CrossFit Games

Expertly run event. Inspirational on all levels. Athletes were superb as was their conduct at all times. All spectators were fit and courteous. I would recommend this to anyone! I hope they come back to Albany next year; I will bring friends and family.

It was an amazing and great event. Would do it again. Only the ordering of the tickets was ridicoulous and very annoying, because I had to fill the spam robot about 50 times before I could order the tickets. No reservation possible. That was the only bad experience with the Ticket ordering thru Ticketmaster. Maybe next year they improove that.

What an experience ......... it's a must ! I purchased the Madison Club passes which made the trip that much better! Met so many amazing people!

The Regionals were amazing.... the venue was not that great. No room for vendors. The food was just ok. The arena was so crowded and they had security all over asking people to not stand up. Need to find a better location.

They ran out of food and beer multiple times a day for 3 days. When they had food, service was absurdly slow. I saw no evidence the people working behind the counter had ever worked concessions in their life and they certainly had no manager they were accountable to. One day I waited 20 min only to get to the front and be told their was no beer. Each concession stand had no idea what the others had and simply recommended customers go check themselves. The management of the venue was awful. The management of the athletic events was impressive and efficient by comparison.

Great event and venue! Would have preferred higher quality food.

The regional games were very exciting. Lots of action, team and individual events. Amazing athletes in a very high energy arena.

The venue was fantastic, parking was easy and affordable, sound quality was good and seats gave you a great vantage. One thing I'd do next year - allow food into the venue. The fact that filtered water was provided is great and therefore, disallowing beverages is understandable but forcing your patrons to buy $10 meals gets too pricey. Family events like CrossFit should allow families to bring snacks, meals, etc. in packs/coolers.

This event was well set up . The food was awesome, it catered to the crossfit community. I will definitely come back here over and over ..

This review is mainly our complaint on the food or lack there of! Very disappointing they couldn't cater to the crowd with more paleo friendly food or allowing people to bring food in. Rogue did a great with the set up and the crew did a great job between heats. My husband and I are 95% paleo. On Friday we brought food in with no problems and bought some paleo snacks at one of the vendors. However Saturday the lady said "no outside food or drinks!" which made us buy food. They ran out of salad dressing and had very very limited food selection. All around food made it for a long weekend.

Absolutely no instructions related to the event were published. Day 1 we were allowed to bring water and food into the event and park for free. Day 2 we had to pay for parking and were not allowed to bring water and food into the event. My wife and I had to pour out the water that we had brought. Again, no information was given to us before we walked the mile and a half from our hotel regarding food and water. On each day, the event ran out of food. So, with no food allowed to be brought into the event, what exactly were we supposed to eat? Finally, ten dollars for parking? Really?

The event was well organized. All events started precisely on time. The announcers were clear and animated. The wait for food from the snack bar was horrible! They should have hired more people or had volunteers to help with this. Attending this event is getting much more expensive. I think CrossFit needs to consider going back to a fairgrounds. One needed to pay for parking and no RV parking was available.

The actual event was excellent. Ran on-time the entire weekend (a notable exception was one event starting 2 minutes late). Well-organized and fun to watch. The Event Center ran out of food all three days. There was a strict, enforced no outside food or drink policy. The concession stands were poorly organized and did a bad job of communicating what, if anything, was available at any given time. I understand there were a lot of people, but for an event center that had sold-out, they were not prepared.

Only gave the event 4 stars because the food vendors inside the building ran out of food! Don't know if that's a crossfit miscue or the venue's underestimating of customers. Either way, the event was spectacular to watch!!! This sport is only going to grow! Watch out!!! People who attended are the best, well behaved and truly are a part of a bigger cross fit community. Great to be around even in competition. I would definitely go back!!!

The event was great and, the venue was nice. Had a great time watching norcals fittst compete. The bad thing was that they wouldn't let us bring food in. Crossfiters usually eat every couple hours. Wouldn't have been a huge deal, but they ran out of food all day. that was crap. Also more room for vendors wa needed.

