Put on an old fashioned rock concert with great vocals and instrumental and interesting stories on his life enjoyed the show and Burton sounded great. I seen him in 1977, 1994, 2017

Burton Cummings--"The Voice of the (original) Guess Who" and writer/singer/player of countless hits including "American Woman," "No Time," and "Stand Tall" -- is the best showman I've ever seen. He steals your heart so that you keep going back to pay it a visit. No autotune, smoke, or mirrors but an apparently endless landscape of genuine, unique talent and energy -- and somehow perfection gets better. Definitely not a show to miss. (But, imo, unless you're a fan of unartistic noise and poor imitation, best to avoid the Burton-less band now calling itself "The Guess Who." Out of fairness, I went to see them. Unforgettable, but I wish I could.) To me, The Guess Who was and always will be the sound of Burton Cummings' unique and powerful voice. Fantastic artist and show with a talented band.

Burton's show was a great time. Kind of like a mashup between a high school dance in the 1970's and a concert for oldies. I think the median age was 60. But since I am in the demographic and like rock and roll I would definitely go again.

Burton Cummings event truly was beyond amazing. He truly is a deserving superstar. The band is a fantastic backup for him. I have not enjoyed a concert as much as I enjoyed this one. Thank you Burton Cummings for such a great time. Last time I saw Burton was in Edmonton as a opening act for Dino, Desi and Billy back in 67.

I saw Burton Cummings at the Skagit Casino on Friday night. Amazing show. He still has one of the best voices in R&R history. Every song was known by everyone there as he has such a huge library of hit songs. He played mostly Guess Who classics, but he also played one of his own and a couple of other cover tunes. Credit to Burton he not only allows but encourages photos, audio and video. Overall amazing night.

There's no equal to Burton Cummings on any stage. And he just keeps getting better. A must-see. The audience was cheering, standing, and rockin' in the aisles. Cummings' love for music and entertaining is contageous, so that it's almost impossible not to love his performance. He's a brillaint keyboardist. Plays guitar, harp, and flute, as well. The main attraction, however, is "The Voice"-- wow!!! -- an incomparable element of rock history. For me, there never has been and isn't now any better voice. And leaving after the show, I overheard someone say that they didn't expect him to have such a great band. He definitely does. Never seen anyone in any in a Burton Cummings audience less than blown away by his show. See for yourself if you have the chance.

The four of us left MA at 2 PM and arrived at Mohegan Sun about 3:30PM. A line was already forming at 4:00PM so we got in line. While we waited the Carpet Frogs came out and did a few warm up numbers. They sounded really good! I saw Nick Sinopoli and went over to say hello and compliment the Frogs. He was nice. While my wife held our spot in line I gambled and lost. Finally, at 6:30PM we were seated in the Wolf Den, which holds about 500 people about 15 feet from Burton to his left. People can stand around the perimeter and watch the show. The nice thing about this venue is the tables and padded chairs. Waitresses brought drinks to keep us primed before the show. Non-alcohol beer for me with me being the designated driver. I talked to Sam and gave him the boots, shirt, poster, and Melanie cards I had brought. Sam promised to give them to Burton. A few frogs came out at 7:30PM to do a check. As it turned 8:00PM the Carpet Frogs took the stage and a nicely done video of Burton through the years ran on the screen to the song, Pretty Pictures. Burton came onto the stage opening the show with No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature. Burton s voice sounded fresh, strong, and clear and the Frogs were tight and the fans responded. Burton then performed Albert Flasher and the crowd was rockin . He thanked the crowd and mentioned the Faithful, especially Ellen Gallo, several times by name. Clap for the Wolfman was next and the crowd responded. Last time I saw Burton live was 2002 and his vocal cords were giving him problems. Not so tonight as Burton sounded as good as ever! Next, was Laughing and his favorite GW song Guns, Guns, Guns. Burton told the crowd how he had not included the next song in the set for a long time. He told them he would try his best, but he delivered the goods as he sang Stand Tall without any problems. Burton dedicated Hand Me Down World to Kurt Winter and had the crowd rockin again. My wife was happy with her favorite tune from Above the Ground, Rollaway. Burton said they have not been doing Undun in a while and said it may be a little rough but it was on a double sided 45 hit. The band nailed it. Bus Rider got the crowd rockin again after Burton gave credit to Kurt for writing it. These Eyes was next and Burton said it has been played 4 million times on US radio and how it changed their lives. As the band went into the Areviderci Girl and The Roast Beef is Gone intro some in the crowd knew that American Woman was coming. It was a great rendition with Burton thanking Lenny Kravitz for covering it Star Baby was next and well done as well. Then the news came that they could play longer than originally thought. Burton said the next song is well known in Canada and was from Dream of a Child. The crowd seemed to like Break It to Them Gently, especially Burton and Nick bouncing oldies off each other. When Burton picks up a guitar you know that it is No Time. Slowing things down Burton played Rhapsody with fine singing and piano after the Frogs had left the stage. Burton asked the crowd to make some noise and the frogs returned and Burton said he studied this song for years as they broke into a fine cover of Louie Louie. As it came time to close the show with the 18th song of the set Burton spoke of his wishing well to Americans and the USA. He was happy with the evening and the crowd s response that had quieted any doubts he had about touring the US again. The set ended with Share the Land and Burton singing as well as he had all through the one hour and 40 plus minute show. And it was free! Everyone went home happy! I got to meet Ellen Gallo who has some really nice photos as she sat in the front row. I am sure you will be seeing them here shortly. I just hope it is not another nine years before I see Burton again!

