Wild Child is the best Doors cover band I've seen. The highlight of the night was when "Jim" beckoned the entire audience to the front of the stage around mid way through the show. Everyone rushed to the front and it turned pretty wild (and fun) until the ushers/security guards broke up the crowd and ordered them back to their seats a few songs into it. Great show!

Wild child puts on an amazing show. For those of us that did not get a chance to see the "Doors" Wild Child gives you a chance to experience one of the greatest bands to live. They make sure and stick to all the original tracks and sounds. Wild Child gives you a chance to experience something very few people have had the opportunity or ever will.

This is about the 7th time I've seen Wild Child. The first time was about 12 years ago at the Dana Point street fair. I believe that this was the BEST yet! They nailed the Jim Morrison sound and act. I'd recommend anyone who likes Jim Morrison to absolutely see this show -- you'll love it too!

Great show. The lead singer is absolutely Jim Morrison!!! I saw The Doors three times in the late 60's, early 70's and the mannerisms, moves, voice are incredibly Jim Morrison. Doors fans should definitely see this show.

I heard from a couple of friends who saw them, they said they were awesome. Well, Wild Child exceeded my expectations of how alike they sound with The Doors. Wild Child were nothing less than EXTRAORDINARY.

I really dug that they were the only band playing that night at the whiskey. The longer the show went on, the more he embodied Jim. His voice seemed to transform to hit the pitches and the right guttural notes at the appropriate time. The mild effects, like dancing in the strobe lights enhanced the music and the ambiance. It was effen amazing.

September 18th, 2009 marked my sixth viewing of the Doors cover band "Wild Child" at a place called Canes in Mission Beach, San Diego. The venue is right on the sand and you can catch a bite upstairs overlooking the ocean before the show starts below. Wild Child delivers an incredible likeness of a live Doors show, performing for about 90 minutes. The band has done their homework, as their show has evolved over the years since the first time a saw them in 1985. Wild Child plays with the same dynamic, precision, and dramatic power as the original Doors. Singer Dave Brock completes the illusion, making you think that you have stepped back in time to the year 1968. Everytime I see Wild Child, they perform a song or two that I have not yet heard them play. Wild Childs audience spans generations, which includes people who have seen the actual Doors band in the sixties who appear positively mesmerized by the performance. I can't wait to see them again!

I go to a lot of shows. They were very good. Lead singer was much like the late Jim Morrison, very good singer! However, the House of Blues in Anaheim REALLY needs to fix a couple of things. They have ONE restroom UPSTAIRS!! My friend had a sore leg and must of had to climb those stairs several times that night! Then back down to get back to our spots! The men's room door was wide open so people could see men going, and my date looked down the hall to see me washing and adjusting my dress in the mirror. AWKWARD! Keep the bathrooms closed! With that many stairs, have a restroom on each floor!

I've heard for years this band is the closest you can get to going back in a time machine and seeing the real deal. I was floored by the performances of every song Wild Child played! Even though I'm not old enough to have seen the Doors live, I'm convinced this would be a near perfect rendition. They opened with Break on Through which really got everyone going! There was a small spot in the song where a strobe light went on and Dave Brock started to do the customary Jim Morrison "Indian" dancing. That alone sealed the deal and I thought, this show is going to be absolutely epic! And it was!! All the songs you'd want to hear were represented and the final song appropriately was, "The End." As the concert went on, you saw more and more of the Jim Morrison "Indian" dancing and you felt as though you were seeing the man himself. All the band members killed it and I was particularly impressed with the drummer. His dynamics were unbelievable. All in all, this is one of the best concerts I've seen!

Dave Brock (aka Jim Morrison) got older, much older! The band sounded great & so did Dave, but...I wouldnt look at the big screen or get seats too close (we were near the big speaker & it almost blew my eardrum off!) as you dont want to look at the face, especially of Dave Brock, lead singer. He can still belt out the tunes & act sort of like Jim. His choice of clothes were off. Its been a few years since I have seen them. I loved the leather pants, & shirts he wore BEFORE. The outfits were 80's retro! I gave this a 4, because the band was great, & the crowd awesome. Full of energy, friendly & wild but not obnoxious. It might be time to retire Dave.