I hope CrossFit learns from their first year in Madison and sets up a better fan experience for next year. A huge disappointment was the miss representation of the General Admission Festival Pass tickets. They were marketed as access to all events except the nightly show. We were never allowed in the Coliseum at the 12 noon opening or anytime after. If you don't have Coliseum tickest you will not see anything inside other than teens or masters in the early morning. Seating in the North Lot was inadequate, would guess half the spectators for the individual events were standing. Food vendors were not prepared for the volume, most were sold out of things early in the afternoon on Friday. Beer Garden, hear too over half the people standing. The Coliseum is way too small for the demand, sad they didn't pick a larger venue.

this year was awesome and fun. thank you crossfit for making this the easiest year to watch in Madison and online.

Madison is a very nice city with views, good food and nice people. The venue is very spread out and difficult to navigate because of the large number of people. In addition, the schedule also makes it difficult to watch your favorite events unless you only stay in the arena. Food options were scarce and the lines were long. However, watching the games was the most important part and that experience did not disappoint!

When I purchased my ticket I read that I would be able to get into the daytime events to see the athletes perform. Our ticket only let us in to the main areas but not in the arena. This event was also way oversold but probably 20,000 people. There was no where to sit except on the pavement or ground.

Overall the event has been more organized. Most of the key events now take place at the coliseum which is less crowded than anywhere else. However two major points why I'm dissapointed - short eating options, long lines waiting for food you will waste 1 hour of your time on a line for not healthy food. -Merchandise: Saturday morning, day 3 of the event and all the official games shirts from competitors has been gone. This is like if you where in the camp nou and couldn find a messi shirt. Think I'm not going to attend again.

Completely disorganized and terrible communication internally and externally w fans. We got a different answer each time we asked about something.

It was my first regional and definitely worth the 3 hrs driving to see the best CF athletes in the world under one roof !!!

If you love Crossfit and or like to workout then this event is for you. I had the best time ever

You could sit where you want, see all your favorite athletes, go shopping for work out clothes you don't need, and possibly get a picture with whoever you favor there. I really enjoyed going to regionals. I enjoyed it so much that I was yelling with everyone in the crowd even though I was running on two hours of sleep because I was at the casino the night before. Highly recommend this to anyone even if just for one day. The tickets are super cheap and you could basically get front row seats anywhere in the stadium.

I was impressed at how well this event was orchestrated. i only stayed for Saturday's events, but next year I will absolutely stay for the three days

Absolutely amazing event to see. Set up was great and loved being able to see the athletes warming up.

CrossFit Regionals ran like a well oiled machine. Everything was right on time and they were able to keep us entertained even between events. I hope that Castro brings back at least some barbell work next year. It's so much fun to watch. I would like to see CrossFit use a different venue next year. There are very few restaurants in the area and the ones that were there were not equipped to handle the large crowds that the event brings. Many restaurants were closed all together on Sunday as well. I also think that the Times Union Center could have put a little more thought into the food that they were selling in the venue. At an event were most of the people are athletic, I would think they would make much more money selling salads as opposed to pizza and french fries.

The event was great, we had a good time and I would definitely pay to go again.

Love CrossFit Love Regionals However this event location was not well suited, vendors were setup around the outside of the interior with very little room, creating traffic jams everywhere you walked. The Times Union Center has concession which do not provide the good food that Crossfiters normally eat and instead provide garbage chicken fingers and fries that is #1 poor quality and #expensive. All previous years we had food vendors serving great meals geared for the Crossfit community. This his a must have and must return or I will not return.

Great venue to watch the CrossFit regionals. We were able to move around and see different angles/areas. And the event was amazing!

