone I know to go see this! I've seen a lot of musicals and plays throughout life and 'A Christmas Carol' is one of my favorite stories and this completely lived up to my expectations! Such an amazing Scrooge! Loved every minute!

Sets were outstanding and cleverly changed. Period costumes added to the authentic look. Very well done. The grandchildren thought there was too much singing but the adults enjoyed both singing and dancing. The only downside was difficulty understanding the words at times because of the British accent and speed at which lines were delivered. Overall, lovely performance and a wonderful way to start off the Christmas season.

The play, "A Christmas Carol", itself was very good but the sound system was the worst in any play that I have ever been to. At times, you could not understand a thing that was said. When you cannot understand what they are saying, you lose interest very easily.

First of all...the Ohio Theater is beautiful! It's one of those places that you just set and stare at all the awesome things. The organist was also wonderful...so many different sounds coming from that organ. The play/musical was very good...the actors did a great job. There were a few times that I couldn't hear the lines and there seemed to be a little confusion when to move the spots to an actor who was speaking...but overall...those things didn't matter...they did a great job. The actor playing Scrooge was amazing...he was on stage most of the evening and was very professional and entertaining. It was a birthday present for my wife and I want to thank you for a wonderful evening.

The play was enjoyable, as it has been for the last 5 years that I've seen it. This is the first year we took our four-year-old daughter and she loved it. She wanted to get a closer look at the ghosts, especially Marley. Every year, the play has a few subtle changes. This year the cast appeared to be smaller (I noticed that during Fezziwig's party, there were fewer couples dancing). However, the one change that I couldn't get past was the actor who played Tiny Tim. He was walking normally throughout the play and he wasn't small at all. The play is centered around the frail Tiny Tim who will succumb to his illness if Scrooge doesn't change his attitude about Christmas. It just was an odd casting choice. Other than that, the cast was highly talented and entertaining. We will continue our family tradition and return next year.

This year we saw a different side of Ebenezer Scrooge; he had a bit of humor added to his character which made him a bit more endearing. Also, the Bob Cratchitt character was allowed to be a bit more humorous which rounded out his character as well.

Our extended family had louge seats for the performance. The costumes, staging and music were very well done. However, when it came to lights and sound, there were some issues. On several occasions, the spot was well behind the lines and the actor spoke in the dark. Also, the sound needed to be a little louder. Some lines were lost. If these issues are corrected, we feel it would be a worthwhile show to recommend to friends.

I enjoyed Christmas Carol. The scenes were effective and the singing and acting good. The funny scens were not necessary and may have taken some of the effects of the play away, however I realize the director was tring to please all attendees, esp. the young crowd. I was surprised at the number of children in the audience who apparently enjoyed the play. WE certainly need to nurture the young generation with traditions like Christmas Carol. I had not felt any Christmas spririt before I saw this play, caught up with a busy schedule and little money, however the seats were affordable and I found myself singing along with the carols and thoroughly enjoying the play. The Black Mark was that our own Clark Wilson played the Morton Organ as splendidly as ever before, at intermission and after the play yet he was not mentioned ANYWHERE on the program. This oversight should never have happened.

My dad and his side of the family drove up for Thanksgiving in Columbus this year. We try to see if there Christmas Carol once a year. This year since everybody was together we just decided to do it a little early. This particular performance was amazing, and possibly my favorite. Even though I've seen this show and heard the story countless times. I still got emotional and even brought a few tears to my eyes. Parking was affordable and close (we parked at the Ohio State House). The Ohio Theater what is amazing. Tickets were fairly priced. My only negative about this venue was our seats, and after the show was over I noticed nearly all the seats have the nearly no legroom. I think next year we might do it early in Ohio again.

While I have attended many performances of a Christmas Carol, this one was a bit different. Of course the story line was the same but it was evident that there was a new director for this production. To me, it fell short of the usual high standards of this production company. The individual actors were very good but the company together did not seem to have the magic as in the past. Never the less, the performance was very enjoyable. Voices were superb and they blended beautifully. The sound system seemed to be almost "too loud" as the dialogue was garbled at times. A very enjoyable evening to kick off this festive season.

