The xx

This was my 3rd xx show and I traveled from the San Antonio area to see them on their fall tour. Their spring show in Austin was AMAZING - definitely a different vibe here, the energy from the crowd was lacking. In Austin, their show sold out so fast that they added a 2nd night so I was a bit surprised to find out they weren't sold out here, especially for being in such an intimate venue. They still remain my #1 fav and I'm glad I got to see them and be so close

The xx performance was amazingly beautiful, no regrets. I'm happy I got to see them play live and up front and center. They are really amazing artist and their music is inspirational.

First of all, i'm very impressed by the control of the venue, but the show, i couldn't get my eyes off of them, i totally recommend them, very talented people, and so humble. I had so much fun.

the XX sounded great live. Saw them at Coachella 2010. They pretty much sounded just like how they sound on their cd.

Their voices are amazing and Jamie XX on the turn table is unbelievable! Completely enjoyed this concert!

Great energy all around, I would've loved a digital version of the show to listen too. The xx deconstructed some songs and upped the tempo on others that made your heart flutter or move your feet.

Each and every member shines through in their live performance. Oliver, Romy, and Jamie put on an amazing show. There set was a little short for my taste but each song they played was a great one! The stage was simple yet very colorful during Jamie s song with Romy <3

I was so bummed that I couldn't make any of the SF shows earlier this year so I was stoked when I heard The XX was coming to Sac. Tycho was a phenomenal opening act and The XX was just unforgettable. One of the best acts I've ever seen live and I've been to numerous concerts! Such a talented band and the vocals were incredible! I have never written a review for a show before but The XX was stellar. I definitely am going to make a point to go to any other nearby shows for future tours!

This was my second time seeing the xx, the first being at blue hills bank pavilion. It was nothing short of incredible. I saw them at thompsons point this time, and it was such an amazing and intimate show. I was right up front and definitely shed a few tears throughout. So much emotion and passion put into this music. I love how they mix things up live -- makes it a great dance party as well as something more laid back. An awesome balance of both. Loved the venue so much too.

This was my 5th XX show. We drove up from MA. Always great to see them

I was really excited to finally get to see The XX live and they did not disappoint! Romy's voice was just as beautiful live as it is on their records. I enjoyed the entire show, I'm used to Rock concerts were drunk people push and shove to the front, this crowd was very chill and respectful. (They didn't come on until the sun set)

If I hadn't had a medical test, we would have gone the next night too!

The xx are truly beautiful souls shining bright and sharing their light with the World! ❤️

Evening of perfection starting with beautiful weather, fantastic venue, and a brilliant, mesmerizing performance by the XX!

This was my first time seeing the XX, and they did not disappoint. I wasn't really fan of the opening act, it was a bit too techno for my taste. After standing in the crowd too long during the opening act, we decided to sit up stairs, which was also my first time. This was better, I'll get into that later. The XX came on a bit late, but it was worth it. The played beautifully, and I couldn't wait for the next song whenever they ended the last one. A great encore, and the act made us actually feel that this was their favorite place to be. At least they sound convincing when they said it.

Excellent show. They sound even better live than on record. Amazing.

The xx is an incredible live music act. They/their songs sound exactly the same as their studio versions. A couple of the old songs were remixed to give a new beat. They interact with the crowd and connect to you in such a large venue. Love them and their music!

The XX is pure talent. They are amazing performers live and are so extremely grateful for their fans. What really topped off their show was the light show. The use of colors, light, and mirrors just completed the experience. Everything was perfect. I'd see them live over and over again.

I drove 6 hours from the LA area to see The xx, it was worth it! The venue is huge and I was fortunate enough to have our Lyft driver drop us off on the corner while the hundreds of fans were across the street, that we were able to blend in with another couple that by the time we got in I was 4 rows away from the stage! I've enjoyed this band since '09 and this has been my 3rd time seeing them. My heart is full!

