Iron Maiden

Metal legends Iron Maiden formed in 1976 though it was four years before they released their first self-titled album, featuring the successful single “Running Free.” The band's second album, Killers, released in 1981, had a harder edge than their first and was also a hit. Original vocalist, Paul Di'Anno, left the band in 1982 and was replaced with Bruce Dickinson who completed what is now considered to be Iron Maiden's classic line-up. The same year saw the release of the seminal rock album Number of the Beast which was the band's first worldwide hit and featured such classic tracks as “Hallowed Be Thy Name” and the album's title track.

Having seen them last year on the Souls tour, I expected more of the same. Last year I seen them in Vegas ,so I came back to see them again this year. The T-Mobile arena is new and not a bad place for a show , but it lost its AC during the show and it became hot in there.i felt the sound could have been better also. On to the show ,it was similar set list as last year with same songs although they changed a few songs, but I feel the included Red and the Black song was too long and not a great choice. Loved Wrathchild , wish they would have done more in classic era . Well Maiden puts on a great show, the reason I see them more than once . Guess after twice last year it was to familiar. Next year should bring a new tour . I will be there with total excitement. Ghost who opened was pretty cool not in to them before, but liked their show. Up the irons. Ant

First time seeing Maiden live and they absolutely lived up to all my expectations. Musically they were totally on point and the stage show was awesome. These guys aren't getting any younger but you would never know it. Tons of energy and totally engage the crowd. One of the best live shows I've ever seen. I'll definitely be going to see them again at the next opportunity. Opening act Ghost was also excellent. Really good mix in the crowd - young kids to old gray hairs. Great to see everyone come together and just enjoy themselves. Venue is ok but it took us almost an hour to get out of the parking lot after the show, which is ridiculous even for the large crowd.

Iron Maiden shredded the Forum in the savage way that only a high energy high octane Maiden show can. Bruce had the crowd going wild. Dave, Adrian and Janick were raging the guitars as usual. Then Eddie made his appearance and the crowd went into a frenzy. Let us be honest Maiden is Maiden and the best live band on earth fronted by a fencing master a pilot who can fly any aircraft and flies the entire ensemble around the world. Nicko was tucked behind his kit beating the skins. I will say The show on Friday the 15th had more energy from the crowd but this was still a great show as only Maiden can do it. Did not like Ravens age. I really hope Steve quits bringing his kids bands to open for maiden.

I was there for Dream Theater , but was disappointed as they only played 5-6 songs tops. They sounded great and as a fan wished they would had played longer. Iron Maiden was average, they were loud but the sound was off. I have seen these guys back in the 80s and early 90s and by comparison, not even close.

I have been a fan for a few years, saw the documentary Flight 666 so I wanted to attend a live concert. The show was great, even though I was disappointed that they didn't play "Run To The Hills". The band performed up to expectations and were high energy on all the songs. "Eddie" had a great reincarnation and he also put on an excellent performance. I was amazed at the audience participation. I would give this concert and Iron Maiden an A +, after all, when Satan, a zombie/mummy/alien hell-beast and one of the greatest heavy metal bands of all time show up in Dallas with its usual rambunctious crowd, how can you not love it?

I was not a fan of Iron Maiden until I saw the Flight 666 video and then I knew that I had to see them live. I picked up a lawn seat for $25.00 with no service fee and parking included (thanks Live Nation) and figured that even if I didn't enjoy the show, $25.00 was not big loss. Turns out, it was the best $25.00 I have spent all year. Dream Theater opened up and rocked out. They played for about an hour and sounded great. I knew none of their songs, but became an instant fan. After an hour break, Maiden took the stage and for the next two hours, gave everything they had. The energy level was constant from the first to the last song. They had a new stage backdrop for almost every song. Eric's voice was clear and strong and he was all over the stage. The three guitars and bass were well polished, clean, and the sound in the complex was really good. Dallas in June can be hot for an outside show, but a cool front had blown through and there was a breeze, so it was actually a really nice night for an outside show. To say that Iron Maiden did not disappoint would be selling them short. They were AMAZING and I will definitely see them live again.