He may be 63 years old, but Burton Cummings hasn't lost a step. The legendary Canadian rocker proved this time and time again, during a magnificent trip down memory lane Tuesday night at Montreal's Olympia Theatre. From the opening guitar chords of No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature to the show's final encore - the anthemic Share the Land - it was clear that the former frontman of the Guess Who is sounding better than he has in years. A decision to quit smoking more than two years ago certainly hasn't hurt. There are very few North American singers that have the music catalogue of Cummings. He has penned and sung some of the most recognizable songs on the planet - American Woman, These Eyes, No Time, Laughing, Stand Tall, I'm Scared, Break It To Them Gently... and countless others - providing a soundtrack for a generation. Montreal was the third stop in his cross North America tour that began May 6 in Moncton, N.B. For some reason - through no fault of Cummings and his crackerjack band, the Carpet Frogs - it took the crowd a few songs to wake up and finally get on their feet. A roar of recognition greeted the unmistakable opening piano riff to These Eyes - the song that Cummings says changed his life and those of his fellow Guess Who band mates forever. The crowd was soon standing when the band launched into My Own Way to Rock, a classic toe tapper in the style of the one and only Fats Domino. One of the big surprises was the inclusion of Stand Tall in the setlist. Despite it being his most recognizable solo hit, he hasn't attempted to sing the power ballad in almost two decades - perhaps fearing that in the past he couldn't reach all the high notes. Not a problem this time. Highlights were lengthy versions of American Women and Break It To Them Gently. The latter had Cummings and band mate Nick Sinopoli trading snippets of their favourite songs from the bygone days of the transistor radio. There were shout outs to the fans: - "Best crowd so far!", and the Montreal Canadiens: "I mean, what would hockey be without the Habs. The CH crest will live on forever!" He even sang a small ditty en français for the Quebec 'Faithful'. Cummings has always been a masterful showman. Anecdotes, impersonations, quirky facial expressions and his underrated keyboard playing leave him few rivals in the industry. What has always set Cummings apart from his peers, however, is his voice. Oh, that Voice! The man is blessed with the best set of pipes this side of Elvis Presley and Bobby Darin. Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant was once asked "If you could sing like someone else, who would it be?" He answered, "Burton Cummings." There were no pyrotechnics, he didn't need autotune, and he didn't arrive on stage in a giant egg. What you got, however, was more than two hours of amazing music performed by a Canadian treasure. And that was enough to drive everyone gaga.