Everything about the CrossFit Regional competition was excellent. The only reason I couldn't give an "Amaing" rating was because the food and parking were way too expensive.Also would have appreciated some food vendors with healthier choices. The food at "??? Plum" was awesome and healthy, but VERY expensive. When you're at an event for 3 whole days, you spend a lot on food. Also, the website said parking was $8/day. That was true on day 1, but went up to $10 on days 2 & 3. The only break was a 3-day pass that allowed for in and out privileges, but we weren't going anywhere so it would have cost us $2 more. The competition itself was organized and very well run and exciting!

I have never seen a more prolific commitment to be a FINISHER in my life. This community of people show, daily, what it really means to "do the best that you can". The CrossFit sport is ALL about supporting the next guy or gal, this needs to be an Olympic Event. BEAST MODE to the power of ten.

Amazing! We all had a great time watching some incredible athletes

I spent the money to attend this event but would have had a better viewing experience if I would have stayed at home and watched it on TV. Don't get me wrong, the venue was unbelievable however sitting on the end provided for a terrible viewing experience when the athletes were competing from one end to the other. Although those were not my seats my dear friend paid more money and got a worse seat in my opinion and his. He got to watch the lifting events on the jumbo TV and said he would have rather watched it on TV than pay what he did for the tickets It was also horrible watching athlete interviews but not being able to hear them. It's like the producers didn't care about the fans in the stands and were only affording the interviews to the networks. Several fans were yelling for the microphone to be turned on. HORRIBLE!!!

Me and my brother travelled all the way from Norway to be at Invitationals! Great people, great event! Only thing was that the music was not nearly high enough! We expected intense workouts and LOUD music! And the athlete interview between events should be heard in the statium also and not only on the live broadcast.. We hated sitting there and watching like Rich Froning and Camille getting interviewed after events and Rory Mckernan giving info and talking without being able to hear what they were saying... Security people SUCKED.... After I got my autograph from Rich Froning I was SO excited! We pulled back to wait for the Cool Down show to be done to maybe be able to speak with Rich and Julie and Jason and the others. Went up to the entrance area cause before the event started we had some KillCliffs which we were told would not be allowed inside the arena, so we asked the man in the infodesk if he could hold on to them until the show was over, he was awesome and did. And we went up to collect them and drink them during the Cool Down show. We couldn't drink it all so we asked the security guy if we could just go out and leave the Kill Cliff in the car and still be allowed to come back in. He said, and i quote "Yes if you have your tickets.. or just go, I'll remember your faces!" So we did, and when we came back we walked in and got stopped by another security guy. He said "once you go out you can't come back in" and we explaind to him that we had talked to the other security guy and he told us that is was okay cause we just wanted to put the killcliff in the car instead of throwing it away. We pointed to the guard that promised us that we would come back in.. and he came over and said that he had promised us. but the other security said .. "No. once you go out you can't come back in".. Can u imagine the dissapointment we felt? coming aaaall the way from Norway for a two hour event and getting treated like that? thrown out when we were promised that we could come back in.

The event was fun. First time ever seeing crossfit in a competition live. The seats were okay but the price was too much. Tickets were 45$ then a $15 processing fee. No way with a family would I want to pay these prices. This is why I gave it 3 stars. $60 for 2 hours of entertainment. Not worth it. I won't be going to this type of event again until the price comes down.

Very good event. (Does the USA always have to win in the USA - I guess the crowd thought so). - Best part was the teams competing at the same time. - The flat spot in the show for me was the individual event (dead lift I believe). Crowd wasn't that into it. It took the team excitement out of it. Generally slowed things down. Maybe it was needed to allow other team members to recover - because the stamina of the athletes was pretty amazing. Would recommend they pick events that allow all the teams to be competitive - so the final results are a bit closer (ie., pick specialties that each team can win points - with final event being the decider)

This CrossFit team competition with 16 top athletes was fast-moving, entertaining, and inspirational.

I would go to this event every year or every week if that was the case. Loved it. Go USA

The Crossfit team presented an awesome event! I would have expected a full house, but the people who were there were enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the sport. I would have wished I had known about the outside village so I could have gone to it. The best part of the event was that USA won!!

