Snarky Puppy

We had an incredible time at the Snarky Puppy concert this week...their energy was crazy and although I know it was rehearsed, they made you feel like the whole show was kind of unplugged and raw! Their song selection was great and the crowd was totally into the show. Definitely worth seeing the show if you get the chance!

The group was so lively and you could feel the energy when they played! My first time seeing them in concert, but definitely not my last.

Snarky Puppy concert was good however the stand up venue was uncomfortable after a while.

This band is Awesome! To be honest, I had Never heard of this band before. My best friend is the fan, so when I saw that they were going to be performing 10 mins from my home, I could not pass up the opportunity to be the Greatest best friend and buy tickets. I have heard some of their music on YouTube, and can honestly say that after hearing them live, they have another fan in me. I mentioned to my friend that the bad is like 8 musicians with ADD that come up with PHENOMENAL MUSIC! The CD's do not do these gentlemen justice. This is a band that you HAVE to see live to fully appreciate the music. Was not dissapointed!!!!

These guys are true musicians. Snarky Puppy has forced me to figure out how to bob my head to a song that has a verse in 5/4 and chorus in 7/8. WHAT? And live... unmatched. They have an energy that is some how musically sophisticated and visually childish. Their passion for their craft draws you in and forces you to laugh like a school girl right along with them. The next time they come to Maryland, I'm there!!!

Best show I've ever seen in Baltimore. Only because of the heightened musicianship.

I've never seen people groove so hard to instrumental music. The crowd was way more diverse than I was expecting too. The 8x10 in Baltimore was packed. Hildegunn Gjedrem, the Norwegian jazz vocalist who opened the show, was excellent too, and she played with members of Snarky Puppy. One of the best concerts I've been to.

What a great night of music. Really appreciate the talent that was on the stage in ATL. Lucy Woodward with Snarky Puppy was incredible as well.

I will not give Snarky Puppy anything under a 5 star rating. Though we had the worst experience this NYE. Snarky Puppy is without a doubt my boyfriend's favorite band. Yes Phish is the close second. I bought him two tickets for Christmas, and he bought me two tickets for Christmas! We were so happy to now have two tickets to gift to close friends who we knew would adore seeing this incredible band. We knew they added a second show, but we didn't realize they added it FOR THE SAME NIGHT. We assumed it was on Friday 1/1 as the event was listed. It is definitely our fault as we should have noticed the 1am time slot...When my boyfriend realized he had to break the news to the 3 of us that the event was the previous night, it was in the middle of an incredible second set of Phish on 1/1. I thought he was going to cry. We drove from MA to New Orleans to sit in for 2 recordings of Family Dinner Volume 2 and felt such a connection to this band. It isn't the loss of $200 between the two of us. It was utter heartbreak. Four tickets unused. Four tickets that could have gone to a group of people smarter than us. My only plea from Ticketmaster or Snarky Puppy is to someone please emphasize that if a show is at 1am to pay attention to the actual date!! It would save people from seeing the color drain from their boyfriend's face as they realize they will not be seeing their favorite band after all :(

The evening we just spent with Kneebody and Snarky Puppy is almost impossible to put into words! The night was perfect from beginning to end. I found myself closing my eyes and just letting the music take me wherever it wanted to! I wasn't familiar with Kneebody prior to the concert but I have become a fan. Snarky Puppy was at the top of their game, everyone came to play and have a good time. Can't wait until another opportunity arises to see them again!

Snarky Puppy brought high energy to the stage from the first note! Excellent combination of jazz, rock, and funk! Go see these guys!

Philip Lassiter opened the show and rocked the house. Snarky Puppy definitely did their thing. It seems that they didn't stay on the stage long but I didn't time it so I'm not sure. Plus, they were grooving so I definitely wasn't focused on the time. :-)

This band is pure and true. They love music and simply jamming. I watched each musician jam on their chosen instrument at the time, they all play more than one. The crowd at Variety Playhouse was just that, a variety. Everyone seem to be enjoying themselves dancing on the floor or in their seats. I chose to stand with the crowd in front of the band and we danced and waved our hands in the air freely. I loved the band and will see them again whenever they come back.

I had listeded to one song before buying tickets to this show months ago if that says enough. I then went to the show with my buddy and we proceeded to have our minds blow. Live, no production, incredible music was what we had all night. These dudes are truly talented musicians who have a blast on stage and convey that feeling to the audience too. I could watch the bassist/band director all night. Dude was so into his music.

