Herman's Hermits Starring Peter Noone

very personable, energetic and humorous, Peter Noone and his current version of Herman's Hermits provided a warm evening of nostalgia at The Meadows Saturday night. Delivering many of his own hits and a some other nuggets from The British Invasion of the mid 60's as well as amusing between songs banter, Noone was in fine form the entire evening. He also remained after the show and met with and signed autographs for fans, chatting with them and even remembering previous Pittsburgh visits. Also included a nice cover of Daydream Believer which would have made Davy Jones smile.

It was really bad. Waste of money and time. Very disappointed. Sound quality was very poor. I wish I read reviews from last year before buying tickets!!!

Grand Rapids Ballet

I took my 7 year old daughter who is a seasoned vampirologist to see Dracula by the Grand Rapids Ballet. She was not familiar with the original story so I had to fill her in. The dancing was beautiful and the dancers were excellent actors. Each performed well and made for a compelling story. Dracula and the vampire girls were devilish and vampy in a fun way that kept the suspense. The location is easy and the auditorium is comfortable with great sight lines. I would recommend the show to anyone, especially parents with preconscious daughters with a taste for the macarbe. We are lucky to have the Grand Rapids Ballet in town.

I love that Maria combines her life as a bi-polar with her comedy. I got a photo of her during the Q&A ,

Barenaked Ladies

As this was the last show on the tour, BNL pranked their opener BTE by having the roadies cover the stage, instruments, and equipment with about 4 dozen ladies' bras, of different sizes and colors. During BNL's set, Ed Robertson sang the live version, modified "Pinch Me" lyrics "and change into my sister's clothes" and was then pelted with the same undergarments, which BTE had collected and passed to the front row for that very purpose. The music was great, the setting was lovely, and a good time was had by all. Did not dissappoint.

Alison Krauss was amazing at the Greek Theatre. She sang non stop from the time she took the stage until the forced stop at 10pm. She had a perfect blend of her new music coupled with the old favorites. Her voice was impeccable with beautiful harmonies provided by her band. I wish it could have lasted longer.
