Neon Trees

Neon Trees

NEON TREES IN CONCERT:If Neon Trees' kaleidoscopic image is a perfect fit for their name, the band's sound is an even more fitting realization of their moniker, all punchy drums and prismatic synth lines.  Ever since being tapped by the Killers as openers on their2008 tour, the Trees have been an impressive live presence, delivering adrenalin-filled shows full of dance-ready songs like "Animal" and "1983." Frontman Tyler Glenn floored fans with his showmanship and intensity on the band's 2013 tour dates, and with a new album due out in 2014, he'll be bringing it harder than ever on the Pop Psychology Tour 2014.BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:Initially formed in California by singer Tyler Glenn and guitarist Chris Allen, Neon Trees soon moved to Provo, immersing themselves in the Utah Music scene and making a name for themselves in the region.

Neon Trees gave the performance of a lifetime. Tyler Glenn promised a special show to make up for a sore throat(I never noticed) and he delivered. The show was alive and the band was as tight as ever. There was raw emotions, Tyler gave all he had and the audience gave him their love right back. I want to know when Neon Trees will be back in the area but I know of no better venue then the State Theatre Saint Petersburg, Florida.

Neon Trees rocks every concert they have! This was my 3rd time seeing them live and I'm never disappointed. After seeing then for the first time in KC I was hooked! I love to see them in the smaller more intimate venues. If you haven't seen them please do, they are with your time and money!

We were on a roof top located on the Vegas Strip where Neon Trees was playing a great show, what more could you ask for? The bar was severely overpriced though

This was my 3rd time seeing Neon Trees perform, and I'd have to say it was my favorite. I think they connected with the fans here in Columbus a lot better than when I seen them in Chicago, although Lollapalooza is not as interpersonal. I've gotta say New Politics was a phenomenal opener. I instantly became a fan and look forward to seeing them again.

Pretty amazing show overall, although I think New Politics kinda stole the show with their crazy antics and floor seizures (had to be there, pretty awesome).

Talk about energy! Tyler Glenn is a madman onstage. Neon Trees can really get a place moving on a monday night. We enjoyed the venue, too! The Magic Stick is a fun place to see a band. I will be back there again. Have to give props to the other two groups that opened. Young the Giant had a good sound. My date and I were both very pleased to see and learn about New Politics. They have a very fun, energetic, danceable sound. It was like going to a party. The price of entry was more than worth it. Although, it was a good size crowd, I was surprised not more people came out and packed the place. I am glad I didn't miss it.!

great show. found some new bands that played with the band we were originally going to see. only thing i would suggest is that when fans are getting stuff signed or talking with band members after the show to not have security guards kick us out because its too late for their liking. show was great, especially for the money!

It was great! Sadly the crowd was not big enough/not into it enough so the lead singer kept telling everyone to act alive! The pre-show was even better! Young the Giant and New Politics were amazing and deserve to have their own show!

Overall, the band sounded great which is hardly the case for live music, but the lead singer was strange. He should definitely do less talking and more singing. He came off condesending asking how much we paid for our tickets and if we didn't have anything better to do on a Saturday night. He insulted our city by saying he was glad we were not out in New Orleans with all the rapists, although it was his first time here. After a few songs, he took off his jacket, after another he took off his shoes, then his necklace. I was afraid he'd be naked by the end of the show. He asked everyone in the seats to come down to the floor, but the security staff wouldn't let. He fell off the stage, had to get the secuirty guards to prop him back up, then his mic got tangled up in the stage wires. It was just awkward all the way around.

Neon Trees, New Politics, and Young the Giant. A great combination of music, people, and energy. The venue was awesome. I mean, a bowling alley in the first floor and a stage upstairs? Heck yeah! Made hanging out before the show extra fun and gave us a chance to relax and not freeze outside until the venue made us go out there. Plus, they only made us wait outside about half an hour. Young the Giant doesn't necessarily tickle my fancy, but they had a good stage presence and sounded solid. New Politics were all over the place, in a good way. They had so much energy and interacted with the crowd and their music is quality stuff that's great live. Neon Trees. Amazing. I've loved these guys for a while now and this was my 11th show seeing them. They evolve and adapt and grow as a live band wonderfully and the crowd ate it up. They have amazing chemistry with each other on stage and they work the crowd perfectly. They sound solid and true live not only instrumentally but vocally. Singer Tyler Glenn live sounds just like he does on their album "Habits." If you haven't seen Neon Trees yet, DO IT. Plus, all their tickets this tour (save some holiday radio shows) are super cheap!