Morrison passed before I could see The Doors. However I saw WC lead singer perform with Manzarek and Kreiger of The Doors twice before. His performance and this band is much better. I ordinarily don't care for tribute bands but Wild Child breaks the rule. Like all great acts this group had a crescendoing effect. Fans young and old were dancing in the aisles at the end.

This was my 2nd time seeing Wild Child. If you are a Doors fan, PLEASE do yourself a favor and go and check out these guys!!! Dave Brock, as Morrison, is uncanny in his apperance, vocals, mannerisms, stage presencse, etc. The rest of the band are great, too! The guitarist with the long, black hair would look out at the crowd, dancing & singing, and he would seem so HAPPY! Well, they covered most of The Doors big hits and a few less commercially known songs. IMPORTANT INFO: The Hanger is a very small venue - it was AWESOME!!! Just a head's up, though. If you are gong to the show, you will see people start lining up on either side of the seated audience. During the 1st or 2nd song, "Morrison" says something about coming on down to the front. That is the cue to get up out of your chair and haul butt to the front of the stage. That is what those people waiting on both sides of the seated people are waiting for. It kind of is not fair, if you didn't know this (I did because like I am doing for you, someone mentioned this in their review on here - so I knew he was going to give a signal for that. ). Had I NOT known about this before hand, and was not able to get where I ended up (dead center, leaning up against the stage!), I would have been really, really mad. I had assigned seating and these people lining up, had general admission. They scrambled in a second, once the signal was given. I don't see anyway possible that the people sittting behind all the people now standing in front of the stage, could see anything! Just a head's up - since someone was nice enough to mention it and thank God, because I raced up there before anyone and got the BEST position!!! So, THANK YOU to the person who gave this same advice!!! The last song was "The End". After the show ended, you can briefly (VERY briefly) get a chance to purchase Wild Chld's double c.d. and then line up for a chance for Dave Brock (Jim) to sign it and snap a quick picture. You have to act fast! All in all, and I've been to over 200 concerts - this show was one of the best I have ever seen and, being dead center and in the "front of the front row", I could reach up and touch "Jim's" pants and boot every now & then and make eye contact, etc. I was able to take some incredible pictures and live video. IT WAS INSANE! IT WAS EXCELLENT! It was like The Doors themselves were live and playing! Trust me!!!! Check out WILD CHILD. There is NO WAY you can be dissapointed - NO WAY. LONG LIVE THE DOORS! LONG LIVE MORRISON - thank you, Dave Brock - for continuing his legacy and live performance, and for nailing it!!! I'm sure Jim Morrison was looking down from above and checking out the show. I could feel you, Jim. I could really feel you, enjoying the show!

I saw Wild Child at the House of Blues last week. I thoroughly enjoyed the show. This band really sounds like the Doors. I just closed my eyes and imagined I was back in the sixties at the Troubadour. They played two great sets. I'll see them again. This review would have received 5 stars for the band alone, but I took off one because of the venue. Now about this venue: I'm not a big fan of HOB San Diego. Standing room only for most people. I paid the extra to get one of the very few seats that are up in the balcony. Lots of stairs. Not so great for us older folk.

The performance of the music of the doors was excellent. The show started a few minutes after 9 PM, and was finished before 10:30 PM. I feel they should have played at least 30 more minutes. I don't know if something was off, but the energy was low this evening.

Two-set show, which was great, because I would rather listen to all Doors songs, than an opening act that I may or may not care for. The band sounded really good -- top-notch musicians who do an excellent job of replicating the music, and of course Dave Brock's vocals were incredible... on pretty much every song he sounded as good as (if not better than) Jim Morrison. Anybody who's a Doors fan would dig seeing this band. The only downside is that they're so popular, the HOB venue for their shows is always really crowded, and if you're on the floor, you're packed in pretty tight (unless you choose to stand behind a post or way in the back, where you can't see and hear as well).

I have been on a tribute band kick this past year and without a doubt this was the best of a great bunch. There was no artificial ackwardness. No costumes or wigs. Just the music and it is glorious and powerful. Is he a dead ringer for JM? From a distance, yes but it is the voice that carries across the years since JM left us. If JM could have see Wild Child through a telescope from 1971, he might have been able to see a future for himself. One where he could have gotten older with dignity and grace. And so could his music. But it is here in spirit though Wild Child and you should be there in the flesh to see for yourself.