It was great to see all the elite athletes compete in one place! The spectators were amazing as well - cheering regardless of the outcome, even if reps failed.

Not stroller friendly event, however you could bring one in, just not allowed to take it to seating area or down a few steps. Fortunately there was a good group of people that left our stuff alone. but it would have been nice if they mentioned it somewhere so i could have brought the baby carrier. happy they allowed diaper bag in with stroller. .... They ran out of food!!! WTH?! the one thing a lot of people were outraged about was they ran out of food. you cannot, NOT allow people to bring in food, if your NOT going to feed them! that was insane. also a lady working there informed our line that the SAME food was being offered on the other side of the stadium, with no line. and she was dead WRONG. need better employees, someone didn't do their job of informing correctly.

It was amazing to see many of the greatest athletes compete.

The event was well organized with detailed information on the schedule and progression through events. Facility was clean and welcoming.

I started CrossFit 7 months ago and this was my first time being to Regionals, I loved it!! Watching the pros compete made me even more excited for my own training in this sport.

The Event itself was great! The food choices were not healthy choices And you are not allowed to bring your own healthy food

overall we had a good time watching the crossfit games. the city of madison was as good as anticipated to hosting that many people. crossfit tries very hard to keep up with "the times" and therefore a lot of content and information is online via mobile devices. it was next to impossible to get any service and when you could get service there was so little bandwidth to be had nothing would load or send quickly at all. maybe the city of madison need to let companies build more towers to alleviate this issue. the amount of food for 10's of 1000's of people was ridiculous. not only that but vendors ran out of food by the second day. also what kind of security protocol doesn't let people bring in bt 1 bottle of water in August?! when several events would be taking place outside?!

First the website mentioned that you needed tickets for the stadium only for night time entertainment. Not true! Anything after noon you needed tickets and assigned seats. They where not available! Sold Out! We had to sit on a cement floor in the Beer Garden for 4 hours to watch our son on a team, some days were able to get a chair. We are in our mid 60's. Had to watch on a large TV screen that they split in half. Why show on that screen what people could go and watch? This has never been an issue at regionals or in Carson City. Ticketmaster did not clarify this even when asked. Parking tickets where suppose to be sent, never received them! Why are the Masters, teens, together with teams and individuals. Not enough vendors for food. Lines were very long. Being from Wisconsin more people would have come if it was not so screwed up this year.

The atmosphere of the entire 2017 Crossfit Games was amazing. From the numerous vendors and insane athletes, the entirety of the event was a blast to attend. It is a perfect event for any health nuts and exercise enthusiasts! I would highly recommend it to anyone especially health fanatics.

Overall satisfied with the Event. Don't buy the exclusive tickets, on several events you are not guaranteed acces even if you bought tickets.

Crossfit games was an exciting and thrilling event. The switch from LA to Madison however, did not go as smoothly as hoped. The venue lacked some basic needs that i'm sure will be addressed next year, for example the seating chart is incorrrect when you buy tickets. The event did not have enough water for guests and on the first few days was not allowing people to bring it in, they eventually changed that and allowed people to bring it in. Their were not enough bathrooms at the beginning of the event, eventually they brought in more. The athletes and competitiion however was amazing and riviting, the female pros rocked all the events and it was great to be able to get close to them as they competed.

Event was amazing, only the 3g / 4g data network was horrible. Even paying the WiFi access $6 per day, it was such horrible to get connected correctly.

It was an awesome experience and will be back for sure. Unfortunately it was only admission to the festival but no access to the arena for main events, was really disappointing and a bit deceiving because the tickets actually state we could get access. :(

Madison did an excellent job hosting the games. It was an unforgettable experience for me and my family. We will definitely put this back in the bucket list to do again.

Had seen other Crossfit Games on TV before and thought it would be great to see it live. Bought the one-day General Admission (GA) ticket for me and 3 others. Was exiting to see all those "fit" people, but very disappointing in that "General Admission" is a bit of a misnomer... All the sales info said that GA got you access to everything -- coliseum access as well -- except the night events. In reality, on Sunday, and according to the friendly Security folks, you had NO access to the coliseum where two of the final "professional" competitions were held, but, gosh, you could watch it outside on a large screen monitor -- sorry, not the same and very disappointing...