Missed Young the Giant... New Politics had a badass drummer which automatically keeps my ears happy regardless of how annoying the lead singer is.. The guy had a decent voice for a scrawny little bastard and the break-dancing was an interesting surprise but the guys repetitive stage antics got old quick ( putting his hand to his head and pretending to blow his brains out). Neon Trees .... HOT CHICK Drummer.. need I say less.. These guys rocked live.. I couldnt understand a word he said but the beats kept my head bouncing.. The singer is definately a born showman and I am sure these guys will blow up with the G rated rock crowd.

The show was great. We have seen Neon Trees before and each show just gets better and better. The band was taking pictures with fans before the show started. And also in the club walking around. They are so nice and down to earth. THEY CARE ABOUT THEIR FANS VERY MUCH. Tyler as usually was so effing crazy on stage and even ran down to pit !! Wonderful performers. They sound as good live as they do on Cd. Once again AWESOME TIME!!!! Have never seen New Politics live before and was impressed by their performance. Crazy mofos. Great time and great show! Young The Giant band was also pretty cool.

Great concert. All 3 bands had very good moments. Fictionist opened with a great song and had a couple other good ones. I am a big fan of Coin and was not disappointed other than I had hoped that they would play longer than 30 minutes. They have so much energy! Neon Trees has a couple of great songs that I knew of, but I was truthfully a little disappointed in their other songs. They saved the best for last though. Their final 4 songs were amazing and made up for the rest of their performance.

The first openers were good, but you could tell were new because their stage presence was lacking (sure this will grow with experience). Second opener was Coin, and they were really good. If you've seen the Neon Trees in concert before, then you know that they always get better and better. If you haven't been to a Neon Trees concert, then I suggest that you do for their concerts are fun, full of incredible energy, are clean (if you bring along your munchkins), and addicting. They always bring their "A-game" and I always look forward to their concerts. Such a fantastic group. Side note: their opening acts were Fictionalist (hipster/new wave) and COIN (modern teenie-bopper). The first act reminded me of The Police and the second act was something I wouldn't prefer but both acts were lively and fun.

to start off, I was really only going with a number of friends because I was an old fan of their first two albums and I was like "hey they've got some good songs lets go!" Well, now I'm a superfan!! Amazing vocals!! Sooooo so much better live! Even when you don't know a number of songs, you are bound to have an incredible time! They're all very humble and don't really care how many people actually showed up which really feels good being a part of the audience because they aren't the kind of artists to care for much profit, you can tell that they are so dedicated to their music and give their all into their performances! Overall, just a fun, electrifying performance that will get you up and dancing! I really wonder why they aren't a little more popular, they've got better songs and better vocals than a lot of bigger groups and artists honestly

Another fantastic show by the Neon Treee. Tyler and and band sounded fantastic, they have definitely grown since their first album. The music was tight and clean, Tylers voice was really powerful and a welcome change from the raspy singing on the Picture Show tour. My only complaint was the songs that should be rocked were slightly down tempo. 1983 and Animal were all played just too slow. I understand they have played these songs for years now and they want to mix it up but those songs should really be played at their peak as they really bring the crowd up. It really does go for the whole show though every song was slightly down beat and low key.

OMG! What a fun-filled, high-energy, amazing performance by this 80's Skaa-like band! The songs were all catchy tunes with fun beats and the antics of the lead singer, Tyler Glenn, made this one of the best shows to see! We danced, we sang, we were bangin' our heads to the beat with Tyler! Next time the opportunity comes around, go see this band! Reminds me of No Doubt back in the day and some of the bands who have perfected how to rock old school style. Special note was Cher Lloyd's opening - the girl has a massive pair of lungs on her! Her voice is full and raspy, yet "valley girl"-ish and loud - very distinctive. I see big things for her in the future!

