I have to admit I have been a fan of Iced Earth for well a long time, and have never heard of Jon Schaffers side band "Sons Of Liberty". I am so upset that I didn't they were amazing! But of course I digress. Iced Earth is one of those few bands that each and every time I see them they just bring a little more. More feeling, more emotion, more everything that makes a great metal band great. I happened to bring two friends with me one of whom never had been to a concert before, to say that Iced Earth was a good "cherry popper" band would do them no justice at all. The kid nearly lost his mind head banging, air guitaring, jumping, singing, and a smile that couldn't be contained, not to mention a little mosh pitting as well (un-willingly at times). It was the full concert experience and I've seen Iced Earth going on 4 times now, and like said before they just keep getting better. Barlows voice untouchable, Schaffers riffs and crowd interaction amazing, this is just a band I will keep coming back to see time after time, in my eyes they can do no wrong as long as they have a live show like they do...PURE... what you hear on record is what you get and a little more. Can't wait for a new album and a new tour because you can bet I'll be at their next show in NY.

A truly amazing concert from start to finish. Schaffer took some time to educate the crowd about the true circumstances that plaque the world and our country. It was sad to see that not very many people got the message. After wards, Iced Earth dominated playing some older tunes that people haven't heard in a while like "Jack" and the Something Wicked trilogy from the first album. The pit was crazy and the crown was very motivated. One of the most amazing concerts I ever went to.

This is the first time I have seen Iced Earth, having been a big fan of them for the last ten years or so. I had heard that they had not been so great live in previous shows, but this one totally rocked!! The band was very tight and everything sounded great! they also did a fantastic job of picking great selections from their entire discography. Most heavily hit were teh Dark Saga and Something Wicked albums. Truly awesome!

Heavier and Thrashier than ever heard from these bands, including albums. It was the last night of that tour leg, and Symhony X was leaving the tour, so the antics put on by Warbringer and Iced Earth during the Symphony set (which went almost 90 minutes!) were hilarious, and some rare tracks got played.

Iced Earth is my favorite band, so I may be SLIGHTLY biased. But this was my first time seeing them live in my 10+ years of fan-dom, and I was not let down. This is by far the best line-up Iced Earth has had in it's 20+ year career. Stu Block NAILED every song, note for note. Freddie, Brent, and Troy were tight as ever, and killer performers. But me, being the obsessive fan I am, could not take my eyes off of Schaffer. The mastermind songwriter and rock-solid rhythm guitar player that's been behind Iced Earth all this time. Jon Schaffer is the face of strength and determination, art and passion. He is the inspiration that every struggling musician/songwriter needs, because he's been there, worked his butt off for almost 3 decades, and has succeeded at what he is most passionate about. And above all else, he's a total badass! Just look at a picture of him! That being said, I obviously love Jon Schaffer, and I love this band, and I loved this show. They didn't play every song I wanted them to, of course (that would take about two to three days straight of playing to accomplish), but every song they played was one everyone was thrilled to hear. And these guys are total pros at what they do. And really cool guys to top it all off. Got to meet and speak with them before the show (via the awesome meet and greet package). They were all smiles, and appreciative of their fans. Bottom line: Killer show from a killer band. CHECK THEM OUT!!! -C

I'll never understand why a band as talented as IE has to play in dumps like the Masquerade here in the US, yet they play to hundreds of thousands at Wacken. But on the bright side I reaped the benefits, being only feet away from one of Metals guitar gods--Jon Schaffer. The show was flawless, the band tight as ever, Stu Block is an incredible singer and a great frontman. Iced Earth are the real deal. If you've never experienced Iced Earth live you're missing out.

Simply put if you are a true heavy metal fan in the genre of Metallica or Megadeth and Iced Earth is definitley your cup of tea. You are missing out if you have never seen Jon Schaffer and his bandmates perform. They sound just like they do on the CD. They have tons of material to choose from. Their new singer, Stu Block, can also really belt some vocals. They are also very interactive on stage with the crowd. Only thing I would change is having them play even longer. It is always refreshing to see bands perfrom great material that they have written. I just wish the music industry would pull their heads out and stop forcing pretty faces that can't sing down ouir throats.

Absolutely outstanding performance and venue. Clearly they know how to put on a raock concert at Revolution Live -- good atmosphere, safe, friendly and professional. Superb sound system. Symphony X were absolutely brilliant and they give Dream Theater a run for their money. The actual concert and set was exceptional -- very tight, superb musicianship and the energy was superb. Recommend both the venue and the band for anyone into prog rock and heavy rock. Overall -- 10 out of 10.

It was the first time I have every been to the House of Blues and to see the bands up close was a great treat. I must say that Symphony X really peaked my interest this time around. I have seen them before many years ago and even have one of the earlier cds but I never could get into them. The lead singer's voice was amazing and I appreciate them so much more now. Iced Earth was very good but I miss Matt's vocals. I wished they did Night of the Stormrider but I guess they did not want the comparison with this new guy. The music was good but the singer needs a more powerful voice because he got lost in some parts of the music. On a whole, it was a very good night.