What can I say about this concert!! It was AMAZING!! Burton's voice was the best I ever heard it. I seen him in the 80's, 90's, 2008, and last year in Lansing--and his voice was the best!, I've ever heard! He was very connected with the crowd and the crowd with him!! The Burton Cummings Band (The Carpet Frogs) were also great! What great musicians!! I brought my daughter with me who was raised on his music and she was very impressed!! FIVE STARS!! ((I wish I had better pics to post as my camera does this concert no justice!!-my friends had many to share but these are mine))

An audience of five thousand rocked in the aisles as Burton Cummings exercised his skillful piano fingers and his legendary and incomparable voice for two and a half hours, playing and singing his yard-long list of hits, including "American Woman" and "These Eyes." Burton's backing band, the Carpet Frogs at least equal, perhaps improve upon, the original Guess Who band configurations. The only thing lacking was another 2.5 hours. Do not miss Burton Cummings--the singer and showman of a lifetime. And best not to accept any substitute using the Guess Who name, because "The Voice" that made the name famous is performing over at the Burton Cummings show.

Burton played for two wonderful hours. The ahow was awesome from the first song "no sugar tonight/new mother nature". He played hit after hit, "american woman", "these eyes", "no time",and "laughing" to name a few. Also he played songs like "stand tall", "timeless love", "gun guns guns" and "sour suite". I was dancing in my seat. The carpet frogs are a tight band, they sounded so good. I left the show very satisfied. This was also my third show of this tour (Toronto 2010, clear lake 7/2011). After the show I met two of the band members Dave and nicky and got their autographs. The northern light theatre is avery nice intimate venue for a show.

Burton Cummings, formerly The Guess Who, now touring as a solo artist with the Carpet Frogs, blew the audience away with his clear mastery of voice and keyboard. Time isn't kind to many of the 60's era rockers, but Cummings not only sounds amazing, he looks amazing, too. Charming and personal, he reminisced with the audience about moments and inspirations for many of his best-loved songs. The crowd loved him and the warmth and affection exuded from the audience and from Burton back, who delivered an upbeat two-hour performance of great song after great song. Taking on almost a party atmosphere, Cummings called out to friends and his "faithful" whom he recognized in the audience, at one point spotting an old Winnipeg friend who knew him in his teen garage-band days with the Deverons. It was an amazing night and an unforgettable music experience.

This concert wasn't billed as a solo act, it was just Burton and his piano. He sounded good but most of the Guess Who songs need to have the sound of a band behind Burton. There wasn't any harmonizing which most songs need. It was very disappointing to walk into the theater and only see his piano and not a band! I would have thought twice about buying tickets had I known it was going to be just him.

As Always Burton Cummings had a great time entertaining all of us that were at the Colosseum Friday night. He enjoys his fans as much as they enjoy him. He played all the old tunes and kept everyone dancing in their seats, in the aisles, in front of the stage. Even saw the security dancing in the aisles! I've had the good luck to see him 5 times and each one of them has been a good time. And the Colosseum is a great venue - not a bad seat to be had.

The voice of Guess Who, Cummings works harder than ever to deliver a classic show free of all the trappings normally associated with a concert. For him, it is all about the music, the pure presentation without any studio tricks or tracks, and delivered with a genuine love of The music and an obvious appreciation for his audiences. He incorporates historical stories of the composition of the music into his shows. Just enough talk to keep it interesting and pertinent, and more than enough music to satisfy the listener. So nice to see a man comfortable with himself, appreciative of his audience, and in love with his craft. Huey Lewis may have well been describing Burton Cummings when he sang the heart of rock and roll it is still beating. The quality of the band that he has assembled is extraordinary. Very tight sound, and great harmonies. Besides that, they are just having fun.

Finally got a chance to see one of the great singers of the 1960s, 70s and 80s... who at nearly 70 has lost little of his vocal skills from his heyday. His band is superb as well. He told stories throughout the show, most of which were interesting and fun. Only quibble... I wish he would sing a few more songs from his days as single performer, including "I Will Play a Rhapsody."