I've been obsessed with Neon Trees since seventh grade, and needless to say, their music alone has gotten me through some reallg rough patches in my life. So right off of the bat, I had a real admiration for them going into the concert. But, even if I was a complete stranger to Neon Trees, their concert would still convince anyone to listen to their albums. Everything from Tyler's vocals to Brandon's bass was just on key and so incredibly amazing. They sound even better live! Tyler also put on some fantastic dance moves and is just really intriguing to watch. The entire concert was just really entertaining and an exciting experience which I will never forget. However, the only reason I gave the concert four stars instead of five is because as a long time fan, I was disappointed that they only played songs from their newest album, Pop Psychology. They didn't even play all the songs from Pop Psychology. Yes, I understand it's the Pop Psychology Tour, but when I saw other bands' concerts, they played songs from all their albums. As incredibly amazing as Pop Psycology is and even though they did a MIND-BLOWING performance, I would still have liked them to be more diverse and play all songs from Pop Psycology and at least six songs from Picture Show and Habits. Other than that, I loved the concert and my friends, who don't know Neon Trees, fell in love with their music and had the best time of their lives! It was a fantastic experience!

Neon Trees rocked the Newport Music Center. They were non stop bundles of energy. The hall rocked with every song. Tyler Glenn was amazing. His voice is so distinct. This is the first band that I have found that every song is a great song since the 80's. Thank you for bringing this father of 5 kids (21,16,11 and twin 2 year olds) into the 21st century. Let me start off by saying that, I recently got into Neon Trees recently about a month ago (May 9th). However, I've always been familiar with their songs, I could never put their faces to their songs. However I fell in love with 'Sleeping With A Friend' & decided just to go ahead a purchase a VIP Package & I have NO REGRETS! They are an awesome group and they put on a high energy show, I've seen Beyoncé, Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars live to name a few so I know a good show when I experience it. The concert was amazing, I got front row & I was able to meet the band. I was so close, the sweat from Tyler dripped on me! Also I got a pretty dope selfie with Tyler and a selfie with Elaine & Chris! So awesome! Their opening acts were pretty dope as well. They have a new fan in me & I would honestly see them again!

I was pleasantly surprised with the whole event. This was a treat as it was my 16 yo. daughter's and her 15 yo. best friend's 1st Concert and I must say, I did not mind being there one bit. All three bands know how to put on a show. "Nightmare and The Cat" - They performed well. Their act, without all the bells and whistles of bigger, well-known bands, managed to captivate the audience with their talent. Shady but with a pulling vibe that kept even those of us who were not familiar with them, going. "Smallpools" - If you are not familiar with them, I suggest you check them out. They brought on the inflatable beach balls and killer whales, a couple of dog figurines they handed to the crowd to hold for a picture, and their feel-good, up-beat performance made their act feel too short and nothing shy of being the main event. Thumbs up guys! "NEON TREES" - The cherry on the top. Excellent energy-filled performance, a creative touch that did not disappoint, and a melee of songs from their old and new material that was carried out like the big ones. They get the fans involved interacting with them through quirky little intros to some of their songs that only added glue to the vibe they get going on stage... and off. Yes, Tyler Glenn eased himself into the hands of the crowd as he got carried around for a little bit by the fans until they returned him to the stage. PROS:

Prior to Neon Trees there 2 bands, the second one was very good but their name was no where to be found. Neon Trees came on and delivered an excellent show singing songs from Pop Psychology and covering all the old favorites too. They played at a nice pace and came back for their encore quickly. Truly an amazing performance! Everyone sounded great and Tyler's stage presence is energetic and a blast to watch. The visuals were a great compliment to an already good show, with 3 led screens, a staircase, and even an inflatable brain made ya smile and genuinely ecstatic to be there. Set list was great, their cover of pixies "where is my mind" was a pleasant surprise and sounded great. All the songs you want to hear with a great closing number with "first things first". Anytime from this point on I will be in attendance for a neon trees show!!! Great band, great vibe, great time, and great venue, stage ae is by far the greatest venue in Pittsburgh!!!

