Midge Ure

A lot of people stayed away from this show, I think, because the idea of Midge Ure going acoustic was hard to grasp. Ultravox, after all, was a pioneering synth act. The people who stayed home really missed out! From the moment Midge walked on stage, he was funny, personable and REAL. He talked with guests in the audience and told stories of the first time he came to New Orleans (with Ultravox in 1980, he believed.) "It was my first trip to America and I thought everything would look like what I had seen in Starsky and Hutch. Imagine my surprise when I came to New Orleans. I thought I woke up in Provence!" He even remembered the name of the now defunct club where they played! Sadly, only about 50 people showed for this acoustic show at HOB, but it made for a warmer and more intimate performance for those of us who did plunk down $22 to hear 20 or so songs (many of them classic Ultravox and solo songs.) That's about $1 a song, BTW!! And I don't think anyone missed the synth. HIs guitar playing was fantastic and his voice robust and passionate. And as a bonus, he ambled front stage after the show to sign autographs and take pictures with the guests who remained. This is an evening I will not soon forget! A knight in the British Empire, co-author of one of the best selling singles of all time ("Do They Know It's Christmas", which he didn't play LOL) and many other top selling songs around the world (Vienna, Dancing with Tears in My Eyes, Hymn, Lament, If I Was,) What a show!

Great band. 50 years of Rock. Legends. Mick Box's guitar solos, sweeps, and chunk chords echoed through my veins. Great musicians all around. Just tell Ken Hensley to drop in sometime. See you in Sept.

I have waited my most of my life to "finally" get to see Jack Wagner. What an inspiration you were to me during my teenage years and got me thru some of the most toughest times of my life listening to your songs. What a gift to even have a chance to get to meet such a humble true star and take a personal picture with you. I will never forget the day my great friend Twyla told me that "we can do this and to lets make this happen" that is to go to see Jack in person along with viewing Niagra Falls. It was a true dream come true for me and worth every minute of the drive from Illinois to make this dream a reality. He will always have me as a fan and now Twyla a new fan. Thanks Jack for your personable show. It was trully real..and you still have it as you did back in the 80s. You describe a new meaning to the word "Being Humble" Keep going we will follow you! See you soon on your season 2 "When Calls the Heart" April 25th! Your Greatest Fan, Mariella

He's amazing! You'll get dizzy just watching him dance all over the stage, but he will mesmerize you and soon, you'll be swaying with him! He does new stuff and he brings in the old songs that you remember from J. Geils. He is phenomenal, he has a great band and you will not be disappointed. He's a great person, he's fan-based and he is a great talker and he will tell you stories 'til you are blue in the face, he will make you laugh, he might make you cry, but he surely will keep you dancin'!!! Awesome!

Bobby Womack's voice and charisma stand the test of time. A raucous crowd enjoyed his classic hits and his backing band was tight.

Seeing YLT for the third time was a charm. Two sets gave listeners two different experiences. The first set was like listening to a stack of 45 rpms on a portable record player. A great mix of covers and originals that featured familiar gems and obscure b-sides that had me searching the WWW for clues as to "what was that song"? Example: the last song of the first set was "Take a Giant Step" by The Monkees. The second set was primarily original songs by YLT. Following the Eastern vibe that has permeated recent albums like "Fade", the set list included songs that were longer and included an underlying drone quality that definitely provoked a meditative state in me. Having Dave Schramm playing guitar with James, Georgia and Ira was a real gift. Their interaction provoked smiles amongst the four of them throughout the show and a positive vibration that made for a great concert.

We ve not missed one of Dweezil Zappa s shows in Dallas since he started out with ZPZ tour. He and the band are always spot on, tight, and having fun as they perform for the audience. It s so awesome to see him sharing his fathers amazing music with us, and I m sure Frank would be so proud of his son. I can t wait for Dweezil to return to Dallas. My only hope is that if he plays HOB again, the venue does something about the a/c for the center main floor. It was absolutely freezing, vents were blowing full force straight down on us, and the staff said there was nothing they could do. Four of us, and the row in front of us, moved across to empty seats over to the side which was a little better. But it was still like sitting inside an icebox