I have spent quite a lot of my young life waiting to see Snarky Puppy perform live, and I am so lucky to have experienced it in such an intimate setting as the Upstate Concert Hall. A shady venue at first, this place rocked in the long run because I felt so connected to the performers. Mister F was a great, engaging group and damn talented in their own right; I was definitely impressed with them as an opening band. Snarky Puppy, as expected, blew me away. They are fantastic musicians and especially dynamic performers. I could not stop smiling the entire night! Go see Snarky Puppy as soon as you can. Seriously. DO IT.

Great performance! The sound was awesome. I did not like the venue. I did not realize I would have stand the whole time and sit through another band's performance I did not expect. I would have preferred two sets of the Puppy any day to that brass band.

When I first heard Snarky Puppy four years ago. I knew they were a band I had to go see live. The band that uses interchangeable musicians on a given tour are every bit as good as you hear on the radio or your cd.

What an amazing performance. They came out playing as if their lives depended on their performance. They were energetic, exciting and some of the most talented musicians to come along in years.

Can't say enough about the writing and musicianship of this band. They are a mashup of Jazz, Funk, Rock, Progressive. The audience was full of musicians. This band is a musician's dream. The place was packed with people of all ages who were really "getting it". Snarky Puppy is my current favorite band.

This band is a musician's band. Talented, spirited, accomplished and tight. A pleasure to watch and listen to, a wonderful show.

Snarky Puppy is THE BAND to go see. They are young, very professional, very fun musicians that are sick as hell! I would more than definitely see them again. It was a downsized version of their original band group, but it wasn't far at all from the sound i was hoping for. They blew me and my friends away. SEE THEM!

The ten piece band truly delivered. Incredible songwriting, arrangements and energy made this an unforgettable show. Irving Plaza was the perfect venue to be introduced to their music. Looking forward to seeing them again when they return to NYC!

Snarky Puppy is a band of some of the best musicians I have had the pleasure to hear. It is great to hear real musicians, playing real music live. The songs and musical arrangements were so smooth, tight and crisp. It was 'chocolate to my ears'.

Wednesday was my first time visiting the Union County Performing Arts Stage in Rahway. It was a pleasant surprise. The venue was comfortable and inviting; which made attending the vent a joy. The concert was well beyond my expectation. All I can say is that Snarky Puppy was a hit and is now on my rotation of "must see" performances.

snarky puppy lived up to the hype. although it wasn't the full band, they were still great. venue was outstanding. intimate, great sound. really close to the action.

Go see these guys! Very talented and entertaining.

A great show featuring extremely talented musicians!

Snarky Puppy was incredible. The venue was a little small, but overall very friendly. After it got a bit late a few people got a little too drunk and acted as you would expect but it was a great night.

An amazing concert. I loved the venue. This was just a display of amazing talent. I can't wait to see them again.

Snarky Puppy is good at two chord jams that lasted 20+ minutes each. This allows them to substitute in players from their cooperative without the need for practice. The base play was unusually self-absorbed. No connection with the audience. We walked out after 45 minutes. Thank goodness for the opening act, Columbus's Dan White Sextet or this would have been a total waste.

A Snarky Puppy concert is definately an unforgettable experience. I have my own instrumental band, that concert inspired us as musicians! S.P. is extremely creative, music for the brain as well as the body!.

Opening act and main attraction was awesome. I will definitely be going to another Snarky Puppy show.

Great performance!! It was my first-time hearing Snarky Puppy. I was very impressed with the eclectic mixture of jazz, soul, and funk! A very energetic group wit soul.

The band was enjoying themselves so much and the crowd was so into the music that the overall house energy was incredibly high. I cannot recall a more exciting concert. Leader Michael League loves this band and the music and his love and (again) energy was infectious. I was also struck by the diversity of the crowd, with all ages and ethnicities loving and responding to the music. Such a good time!! Please return soon, Snarky Puppy

I can t say enough about this group. Every show is different because of the nature of their music. They are insane improvisational musicians and never play the same set twice. They re a special, musical snowflake in this world and always play from their souls. They also know how to throw one heck of a party during the show. Never miss them.

These eleven musicians represent the future of jazz! Each are infinitely talented and innovative. Mesmerizing to experience in the beautiful Orpheum theater.