I have been to every one of their tours (3) and I have never been let down! They are hands down, amazing and it always breaks my heart when the show comes to an end. Please go see them whenever they come to town. You will never be disappointed.

Great show, high energy. Romy, Oliver and Jamie were so genuine.

I have read a few reviews on here talking about how they were not too impressed with seeing The XX live so I went in with little expectations. I was completely blown away. The beats are much louder live which made the crowd instantly start dancing. The way Oliver and Romy play the bass and guitar together and sway, the lights that were completely in sync with the music, and even just their stage presence was hypnotic. I think I forgot to breathe during the encore. I never looked away from the stage. They sound so incredible live. Listening to the albums does not do them any justice. Seeing them in concert took them from a band I like to a band I love and will always attend when they are in my town. I'm in deep now.

I digged the open bands. Got myself 3 new cds & a record from the Chromatics. The XX played a great set list and had great energy. Beautiful people started to dance around me. Had a great time. Loved the Orchestra at the end.

I've been a huge fan of this group for a few years now and have seen them live 2 other times before seeing them at the Hollywood Bowl. They sounded phenomenal and I love how they acted so excited/grateful to be performing at the bowl. The lighting/lazers were top notch and the encore was out of this world!

This was by far the best venue and concert I've been to. Their performance was amazing and I had a great time. I recommend seeing them especially with friends or bf/gf because it's a very romantic show especially with their music. I will continue going to their shows because it was so good.

The XX ! They had me swaying all night long with their beautiful music. I don't regret buying two tickets for my one year with my partner. The wait was worthwhile. I would recommend anyone. Family, really all ages would enjoy to see one of their shows.

I didn't really expect the concert to be anything special but that's what blew my mind! If anything, The xx was more than amazing! This was one event that happens once in a life time and for that I'm grateful. The opening artists set the tone for the concert with cool and easy electronic beats. Austra's performance was incredible while the Chromatics was okay. I really enjoyed the songs. The setlist was more than perfect. Towards the end, the orchestra played Together with The xx which made the even more epic. Again, The xx couldn't have made a better show. I hope they will come again to the Bowl!

The show was great. Worth every penny and enjoyed every minute.

Drove up from San Diego for this show. The venue was amazing. So cool that everyone can bring snacks and wine bottles...and if you didn't bring any, you can buy it there! Also awesome that you can rent seat cushions for a dollar each. Recommended. The sound quality was great and so were the visuals!! The parking is "stack" parking so I thought it would take forever to be able to leave but it wasn't too bad. Great experience overall.

The opening acts of Austra and Chromatics really set the atmosphere for a phenomenal concert. The xx was surreal, the lighting was amazing and the Hollywood Bowl was an amazing atmosphere and made the xx that much better. You could really feel the emotion in each song the xx played. The xx were honestly better live than on cd or ipod, even though i love their albums on both those. Overall an amazing show! LOVED IT!

The xx music is delicate and very powerful. I can't remember in a long time being so effected by an overwhelming band. It was really a night worth. The xx, a British band with two dreamy albums, was absolutely bewitching during this concert .

Huge fan so i feel my personal opinion is a bit biased, but who better to describe the experience than a true fan?! What sets the stage is the sick light show, kudos to the set designers and techs. Romy and Oliver sounded spot on, as epic or if not better than the albums, resonating in our heads like a haunting heartbreak, yet leaving a warm fuzzy feeling nonetheless. Jaime was electric and brought the funk, setting the tempo through sprinkled bits of hip hop drums here and there to keep us feeling alive. Overall visually captivating and aurally magnificent. Great show to take your girl out to see.

Not only was I alone and not drinking, seeing one person act as a whole band :(

The xx made their Pittsburgh debut and put on an unbeatable (and sold out!) show. I don't think a single fan left the stage feeling disappointed. The crowd was, to say in my old age, a bit obnoxious, but The xx made the experience well worth it.