Wouldn't ever miss these games! Sad when it was over. Worth every penny!

I went on sunday and after i bought my tickets, they decided to restrict the collosium. I was able to see everything except the main events on sunday, which was a big let down.

It was advertised we could get into the coliseum during the day time for events, but that was not true. It was very disappointing that access to purchase coliseum tickets was extremely limited to the public and even more disappointing to hear from people inside the coliseum that there were plenty of empty seats. I enjoyed the teams and masters events that I did get to see outside.

The CrossFit Games were absolutely amazing! There was something always going on, regardless of it being the main athletes or not. They did a wonderful job with their sponsors as well as the Vendor Village. Next year I'm certainly going to pay the extra amount for the Coliseum ticket as well.

Great event. Would attend again! Great venue and lots of vendors and food choices.

CrossFit Games in 2017 in Madison was amazing. Fantastic events, great location, amazing performance.

Madison is a great new host. As long as you hotel is within the city, everything was convenient. I arrived a few days earlier so we were able to enjoy the various things the city has to offer! The various event areas and sections in the venue were so close together it was so easy to go from one event to the other and this allowed us to make the most of our experience the entire 4 days! Looking forward to the next year here again!

I hope the games will stay in Madison for longer than the foreseeable future. Had some light rain and cool weather to contend with but overall the event was amazing. The Crossfit teams did an excellent job and were incredibly organized with the set-up, take down and resetting of each event. Parking was a little rough, as I think they had more people show up than they expected. If you stayed until the end of each day you had to wait at least 30 minutes just to leave the lot. It also would have been cooler to give the top 10 athletes more of an introduction, but I understand the time constraints.

Great Event for the CrossFit Community. The vendor village was filled with companies educating and providing samples for the fans. The vendors were also selling product and had struggles with cc checkout process. This was probably due to the poor Internet and cellular connection. A few improvements: more than one coffee vendor. Less tables, more seating, more recycle and garbage bins in the beer tent. There was no where to fill water bottles. No drinking fountains. And not enough seating for outdoor events for when the elite athletes were performing.

This was my first time at the games and I could only make it for the last two days. It was a bit overcrowded but otherwise an amazing experience with great people and vendors. I'm already making plans for next year. These tickets were fine, but I think coliseum tickets would be even better.

Overall it was a fantastic expirence, the downsides were that there was almost no seating through the whole venue. There was maybe 100 seats in the beer garden but with thousands packed into the building. Also cell phones didn't work in the venue.

Go for the coliseum tickets if you're going to head all the way to Madison. Festival admission means paying $100 basically to shop overpriced apparel, hang in a super crowded "beer garden" with little seating, and scramble to check out a few outdoor events. We ended up selling on Craigslist and heading home early.

This was my 4th time to watch the games. Madison Wisconsin did a great job and love being close to home.

This was a fantastic event! I love CrossFit so it's an easy event to attend but it was well organized and the action was great. Bring your wallet if you attend as there are lots of vendors!! In addition to the athletes, there were a ton of activities going on all over the festival grounds. I highly recommend attending.

so happy that Games were held in MadCity; I could drive from Chicago area! We're big fans of the Games and had planned to attend in SoCal this year. Events were extremely well organized...like clockwork...almost military precision. Clean (even bathrooms, which always take a serious hit during big events like this!). No overflowing trash. Well-behaved crowds. Good parking availability. My only significant disappointment was that I did not get to see more of the events at North Park...not enough stadium seating by a LONG shot...particularly for the marquee events! Large screen tvs helped us keep up with the action, but not the same as seeing it live (which is why we decided to attend the Games in the first place). From what I could see, twice as much stadium seating could have been filled. Also as a mom, really thrilled to see young women looking SO poised and strong!