Great performance by the band, but the sound quality SUCKED at the venue. DT that opened the show sounded really good, not deafening loud, either. I don't mind loud, I like it loud, but NOT at the expense of sound quality. When Maiden got on stage, it was noticeably louder but the sound system could NOT handle it, and it sounded pretty awful for most of the show. Sound guy wasn't good either as you could hear Dave Murray's solos just fine, yet the other two couldn't be heard very well at all. And I was 10th row, center stage. The worst in the mix was Bruce...you could barely hear 75-85% of his vocals. I saw Adrian Smith screwing with his in-ear monitors more than once, and point to his ear and shake his head while playing down towards a crewman in front like he couldn't hear, either. And it's too bad as you could tell the few times they had things set right that the band was spot on and incredible. Too bad the sound quality and mixing was so horrible that it spoiled what could have been one of the best concerts I've ever been to.

I have seen Maiden 5 times...87,98,99,2000, 2008. Except for the Bruce-less show in 98, each Maiden concert has been so over the top!! If you love and live metal, you have to see Maiden!!

Personally, I am a HUGE dream theater fan!! I went to one of the Progressive Nation concerts in 2009 when they came through the US and let me tell you, it was INCREDIBLE!! Now, I have the privilege of seeing Dream Theater touring with Iron Maiden!! THE IRON MAIDEN!!The pioneers of heavy metal!! I cannot believe something this great could even happen!! The people who decide to attend the concerts of this tour will NOT be disappointed, as it may be the greatest touring combo ever!! I know that on July 20 of this year, my dream will come true!!

Are you kidding? Iron Maiden is the best concert you will ever go to. Period. My first Iron Maiden concert was in London, many many years ago, then to the US for Piece Of Mind tour, then I went all the way down to Rio to see them, the third time was Brave New World, then Matter of Life and Death in Stockholm, now this! They have never failed to deliver. Best moments always seem to be when Eddie comes lumbering across the stage. Usually Bruce has a bit of a time getting him under control (back in chains, as it were). They are not for the faint of heart, and definitely not for beginners. Bruce usually delivers some good stuff without being preachy, and the repertoire is always masterful. Bear in mind that this is one of the highest intellect metal bands out there - subjects range from classical literature to history to mythology, and each piece is written much the same way as a classically trained composer would - Steve Harris and Adrian Smith are experts at this! They always play much longer than you expect them to - Bruce "the Siren" Dickinson's operatic voice never gives out, and your ears will be bleeding halfway through. I rank their performance a 5, only because there is no higher number. LONG LIVE MAIDEN!!!

I saw these guys 2 times now. In Main and in Florida. i was dead center in the pit for the main show and i caught Adrian Smiths Pick. it was the best experience of my life. in florida i was in the VIP section with the free food and drinks but it was all the way in the back....not doing that again(But Still just as good). if you go see these guys i definetly recomend the PIT. If you are a true maiden fan you wont want to be anywhere else besides right in front of Dave and Adrian. An Amazing show. Best Performers ever!! Cant wait for The Final Frontier Tour!!!!

Still the best band on the planet! Show was amazing from the sound to the sets and backdrops and of course, the band!! These guys still kick ass and hopefully will be back with another album and tour! If you missed them, which unfortunately many of you did this first go around, you MUST find a way to get somewhere if they happen to do a U.S. part II of this tour! I went to both nights of IronMaiden at the forum. Had killer seats the first night. And for night two I had seats in nose bleeds. Not a bad seat in the house. I ended up buying four shirts and a poster. Iron Maiden never disappoints. Awesome show. The crowd for night two was way more into it than the crowd for night one. My only regret is that I didn't get second or first row seats for night two in the presale.

My only regret is I got a seating ticket instead of a floor ticket, since I never sat for a moment during the Maiden's two hours and had to be careful when jumping around. The venue was good, no problem with parking, the cover band a good choice, and the main band is on top of their game! On top of any game really. My first IM concert and I've been listening to them for 30+ years, the selection of songs was great, all the favorites from the Book of Souls plus Fear of the Dark, Powerslave, Hallowed be Thy Name, Blood Brothers (nice surprise, that's the only one from the newer albums), Iron Maiden, The Number of The Beast... it was so good all of it! Actually since this was the 2nd day in LA I regret not having gone the 1st day as well. Good to be around fellow Maiden fans and sing along with Bruce from the top of your lungs.

