The Family Stone played nonstop hits and had the whole place dancing before the show was over. The replacement for Sly did such a good job I had to make sure it wasn't actually Sly. His range wasn't quite what Sly's used to be but then Sly is about 70 now, right? Sly's daughter was the female vocalist and has a powerful voice and presence. Overall a group of talented people representing the hits well. On the other hand was Mavis Staples who either had pneumonia or COPD or both. Her voice was hoarse and she had trouble making it through her shortened set. I was disappointed but love what she represents and give her compliments for not cancelling. She obviously loves to perform and never said she was less than 100% even when she took a 5 min break from stage.

Backed by the Kronos Quartet, Tom Waits put on a dazzling performance, played hauntingly beautiful songs, and told a funny story about a guy in a speakeasy. His performance was easily the best part of the show. I hope he lives a long, healthy life so I can continue seeing his work.
Took my mom and dad along with my mom and father-in-law to accompany me and my Wife...It was an absolute amazing experience...Such a genuine good vibe throughout the entire crowd and the music was like a breath of fresh air...What a night!
Carter Barron Amphitheatre - Washington, DC - Sat, Jun 27, 2009
The show was unforgettable !!! due to poor sound check. We couldn't understand a word the artists were singing. Will not pay that amount of money any more to come and see an artist at this venue.
Went expecting stand up comedy. Instead it was a 1on 1 interview with Samantha Bee. Nowhere online did it specify this and say it was an interview type of show. VERY disappointing and not what I expected.

El Cubatonzo was a really good experience, however, people kept standing in the middle of the stairs and blocked my view from my seats. There was no one from the event that helped with that so I feel that diminished my experience at the event.

On August 16th, Fantasia was in Dallas at the Medusa & threw down. From the time I got in the building, the music was rocking & Fantasia came on stage & blew the roof off the Medusa. May God continue to bless you & your family (including the band) musically, spiritually, & all.