After going to see this play just about every year since my daughter was young (she is now 39) and now bringing my grandsons I was very disappointed with the fund raising at the end of the play. After paying $175. for tickets, getting emails and letters and phone calls year around it kind of took the magic away.

This was advertised as a kid friendly production. Although I enjoyed it, I don't think it was aimed at kids. Basically, it was difficult to understand the British accents, even for me, let alone the children, and I have friends who are Brits! The performers had wonderful singing voices. There was a microphone problem with one character which hindered understanding what he was saying. It was a nice idea to take Tiny Tim from the audience, but at our performance we could not hear either of his important lines (and we were in the 7th row), including "God bless us every one'" ever so important to the story. Great costumes and innovative scenery and scenery changes. For adults, this was fine, but for kids, not so much.

A Christmas carol play was so wonderful. From the moment they opened the doors and the old fashioned carolers were singing on stage. As the theater filled they engaged the audience and had us singing with them and shaking our keys to jingle bells. As the curtain raised it was immediate action of townspeople doing their Christmas shopping outside old ebenezzers home. There wasn't a dull moment. All the cast were great. We will definitely see another play at meadowbrook theater.

We love ACC, and enjoy seeing it interpreted in different ways on film and at the theater. This production was fabulous, and truly captured the essence of this timeless story of redemption. We had never been to Ford's Theater in D.C. and it is a great venue ! My only complaint was the difficulty in leaving. We parked in the valet deck that is adjacent to the theater, which has an elevator that goes directly to the theater lobby. Arrival was smooth - unfortunately, with everyone trying to use the single elevator at one time + have a valet retrieve their vehicle, it took almost an hour to get out. Suggestion: use one of the nearby self park decks. Otherwise, we had a perfect afternoon !

I have not gone to A Christmas Carol for years since both my kids are now in college. But I have gone several times when they were young. But when I heard Ed Gero, the remarkable and talented actor from Red, was to play Scrooge, I decided to go again. Ed Gero was lovely, as always. But the production was magnificent. The actors came out first and talked to the audience in character. They sang lots of carols. I was so happy when I left and have decided to buy more tickets so my whole family can go. Excellent work by all. Thank you Ford's Theater and thank you, Ed Gero and crew. You were all lovely.

A Christmas Carol by Dickens is my favorite fictional holiday story. It has great meaning & is relevant today. The cast & crew at this Ford's Theatre production were awesome , they made it a must see event for the holidays. My Wife & I were so happy we chose this experience to start off the season. In addition seeing this at Ford's Theatre was incredible. We were sitting a few seats away from the Box where President Abraham Lincoln saw his last performance. A Christmas Carol comes to life at Meadowbrook Theatre. We have seen the show for several years now. It's not just a show; it is an experience. From the time the lights dim and the carolers begin singing to the final curtain, we are transported to another time and place. A Dickens place and time. I should have realized this would not be comparable to The Goodman's Theater's version when it was general admission seating. It was a 45 minute show with the likes of a high school production. It was what it was, but way below the level of entertainment the Rialto typically offers. Will not see it again.

This is the 2nd time we saw this play. We brought our adult kids back with us and they loved it too. I think we will make this a tradition every year. The actors, stage, outfits etc are so wonderful. I think any age would love this play.

This was my first time to this theater to see one of their plays. This was a most enjoyable play to watch. The actors were great and funny. My husband and I both found it spiritually uplifting. We will definitely be back next year to see "A Christmas Carol". I must mention the 'before show' carolers. It was such a pleasure listening to Christmas carols sung acappella by very talented singers. I definitely recommend going to see this play.

I was surprised by this being a musical, but well done nonetheless. My kids like musicals if they are familiar with the music. They were a bit down on the amount of singing (as was I), but we all enjoyed the show. Acting, stage, music, effects were all excellent.