Iron Maiden killed it for two hours straight. I was literally first row at the stage barrier front and center. What helped add to the experience, was when the Forum had concessions walking back and forth at the front barrier so we would not loose our spot on the front line. The Forum is a kick ass place to see a show!!

What can I say? Iron Maiden was simply awesome. As many times as I've seen them, they just get better and better. Saw them with the same group of MAIDEN FANS that I saw them in 1985 at the 'Live After Death ' show in Long Beach. We even found ED FORCE ONE at L.A.X.

Iron Maiden was amazing as usual. A very great show! These guys look great after all these years. As long as they tour, I will come and see them play. Just please change the opening band (The Raven Age) The opening band vocalist was terrible, very off key and boring. Talks in his songs, doesn't ever really sing. Boring chorus in every song, needs to jazz it up. He really needs to learn to vary his tone and sing don't talk. Same mono off key tone on every song. The music was good, great guitar riffs, I love it tight and as hard as you can make it, replace the vocalist and you may have a future. When you can hear a pin drop after each song with no one in the audience of 16k people cheering, it tells you something. Not impressed Please do not come to the Tacoma Dome next time. Worst place in the world for a concert. The acoustics are terrible in a round shaped building.

In my opinion this show ranks up their with the World Slavery Tour which resulted in live album Live After Death. I'd probably rate it higher than Live After Death because they are flying around in their own 747 Jumbo Jet. For folks looking for Maiden to be a cover band for their old music, you may be disappointed. For anyone who has listened to the new double album The Book Of Souls, you are in for perhaps the best live music experience you could ever hope for. I have seen them many times over the past 25 years. This was the best performance. They never miss a note, and are very professional, the sound was incredible, and the visuals and stage show did not disappoint. I had the privilege to take 3 folks to their first ever Iron Maiden concert and they all mentioned it may have been the best rock show they have ever seen. I am very grateful this band still plays up to its potential, and isn't sitting back becoming a cover band for their own music like other acts out there. Thank you Iron Maiden!

I drove five hours to see Iron Maiden take the stage in Chicago to support their new Book of Souls album and the boys did not let me down. The first time I seen Maiden play live was during the Powerslave Tour of 1985, in Des Moines, Iowa. Many years have passed since that show, not for a lack of wanting to see them again, but Maiden started playing larger venues (they could fill). I raised my son on the same music I had listened to growing up (including Iron Maiden) and we had always toyed with the idea of making a show before the band retired. Little did we know what fate had in store for Bruce and when he recovered so wonderfully it was clear that every effort would be made to see them live. Amazingly my wife also tagged along with us, as she was well aware of importance of this band and quest, (she enjoyed it for the theatrics as well). My son and I thoroughly enjoyed the show, as I built the band up for years and we had kept up with performances through various videos. Kudos to the band for working so hard to satisfy their fanbase, many of us are deep into middle age (+/-) and appreciate this kind of inspiration from our old rock heroes. Up the Irons!

Absolutely amazing! Being in my 40s, this was only my second Maiden show and I'd have to say, the guys put on an amazing performance! The only thing I could have done with out was Janick Gers dancing on stage & swing his guitar around his shoulder through half the show. The other guys in the band were playing and concentrating on the music to make it sound good, & Janick is on stage right dancing & prancing like a fairy. Come on, really? As always Iron Maiden shows why they are the best live band around. Not even a year after Bruce's cancer scare and recovery he came out onto the stage and showed everyone that his voice was as strong as ever and he ran around the stage (for over 96 minutes) without missing a step. The sound was perfect the stage show (as always) was amazing. The sold out crowd was cheering and singing along to every song. I would say if you have never seen Maiden your missing out on one of the best live bands ever to hit the stage. The Raven Age came out and commanded the stage like a veteran act and we're also worth the price of admission.

I've been a Maiden since I was 6 years old digging through my uncles cassette collection and discovering these tapes with this kickass monster on the covers! And having been a fan for so long this was only my second time ever seeing Maiden but I never ever in all my life imagined I would see Maiden in a legendary venue like Madison Square Garden! I also never imagined that I would ever be at the barrier at any Iron Maiden concert ever! For me this concert was so much more than just a concert, this was a once in a lifetime experience for me! And the band did not disappoint at all! The show had me hooked from beginning to end! Everyone played their hearts out with immense enthusiasm! Unlike some older bands that play for pay without a care for for putting on a show Maiden played for the fans and played like they were still a group of kids in their 20's!!! I sincerely couldn't have asked for more the show was amazing definitely need to see them if this tour swings through your town.