Symphony X is one of the best metal bands on the scene these days and they did not disappoint in this show. Sure, they played songs from their newest record but who does not do that? It's called progressing and moving forward. Isn't that what we expect from a band that's labeled Progressive Metal? They play with intensity and with a smile on their face. If you are complaining that you did not hear the song you wanted to hear then you really aren't fan of the band. Enjoy what they do and listen to the other CD when you get home. I can't wait for their next recording and next tour.

This was my first major concert. I have totally rethought what such an experience can entail. The openers were Vermithrax, out of Pittsburgh herself, which despite being the most different band of the lineup, kicked ass. Their thrashing in contrast to the power metal of the rest of the evening didn't hamper them for a second. I could tell already, amid being almost deaf pretty early on (more on that later), that the show was off to a great start. After them came ReVamp, playing about the same amount of time, approximately 5 songs. Led by the incredible Floor Jansen, also of Nightwish, they too were an outstanding performance, and begun the "true" power metal portion of the show. Then, THEN...Sabaton stormed the stage assuming dominance of the concert within SECONDS. Opening with their outstanding "Ghost Division", which is incredibly smart on their part with it being such a fast paced and generally good choice to begin a concert. "Gott Mitt Uns" followed, then I believe "40:1", "Carolus Rex", their new single "To Hell and Back", and concluding with "The art of War" and "Metal Crue, all songs were nothing short of awesome in their content, sound and performance. After that came the headliners, Iced Earth, equally outstanding despite my limited ability to assess them as a new fan. Most of their songs were new to me obviously, with exceptions like "watching over me" and "if I could see you" which were by far some of my OTHER favourites of the show, not just because of the performance themselves but the story behind them which Iced Earth didn't hesitate to share with all of us before they began, as Sabaton often does including in this show. The Venue, Stage AE, was as close to perfect for the event as you could get. Cheap tickets, awesome layout, secure part of a beautiful city, and the bar a stone's throw from the mosh pit makes for no complaints from me, at all. If I had one gripe it was that things literally got too loud for the sound system (the same way it does when you crank it way too loud on shitty speakers in the car) to the point where I as a newcomer to all bands but Sabaton didn't even catch an occasional lyric, let alone song names. And no, I wasn't too close. It caused me to get a bad headache somewhat quicker than anticipated, but that didn't come close to hampering the fun. I guess I have a minor second one- the fact that preordered tickets have seat numbers implying that a seat COMES WITH THE TICKET. They don't, and only box seats were being sold extra. I saw less than a dozen people even both and I ended up sitting on the stairs or leaning wherever when I got exhausted around hour 3 of the roughly 5 hour show. Again, far from ruining the experience. Overall assessment: 11.5/10, A+

Although I am not a huge fan of the venue Iced Earth played at, they definitely rocked the house. Everyone in the band was kicking ass. I have been a huge fan of these guys for 5 years or so and this was the first chance to see them live. Stu did a fantastic job of all era's of I E. He can hit any note Ripper or Barlow could and sounded awesome. The main rave of this entire evening was watching Jon Schaffer play. My son (an excellent guitar player at 14 himself) and I were right in front of him and he is unbelieveable. I was blown freaking away at how fast he can play and for long periods as well. I see 5 to 6 shows a year and this ranks among the best so far. Schaffer's impact on my sons playing with be huge, he played Dystopia for me the day after the show! Please come back to Atlanta soon!

I purchased tickets to this event way ahead of time, for the House of Blues in Orlando. The venue was changed to the Beacham shortly before the date. Although I was sent an email telling me this, they did NOT tell me that the time was much earlier, I ended up getting there late, and missed half of the Symphony X portion of the show. Also the sound was terrible, tons of feedback, speakers in bad positions and everything. I sent the Beacham an email asking them if they could accomodate me in my wheelchair, and they never answered back. Luckily the bouncers were kind enough to get me to a spot where I could see, otherwise I would have just hung out in the back the whole time. This venue STUNK. I much prefer the House of Blues. That being said, the bands were killer, even with the crappy sound system. The new singer for Iced Earth is awesome, very charismatic, and really good with the crowd. On the plus side, I got to meet Russell Allen and Michael Romeo from Symphony X, which made my night. They were so nice and down to earth, really great guys, and I got some autographs and a picture. In short, great bands, crappy venue, Guns and Roses go to hell!!!