This was the first time I've seen him perform live since loving their music back in the late 60's and early 70's. His voice has changed a bit in 50 years, but not that much. The songs were performed exceptionally well with his 5 fellow musicians providing extraordinary vocals and instruments. One thing that stood out was how good of a keyboard player Burton is. Burton Cummings was very entertaining, he was personal with the crowd, talking about his songs and what inspired him to write them, then he would sing that song. It was a nice touch to the concert. He has a funny side too...Sang most of my favorites for 2 hours with no intermission, I would say he put his heart and soul into his performances. After all these years you can tell he still loves his music, and so do I. Best artist that ever came out of Canada as far as I'm concerned.

I've been following Burton Cummings since 1970. I'm first to acknowledge time catches up to all of us. Nobody will ever question BC's passion and love for what he does. He's voice is not quite the same, and no one should expect it to be. However still dynamic and powerful. My only negative comment, and these are his own words. He tends to Yap a little too much. He played for over two hours, I would much rather see him sing for 1 1/2 hours and speak a little less. His lifetime followers don't need to hear how many gold records he has. Again, very little to criticize about this amazing performer. Just needs to cut back on the dialog a bit.

It was a nearly packed house and the audience was filled with fans young and old . Some were new and some that see the show every year. This was Burton Cummings fourth year here in Las Vegas and my second in a row seeing him and the band and I plan to see them anytime they come here. If you're looking for a ride in the Guess Who way back machine then you need to see this show. There were only a few songs I didn't know, only because they were more popular in Canada. Burton Cummings encourages taking all the pictures you want and doesn't mind if you take video of the show.

Didn't really know what to expect but I'm a fan of guess who music and enjoy seeing living legends in person. Burton Cummings didn't disappoint. His voice was clear and strong. The backing band capable. His piano work great and let's be true. How can you go wrong w/the catalog he has to choose from. Burton was an entertaining speaker during the musical breaks and I found his stories detailing the career highs and lows that he shared. I felt that I was surrounded by greatness presented through the humble yet confident and accomplished Cummings. I particularly relished how highly he spoke of fellow composer and former band mate Randy Bachman. I detected no acrimony in his tone which I found uplifting.was actually hoping Bachman might take the stage but a long-shot pipe- dream that regrettably didn't present. Overall I was gleefully entertained. What more can you ask upon engaging a legendary talent. Thank you mr cummings

All I can say after seeing various bands is this is head and shoulders above anything I've seen thus far. The whole band is fantastic. I can't wait for them to come back. Great entertainment.

