Although I had never seen I bought the Live CD of the Varsity Theater, MN Bob Schneider show. I liked his rapor with the crowd, and the (pseudo Michael Franti/Spearhead) great reggae-ish, soulful sound.

Bob always puts on an outstanding show. He really seems to shine when he can interact with the crowd at these smaller venues. His band has some incredible musicians that always add to the show as well. Bob is one of those artists that has such a clear voice and great vocals....he sounds the same live as he does in studio which is rare these days. I would highly recommend checking out Bob Schneider anytime he is in town!

Excellent show. He changes up a lot of his music, so everytime you see him the old songs sound new. I loved the new band too, especially the accordian player. The only complaint I have is that there were 2 opening bands so it took too long for Bob to take the stage.

I took a friend who had never heard of Bob, and I couldn't describe the music in advance because Bob doesn't fit any categories. My friend trusted me and was very impressed by the music. We really liked a song that had lyrics something along the line of, "I thought you said the getaway car would be waiting for us / I thought you said we'd have passports to get us across the border / I thought you said..."etc.

Unbelievable. I lost my voice from screaming so much, and my fiancée and I and two other couples we met that night were right up against the stage and danced our asses off. I haven't jumped up & down like that since I saw rage against the machine in college, but for totally different reasons/types of music, and we were fresh off of coming from a Phish show @ Jones Beach- and both were un-real, but Bob Schneider is really tough to beat- especially if you're w a date- he's PERFECT for a date, not too laid back- lots of positive energy flowing around that man. Loved it. Period. Wish he didn't live in Texas, as I'm in New York/New Jersey.

While Bob (what an appropriate name for such a smuck, might be a very talented musician, and average singer. The music I heard on the radio had in no way prepared me for the lame college type band I heard. 1st off Bob is to old to be singing songs like this. It should be called Bob and the Perverts. With him being a father he should be ashamed that almost all the songs, had to do with oral or sexual functions on young girls. I understand now why Bob hasn't attained more success then he has. With this play lists, I'm sure he will never play more then large night clubs. Don't let your children under 18 go to this smut review.

the energy was started by the opening act, Laura Warshauer, who played songs that were fired by great arrangements with backup viola, guitar and tight vocals. Songs with drive and reflection rounded out a short set that left us wanting more. Bob started out mellow and gradually brought his quintessential humor and banter to a powerful show of his finely crafted originals. Enjoyed the whole show immensely - I highly recommend doing whatever it takes to see this show - what live music is all about!

Opening for Bob Schneider was Laura Warshauer and her band. Off to a great start for this was the first time @ this venue. She definitely had the sound, and set the stage for Bob Schneider who I have seen perform in Stanhope, NJ in the past. Bob I refer to as a one man band, he is a gifted musician who has mastered the world of instruments. He is entertaining and this is what the audience wants.

Been a fan for years/albums, but seems our schedules never jived til this show. Well worth the wait. Bob was awesome, and the fact that he was solo/sans band did not detract from the show at all...perhaps it even enhanced it. He was funny, charming, and extremely talented. He used a multi-tracker and a vocal harmonizer, but it was never cheesy. Can't wait to see him again!

Aside from years ago when he opened for the Dixie Chicks (which was also the first time I experienced him), I've never seen Bob Schneider perform solo, without his backing band. It was wonderful. While he wasn't overly chatty, at least not at first, I got to hear many of his slower songs, which he doesn't play as much in his usual concerts. I love seeing Bob in concert, and this was a special treat. I can't wait until he comes back to town.

Great show, intimate setting. Was not familiar with all the songs but that's ok. Crossed over multiple genres and kept me guessing all night. Trumpet player was a hoot and an unexpected bonus.

Bob Schneider and his band delivered two hours of unforgettable music at the Bluebird Theater on Sunday. Bob defies comparison in versatility, sheer volume of work, talent and sex appeal. He's the guy that guys want to be and girls want to be with. His band was at the top of their game with Ollie Steck outdoing his normal best. Clint Wells is a fantastic guitarist who got to show his chops on some Schneider classics and new material. A Schneider show is something that's hard to describe-you've just gotta be there. This show was among his best.

We had friends in town from Australia and it was good to remember Bob back in the day at Saxon Pub, every Monday night. We loved the new rendition of Bullets and that amazing rap/freestyle song he went into about halfway into the show. I have been looking online everywhere trying to figure out what that song was but no luck so far. We got a limo and did this night up right. Thanks Bob!!

The show was awesome and Bob is always great! The staff at LiveNation are less than diserable characters. First the toothless waitress attacked us then I had to deal with Keith Smith who does not really understand the meaning of "customer service" I will go anywhere else to see Bob but not a fan of the HOB anymore! Staff has gone way downhill!!

The energy in Bob's performance was infectious! We could not sit still. He puts on an incredible show and the venue was great. Opening act had sweet songs but they really needed someone who built up the energy and excitement (even the tempo) leading up to Bob. 2nd time to see him in concert and will continue to go back for more!!

My husband and I have been to 2 concerts in Houston (HOB's & the Mucky Duck), we have actually traveled to Dallas this weekend to see one of his concerts at the HOB here. There are no real words to describe Bob's concerts. You get your moneys worth plus so much more. You are entertained from the moment he steps on stage until the curtain falls. Bob Schneider is a MUST see for everyone.

Bob definitely has a "club" following in the Minneapolis area. However, club crowds never seem to allow Bob to perform some of his slower, more melodic tunes that I personally love. Still he tries, but ends up having to amp them up in order to get over the crowd noise (example "2002"), which in a way, destroys the beauty of the song. But I don t see that as his fault. Someday I would love it if Bob Schneider would have a concert at one of the smaller theaters in Minneapolis/St Paul, like The Fitzgerald Theater or The Orpheum; a setting where a crowd actually comes to hear Bob Schneider in concert. But overall, I enjoy Bob Schneider's shows because he does know how to please a crowd. This show was no exception. As I was leaving the Fine Line, I turned & Bob was standing right in front of me. He took the time to talk with me about several of his CDs, most of which I personally love. I let him know I wasn't too crazy about "The Californian" & he seemed to have a clear understanding where I was coming from. I found him to be personable & very gracious and he was kind enough to autograph his new CD for my wife for Mother's Day.

Despite the fact live performances are never too good sounding, Bob Schneider was able to start changing my mind about seeing more live performances. You can tell where his passion is and he loves the feedback he gets from his fans. The House of Blues was a great venue to attend this as well. Anyone, I can not stress this enough!!!!!!! If you have not ever seen this man or never heard his music before you are missing out.

This was an awesome show and I can't wait to see him again. I loved the venue too. I had never been to Ogden Theater before and it rocked! It was very personal and kind of romantic. Easy to park, easy to get around, not too crowded, not too big, and not too small! All the bands were great and nice. I got to meet Charlie Mars and Jason Shannon after the show. The only thing that would have made this night better is if I could have met Bob too!! I waited around and tried but no luck!