The xx were mesmerizing. I found a new appreciation for their album Coexist. I'm a big fan of the xx , and was not disappointed. I love the venue and I dare say not one bad seat. You can see the stage at any angle. My music experience was enriched by this evening's events. I would totally go see the xx again and would definitely see a performance at the Berkeley Greek Theatre again.

This show blew my mind. I was excited at first so I bought my tickets early and as the date approached I was worried they might not be so great live. I go to multiple shows a month so sometimes it can be hard to impress me. Don't get me wrong, I love the Xx and their unique sound but I don't love every song on the albums they have released. When I got there and heard them and saw them do their thing my opinion completely changed. The whole stage set up was equipped with light/laser effects and it just enhanced the experience of listening to their music. Songs I was on the fence about finally made sense when I saw them performed live. And most importantly their sound guy was spot on in the venue I went to, the sound was amazing. So basically go see the Xx, I doubt you will regret it!

The XX has mesmerizing music, but the live show is so much more. The chemistry of the group and seamless playlist were highlights of the show. The artistic design of the stage lighting seemed to be custom made for the Uptown, and the architectural features of the venue were used in a wonderful way. The sound producers did a wonderful job with the balance in the theater, as well. Resonance without too much volume. Regrets: I wanted the show to be longer...

The show was amazing! The opening acts were alright, not great but alright. Once The xx came out the mood of the crowd changed instantly. Everyone was so chill and excited. The band really knows how to put on a show. Watching them play live was perfection. They played my favorite songs: Crystalised, VCR, Angels, Sunset. You can see that they really love what they do. I would definitely attend another of their shows. Such great vibes!

I loved the surround system and how energetic, interactive the band was. I loved their long and entertaining performances and wishes it could've been extended until the morning because it was so much fun! This was my first concert and I would never imagine it this perfect!

xx is even better live. The emotion and sultry soulfulness pours right off the stage. Wiuld definitely see the xx again, and again.

Big fan of the xx and their music is in constant rotation in my iPod. They sounded awesome live and I'm not sure there's a bad seat in the Ryman so it was really great to be right there.

The show was everything I could have hoped for. The stage set up perfectly embodied The XX, moody and dark. The band was perfect, as always The National's sound set-up was perfect. Can't wait to see these guys again on their 2nd visit to VA.

This show was the most incredible performance I have ever experienced live. Everything from the lighting to the set to the quality of sound so far exceeded my expectations.

They were great and to my surprise sounded better than the album.

Every bit was amazing and beautiful and im not just saying this because I love the band. The atmosphere was electric and the performance sent chills down my spine. I would love to see them live again.

It was a great experience. The combination of both: the performance and venue. The Paradise Theater is a hidden gem! It is sensational. The show itself was beyond all expectations. The XX gave it all to the audience and performed their best.

Although they were only able to play 30 minutes of their planned 75 minute show due to rain, those 30 minutes had me undeniably sold. Their performance was exactly like their studio album, and I couldn't believe what I was seeing and hearing at the same time. Unfortunately, this was their first Vegas show, and got rained off the stage. They still tried their hardest to stay up there as long as possible for us, and that's the most you could ask of them. I'm still giving them 5 stars due to them trying so hard to keep playing for us. The minute I see they are coming back to Vegas, I'm getting my tickets, and going. I cannot wait for that day.

First of all, this was the most amazing, intimate venue to see this band. Highly recommend seeing them in a small venue. This really was unlike any concert I've ever been to. It was just about the music and everyone's personal experience with it. Everyone was seated the majority of the show and no one talked..which made the night all about The XX as it should have been. Their whispery voices were uninterrupted the entire time, which magnified the sound and experience. Towards the end, when things heightened, people stood up if they wanted or continued to sit. There was no pressure as to your preference. No judgement, just music. The XX played every song on their album and a few new ones from the new CD -- which I can tell is going to be amazing. Oliver and Romy's voices were so angelic and just as good -- if not better -- live as they are on the album. Oliver spoke to the crowd the most, and his voice is oh so sexy. Jaime killed it in the background, putting out instrumentals that took over your body. The light show and fog really added to the entire experience perfectly. The lights and the bass would boom simultaneously and impact the audience immediately. The entire night was so surreal, especially the encore -- Intro. My only complaint was that is was far too short!! But they only have one CD so can't really do much about that. This band is going to continue to do great things, and I can't wait to keep being a apart of it and seeing them live!!!