Tonight, was not only the final hour of 2016 but Mr. Cummings 70th birthday. As he aptly said himself, it was Saturday night, his birthday and New Years Eve, so it was a time to rejoice. Still, this celebration of music, was not without a sense of appreciation of life itself. From the onset, Mr. Cummings acknowledged the loss of many icons the past year, and less recently, the passing of his mother. In this light, the singer and his five member band, gave one of the more life affirming New Year's Eve concerts, let alone any concert, I have attended. Each song reflected the singer's enthusiasm for his craft, one which has spanned over five decades, and his warmth for his audience. The latter, which included a gift of a printed tee of his first band at 15. Representative of the night, Mr. Cummings acknowledged the gift he had received and now wore, only to realize the couple who had made the shirt were in the audience, and they were wearing the same shirt. Through his graciousness, the star of the evening allowed two people to be acknowledged on this night, one which would undoubtedly remain in their memories. With regard to the latter, each song seemed tethered to a memory of days gone by when both the audience and singer were younger. Without an intermission, Mr. Cummings and his band played more than two hours, each song still resonant and crisp, with his voice and love for music clear as the winter's night.
Saw Burton @ the BBKing lounge in NYC. He rocked the house for over two full hours. This guy is sooo humble yet an amazing musician. He still has it after all these years . Sang all the favorites, chatted all night with the audience and Made the whole experience worthwhile . Can't wait to experience him and his band again. Highly recommend seeing this guy !!!
I would recommend anybody that loves burton Cummings music and get the chance to see him in concert to do so you will think the radio was playing . I have been to a few other concerts and this is the first one that I can say that he sounded just like being on the radio and he interacted with the audience , which I liked.
Absolutely great! Heartfelt tributes to his Mom & David Bowie. I thoroughly enjoyed every song, and couldn't believe he didn't even take a break. Luv the way he speaks directly to the audience, and personalized his introduction of his band. Great sense of humour and down to earth. I am soooo..... looking forward to when he comes back to Toronto area. Keep on Rockin' Burton - us Boomers are Rockin' right along with you!
Having been a long time fan, having been blessed to hear him many different venues complete with an chance to meet him when he dropped into a small local blues club then being further blessed with the opportunity to provide hospitality for the band all I can say is Burton is an absolutely phenomenal entertainer who always delivers a great show. This is further enhanced by him just being himself an extremely talented, humble, kind, funny, gracious man...backed by an absolutely exceptional band...
Excellent concert...much more than I expected! We had second row seats and went up to the stage towards the end...and Burton gave me his guitar pick! With Burton Cummings' vocal talent and the excellent sound of his band, they sounded even better than The Guess Who concert I attended at the same venue a few months earlier. Without Burton Cummings as their lead singer, the "other" Guess Who could not compare!
It was GREAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAt!!!!! Great seats row 5 smack in the center. Burton was very entertaining, sounded greaaaaaaaaaaaaaat, looked greaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat and the audience was full of BC fans!!!!! Crazy fans!!!!!!! BC had the priest from St Thomas there!!!! BC even rocked out at the end. You go BC - rock on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Loved the show - best show ever! My favorite so far!
Burton was great!!! It was like listening to the original "Guess Who". Anyone who was a fan of the "Guess Who" during the late 60's and early 70's should see Burton Cummings
I've appreciated and admired Burton's music since the early 70's. I watched the Guess Who when they were on the Midnight Special and loved THE VOICE. When I saw he had put out a solo album, I had to have it, and I was hooked. That is the man I saw at the Tropicana last Saturday (July 5th), singing the songs that made him famous and that I fell in love with. He hasn't lost a thing - in many respects it was like being in the 1970's all over again. He (and his fabulous back up band, the Carpet Frogs) delivered straight up. old fashioned rock and roll. The way it has always meant to be heard. For the Guess Who diehards he delivered perfect renditions of "No Time", "These Eyes," "American Woman," "Undun." and many others including an inspired performance of "Hand Me Down World." For those of us who are more fans of his solo work he added "Stand Tall" and "I'm Scared." My only regret is that he did not include any songs from his most recent solo effort, "Above the Ground". People need to know he has been creating new music all along, but I understand given time restraints and the likely casual fan audience of a holiday weekend, he can't do everything. It is sad that there is still a group touring as the Guess Who without any members who were the heart, soul, or voice of the group. If you are a fan of the Guess Who, go see Burton Cummings or call your local venues and ask they book him. You won't regret it!
I've been a GUESS WHO fan since the 70's and finally got to see the voice behind the magic. Burton was everything I expected and more. The songs took me back to times and places I had long forgotten.
The show was great- Burton Cummings had a killer band that was tight and virtuostic in their playing. Not only the Hits, but they veered off into some straight-up Bluesy Rock and Roll that had geezers like myself out of their seats. Burton's voice of course was instantly recognizable, and in great form. Here is a guy who interacts seamlessly with the audience, shares some very personal memories of friends who have passed away, and is VERY FUNNY TOO!!!. He seemed extremely thankful and grateful for his sucess over the years, and that was very emotional for the audience too. We ran into the Bass Player, Jeff Jones, wandering around after the show, and he spent a good half hour chatting with us, asking us about our families and sharing some of his stories from his long career. An incredibly nice person who really appreciates the fans.
One of the most gracious performers I've seen. So nice to see one's "ego" not become part of the show. He allowed photos to be taken (Thanks!) yet, kindly asked the audience members who took pictures to be considerate of others around them. Burton Cummings was full of energy, engaged the audience and his band couldn't have been any more great! I could've stayed there hours listening to all his music. Sorry the night had to end. Come back soon!!!!!
The Voice never disappoints! Love his expressions, great energy for 68.He communicates with the audience. Awesome Concert! The seats were great.