Okey dokey, let me start by saying Iron Maiden has been my favorite band since I saw them open for Priest in Vegas as a teenager in the early 80s. I've only been able to see them 6 more times over the years and they have never disappointed. I finally was able to take my son's to see them at The Garden in NYC, and I am floored by how they are still able to bring the passion and glory of their live shows after almost 40 years of this. They are a tribute to how passionate and adoring their fans are, and they'll continue to inspire my kids to carry on that enthusiasm for another generation. Whether you've always wanted to, or always seen them, they deserve your attention on this tour as they always have. A bit expensive for tickets especially after Live Nation gets there's, but priceless for the experience. I pray for Bruce Dickinson's good health (as well as the whole band). UP THE IRONS!!!

The venue did not open the doors until 40 minutes before the concert. Not a good way to manage your venue if you want people to eat at the restaurants. I think I actually like Iron Maiden less after attending this show. They played most of their "The Book Of Souls" material, with a few songs from the past. It was a sin that they did not play "Run To The Hills" - highly appropriate to play in Oklahoma. This will be the last time that I go to see Iron Maiden. Oh, the quality of the sound was sub par. Very disappointing.

Iron Maiden played close to 2 hrs, first half of show was heavy on new material which is a great album. The energy never dropped and Bruce kept the audience screaming and into the show throughout the night. A great live band. The BB@T arena on the other hand did not seem prepared for opening night of the Book of Soul tour. The site states that doors open 90 mins prior to most events. This night the doors opened less then 30 mins before the show start time of 8:00 pm. The crowd had been lining up well in advance and received no word as to what was going on. By the time people started getting admitted into the arena the opening band had already started playing and was missed by the majority of people attending the show.

Iron Maiden absolutely killed it. Killer set list except for Tears of a Clown. Venue was clueless as to how to handle tickets. Doors opened an hour late. While crowd missed the opening act.

This was a great show! Bruce was on point with his vocals. The set list was a great mix of classic hits and new tracks. The brutal drive from Orlando down to Ft. Lauderdale was well worth it!

I've been to Somewhere In Time (1985), Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (Early 90s), and this show (opening night of the tour), and by far, this was their best show. Hard to believe I was watching the same band doing their thing thirty years later (and sounding even better). Set list was good, stage setup just as you'd expect. The sound left a little to be desired, but it was the room (BB&T Center is an ice rink and has a LOT of reflection). I ended up stuffing wet paper in my ears to get rid of the "CCCCHHCHCHCHCHCHHCCH!" white noise bouncing off the back wall. Incredible show. One more criticism not caused by Iron Maiden's hand, the handling of e-tickets by BB&T Center was absolutely horrible. We missed the opening band entirely and almost missed the start of the concert due to inadequate staffing & knowledge by venue staff in handing the entry. For those using the "No tickets will be issued. Your plastic gets you in", beware. Hopefully, it's better elsewhere.

Made the drive from South, Texas to Tulsa to see Iron Maiden. The BOK is a nice venue to see a show. Raven Age, the opener, playing only their second U.S. Show was a solid metal band. Maiden started the show with two new songs...and played at least five off the new album before nights end as well as several classics. Great show. Never miss a chance to see Maiden, you never know when they will call it quits. Up the Irons!

The Raven Age opened up for Iron Maiden. I thought they did an excellent job. Young, energized and a really tight band!! Iron Maiden hit the stage about 9:15 pm and proceeded to shred the stage for almost 2 hours. Played a lot off Book of Souls which some people didn't care for. But, it's the Book of Souls tour!! They did get a numbers of oldies in also. "Children of the Damned, "The Trooper" and "Number of the Beast" to name a few. All the band members were on point, for sure!! Bruce had a lot of energy, roaming the stage like a hungry animal. Considering his recent cancer w/ radiation and chemotherapy, I wasn't sure how his performance would be. He did a great job of hitting all those notes!! All in all a very good show. For all who expect to hear all early 80's. You will be disappointed. Expect to hear from Book of Souls. That is what they are promoting. I saw them in 1982. They played new music back then too. But, the new back then has since turned classic. So, yeah. Enjoy the show!!