Performance and sound quality were top-notch, and the band members were super cool, signing and meeting people after the show. A little bummed they didn't play 'Lingus' but you can't have everything.

Best concert ever. Jazz Rock Fusion doesn't get any better than Snarky Puppy. I've been into jazz and rock since elementary school. Played some myself. Nothing like Michael League and his over the top talented group He is confident in his own talent as an electric bassist that he encourages the other stars in the group to riff and perform incredible improvisations. He raises his fist in the air to signal it's time to "bring it back home" and return to the melody and resolve each amazing creation. I've been a huge fan for over 5 years. My day job is as a classical music radio PD and host but I thrive on all forms of music. Yaay Snarky Puppy. Tonight's concert is streamed online. Google it.

Snarky Puppy is a spectacular band, and they did not disappoint. Each member could have their own group; together they are just amazing. I will definitely see them again whenever possible!

The acoustics at the venue were only so-so and it was mostly just standing, but Snarky Puppy delivered in a BIG way. Amazing set-- the rhythms and sounds just cut through me in the best way. They ended on Shofukan and the audience did the acapella. It was transcendent. Once they left the stage the audience started back the Shofukan acapella and wouldn't quit until they came back on stage for another half hour monster jam! WHAT AN EXPERIENCE. If you have the chance to see them and you are at ALL interested in what they do, do not miss your chance to go and experience them.

I loved both groups. It was an incredible night overall.

We love this group! They put so much energy and fun into their show. You can see that they really enjoyed playing with each other and as well as letting each player have the spotlight where you could really see the talent of each. And they even included the audience in their music. Loved It. Can't wait to see them again. Regarding Theater: Saw Snarky Puppy on the pier in NYC which was great platform on the river. On the pier we could not get up close to group, but here we felt like we were on the stage. This theater is in excellent shape for its age and the staff was very nice. It was a really fun atmosphere, you felt like you were in NYC or out on the town. It was an easy ride from South Jersy to this theater. FYI: park at a meter down 2 blocks down the street there is no charge after 6:00 pm, (we put money in then read the signs, and don't get stuck paying $15-30 for 1 block closer in the lots.) It is in a safe neighborhood. Enjoy!

Perhaps if your a dedicated fan. If you want anykind of introduction into Jazz stay away

Snarky Puppy is a creative progressive jazz group of talented musicians! This is an amazing experience for people who are new to jazz and people who are huge fans of jazz..The band plays with a lot of heart and soul, and you can see it in their performance as they close their eyes and dance along! They hook you in with catchy upbeat tunes and keep your interest with their live improvisations!

Music was excellent. They didn't disappoint! Could have listened to them all night!

The show was so good that if it lasted three more hours I would still be so happy.

I had a blast at the concert, extremely enjoyed myself. Like any other fan i just wished it could have been longer as the concert time was 6-9 and was over shortly before 8. The performance in that time span was amazing.

Snarky Puppy had a distinctive blend of old and new jazz. They brought a refreshing new sound introducing jazz to the next generation fans. Their funk fusion blend entice and captivates the audience. Snarky Puppy exposes new jazz fans to experience and appreciate live music. Would love to see Snarky Puppy at Capitol Jazz Festival in Columbia, Md or Bethesda Blues and Jazz Club in Bethesda, Md.

Snarky Puppy was great as usual. This is my second time seeing them in a year. They are a great Band . I was curious to see that there was no opening act. Another surprising thing, only one place close to get something to eat. All other restaurants and shops were closed.

This band did not disappoint. They are incredible musicians and the show was incredible. The level of musicianship is amazing. If you ever get the chance to see them, you must do it. The venue in Berks County was perfect.

Overall Snarky Puppy gave a great performance. Their music is euphoric to me.

Snarky Puppy played a great show - they played straight through - no intermissions - the drummers were amazing. To be honest, I was not a fan of the opening band and they played a long time which drove me crazy but I got over it after Snarky Puppy came on.

This is my first Snarky Puppy show and I will definitely return again, especially if they are playing at The Tabernacle in Atlanta. The energy, the skill, fun and sound were just phenomenal. I have heard maybe 1 percent of the music they have created and all of those songs include vocalists. I was pleasantly surprised and awed by their show. The audience was a nice collective of diversity, age and musical interests....and probably many other adjectives that I can't figure at the moment. If you like any of SP's music, you should make it your business to attend their show when they come your way. Cheers!