Terminal 5 although many people dislike this place I found to be very inviting. It was easy to access the bar and still have a good view of the music/surroundings. The XX was awesome... and the music wasn't soo loud I felt like I would be deaf for the rest of my life. All over, great show. Probably one of the top 10 I've seen.

one of the BEST concerts of the year for me, hands down. amazing ambiance, the lighting was gorgeous and the overall performance gave me chills. if you ever have a chance to see the XX live, DO NOT MISS IT, you wont regret it.

Went to see the xx play at the orpheum, didn't expect too much, since I didnt know the opening acts. From their music videos, the xx wouldn't seem like a great live band, but they did perform well. The performance was pretty good and the two opening acts did great to set up the mood for the xx. Overall great concert, and I wish future success to these three bands.

Nosaj thing was definitely an amazing opener! Wasn't a big fan of Phantogram.. But The xx was amazing! I'm definitely seeing them when they're back in the area in September!

The xx have been my favorite band since I was in high school (I'm now 23). This was my first time seeing them and I'm so glad I got my hands on one of their sold out shows. It's so surreal seeing them live. Their songs have so much feeling into them, especially when Romy sung "Performance". Jamie did a little sample of his solo DJ set which was a good change of pace from their mellow, chill songs. It amazes me how they're actually pretty shy people, but put out such a great show and show so much gratitude for all the fans that came to the show.

The xx have finally returned from a long hiatus! I saw them earlier this year in San Francisco and it was great to see them in Sacramento. The xx have slower music for the most part, but they are very intense, you can really feel their energy. Their set is hands down one of the best I have seen. The whole stage is see-through and there's lights under everything, there were these really cool tall mirrored towers that moved throughout. The xx have a unique sound and they sounded amazing in person. I was surprised how few people showed up to this show, but I'm guessing most people were like me and saw them at one of their sold out San Francisco shows earlier this year. The top section of the arena was closed and there wasn't a ton of people in the seats but the floor was packed, and the crowd was so loud! It sounded like the arena was full, but the fans were really enjoying themselves and made sure the band knew. It was a bonus to see Tycho open, since they are from the Sacramento area.

Awesome venue. The Criterion in OKC is one of the best small venues I've ever been to. The XX broke from their chill vibe and put on a very lively and upbeat/up tempo concert. Far exceeded my expectations.

The show was great overall. My couple of complaints are somewhat picky. 1. Not sure if it was the venue acoustics or sound programming but the subsonic bass was kind of "boomy" it just kind of turned into this sound that didn't have a musical quality or contribute to the music. 2. And this is most disappointing. NO ENCORE! They set up with a very slow "we love you" song then goodbye. Waved and walked off stage. The crowd seemed to just go "oh okay" and started leaving. It was very disappointing and the first time I have ever seen a live show that didn't have an ENCORE. It was disappointing.

The venue was amazing. The band was incredible. I would definitely go to another concert at this venue.

To anyone worried about how the xx's sound translates to a live event, don't worry about it, they sound great live. I thoroughly enjoyed Jamie XX's drumming. The only thing I would change about the performance is substituting a Replica with Violent Noise and Performance with Seesaw. It would have been cool to see Stranger in the Room as well.

If you want to witness a group that's true to their sound, The XX is a must!