It was my first time at the Wiltern and my first time seeing Neon Tree in concert. Not only was the place awesome, but NEON TREES was AMAZING. I had only heard a couple songs by them before attending the concert, "Animal" and "Everybody Talks," both in my top five songs to have on repeat. By the end of the concert, I added so many of their songs in my "repeat" list. One of my new favorites is now "Mad Love." All of their songs are catchy, relatable and fun. Tyler Glenn is amazing, his vocals is incredible, just like what you hear on the album and radio. His energy is so high that you get pulled in. The whole band was awesome and me and my teen daughter had a fantastic time except for the 1 hour delay due to electrical problems in Webster Hall, no AC, extremely hot and sweaty and aching feet from standing for about 5 hours, we still had a fabulous time! Both opening acts were also great, JJamz and Penguin Prison, the lead singer of PP has a great voice. I would go see Neon Trees again when they come around the neighborhood area ... I went into this liking Neon Trees and came out liking 2 bands. Such a good paring for a tour, both bands have such high energy. I hadn't heard of AWOLNATION before this show, but after a few songs I downloaded the album at the show. AN is one of those bands you have to see live, they sound better than the recording and the excitement they manage to whip up on stage is amazing. Neon Trees were excellent as well. I had heard they put on a good show and I wasn't disappointed. I feel like I got 2 shows for the price of one. Definitively catch either band if you have the chance. And the Paradise is one of my top 3 favorite places to see bands.

I decided last minute to go by myself and scored a pit ticket! I really enjoyed discovering a new band in the Eastern Conference Champions--very tight, excellent sound! I saw Neon Trees once before with My Chemical Romance but enjoyed them so much more here! Just wish it could have been longer. Tyler was so charismatic and everyone was having a fantastic time--on stage and off! Great show--this is a band I'll follow--now for a new CD....... :)

I've seen Neon Trees at least three times in the past eleven months and it's always a good time! Although I don't think they have a new album out, they did play quite a few new songs and an INXS cover. Of course they included the favorites and a good time was had by all. My 9 year old daughter loves the song Animal so I decided to take her to this concert at the fair as her first concert. Usually I go for standing GA since it's a lot funner for me to be up and dancing around, but because I had my kids I got seats. They were pretty good seats with bar and food service at the tables, but they were seats. It was fun, but the people in front standing and dancing and jumping looked like they had a great time! One word about the seated food service. The "service" was really lacking. I ordered a $14 cheeseburger for my kids and they completely forgot about it. I had to track down the waiter 45 minutes later which he finally brought just as the encore started. I think this was a great first concert for my kids. Neon Trees songs are (basically) good for all ages, there was no opening band at the fair (making the length of the concert bareable for a 9 year old), and the seating situation was good for her age.

Honestly, two of my favorite bands in a small/close theater... I thought I had died and gone to heaven! I had read a lot of reviews of TLA and was worried about the bar area and not being able to bring drinks on the floor, but there was plenty of room at the bar and you could still see the band... plus there was plenty of time in between sets and no huge lines to run and grab a drink. Both bands rocked the house and I cannot believe this concert was sold out. A lot of band members came out front afterwards and I got pics with Tyler, Eric, and Giovanni!! WOOHOO!!!

The Neon Trees gave a wonderful performance. I would recommend anyone who loves a high energy, crowd interacting show to attend a Neon Trees performance. Tyler Glenn expresses his sincere love for music and entertainment, while the drummer, Elaine, rocks out an awesome beat. Young the Giant was the opening band. They are great! They sound like a mixture of Vampire Weekend and Kings of Leon. Only down side of this event was that the Intersection stated that the doors open at 6:30 pm. In reality the doors did not open until 7:15pm. I had to stand outside in below freezing weather almost an hour. Not cool....freezing!

