I didn't even realize the stadium was tucked away in that area by Nationwide and LC Pavilion so that in itself was magical. There were a lot of interactive play items for kids. I wish there'd been more adult activities. It was almost difficult to get parking anywhere close to the stadium b/c nothing was held specifically for event ticket holders. It should have been made more known that assigned seats weren't required for this event which a lot of people didn't seem to understand. There was also misinformation given by ticket window tellers and seating people. For quite number of people it didn't become apparent until they opened the outfield for seating and blankets. I think everyone relaxed at that point and just where convenient. Even staying in the stadium seating having the bands shown on the scoreboard jumbotron let you not miss a moment. The view for Red, White & Boom was spectacular. Just sit anywhere and look towards the scoreboard. The BEST part was sticking around to dance and enjoy the band while half a million people rushed to their cars to sit in traffic leaving downtown. By the time the band finished we leisurely strolled to our car and drove out right away onto the freeway without incident. My mom went to school with members of McGuffey Lane and we've both been enjoying Phil Dirt & the Dozers for about 30+ years so we really had fun! Oh, I can't believe I almost forgot... the opening band New Hollow were such a treasure! They're a trio of cute young TALENTED musicians that have amazing stage presence, spot on vocals, and killer instrumental prowess.

I really enjoyed the show last night. The musicians gave 100% to their fans. Loved hearing some old music that I first heard in Williamsport OH at their outdoor concerts some 30 years ago. Also loved hearing some songs that I hadn't heard before. The guest singers were also fantastic!! Loved how close we were to the stage. Even took pictures with some band members. Hope they do it again next year!!!

The bands were great, But the sound systems were very poor unless you seated at home plate or out the right or left field lines just past the bases. Then you could not understand the words just noise. I would not go back if iwanted hear the bands.

Both McGuffey Lane and Phil Dirt/Dozers may appear a bit advanced in age, but you couldn't tell from the sound and energy of their music. They were a nice compliment to each other, bringing a variety of sounds and rhythms to concert. Huntington Park was a great venue for an evening concert. It was hard to look through the netting at the stage, though...so I recommend sitting out to the sides. The facility is so nice with a good variety of food and nice facilities for families. If I still had little kids I wouldn't go anywhere else! I didn't stay for the fireworks (I had a better seat elsewhere) but my guess is that the place will be packed next year!!!

Not much to do for young adults before fireworks. Good for families. Can't see fireworks much from stadium. Very disappointed.

We attended this event in 2015 and it was great. Great price, family friendly and bathrooms for Red White and Boom. I was thrilled to get tickets this year. When we got there I saw a new building that was built in the skyline. We were assured we would still be able to see. Once the fireworks started, the building did obscure most of the view. Many families left. We did. My kids were very disappointed and so was I. I understand that the park was not aware how the building would affect the view for sure. But, unfortunately, I definitely would not recommend this event now. Everything else about the event, other than actually seeing the fireworks, was exceptional.

The atmosphere is fun until fireworks start. You Couldn't see the fireworks and people started scrambling to get a good spot. It didn't seem like there was a good spot on the park.

The event was fine, in that it was a good place to wait for the fireworks. Having clean bathrooms with running water, a band to listen to, things for kids to do and available water fountains and food and drink concessions.. all of that was worth the price of the ticket. BUT... and this will be a pretty big one... you CAN"T SEE THE FIREWORKS from the ballpark. You can see part of them, a little bit of them, but there are buildings in the way. It's not a good spot for seeing the red white and boom show. So if I were to go to the ball park for red white and boom again, I would leave the park a few minutes before the fireworks start and head down the block to the river to see the fireworks. That would work just fine. As it was, it was kind of funny. The moment the fireworks starts thousands of voices going, "are you kidding me???" and a huge outpouring of people from the park to run down the street so we could see the show.

Well, it was kinda scary by the time the headliners hit the stage. The crowd was the same people I've seen over the last four decades, since the late 70s, just older and grayer. And pretty much the same music, almost note for note ... by the time the band took a break and Delyn Christian started his bad Joe Cocker impressions, the show had jumped the shark. It was time to leave.

We had six people in our group for red white and boom at Huntington Park. Had a great time watching all bands that played. We would of liked it more if the stage was at second base on ball field instead of having it against center field fence. Band could of played a little longer after fire works. We had another 45min. wait to get out of parking garage. Thank You For A Great Night!!!

The event had some rain so they moved the stage to center field instead of behind second base. New Hollow is your typical start up band - not bad but not overwhelmingly good. Phil Dirt and the Dozers was good, as usual. I could understand the lyrics of both bands and the music was well balanced. McGuffey Lane took the stage to perform up until the fireworks. The bass was heavy and the lyrics muffled. What parts I could hear were encouragements to drink beer and language most people would not use in front of their mother. I was completely underwhelmed and disappointed. The event allows COTA bus riders in free. That's not a big deal except it seems a little unbalanced that a $5 bus ticket gets everything that my $35 pays for other than an assigned seat. Ah, so I get the advantage of an assigned seat. Well, that assigned seat is in an area where 25% of the fireworks can not be seen. So they open up the outfield for everyone. The outfield was full, by full I mean standing room only, before New Hollow took the stage. If I go again, it will be as a COTA bus rider.

