BHS played many old classics that were great to hear again. Lumerians were really great as well. Bringing it with Space-psych. Great audio/visual experience.

What an awesome show... I have been listening to these guys since the mid 80's, when punk was punk... Saw them at the first Lollapolloza in Orlando Florida and they rocked. I must say they still got it....... Awesome time, awesome show.... Hope to catch them again.... Right on..........

Opening act I saw just before the surfers was surprisingly good. The Surfers rocked, even if Gibby seemed a little subdued.

Some things that I never thought I would say about the a Butthole Surfers show, but must say now: - It was boring - I didn't see anything new or shocking - There was no enthusiasm - Gibby had nothing to say A few songs sounded great, and Paul Leary's psychedelic feedback guitar jam at the end of the show was cool. But that's it.

Okay the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because tickets said the show started at 7 we waited until 9 for the opening band which were abosolutely horrible worst band ive ever seen there whole set was just guitar feedback and noise i almost went deaf the butthole surfers came on around 10 and they were great i have nothing band to say about their performance it was awesome they sound the same live as they do on the albums great show but the waiting really sucked

The Butthole Surfers put on an interesting show, to say the least. Between the glow sticks, the fog machine, the strobe lights, and the lasers, it was probably the trippiest show I've ever been to. The music was good, and the show was fun.

What can you say about this band that has not already been said? They are getting older and the band just seems to get more seasoned.

I'm starting to fall into a nostalgia phase for music made when I was too young to appreciate it. First I saw the Meat Puppets at a small venue several weeks ago, and now this great show! The Melvins played too, making this my third time seeing them live. Dale Crover even came out and played during BSurfers encore. Very thrilling experience, even though I was by myself. I even knew some of the songs! The whole thing ended in a stage-smoke clouded wall of live noise, assaulting all levels of tolerance and sensibility. Only wish I'd taken better pictures, good times.

This show was worth every penny: the Surfers used their computer-generated images to advantage by letting the music accentuate the images on the screen. The final set was intense, due to the smoke machine, and it was trippy to see the lads play through the fog, while guitar chords noodled into swirling atmosphere! A very energetic and happiness-producing performance: the end result is always seeing the beaming faces of fans outside the club after the event- a good show which was appreciated by all! Go see 'em!!!

I've seen the Butthole Surfers many times, first show 1985 and several time late 80's and early 90's. I went to the show excited they were back on the road. I was expecting a show much like the other nostagic shows I've seen this year like the "Meat Puppets" and "X" but the Surfers took it up a notch with the disturbing grafic's and exceptionally tight sound. I hope they come back soon.

Despite Gibby looking bored/angry through the enitre set, Paul Leary let the Buttholes through an amazing and unforgettable set of the best set they've ever played! It was an honor to be able to see them again. I saw them 10 years ago in Pittsburg and the show sucked. They pretty much played "Electric Larry Land" in its entirety and went home. This show, on the other hand, was boss!

A great show. New movies with extra gore. Check your kids at the door. The crowd was mixed age but chorusing with some of the more popular songs. Tracks were from brown reason to live, to hairway to steven. Did I mention they were tight? Great to see Terresa (sp?) pounding away at the drums, I ve only seen every tour since widow maker and this completes the Butthole Surfers from the past. Loved hearing tracks from rembrant pussy horse by the way. That was my first Butthole Surfer album. Four stars only because I did see this set list a few years ago. I would love to hear something new.

Butthole Surfers put on a great show. They dig pretty deep into their catalog and play a little from each record, all the way back to Brown Reason To Live/PCPPEP. I think Gibby must be medicated, because he didn't move around much. Gone was his crazy antics. Hardly any stage to crowd banter. One song right into another. Seems like they played 40 songs or so! Not to be missed is the opening band, Psychic ILLS. They channel some mysterious energy into their performance and music that is genuinely eerie. They had me pumped to see the Surfers that is for sure. Butthole Surfers weren't crazy, scary, weird...they just played everything from their catalog and they played it well.

Bass was way too loud, even for me (a bass player and big fan of Jeff Pinkus). The rest of the show was amazing. Just wish I could've heard the whole band. Looked like they were doing some cool stuff. I walked around the room to get a different sound, but the bass was colossal and nothing else was.