This was my third time seeing Neon Trees and they still remain amazing and unforgettable at each performance. They're so energetic and fun and really get the entire crowd involved and having fun during the entire performance. What made this night even more unforgettable for me was the fact that the band stuck around after the show and took photos with fans and signed autographs. There was even someone there handing out free posters to have signed in case you didn't have anything on you for the band to sign. What made this even better was how kind and personable the entire band was. They had conversations with everyone and joked around with you. They truly were thankful for you coming to the show and being there and you could definitely feel that. If you ever get the chance to see these guys play, do yourself a favor and do it.

Neon Trees is possibly the best band to see live. With boundless energy and dedication to their craft, the whole audience was kept wide-eyed and enthused throughout their performance. Tyler Glenn in particular impressed me with how into his performance he was! Very entertaining and definitely worth the money (granted, I saw them at a festival so it only cost me a couple dollars).

My wife & I took our 3 kids (13,15, 17) @ Irving Plaza. Great time. Sound was a little off at this venue. We sat in VIP upstairs. It was worth paying the upgrade to have a place to stand / sit if you want. Cool place though. We all enjoyed the show and like Neon Trees better now that before.

There's no way around it .... Neon Trees never fail to go all out with great music even on the last night of the tour. The sold out show had so much energy and even as hot and humid as it was, they never missed a beat. Looking forward to their next album and tour - when they come back to town, buy a ticket and enjoy the show!!

I've seen them twice. Once at House of Blues and this time at Paradise Rock Club. Both small venues. They absolutely rock it! Very Fun! And I'm in the age 40+ club. Will go see them every time they come to Boston.

The venue was so perfect for an incredible night. Opening act nightmare and the cat were so personable and friendly after their performance. They shared with their fans and opened up to new fans with a meet and greet. Where you can get autographs and pics with them. Then Neon Trees just rocked San Diego!!! They were so so talented. Their music just makes you feel so good.

The best concert I've been to in a long time, and I go to a lot of concerts. The energy was high and they they kept us on our feet (okay it was standing room only), but we were jumping with our hands in the air through most of the concert.

Thoroughly enjoyed this concert. Nightmare and The Cat were excellent too, and Smallpools weren't bad for that matter. But the event of the night was Neon Trees. Although the band is all good and it was so much fun, it's all about the lead singer! He really is the show and he has a unique voice. Sounds exactly like his (their) records. Could happily attend another Neon Trees concert!

The sound system sounded great. Neat venue in the partially drained pool at the Cosmopolitan. I've seen Neon Trees before and and this performance was better better than the last. The band was on point, Tyler and Elaine Elaine sounded great! The crowd was boring but that didn't stop me from singing and dancing. As a fan of the band, I loved the show!

I have been waiting over 3 years to see Neon Trees here in Vegas. I love Tyler and love his music. I really appreciated the little "pep" talk he did in the middle of the show. The only thing I wasn't crazy about is that I thought the base was TOO loud. It drowned out Tylers voice a couple of times and there were some parts I could barely hear him, just thumping noise. Turn the base down and Tyler's microphone up !!

Neon Trees always puts on a good concert but this one was amazing! The set was so fun and Tyler always brings the high energy. They played a long set, 17 songs! Smallpools, one of the opening bands, was awesome as well. I had started listening because I knew they would be there and they lived definitely lived up to my expectations. Nightmare and the Cat, the first opener was so surprising live. I wasn't sure how I felt about them just listening to the EP, but they totally converted me seeing them live. It was a shame the acoustics in Hard Rock are so terrible because the lead singer has a really great, unique voice that got lost with the bad sound.

Hands down best concert I've been to! The opening acts were Great and so energetic. Tyler from neon trees has an incredible stage presence! He never stopped moving or dancing and he is absolutely outstanding live. He has amazing vocals and he definitely connects with the crowd. He stage dive twice and both times he was right before me! All in all, waaaaay worth the money! If they ever come back to my area, I wouldn't hesitate to see them again.

The lead singer of Neon Trees was amazing and had a lot of energy and channeled that energy into the crowd. He was great to watch, especially his duet with the drummer of the band. But the band I loved was Smallpools. I came into the concert knowing songs from Smallpools but their stage presence totally won me over. I do believe they are one of the next big things.