I've seen Wild Child many times over the past 20+ years, and every single time they have put on an outstanding show . I had the privilege a few years ago to see them play with the 3 remaining members of the Doors in Costa Mesa, CA. Dave Brock's voice is the closest to Jim Morrison's than anyone else. The musical talent of the rest of the band is remarkable as well. Ray Manzarek would have been proud to hear what a tribute the keyboard player pays him as he pounds out the notes with perfection . And the lead guitar player and drummer are right in step with the quality and talent of the others in this band. We had an outstanding time in a small venue where Wild Child rocked us all!!!

We were lucky enough to catch the East Coast tour of Wild Child: Dave Brock's Doors Experience this past Saturday night, 8/16. I haven't seen my son that happy in forever, and we danced until the very last note! A remarkable talent in his own right, Dave Brock also channels the most remarkable Morrison imaginable. The band is beyond wonderful, Kit Potamkin smokes the keyboards, and the drummer and guitarist were jaw dropping amazing. Thank you Wild Child for making the trip East! Hope to catch you in California soon! xoxoxo

Fantastic performance by this amazing band. Needless to say that David Brock resurrects the spirit, look and behavior of Jim Morrison like no one else can. I adore the Doors and have been wanting to see Wild Child forever. I am so glad I got to see them. Not to be missed! If I lived in Southern Cal I'd be a groupie! It's amazing what kind of music four guys can produce. Excellent renditions of LA Woman, Hello I Love You, Not to Touch the Earth and even Touch Me (which is a tough song to perform without the horns and strings). And a surpise... they played The End! I saw David Brock perform live with Ray Manzarek and Robbie Kreiger at the Wilbur in Boston September 2012; not only was he great, but so respectful of the actual Doors members, because he did not upstage them once. Cannot rave enough about this band!

When something is advertised as the most Amazing Doors Experience, it is hard to imagine it living up to those lofty expectations. Outside of seeing the original band play, i don't think there could be a better Doors show. Dave Brock was amazing. Great charisma, great everything! He could have been a Jim Morrison understudy. The show was fantastic, had great flow from song to song with personal attention paid to the crowd. Just an outstanding show, and in a great venue like the Fillmore Silver Spring.

Well, there is really nothing bad to say about this event!! It was as if we were seeing The Doors live themselves 45 years ago!! Dave Brock is amazing as Jim Morrison. He's got the look and the sound. How the heck he got the sound down so perfectly I'll never know!! This is a fun night out, anytime of the week!! Get your friends together that enjoy The Doors (and who doesn't) and get to a show!! You will not regret it!!

Knowing David Brock for 20 plus years and working with him in California, I knew this would be a great Doors show. I also saw him perform with Ray and Robbie from the original Doors and if anyone can bring Jim Morrison to the stage, David and his band Wild Child can and do it best. From the opening song to the encore, they did not miss a beat and the full band was spot on. I heard people around me say how eerie it was that it felt like Jim was really there. It's so great to see The Doors music still living on and David and band keeping it alive.

I had never seen the doors live but I love the music. Now I can say that for all intensive purposes I had been to a doors concert. They were fantastic. Their drummer, was amazing. He got such a big sound from such a little kit. Truly spot on and intricate.

at the Hanger....OC Fair. Sound quality and volume? Good. Performance? Also good. First rate musicians. Dave Brock does a pretty good Jim Morrison approximation. I saw , see them if you can. Worth it. Doors music is great music.

This Doors tribute band is by far the best and I've seen them often over the last 20 years. The musical renditions are spot on, with kudos to the lead guitarist, who plays and improvises just like the Door's Robbie Krieger (although he looks just like Keifer Sutherland's Jack Bauer in 24). Unfortunately, lead singer and Jim Morrison impersonator Dave Brock is looking and acting more like Jim Morrison of the Doors probably would today at age 70. I suggest they no longer project giant screen close ups of his face as there is no longer the close resemblance that he had 10 or 20 years ago to the Lizard King. All in all a great show and worth seeing and paying for this band.