I became fans of both of these bands about the same time- Dark Saga for Iced Earth and The Oddessy for Symphony X. I am a fan of all kinds of music, but mostly British Metal/Classic rock (I am 51 Years old). I don't really care for Death Metal/Black Metal/Thrash/ etc. I think Iced Earth (esp) has a little blend of that- but the screaching vocals are tolarable to me because they are also very melodic. I used to play guitar- so of course I really appreciate Romeo, and love what he does- with great ease I might add. And I am a huge fan of Ronnie James Dio- and it's obvious Russle Allen has a LOT of respect for him too... Of course with Iced Earth- Jon is a master of rythem guitar, and they are not so much known for solo guitar, although they are very adequate. The wailing Maiden-like dual leads work real well in Jon's writing, but the strength in Iced Earth for me was Matt Barlow's vocals. The new vocalist- Stu Block came through really quite well- but it was the strength in the new material that brings him up nearly to the same level as Matt. Stage presense- not so great- but ok. Seeing them for the first time, I learned that Fred the bass player plays a much bigger part of thier sound than I ever realized. Russle Allen blows Stu Block away on all levels (look forward to his new project too). Both bands really complimented each other with this dual headlining tour- they were just enough different in style (which was a good bit) that they make a surprisingly great combo on stage. Who ever put these two bands together for a tour - knew what they were doing. Both bands commanded the stage with authority- but in different ways. A great night of Heavy Metal entertainment.

Iced Earth was incredible, taking metal to soaring heights that one just doesn't get with the standard death metal/metalcore genres. It's certainly different than what I'm used to listening live in the Mass. and Rhode Island area. One can tell this band derives much of its inspiration from European Paganism and history, and other historical events like the American Civil War, which gives it unique depth and insight. As a Pagan and lover of history, I can certainly appreciate that. Indeed, it was a spiritual affair. I'm only giving a rating of 4 out of 5 due to the venue. The Brighton Music Hall was too small for a sold-out show, so we were tightly packed. And the parking was very much a hassle. But for Iced Earth, I'd give them a 5 out of 5 and would love to see them again, hopefully at a different venue.

The Iced Earth show was good, but Stu Block's voice was off and we couldn't hear him singing the songs. I have seen Iced Earth many times with Stu Block and he sounded great. But this time his voice was off. Jake Dreyer was amazing. His is so talented. His other band Witherfall with singer Joseph Michael is so good. Also Joseph Michael is filling in as the lead singer of Sanctuary. Sanctuary is also on tour with Iced Earth. Sanctuary sounded great and they were by far the best band playing that night. They blew Iced Earth off the stage. The concert was a great show, i just wish that Stu's voice was better. If you're going to see this show you will really like it.

Great show! I had heard of Iced Earth but had never seen them in concert. I was impressed. Black Flag and Clear the Way from their new Album were awesome to hear. And John Schaffer killed it on the classic songs, especially Stormrider. Sanctuary, I listened to in college and was sad to hear of Warrell Dane's untimely death. However, Joseph Michaels did amazing in his stead and wearing the tribute shirt seemed to channel Dane.

Unforgettable performance! Loved the opening theatrics - lights, smoke - totally set the mood for the night. These guys are extremely talented musicians that put on a killer show. And the cage?! Cmon! Who didn t get a kick out of the boys climbing all over it! Luke and Jake totally were rocking the hair flips, riffs sounded out of this world (was I the only one that wished they were louder?) always a high energy show, tonight was no different! Iced Earth pounded out all the hits! Top notch musicianship and song writing! An awesome live American metal band. Lead guitarist Troy Steele was amazing! I got to meet him before the show, he is a super guy. Thanks for taking the time to sign autographs and take pics with us. Thanks for explaining the "slide" trick to me. You are awesome! Iced Earth loves their fans! Thank you Jon, Troy, Stu and Luke for the autographs and pictures. You guys are the best.

ReVamp started off with the lovely Floor Jansen, the current singer of Nightwish, though she was in ReVamp first. They were okay. Honestly, just okay. Every song started and ended as thrash and turned more poppy. Sabaton was just great. They really only sing about WW2, but the singer is hilarious and they have such energy from start to finish that it's hard not to have a good time. Iced Earth are the masters of their craft. No two of their songs sound the same and yet every single one is just amazing. Always go see Iced Earth if they are in town.

Everything about this concert was excellent. I have seen dozens of great, big-time bands, and this has been the best. Got a chance to meet Iced Earth and Sabaton afterwards. Did not pay extra for that, they're just really friendly

BAnds were awesome but i really wish they would switch up the setlist as we followed them for more than one show with not one song varation and the music as way too loud I needed ear plugs at the concessions and the venue needed more space

This show was amazing!! Three powerful bands in one stage, starting with ReVamp and the Queen of Hearts, Floor Jansen displaying her wide range and vocal versatility singing clear, raw, opera & growl vocals all in one set, spinning her hair around surrounded by skilled musicians complementing her vocals to perfection with electrifying riffs and strong stage presence along with backing vocals adding depth!! Sabaton and Iced Earth also delivered high energy performances that set the stage and crowd on fire with fast heavy riffs and melodic tunes intertwined. Could see this show again every night until the end of the tour, don't miss it!!