Great venue for Red, White and Boom. Loved seeing the families enjoy their time on the field together. Rather low-key with food, bathrooms and great entertainment!

One of the most pleasant experiences I have had at Red White and Boom in a long time. The bands where great. Dancing barefoot in the grass was wonderful! I Was able to meet with a lot of my friends and enjoyed the entire night,

First off, McGuffey Lane sounds as great if not BETTER than they did in the 70's! Not many bands can live up to their legacy, but McGuffey never disappoints. I've seen them in small venues (Get there early, they have a huge following!) and I've seen them at the Fraze in Kettering, OH where they pulled in a full house! All locations are a great time with friends and awesome music from talented, seasoned musicians! Secondly - I have to give a shout out to their new CD release "10". Not often can a group that's been around this long come out with new songs that you love as much as their original music, but "10" is absolutely AWESOME! We have a large group that likes to see McGuffey Lane whenever they're near, and we've all agreed, their new CD "10" is one of their BEST! If some of these songs were being played on mainstream country music stations, they would be extemely popular, without a doubt! McGuffey Lane is a MUST SEE!

I had seen McGuffey Lane at my Sadie Hawkins dance back in the 80's and loved them. Was really excited to see them this weekend, but was very disappointed. Tickets said 7pm, but failed to say anything about the fact that no music began until 8pm and Tom played til 9, then the three girls played almost another hour and McGuffey Lane did not begin until almost 10pm, the acoustics in the building were terrible so was very difficult to even understand any words. I personally will never go to First Capital Music Hall again. McGuffey Lane is playing again in April in Waverly, may try again, but will NOT show up at 7pm! Tickets also said we had seats and we were lucky to get a table, they were not assigned seats as tickets said, and quite a few tables were reserved for others and not allowed to us!

I enjoyed every minute of this event. I'd not seen them play since the early 80s. I am amazed at their talent in controlling the weather. They had just announced a break, when it started to sprinkle. Came back on stage and the rain immediately stopped. Too bad for all the people that left.

I enjoyed the VIP area. It was arranged comfortably and the seats were great! Excellent sound mix where I was sitting with a perfect view of the entire stage. Only complaint of area was lack of wait staff and handrails on steps. Security was good.

McGuffey Lane rocked!! Songs were fabulous! And they sounded super. It's amazing to know that some of them have stayed together for so long. The difference in ages of people in the audience was nice to see. I think we all made them feel truely welcome and hopefully they will come back to the Fraze again. I've known Terry since elementary school, but witnessing the way audiences react to them, I don't think I'm predjudiced!! A wonderful night out!!!!! Will be nice to have a new cd soon!

Thoroughly enjoyed McGuffey Lane on Friday night. They played their greatest hits along with a few other new ones. They look like they are still having a great time up there on stage. It was great to see the 3 original members! Crowd stood most of the second show and loved every minute of it.

The weather was perfect for an outdoor concert. While the concert wasn't the best McGuffey Lane performance I've ever attended, I enjoyed hearing their original songs from the eighties. Their overall energy level seemed lacking and the vocals lacked the tight harmonies that caught my ear in their early years. The instrumentals, though, were spot on as usual. I wish the other concert goers sat more and listened to the tunes. If drinking beer is that important, they need to stay at home and not distract from my concert experience.

I've been to many concerts at the Fraze, and the McGuffey Lane show last Friday, Aug. 21, was just as fun and entertaining as the Doobie Brothers last year! Even better in the fact that McGuffey Lane has such a huge following that most people attending know and love the music that brings back memories and sounds just as good today as they did in the Seventies! The new songs were awesome!! FRAZE... PLEASE, MAKE THIS AN ANNUAL SHOW!!!

McGuffy Lane has a unique sound of thier own. I have enjoyed listening to them for 30 years. I try to see them whenever they come to Dayton. The girl they have in the band is awesome, Molly Pocket. The talent of all band members together are very enjoyable to watch. I want to rush out and buy their music which I have not yet to do. I always leave their concerts feeling good becaue their music makes me happy!

This was a great way to be a part of it all but not be a part of "all" the madness. I was happy to spend $10 per ticket to be in this venue. What a nice park! Can't wait to watch a game there. I loved the fact that they let us onto the baseball field. We had right field seats so th view would have been obstructed but allowing us on the field made for a fantastic view! I knew where my kids were and felt they were safe. McGuffey Lane was entertaining as always and Phil Dirt put on a great show too. Discontinuing alcohol sales when fireworks starts is a great plus the only negative was three nasty smokers who thought it was OK to smoke in front of us and discard their butts on the center field grass.