Burton Cummings puts on a great show. He doesn't just sit up on stage and play songs. He gives you some history and details you may not have known. Even the couple of songs they played which he didn't write were great. You can see how much he enjoys playing for the crowd. I would definitely see him again.

This is the second time I saw Burton Cummings once when the "real" Guess Who were touring and last night. We were in the third row and the show was second to none! He sounds so good and he is a fantastic entertainer. Burton always seems to maintain a relationship with his audience throughout the show with short stories about each song. If you ever have an opportunity to see his show I would highly recommend it. You will not be let down!

Outstanding show, one of the best I've seen this year and the first time I've seen him performing a solo show. Everything he performed was spot on as though I was back in time. He delivers the same sound and quality as he has from his start in the 60s.

We really enjoyed Burton Cummings at the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA. His voice seems to be as good as ever, and we appreciated the "back story" on the songs. We hope to see him again.

This was my 2nd time I had seen Burton Cummings. He is a very humble, extremely talented song writer and musician. He played 99% of his hits (not American Woman) since it was a solo act without a band. It was Burton and his electric piano. His voice is still excellent and his stories about those early days helped put context to the songs. He was very grateful to the audience after each song. He took the audience on a journey back in time to all those great hits of the Guess Who. I would gladly see him again and hope the next time around, he does bring his band mates so the audience gets the full effect of his music. It was an excellent show!

Being from Winnipeg, we felt a connection with Burton Cummings. His vocals are still unbelievable, the band solid and the music, was a blast from the past and as good today as it was decades ago. Burton engaged the fans and the smaller venue was intimate and made us feel like we were at a big party. We loved every minute of it!

His voice is as clear and as strong as ever. He has a very nice self-deprecating sense of humor. He does not take himself too seriously. His band was fabulous as are his songs. Keep on rocking Burton. At 65 you are better than most entertainers out there today.

Burton Cummings and his band put on an energetic show--100 minutes of driving rock and roll, playing all of the Guess Who's hits and many of his own. The Skagit was a very fined venue, too.

Really enjoyed Burton Cummings. He was true to form and still has a great voice (though he admitted that some of the high notes are not so easy now). His band was tight and fun. In-fact, fun had to be the operative word for this show. He has no problem laughing at himself nor baring his soul if need be. See this show, you won't regret it.

Once again Burton Cummings put on an amazing show. My only wish is that he would play some songs or at least one song from his latest album, Above the Ground. We ve seen him at 4 different shows this last year or so and he only played one song, one time from the Above the Ground album and that was Rollaway which by far isn t the best song on the album. It is a fun little ditty though. I love his repartee with the audience and that he prefaces his music with a little background on each song. He s still going strong at 65 and you can tell he enjoys putting on a great show for his fans.

Fantastic show!! They played all the Guess Who hits, some of Burton's solo stuff and a great version of Mack the Knife. Burtons voice was spot on and his band was exceptional, really tight. I haven't seen him touring much on the West Coast. I can't wait until he comes back. I highly recommend this show to anyone who likes good rock n roll

I've seen quite a few of Burton's shows. I think he's the best singer and entertainer in the business. If you can find or make a chance to see him, don't miss the opportunity. I'd give him at least 10 stars!

Burton and his band were solid, and they played pretty much everything you hoped they would. My only small criticism is that Burton's voice has lost it's full power that Guess Who and Burton fans have come to enjoy over the years. But hey, he's almost 69, so I'm not sure what I was expecting. He put forth maximum effort, engaged the audience masterfully, played great (including the flute on Undun) and sang his heart out and was always on key. He just doesn't quite have that full range that has made him one of the greatest voices in rock and roll. But overall, it was a great night for me and the wife.