The 6 hr drive to Atlanta from Lexington was well worth it to see the 5 original members of The Butthole Surfers on stage together rockin out all the good old tunes! The all ages show was at the Masquerade , a perfect spot for my 6 yr old sons first show! We met friends from South Carolina there and everyone agreed this show was amazing! Check 'em out while you can, I heard rumor that this may be thier last tour with all the original band members!! Ticketmaster made it super easy to pay for our tix on line and pick them up at the will call window at the show, very cool. THIS SHOW ROCKED!!!!!

This was a killer performance by the surfers. Cannonball was the highlight. Bong song also was just sick. The band was in the zone from the start, opening with Something (hell yes) and never relenting the entire show. Can't say anything bad about this show other than I thought the crowd was a little tame for a butthole surfers show, especially at the Masquerade on a saturday, a venue where I have seen some serious moshing and balls to the wall craziness. The crowd was terribly static from the start. I saw some people just let go of themselves right when the drums started to pound for Something, but most everyone else was just standing still. This is in direct contrast to the surfers show I saw at Stubbs in Austin last year. People were freaking out the whole time, and it made for an overall better concert experience. So, the show loses one star for the lack of crowd participation, but it wasn't the band or the venue's fault. Would see them again if this week if I didn't have to work.

I've seen the surfers a number of times throughout the 80's and 90's which were some of the best shows I've ever seen. I do understand it is several decades later and I shouldn't expect quit the same. However, I must admit that this show was a huge let down. It was rather boring, and I was about ready to leave mid way through. The band had very little interaction and there was just lack of energy. Gibby spent the whole evening camped next to Gibbytronics and just seemed he'd rather be somewhere else. The effects were lacking. Just wasn't feeling it in regards to the entertainment in which the surfers are know for... They had a decent set, and the music sounded okay. Again, nothing to blow you away with in the sound or effects dept. The only conclusion I can make is they must be hurting for cash and just going through the motions to get through this tour and make a buck. Again, I hate to say all this, but those expecting to seethe Surfers from the years gone past will be leaving dissappointed.

The band's performance and their sound setup was stellar during last night's show in Atlanta. Before the show I was wondering how all the wonderful vocal and guitar distortion on their albums would sound live, and it was better than I hoped for. Now if I could only get my hands on some good guitar tab for this band...hehe!!! I like the band, but these 5 stars were well deserved. In short: Don't miss this show.

My 3rd times seeing bhs....good as ever! A bit mellowed from Lolapalooza days and advances in horror movie production and distribution has made their background a bit less shocking. There are no better performance artists than the Butthole Surfers. Everyone must see this band. They are the Beatles of our time but have been overlooked simply because of the band's name. This show surprisingly makes it into my top three. With the dress-wearing-instrument-swapping-clothes-pin-wearing-acid-crazed initiation show & the green-stripper-horror-film-chase-the-neophytes-away-now-here-smoke-our-pot-strobe-light-technician-pinnacle-where'd-our-drummer-go show at the IBeam in SF show. Seen them about ten times from 1984...Indoors & outdoors. LA, SF, Berkeley, & Vegas. Straight & not so straight. The crowd was ready & willing! No surprised frat boys& their dates to scare off with 30min noise etc. The venue meant the sound/visual system was top-notch. Gibby actually acknowledged the crowd from the start & Paul drove the band fast.

Straight & gay porn. Stupid gory blood & guts films. Slam dancing. All during very psychedelic music. Great fun! Like being at the Masque circa 1977! EXCEPT: (A) the Masque was never this nice (the Pearl is a beautiful room, perhaps the most beautiful in Vegas? I haven't been to enough yet to make that declaration, just moved here last Dec) (B) you didn't have to pay so much damned money for a drink!

From the opening strains of The Price Is Right theme, ("Come on down!") to the toenail-smoking fun of The Shah Sleeps In Lee Harvey's Grave, the Butthole Surfers gave it to the crowd in loud, colorful quantities. Songs focused on their early career; I only recognized one song from their last three albums. The band wasn't as rambunctious as reputed, but the crowd was. Lots of happy dancing!

I've seen the BS before and this time they seemed a bit tired to me. The Melvins, however, were sharp as ever and dominated the night. A nice flashback to, say, I-Beam shows back in the day. Lotsa classic old songs -- still their best -- and the mosh pit was fun to watch from immediately above in the balcony. Dale Crover from the Melvins sitting in on second drums for the very long encore was definitely a high point.