Smoke and mirrors, I would expect nothing less from The xx. Being my first time experiencing them live, I will say they did not disappoint. They went through a range of emotions with their tracks, from Jamie's pumped-up edm hits to Romy's intimate solo rendition of "Performance." Oliver very much took the reins in addressing the audience, making jokes about being single and not wanting to screw up "Replica." This concert was for everyone. Die-hard fans, interested newcomers, and people of all ages and ethnicity was there to appreciate The xx's master performance. Highlight songs of the night? "On Hold," which had everyone moving, and "Angels" the dreamy, shoe-gazing encore. Never has there been a crowd filled with more energy and anticipation than tonight. All I can say after that is "thank you" to this extremely skilled and genuine band.

The xx did it again. A completely ethereal show. The set seemed a bit short to me, but what was there was awesome.

Great Show! The opening act was not on point, but The Xx put on a fantastic performance.

Great show but a little quiet at times. Halfway through the band really picked it up and started to flow from song to song. There was a Jamie XX interlude where he DJ'ed for about 8 minutes and that was the most memorable part of the show. Conclusion: Need to go to a Jamie XX set.

They did incredible arrangements on old and new songs, and the lights and show is really amazing.

I waited 3 years to see The XX.... And it was a night I couldn't forget. I ended up going to another show, because they were performing for 3 nights in SF. I went through a roller coaster of emotions once they started to perform old songs from their first album. MUST SEE!!

They sell out shows for a reason, absolutely amazing show!

Starting off a hard week of finals I knew I needed something to ease me. Going to see the Xx was just what I needed and it made me so much more ready for the week to follow. The sound was amazing and the music was something that I will never forget.

This was such an amazing night. I was feeling a bit under the weather and almost skipped the event. I am so glad that i didn't because their music helped me forget that I was sick. They were absolutely amazing.

This concert was fantastic. There are very few bands that sound better live. These guys are one of them. There voice and energy were great to watch and hear. Really loved the show and these guys were very kind in addressing their fans. Not over the top. They have their own style. They played for about 2 hours straight.

I had been waiting for years to see The XX live and of course, they did not disappoint! Their energy could be felt throughout the room and you genuinely felt that they love what they do. When they announced Sampha was their opener, it was over. I knew the concert was going to be amazing but they superseded all expectations. I would totally go see them both again.

It was a great show. I felt like the space between the opener and main event was a little long though.

One of the best concerts I've ever been to. Jamie XX is hands down the best artist on the planet, and it definitely helps to have 2 incredible vocalists that give me chills.

This was my first time, but I already want to see them again on this current tour. The energy, atmosphere and entire performance was one of the best shows I'd ever seen. Their talent shines through, true genuine and humbled artists.

The xx was a truly euphoric experience. They've captured my heart and soul. Their albums will never sound the same to me because their live performance was better than anything that could be compressed into a sound file.

I had such a good time last Monday night watching the XX performing ! I love them and the show was awesome !

The xx has great music (we all know that), but the light show takes a spare production and sends it next level. The sound guys did an amazing job making sure every word and note were heard clearly from any place in the audience. The fact the band donates a percentage of the proceeds to local LBGTQ charities was a great added touch. Definitely a show not to miss.

One of the best shows I've seen to date (ranking high with Radiohead!) The venue provided an intimate setting for The XX to connect with every fan, while being large enough for concert goers to dance and move as the band rocked out. The concert opened with a raw performance by Perfume Genius, which was the perfect appetizer! I also can't wait to catch more great shows at this venue. (Wayne Coyne even showed up to enjoy this killer set!)

The venue was excellent and the employees were amazing. I drove all the way from San Diego and they made it worth the drive.

I love the XX and the only reason why I m not rating the event 5 stars is because of the long wait time. The event started at 7:30 and the opening band played for a while but then there was this extremely long break in between and the xx didn t make it to the stage this after 9:30 and only stayed on till 10:30 :( their performance was amazing though

The XX was so incredible. The forum is such a great venue. The seats are awesome and the crowd was so fun.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The sound quality on the floor was AMAZING.