Classic Iron Maiden show. Predictable. They"re always play same old songs + 4 to 6 songs from new album. I am sick and tied of Fear of the dark, The trooper and ooooooooohhh What about 22 Accacia avenue, Were eagles dare, Caught somewhere in time, Infinite dreams. But at the end of the day....this is Iron Maiden !!

Seen them on TV often, first time live. It is great to grow up with a band and still see them at the top of their game. First it was lots of fun flying into FLL and seeing the passengers ogling Ed Force One. Ate lunch at Nicko's Rock N Roll Ribs - delicious and they had the Trooper beer. The fans were the coolest of any of the hundred plus shows I've seen. I took my 22 year old daughter who despite not know the whole back catalog, loved the energy and musicianship of the band. These guys can really play!

Great show. They played six songs from the new album and I am glad for that because the new stuff is great!! If you are looking for a greatest hits only show, go see the Stones or AC/DC--Maiden is putting out great new material still and they should be proud to play it live. I Bruce did an amazing job post surgery. The rest of the guys looked great too, especially Harris, they definitely are standing up well for their age. I loved the show, loved the hype and build up for it to arrive and being there on the first night was also something to remember. I even like the Trooper beer, but $14 a can was pretty steep!! If you have a chance to check them out, you should--I doubt we'll see a tour the likes of this one from them again...I do hope I am wrong about that though. Up the irons!!

Bruce, Dave, Adrian, Janick, Steve, and Nicko are still at the top of their game! The sound was amazing! The stage was cool! The lights, the pyrotechnics, EDDIE!!! I loved every minute!!! The video at the beginning was really awesome too!! Bruce sounded amazing on vocals!! Truly the greatest heavy metal band ever!!! I literally drove through a tornado driving from Tampa to Ft. Lauderdale, and I would do it again!!! If you get the chance, go see Iron Maiden on their Book of Souls tour!!! They do not disappoint!!! The only bad part was that it had to end!!!

I had been waiting for 20 years to get the chance to see Maiden in concert and they did not let me down. My sons went with me and we had the time of our lives. They had everything we wanted: Eddie came out, Bruce's voice was fantastic as usual, the pyro's, props, etc. It was amazing to say the least. Only thing that would have made it perfect would have been if they played Deja Vu, my favorite song of all time. Rock on!! Up the Irons!!

This was a birthday gift for my brother and he LOVED it! So did I. We got there in time for Testament, they were the perfect group to get it started. After what felt like only a 20 minute break, Anthrax was next.....and they brought it! I've seen Anthrax many times now and this was arguably their best performance! Their performance of AC/DC's TNT was the best cover ever. Megadeth was next up and by that time the sun had fully set, the crowd was close to full capacity and everyone was fired up for their performance. The entire crowd sang Happy Birthday to Dave Mustaine since it was his actual birthday that day. They were really good. Peace Sells and Holy Wars were the main standouts. Finally Iron Maiden went on after like a 45 minute set up time. The house was 100% packed! We had floor seats but were way off to the side of the stage at the beginning of the set. By mid-show, we had moved to straight center stage with all the pushing and moshing going on. Absolutely killer show! Same set list as the last time I saw them a year ago at Irvine Meadows but still killer nonetheless.

been to probably a dozen Maiden shows over the course of 30 years, the last prior to this one in 2012 on the opening night of their "Maiden England" tour in Charlotte, NC. This show in Raleigh was the same set list, which consisted of some classics and tracks from post 1987 (where frankly I checked out of Maiden). Given that regardless it is Iron Maiden and they are usually a tight, punchy, metal band but not tonight. This show even though it was their opening night of the mini US run they seemed tired and going through the motions. Far from the band I remember from 20 years ago, much less last year when they seemed to be a different band. In any case, everyone seemed to enjoy, Maiden hadn't been to these parts in well...ever (unless you count Bruce Dickinson as a solo artist at a club near NC State where I saw him perform in1997). BTW: Megadeth put on the usual serviceable performance as the opening act and for some strange reason I also thought Tesla was supposed to be on this bill when I purchased the tickets, maybe I'm mistaken. Maybe the last time for me in person to say...Up the Irons !
